Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon
Review corner
Johnathan-Mandrake: I'll keep that in mind. Might hep out for later plan
I am vegito: bloody hell I don't know anymore T_T
Planar-Walking-Entertainment: you are confused about this. Mew is free and untouched. Giovanni has mewtwo.
ArashiNokitsune: yeah, sorry but it is too soon for that revelation. Miltank is kinda like a mother figure and if you mess with a mother's child, they would go all out. So it isn't that surprising
Learcangel1: yeah it was Mewtwo. Andfor those that will be with Ash, they will grow to love him not just automatically love him and as I said before, lemon's will not happen since it wont add anything. I want fluffy love.
James Savant: glad you liked it
Smp2000: heres the next one
DragonLatios: interesting idea. I might use that at one point
StarDragon001: one of those pairings is a dead set and will not change. I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out which one
FenreldStormblade: no worries
Mahoma: a new chapter for Fox guardian was uploaded and please don't leave a review like this. I am working on all of my fics but a lot of the time, I focus on specific ones
Kiri TheFrenchReader: yes there are three mewtwos. I gave them gender because it helps keep track of which is which. And they will find out but it isn't time for it
Smp2000: thank you
Sernaju219: I don't know if I'll go all the way to Alola but I do plan on adding some of the alola pokemon in this
IMPORTANT NOTICE/CLARIFICATION
Ok to clear some things up. There ARE THREE mewtwos
The one we know from the first move who is fully grown and working with Giovanni
Ash, as he is the first mewtwo, made but rescued by Mew and is about the height of his human form
And the female Mewtwo from the Genesect movie since she is different from the one from the first movie who is still in the young state but growing slightly faster then normal
Mew is in hibernation since she spent a full ten years programming Ash's transform to work when he is conscious. She'll come back
Chapter 10: deserving
The group were walking down a road as they were still on their way to viridian. And now that they were on the road, they were all in high spirits.
"Come one, Ash. please cheer up."
Well, they would be if Ash wasn't walking as if he was given the worst news ever.
Misty sighed as she shook her head. "Ash, stop mopping. It isn't like you lost anything. All you did was send one pokemon back to Professor Oak's lab."
Ash looked over his shoulder, past Eevee, who was trying to give comforting words to the trainer while Pikachu was nuzzling him as much as she could to try and cheer him up and at misty. "I know. But I didn't want to send any of my pokemon to the lab." he then gained alligator tears as he remembered sending his pokemon to Professor Oak's lab so Bulbasarur could join
~Flashback~
Ash was pacing back and forth as he tried to think of who he should send. He had his hand on his chin as he mumbled to himself. "Who should I send? All of them are good pokemon and they all have diverse pokemon typing so anyone of them could be sent and it could both help or hinder my team….."
Avoline, Misty, and Brock were sitting to the side as they watched Ash do this.
Misty had her head leaning on her propped-up hand as she sighed out of boredom since Ash had been doing this for about 40 minutes. "How long is he going to do this?"
Brock chuckled as he pulled out some rice balls for them to eat. "Let him try and figure this out. This is the first time he had to do this so it might be a little hard for him to figure it out. Here." he handed a rice ball to Misty who took it with a grateful nod.
Avoline smiled at seeing Ash like this since it seemed that he was totally fine after what happened only yesterday. She wasn't the only one as Miltank and Gardevoir were out as well and sitting next to her.
Miltank made it very clear that as long as they are on the road, she will stay out of her Pokeball to make sure Ash remained safe.
Gardevior remained out of her Pokeball to make sure that Miltank didn't go overboard when keeping Ash safe while also making sure that Ash remained safe.
Avoline looked a little aways from Ash to see all of his pokemon out of their Pokeballs as they also watched Ash pace.
Ash's pokemon sat in a row as they turned their heads, tracking Ash's movements. They were let out so Ash could look over them to help make his choice but so far, it didn't seem to speed up the process.
Bulbasaur, who had yet to be caught, asked the others. "Is this normal for the young legendary?" he knew that they were far enough away from Ash so that they didn't really need to whisper. And with how Ash is right now, they doubted he could hear them.
Eevee licked her paw, before cleaning her face as she answered "he hasn't done this before but it is the kind of thing he would do."
Pikachu nodded her head as she yawned. She didn't mind watching out for Ash but watching him do only one thing for so long was starting to get boring. "If I had to guess, he would be at this for the rest of the day."
The other pokemon groaned as they didn't want to just sit here and watch Ash do this.
Oddish turned to the others as she asked "why don't we figure out who should be sent to this Professor Oak?"
Sandshrew nodded as he gave his approval of the idea.."Yeah. it would be a lot faster if we did it rather than waiting for Ash."
Butterfree fluttered her wings as he asked. "So, who should go?"
Pidgeotto pointed his wing at Eevee and Pikachu. "You two are staying for sure since you two are the ones that remain out of your Pokeballs and watch him all the time."
Pikachu and Eevee nodded as they didn't even consider going to the lab.
