"Hey, Hinata-san, want a little spar?" Lee asked enthusiastically as soon as she walked into the judo dojo after her yoga class a few rooms away.
She had barely stepped foot in the place where was supposed to meet her cousin when Lee called her name. It seemed like he was waiting for her.
She looked at her cousin from across the room and he simply nodded at her.
"Sure, Lee-san." She said walking toward him at the center of the dojo.
"We'll work on the offense and defense. We'll switched after each one, okay? I start with defense."
"Okay." She said moving toward him without another word.
Hinata grabbed across to Lee's right lapel and pulls him forward by stepping back with her left foot. The young man steps forward with the right foot and delivers a light right blow to her upper chest. He then grabbed Hinata's wrist with one of his hands from the top, stepped back with the left foot and turned forcing Hinata to be thrown with the wrist lock.
She gasped as her back hit the floor with a thud. She looked at the grinning man and stood up getting into position and waited for him.
Stepping forward with his left foot, Lee grabbed both her wrists and attempted a knee kick. Hinata avoided the kick by stepping back with her left foot, forced her right hand against Lee's weak thumb releasing the grip, and continues his motion into a right knife edge strike to the temple.
Hinata then used her right hand to grab Lee's right wrist from the top and twists to the right and ends with an armlock and wrist lock forcing him to submit.
The lavender eyes woman looked down at him triumphantly pulling more on his arm wanting him to say the words she wanted to hear.
"Okay, you win this one." He gasped tapping his hand against the mat. "You can let go! You always play dirty, Hinata."
She giggled and let him go taking a step back from him to get into position to go at him. He stood up quickly and faced her and got into position waiting for her to come at him.
That went on for one more hour with both of them equally giving each other a hard time. Hinata missed it. Sparring with Lee was always fun because of his energy. He was such a positive person and it rubbed off on her every time.
"That was good, Hinata-san!" He grinned enthusiastically standing up. "Wouldn't expect anything less from Neji's little cousin."
"Thank you, Lee." She smiled as he extended a hand to help her up.
They both turned to her cousin who was standing there waiting patiently with his arms crossed.
"Hey Neji. Come on. Your turn!" The raven haired man screamed clapping his hands loudly.
Her cousin huffed but still got up there as Hinata got down stretching her arms. She turned and walked off hoping to go unnoticed by her cousin.
But that would have been too good.
"Where are you going?" She heard him ask and she stopped to look back at him with a reassuring smile.
"To cool off." She informed him. "I'm just going to walk around the center a little."
"Don't be long." He said sternly as Lee attacked him.
She sighed shaking her head and left the room. Taking a deep breath, she slowly walked down the hallway, still hearing Lee's enthusiastic voice and encouragements as he fought her cousin.
If only Neji realized that she wasn't a child who needed to be followed all the time. She loved her cousin to death but his overprotectiveness was sometimes smothering. And she wished both her father and him would give her more liberty. She was tired of having to explain her every actions and not be able to befriend whoever she wants.
And she had one person in mind at that last thought.
"So, you're really not just a crazy flower girl."
Hinata quickly whipped around tensing all over. Her body relaxed when she saw the familiar blond male approaching her from behind.
She smiled brightly as she watched him approach her. "Naruto-kun!"
The sight of him made her stomach flutter and her spine tingle. He always managed to do that to her. She just wished their friendship wasn't a secret. She wished she could see him whenever she wanted and not just whenever she was sure she wasn't being watched.
"I didn't know you had it in you." He continued and she blinked at him wondering what he was talking about, until she realized where they were and what she was doing just minutes ago. "You had me watching you through a glass wall like a creep for over thirty minutes."
She lowly laughed and clasped her hands behind her shifting on her feet nervously.
She then smiled shyly looking up at him as he stood in front of her. "I told you I knew how to defend myself." She informed him and he nodded in agreement as he stood right in front of her.
"You did." He said lifting a hand to push her long hair over her shoulder. "I thought you only meant with knives or that long ass dagger you keep under your pillow."
She smiled looking incredibly proud at his words and trying to ignore the tingly feeling his hand grazing her cheek brought her.
"You got really good skills. You surprised me out there." He continues as the corner of his lips tucked up, his eyes sparkling with interest.
"Thank you." She smiled at his compliments before a thought came to mind and she looked at him questioningly. "But what are you doing here?"
"You told me to come." He said with a shrug as he dropped his hand to grab her small one causing a soft blush to appear on her cheeks.
"Uh?" She blinked. "No, I didn't."
He tilted his head to the side looking at her with a raised eyebrow and a teasing smile. "You told you came here on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for your yoga class. And told me the time. That's basically asking to meet you."
She giggled shaking her head as he squeezed her hand a little.
Her blush deepened as she looked up at him. "W-We were just discussing our habits and hobbies. I didn't ask you to come here."
"You know I like seeing you. You were dangling a bait to attract me." He smirked as her face got even redder and took a step closer. "You knew what you were doing."
"N-Not at all." She gasped trying to pry her hand away but he only tightened his grip and pulled her closer.
"Yeah yeah." He scoffed rubbing his thumb across the back of her hand as his eyes roamed over her beautifully blushing face and her small pout across her pink lips. "Wanna go