Sandshrew raised his claw in the air as he brought up another point. "Maybe we should also consider who would still need training. We all need to get stronger. Not only for the battles ahead but to make sure we are strong enough to handle anything that might cause harm to our trainer."
They all nodded as Eevee and Pikachu stood up and moved in front of the rest with the latter acting as the leader "alright so, let's go over what we can and make the decision."
Bulbasaur chose to stay out of this since he was the newest member and he was the one that was going to stay and these pokemon knew each other better than he did.
~flashback end~
In the end, the pokemon had decided and he went with their decision. But after a few minutes of capturing Bulbasaur. He already missed the one he sent. "Why do I have to only hold onto just six pokemon?"
Miltank patted his arm as she looked up at him. "Come on, Ash. you'll see 'em again."
Ash nodded as kept trudging along.
Misty didn't know whether to admire how much Ash loves his pokemon or be irritated that he was basically a walking zombie at this point. She then again had a question as she looked at the other two humans of the group. "Hey, where are we anyway?"
Brock pulled out a map and looked it over. "Hmm, not sure. It looks like we might be on route 24. But the surrounding area all looks the same to me."
Avoline looked over his shoulder at the map and nodded. "I think we are on route 24….oh wait. I think that we are on this route here.." she pointed at a spot on the map. "We aren't on route 24 but the one that merges into it. And it looks like once we get to the route, it will lead straight to Vermillion city."
Misty smiled as she used her free hand to rub her shoulder. "That's great. Faster we can get there, the faster we can get to a pokemon center."
Avoline smiled as she spoke up again. "Actually there is a pokemon center not that far from here. It's one of the checkpoint centers for travelers that come through here."
Misty cheered at that. "Alright!"
*bang*
Brock, Misty, and Avoline looked ahead to see Ash laying on his back as it looked like he had walked into a large boulder with the pokemon making sure he was alright. All they could do is shake their head good-naturedly
Misty then looked up at the boulder and noticed that there was something on the top of it. "Hey, what is that?"
Ash sat up and rubbed his nose as he got out of his slump because of the pain and looked up at what Misty was referring to. He saw that on top of the boulder was a Charmander. "Cool!" he regained some of his old vigor as he pulled out his Pokedex and pointed at the pokemon.
{Charmander: this small pokemon has a flame lit on the tip of its tail from the moment it is hatched. One of the misconceptions states that if the fire on its tail goes out, the pokemon will die. However, it is actually an indicator of its current health. The hotter the flame, the healthier the pokemon.}
Ash put the Pokedex away and tired his head. "I wonder what Charmander is doing sitting on the boulder?"
The rest of the gang walked up to him as Brock spoke. "Good question. This isn't really a habitat for Charmander."
Ash didn't know about pokemon habitat but he just chose to agree with Brock. He then narrowed his eyes as he noticed something about the Charmander. "His tail is almost out!"
The rest of the group noticed that the pokemon's tail flame was extremely low.
Avoline went into her nurse roll immediately and pulled off her pack before placing it down. But before she opened her bag, she paused as she saw Ash climb the boulder till his head was laying on the edge. She chose to halt her hand right now as she waited for how Ash would deal with this.
Ash made sure that he had solid footing before he spoke to the pokemon
Pikachu and Eevee hopped off and stood at both sides of Ash's head.
"Hey, Charmander. What are you doing here on this boulder."
Charmander was slightly panting as he looked at the human that gave him an odd feeling. "I'm….waiting for….my trainer to come….get me. He asked me to wait here for him since he said he had something he needed to do before he came back for me."
Ash smiled at how Charmander was dedicated to his trainer but at the moment he needed to do something to help him. "Ok. but you aren't looking so good. Wouldn't you want to go to the pokemon center to get yourself feeling better and come back later?" he reached out his hand and petted the pokemon's head. He was worried as he could tell that Charmander was looking pale.
Charmander enjoyed the petting before he shook his head. "If I leave, my trainer might come back and I won't be here."
Ash smiled sadly at the pokemon and chose to respect the pokemon's wishes. "Wait here." he dropped back to the ground before running off to Miltank. "Can you use milk drink please?"
Miltank smiled as she figured that Ash would want to help the Charmander. She nodded and watched him reached into his bag and pull out an empty milk bottle for her to fill
Charmander watched as he did this before looking at Pikachu and Eevee. "Why is he…..helping me?"
Pikachu sat down as she looked at Ash. "he loves pokemon. so it makes sense that he would help you out if you look as tired as you do."
Eevee turned to glare at Pikachu. "Pikachu, you don't have to be so blunt about it."
"What? It's true. He looks like he needs the help." the mouse pokemon crossed her paws as huffed as if she did nothing wrong.
It was then that Ash climbed back up with the bottle in hand and a couple of oran berries in his other. "Here, this should make you feel better."
Charmander looked at the bottle for a second before getting up and grabbing it so he could drink the milk. Once he was done, he put the bottle down and smiled as he felt better.
Eevee and Ash tried to hold in their laughter as they saw he had a milk mustache. Pikachu was rolling as she couldn't help it.
Eevee bonked the Pikachu on the head. "Behave."
Ash smiled at this before he looked to Charmander who was eating the Oran and Sitrus berries. "Feeling better?"
Charmander smiled as he nodded to the human. "Yes, thank you."
Ahs petted him once more as he picked up the empty bottle. "You're welcome. I hope that your trainer comes by soon. Are you gonna be ok?" his eyes shifted to the flame on the pokemon's tail to see that it was a bit brighter
Charmander smiled as he nodded. "Yes, I'll be just fine now that I feel better."
Ash nodded before he reached into his pocket and pulled out some more berries, though he did lose his footing and fell back to the ground. "Wah! *bam* ouch." But his berries landed right in front of Charmander.
The three smaller pokemon looked over the edge and saw that Ash landed on his back with Miltank and Gardevior already making sure he was ok.
Pikachu and Eevee sighed as they both thought to themselves. 'He needs to stop getting us so worried.'
Pikachu hopped down to make sure that her trainer was still ok, though she found out that he was a little dizzy from the fall
Eevee looked at Charmander and smiled "take care of yourself."
Charmander nodded as he grabbed the berries and moved them to be behind him. "Thank you. You and your trainer."
Eevee nodded before hopping down
Avoline and Misty helped ash to his feet as they looked up to the Charmander.
Misty looked at Ash as she asked "so what are we gonna do about the Charmander?"
Ash fixed his hat as he answered. "It belongs to a trainer and he is waiting for him to come back. So we should just let him stay there and wait for his trainer."
Brock tilted his head as he asked. "How'd you figure that out?"
Ash pointed to Pikachu. "She helped me figure it out. She is really getting good at charades"
Pikachu puffed out her chest as she enjoyed the praise, despite it being a lie.
Avoline patted Ash on the shoulder as she gestured down the road. "We should head to the center and let Charmander wait for his trainer to come back."
Ash nodded as he waved at Charmander. "Bye, Charmander!" he began to walk down the path towards where the map said that a pokemon center would be.
Charmander waved back as he watched them leave. He focused on the odd human that felt powerful to him and wondered what could be the cause for it.
Ash smiled as he turned back to the road as he felt better helping Charmander.
Brock crossed his arms and asked a question to no one in particular. "I wonder what Charmander's trainer could be doing?"
Misty shrugged as she was the one to answer. "Who knows? Maybe the trainer went off to catch something that would hurt Charmander and left him there for safety."
Brock hummed as he considered it. It was a silly reason since he could have put the Charmander into its Pokeball but he then looked to Pikachu and Eevee who were walking next to Ash instead of being on his shoulders this time. "Maybe he just doesn't like being in its Pokeball."
Ash looked down at his pokemon and nodded "that could be it." he froze in his walking as he looked up in the sky. *sniff sniff*
The rest of the group looked at Ash oddly as they saw him sniff the air.
Brock and Misty were confused about this but Avoline had seen Ash do this before. She looked up and saw a clear sky.
Eevee and Pikachu titled their heads and sniffed the air to see if they could catch what their trainer was smelling. It was then that they figured out what he caught.
Ash stopped sniffing the air before he spun around and ran back to the rock the Charmander was on. He looked over his shoulder and called t his friends. "Wait here, I'll be back in a second!"
Misty and Brock immediately wanted to chase after him since they were worried that he would get himself into trouble and after the bridge fiasco but Avoline put a hand on their shoulders.
"It's ok. I know what he is about to do. He should be running back any minute now.
Pikachu and Eevee wanted to chase after him but with what Avoline said, they chose to stay here. Though they both told themselves that they should have just stayed on his shoulders so he would take them with him anyway.
Avoline looked at Gardevoir and Miltank and pulled out their pokeballs.
Miltank pouted as she crossed her hoove since she didn't want to go back.
Gardeviour was very much the same but she knew that it would be best that they do. Besides, they can dot on Ash later on.
Avoline returned her two pokemon back in her balls and waited for Ash to return.
After a minute, they all saw Ash running back towards them but they saw that he was missing something. He was missing his jacket
Ash called to his friends as he continued running. "Start running! It's gonna rain soon!"
Brock and Misty looked up and could only see clear skies.
Misty looked back to ash as she called back. "How can you tell?!"
Ash ran past them with Avoline, Pikachu, and Eevee following him. "I can smell it in the air!"
Brock and Misty were confused about that but they realized that they were being left behind with the former calling out. "Hey! Wait for us!" they ran after the rest at that
Running at his side, Pikachu and Eevee climbed up to his shoulders as they just rode on him.
Ash deadpanned at them. "Lazy."
Pikachu just stuck her tongue at him
The group made it to the pokemon center in time to avoid the storm that came with them only getting a little wet. They all gave a sigh of relief at that.
Ash had to close his eyes as both Eevee and Pikachu shook themselves on his shoulders, getting him even wetter. He groaned as his head was now dripping. "Thanks a lot, you two." was his monotone response
His friends laughed at that as they made their way towards the front desk
Back with Charmander, he was seen under a pair of jackets that protected him from the rain. He was extremely grateful for the protection that the human gave him. He peeked out from under the jackets to see the heavy rain and wondered where his trainer was. "Where are you, Damian?" he laid his head down and chose to get some rest.
Ash stared out the window as he and his friends were having a meal.
Brock could see the look of concern on Ash's face and asked. "You ok, Ash?"
Ash looked to his friends and saw that they were looking at him with looks of concern. "Yea, I'm fine."
Misty took a bite of her meal and swallowed before asking. "Is this about not being able to call home?"
Apparently, due to the storm, no calls could be made so Ash wasn't able to make a call to either the professor or his mother.
Avoline already knew what was on his mind. "You're worried about Charmander aren't you?"
Ash nodded as he grabbed his glass of water before taking a sip
Brock leaned on the table as he said. "I'm sure that his trainer came back for it so you don't have to worry about it. If anything I would be sadder at the loss of your jacket. The trainer probably might use it himself if it fits him." he joked in a way to lighten the mood which was successful as they all chuckled at it.
"Hahahahahahahaha"
The group paused as they heard another group of people laughing not that far away from them. They looked over to see a blue-haired trainer bragging about the amount of pokemon he had.
"Look at them all."
"Yeah, you're the man Damian."
"Yeah, and with all those cool pokemon you got, no one can beat ya."
The leader of the group, Damian, smirked as he leaned back in the seat. "Yeah. wit all these pokemon, I can beat any trainer out there."
Then one of the other members of the group spoke up. "Hey, what happened to that Charmander you had?"
This caught ash's group's attention and they started to pay attention since they spoke about a Charmander.
Damian looked at the guy and scoffed. "That weak thing? I got rid of it fastest I could."
The group grew angry at the flippant way he was speaking about the Charmander.
"What'd you do with it?"
"I left it on some rock in the woods somewhere."
This immediately told Ash and his friends that this guy was Charmander's trainer.
"That thing was so stupid. Didn't even realize I released it last time I opened the Pokeball. So I told it to wait for me on the rock and I'll come back for it. It fell for it and is probably still waiting for me."
*crack kkrt*
Ash's friend jumped at the sound and looked to Ash to see that the glass that he had in his had shattered and his head was lowered, causing his hat to cover his eyes
One of the members of Damian's group laughed as he said "it's probably still there and getting soaked. Probably wag its tail till it goes out."
Damian began laughing as he said. "Yeah, no doubt. Hahahaha"
Damian's laughter ended when he felt someone grab his collar, pull him out of his seat, and then felt something impact his face hard. He fell over his chair as he held his face in pain.
"You just let your pokemon out there to die!"
Damian moved his hand to look at who hit him and he saw some random kid standing over him with a very dark look on his face. He actually felt apprehensive at the look before his group helped him up.
Ash almost had a murderous look on his face as he stared at Damian. "You willingly sent a pokemon to die and you're LAUGHING!"
Damian scoffed as he moved forward. "Whatsit to ya?"
Ash stepped forward himself as he was tempted to punch Damian again. "How can someone just let a pokemon, who showed you such loyalty to die, like it was nothing?!"
Damian crossed his arms as he scoffed again. "It was my pokemon and I'll do what I want with it. If it dies then whatever."
Ash's anger grew and as his hat covered his eyes, no one saw that his eyes began to glow.
"That's enough!"
Everyone stopped what they were doing as Nurse Joy came up to them.
"This is a pokemon center, not an arena. I will allow no fighting in here."
Damian smirked as he turned away. "Yeah well tell them they were the ones what started it." He walked away as one of his groupies picked up the pokeballs he left on the table.
Ash's friends walked up to him with Brock placing a hand on his shoulder
"Ash…."
Ash then ran away from his friend and out the door into the rain.
"ASH!"
Pikachu and Eevee would have run after Ash but the aura he was giving off froze them in place. (not the pokemon aura but the feeling he gives off)
Avoline, Misty, and Brock looked to Nurse Joy with the young Joy asking. "Do you have any raincoats for us?"
Nurse joy nodded before she ran off to get them
Charmander was woken up by the calls of Spearow around him. He held the jacket closer as a way to avoid being scratched by the bird pokemon. Unfortunately, the claws were going through the jacket and he started to feel them scratch his body.
For minutes, Charmander was doing his best to try and protect himself from his attackers. 'Help!'
Suddenly everything went silent as a presence was felt by all the pokemon there.
The Spearow paused in their attack as they felt a Legend's presence. Feeling it come closer, they all flew away from the rock before landing on the ground, and on instinct, they spread their wings and lowered their head in a way of bowing down to the arriving legendary.
Charmander opened his eyes to see what legendary had arrived and would ask for forgiveness for not showing respect as he was a little hurt at the time. He lifted the remains of the jacket in time for a lightning bolt to show a silhouette of a figure. Once the light died down he saw the human that had given him the berries, milk, and jacket standing only a few feet away.
Ash was panting as he arrived before he ran to the rock and climbed it to see Charmander looking at him. He smiled at the fire type and spoke softly. "Come on. I'm taking you to the Pokemon center for a check-up. Seeing the pokemon shake his head and about to say something, he gently cut the pokemon off. "I know you are waiting for Damian but he isn't coming back. I saw him at the Center and he was saying he abandoned you." It hurt Ash to see Charmander tear up at the news but he knew he had to help Charmander. "I know you didn't want to hear that but it's the truth. You are a wild pokemon now. But I want to help you feel one hundred percent before you can go off and do what you want."
Charmander dropped his head as he was saddened to hear that Damian abandoned him but he still held onto the idea that Damian still wanted him. Looking back up at this human, he chose to go with him. "Ok." he nodded to tell the human that he agreed.
Ash smiled as he took off his shirt and put it over the jackets that were already over the pokemon. He then picked up the fire pokemon and ran back toward the pokemon center not caring that he was getting soaked in the storm and not noticing that the Spearow were still bowing at him. After running for a bit, he saw that his friends were coming his way and smiled as he called out. "Hey!"
His friends were a little startled at his state and Misty ran ahead. "Ash, what do you think you're doing running in the rain without even a shirt?"
Ash shrugged as he was more concerned about Charmander. "As long as Charmander is ok, then I can handle some rain."
His friends shook their heads good-naturedly since they should have known that ash would.
Misty pulled out another rain jacket and swung it over his head so it covered not only him but Charmander as well. "This should help you in keeping him dry."
Ash smiled gratefully as Avoline walked up to him and lifted the jacket to look at the pokemon. With all that she learned, she could tell that the pokemon needed to be healed up at the center but not by much.
"We should get him to the pokemon center and get out of the rain."
The group nodded as they all ran back to the center.
Pikachu and Eevee were nervously waiting patiently for the others to return with Eevee sitting right in front of the door and Pikachu walking back and forth behind her.
Eevee looked behind her at Pikachu with a look of concern. "I wish we went with them to make sure Ash is ok."
Pikachu's ears dropped as she looked towards Eevee. "I do too. But we couldn't even move when Ash ran off." she sighed as she thought back to the time he left the center "an angry legendary is something we all instinctively fear. But we need to be ready in case he is angry again. We have to be there for him to make him feel better." she moved to sit down next to Eevee as they watched the door. "He is too nice a pokemon to feel angry about something like this."
Eevee nodded as she turned her head to watch Pikachu worry about Ash. she then gained a question and asked. "Pikachu….how do you feel about Ash?"
Pikachu froze in place at the question and turned to look at Eevee. She saw the serious look on her face and her shock became downtrodden. She looked away as she said, "I...don't know."
The two jumped a bit as they all returned. They smiled as they ran over to Ash.
Nurse Joy came over and saw all of them drenched and with a Charmander in their grasp
Ash looked at Nurse Joy as he asked "can you look over Charmander. He is a little worn out from being in the rain."
Nurse Joy nodded as she walked over before Taking the Charmander into her arms.
Charmander looked at Ash with a worried look.
Ash smiled reassuringly at the pokemon. "Don't worry. You'll be out of there in no time."
Nurse Joy then took Charmander to the back for a check-up
Ash smiled at knowing that Charmander would be alright but he was brought out of his good mood when the rain jacket was yanked off him and his hat was removed before a towel was put on his head and someone was drying him off.
Avoline was drying off Ash's head as she had a disapproving look on her face. "Honestly, Ash, running out there in the storm was a bad idea. Now hold still so I can get you dry."
Ash whined at the action. "Avoline, I'm old enough to do that myself."
Avoline frowned more as she said. "It's either I do it or I call some of my pokemon to do it for me. Which do you want?"
Ash froze as he remembered some of the times this had happened and he meekly asked. "You don't have Kangaskhan with you, do you?"
Avoline gained a mischievous smirk as she said "I can have her transferred here if you want."
Ash rapidly shook his head as Kangeskahn was another one of his caretakers that dotted on him all the time. If she and Miltank were here, he wouldn't even be able to walk on his own two feet as Kangaskahn would carry him instead. There were many pokemon that treated him as a baby and this journey was to partially to get away from that. Though Avoline being here brought it with him.
Avoline smiled as she enjoyed the small panic Ash had about bringing Kangeskahn here even if the transferring feature was also out since the phones were down.
Misty and Brock chuckled at this as they took off their raincoats.
Later, the group stood at the window looking at the resting Charmander. Nurse Joy had told them that Charmander was just a little worn out, no worse than a pokemon that came out of a small battle. They had told the nurse about Ash giving the Charmander Miltank milk and berries and the nurse smiled at the boy saying that if he didn't, it might have been much worse and might have needed to be put in the healing chamber.
Now Charmander was resting peacefully with his flame burning brightly.
Misty yawned as it was late at night and now she was tired. She wasn't the only one since this was a very tiring day. "Let's get to bed. We don't know if the storm is going to continue tomorrow but if it doesn't we should be ready to head out."
Brock nodded "yeah, Charmander is all better and now he can go, free from Damian."
Avoline nodded as the group began to walk to the rooms they reserved.
Pikachu and Eevee were on Ash's shoulder as they expected him to walk with his friend but Ash started where he was.
Pikachu poked him in the cheek to get his attention. "Ash, come on, we should get to bed."
Ash nodded as he stood there for a second longer before turning around and walking with his friends.
They all entered their rooms and went to bed with Ash being able to skip the examination. But Avoline made sure to tend to his hand as it did bleed from the broken glass.
After an hour, Ash opened his eyes and looked over his shoulder at the other bed to see that Avoline was sound asleep. Looking to his side, he saw Pikachu and Eevee snuggled upon him. Gently slipping out of his bed he tiptoed out of the room.
Once he was out of the room, everyone there opened their eyes and sat up to look at the door.
Avoline smiled fondly at how ash was. "There is no way he can trick us with fake sleeping."
Eevee and Pikachu nodded with the former saying "I now find it hard to sleep when I don't have his tail wrapped around me."
Pikachu nodded as she also felt comfort with Ash's fur as a comforter.
Avoline sighed as she got up from the bed and chose to follow Ash to make sure he didn't get into trouble or fall asleep accidentally.
Ash walked into the room that Charmander was sleeping in and quietly moved to his bedside. He grabbed a chair and sat down before he gently pets the pokemon. "I'm sorry that your trainer abandoned you. But now you are free to do what you want and I hope you might find a trainer that will treat you right." he continued to pet the pokemon before he laid his head down and fell asleep from the exhaustion he felt.
The light that came from the transformation woke up Charmander and he opened his eyes to see the sleeping face of a strange pokemon laying on the bed he was using. He sat up and looked at the pokemon in shock as he felt the presence the pokemon gave off. "Wha….!?"
"Shhhh"
Charmander looked behind him to see Pikachu and Eevee walking into the room with the young joy standing by the door holding it open for them before closing it behind them as she stayed outside.
Pikachu and Eevee jumped onto the bed and walked up to the Charmander.
Pikachu looked between Charmander and Ash before whispering. "I guess you want to know what this is about?"
Charmander nodded as he looked at the strange pokemon that had the same feeling as the human that saved him.
Eevee looked at Pikachu before they nodded at each other in a silent agreement. Eevee then walked to ash before she gently nuzzled his head and laid down before she looked at Charmander. "This is something that we try to keep secret. But with how he has fallen asleep here and would most likely be found out by at least you, we are telling you this to understand."
And so Eevee gave a short rundown about Ash and why this needed to be kept secret.
Charmander listened to the story and like many before was stunned by it. He already knew he would agree to keep this a secret as a favor for helping him.
As this was going on, Avoline was standing outside the door as a guard to make sure no one else found out. She released Chansey, Gardevior, and Miltank to aid her in guarding the hallways. Family or not, she made a promise and she intends to keep it.
Charmander was now laying down as he thought about the story told to him. He promised to keep this a secret but he felt like he should do more. He looked to his left to see Pikachu and Eevee sleeping next to Ash's head. He stared at them for a minute before he nodded to himself at what he planned on doing, especially since he was released from Damian's team.
~next morning~
Everyone had woken up early as they had plans to head off down the road to continue to route 24. Unfortunately, the storm had not let up and they figured that they might have to wait a bit longer before they could safely make their way towards the next city. They were all sitting at a table that was next to the window
Ash was staring out the window at the heavy rain. "Wonder how long the storm is going to keep going?"
Misty shrugged as she ate some breakfast. "Who knows, but I hope it's soon so we can get to Viridian."
Brock nodded before he smiled at Charmander who was eating some of the pokemon food he made. "At least we made a new friend on this little side adventure."
Ash smiled as he looked at Charmander, who was eating with Pikachu and Eevee. "Yeah. though I was surprised that he wanted to come with us."
Avoline giggled as she looked at him. "Ash, you helped him out when he was on the rock the first time we met, you ran out into the rain to bring him back to the Center, and you slept with him to make sure he was ok. I'm not surprised that he wanted to come with you."
Charmander looked up at Ash with his mouth full of food when he heard they were talking about him. He smiled and raised his hand in a wave.
Ash waved back as he wondered. "Though he still looks pale. But it will most likely go back later."
Brock nodded. "He'll be back to full strength soon, I know it."
"Hahahaha, I can't believe you actually rescued that thing."
Everyone in Ash's group turned to see Damian walking towards them. Ash tightened his fist but kept his anger in check,
Damian looked down at Chramander who looked at him with a look of sadness. "What's the point of having such a weak pokemon around? You should've just let the thing out in the rain."
Ash got up from his seat and got in Damian's face. "For someone who calls himself a trainer, you sure have a lousy way of seeing your pokemon. You have to train a pokemon in order to make it strong. If you call yourself a trainer, then train them!"
Damian glared back at Ash. "What's the point? If a pokemon is weak then it will always be weak. And training is nothing but boring so forget it! But I guess have a weak pokemon with a weak trainer makes sense." He pulled out a Pokeball and brought it up as if to show it off. "I got a bunch of rare pokemon that no one ever seen before and I got my aunt to buy them all from some seller. With these pokemon, I don't need to train. She even gave me one of her pokemon she said was of high pedigree."
Avoline made a mental note about how he said that this woman got these pokemon from a seller. These pokemon might be from legitimate sales as there were several businesses that sell pokemon through legitimate means but there was also the possibility that these were poached pokemon. But she would not accuse anyone of this as she was not an officer.
Domain shoved Ash back as he held his Pokeball in a ready position. "Let me show you the difference between a good trainer and a weak one."
Ash glared as he reached for one of his own Pokeball with Eevee and Pikachu jumping on his shoulder, glaring at the blue-haired boy.
"I don't think so."
Before either of the trainers could react, one of them found his arm being pulled back in a painful manner.
"Hey, whatcha think you're doing!?" was Damian's shout as he couldn't see who it was since he shut his eyes in pain as his arm was pulled back
Ash and his friends saw who it was that restrained Damian. "Officer Jenny!"
Domain was then held to the ground as Officer Jenny handcuffed him. She looked up and smiled at Avoline. "Been a long time, Avoline."
Avoline smiled at the officer. "Yes, it has, Officer. But why are you here?"
"I called her over here."
Everyone looked over to see the nurse joy of the center walk up to them.
"When I first saw Damian have so many pokemon, I chose to let it go since I was unaware of his traveling status. However, when I heard how he left one of his pokemon out in the rain for it to die, I decided to check in on his status as a trainer. I had seen how he was just a standard trainer and yet none of the pokemon he had caught were transferred back to one of the ranches that hold onto pokemon. With this knowledge, I can only assume that he has these pokemon illegally since as a standard trainer, he is restricted by law to only have six. And yet he has a little over three times that amount."
Officer Jenny picked up from here. "So in accordance with article 3 in pokemon ownership laws which states that a trainer will not only lose his license as a trainer but also face heavy charges for the mistreatment of pokemon to the point of death and illegally owning pokemon, Damian, you are under arrest and will lose all your pokemon and they will be either be transferred to a ranch head or set free. Your license will be revoked and you will never again have the chance to own pokemon for battling or a pet. Even though you are a minor, since you broke laws that pertain to being a trainer you will be held within the station for an indefinite amount of time till we are able to lock down what should be done with you." She removed the belt he had that held six Pokeballs and then reached into his jacket and pack to remove all the pokemon he had.
"Let go of me! You can't do this to me!"
Officer Jenny lifted him off the ground and moved to the door. "Watch me."
The group watched as Officer Jenny shoved Damian into the police car that was parked outside. Ash, Brock, Misty, Charmander, Pikachu, and Eevee were a bit stunned by the whole thing and stood there for a second till Avoline began to pick up the Pokeballs. She looked at them and spoke, "Are you going to help me with these?"
This shocked them out of their state and they began to pick up all the Pokeballs with Nurse Joy helping.
As they did this, Misty looked to the nurse and asked. "How were you able to call Officer Jenny in this storm. None of the phones are working."
Nurse Joy smiled as she answered. "There is an emergency communications station that allows me to send electronic messages. It has a stronger signal than the public video phones. It is used for emergencies if the normal lines are down. I sent a message yesterday when I heard of what Damian had done."
The group moved to the large table and placed all the Pokeballs down.
Ash sat down as his nerves calmed down before he looked at the Pokeballs. "So what do we do now? Should we release all of the pokemon he had?"
No one had an answer as they sat there thinking about what to do.
It was Avoline that came up with an idea. One that she knew would be appreciated by ash. "I have an idea. Ash, why don't you ask them if they want to go with you?"
Everyone looked to Avoline for a second before Ash asked "why me?"
Avoline smiled as she gestured to him, "ash you adore pokemon like no one I have seen before. I'm sure that you would love to have as many pokemon with you on your journey."
Ash nodded as he would love to have a bunch of pokemon with him but there was a problem with what Avoline said. "Yeah but if any of them wanted to go with me, they would just end up at Professor Oak's lab. So wouldn't it be better to just send them to his lab or one of the pokemon ranches?"
Avoline smiled brighter as she looked at her cousin with a twinkle in her eye.
Nurse Joy quickly caught on to what her baby cousin was referring to and asked "are you sure that would be wise? Does he deserve the privilege?"
Avoline smiled before looking at the confused look of Ash, Misty, Brock, and the pokemon. "I don't think there is another trainer out there that is more deserving. And despite my 'in-training' status, I do have the qualifications to place in the recommendation for him."
Nurse Joy looked at Ash and thought about it for a minute before she smiled herself. True. if someone is willing to run out in a storm to save a pokemon that isn't even his, then he has a love for pokemon that would be perfect for the role."
Ash tilted his head as he asked "what are you two talking about?"
Nurse Joy looked to Avolie before walking to the back to make the call
Avoline looked at Ash with a big smile on her face. "Ash, how would you like to hold more pokemon with you as we continue our journey."
Ash nodded as he loved being around pokemon and would love to have more but he was only limited to the six.
Brock thought about what Avoline could be talking about till it clicked in his mind. "Wait, are you saying you want Ash to take up the role of Junior Professor?"
Avoline smiled as she nodded "yep. Don't you think he would be perfect for the role with his love for pokemon?"
Misty caught on but was a little unclear about the role "wait, I heard of that before. I heard that very very few people are given that role, especially with what is needed to get it."
Ash looked around at his friends before looking at Pikachu, Eevee, and Charmander. The pokemon shrugged as they had no clue about what this was and Ash looked to his human friends. "What are you guys talking about?"
Avoline sat down and faced Ash as she spoke. "The role 'Junior Professor' is for researching behavioral aspects of pokemon whether in the wild or in a trainer's possession. They are given special privileges in order to do research on pokemon. They are allowed to hold more than six pokemon, though the number is based on the one that gave you your Pokedex. What you need to do is write a report about your findings once a month and send it to the regional professor, in this case, Professor Oak."
Misty picked up with what she knew. "But in order to get the title, you need a recommendation from a few qualified members that deal in pokemon care. Like Nurse Joy. but you need it from three people at least before you are given the privilege."
Avoline nodded. "Yes, and you have two already. Nurse Joy is willing to do it and I am qualified to be the second."
Ash tilted his head as he knew he needed one more. "What about the last one?"
Avoline looked to where Nurse Joy went. "Nurse Joy is calling the Professor right now and with how he knows you and how he knows you are about pokemon, I think we can have him be the third person." she then looked Ash in the eye and asked, "so would you like to have more pokemon join you on your journey?"
Ash jumped from his seat and hugged Avoline with the biggest smile he could give "yes, yes yes yes yes yes yesyesyesyesyesyes! Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!"
Everyone laughed at how Ash was acting as he looked like a little kid that just got every toy he wanted.
Later, Nurse Joy came back telling them that Ash had the go-ahead to look over the pokemon and ask them if they wanted to stay with him. They needed to wait till the storm ended before Ash could fully gain the title but Professor Oak said that when they do contact each other, Ash would be granted the title since the professor could not think of anyone better.
Now Ash looked at all the pokemon and despite how he was really glad to have new friends, he still felt bad at how these pokemon might have been treated. He just steeled his nerves and told himself that he would give each of them a choice. Now he just had to know where to start.
Misty looked at Ash and saw his eyes shifting back and forth and she figured he was having trouble where to begin. She chose to help him and looked at all of them so she could just choose a random one. But one of the pokeballs caught her eye. "Hey, Ash why not start with this one?"
Ash looked up at Misty and saw her pick up a Pokeball. an odd one if you asked Ash. it was a Pokeball that had small diamonds embedded in it as if it was the accessory of some rich person. Shrugging, he figured that he might as well start here. He pressed the button and released the pokemon from its ball.
The light of the ball began to take the form of a pokemon that was familiar to them. Out of the ball came a meowth, but unlike the one they all knew this one was obviously female based on the longer eyelashes she had and the large pink bow she had around her neck as well as a gold necklace that had an emerald hanging on it.
The Meowth looked around in confusion as she was unsure where she was. "Wha?...where am I?" It was then she felt the presence of the one that released her. She looked up and saw that she was now looking into the eyes of a smiling human boy. She flinched at the hand that was coming her way since she didn't know him. But she didn't run away since the presence he gave was a bit pressuring yet comforting. She felt him place his hand on her head before he began to pet her. She closed her eyes as she began to enjoy this action
Ash smiled as he heard her begin to pur. "My name is ash. Do you have a name yourself?"
The Meowth gave a dazed look at him as she answered "my name is Meowzie."
End of chapter
When I think of Miltank's voice I can't help but hear a cowgirl kind of talk.
I hate my head. I hate how my writing is leading me towards this. I mean damn it! I only had like two or three pairings for Ash but nooooo~, I started this and bloody hell I keep adding. I hate this. I mean I like fluff and I will try and make this so fluffy that Fluffy himself will say "Da~mn that's fluffy." but damn it
That little bit with Eevee asking Pikachu was something random that came to my head. Kinda leaving the door open for them to be potentials
I also need to stop watching youtube videos, because of one I found I thought of adding, yet another one, and I am going to beat the idea out of my head.
might add Zeraora, and I don't even know the pokemon since I didn't watch the Alola series and I am thinking of adding the pairing. I played the game but didn't like the animation of that season. see my brain is going stupid on the pairing. ps the pokemon is genderless but I give gender
Though I must say that in my head, I keep cutting some out then adding some other, before I cut them out. So paring is still all over the place since I can figure out who it should be
Ok now for the pokemon in the pokeballs. This is your chance to suggest a pokemon to pop out of one of those pokeballs. Please note that not all of the pokemon will stay since they will be released into the wild but a good amount will stay.
Some might end up with Brock and Misty. Not Avoline since she only has two slots left and I have plans for them
Flames will be ignored.
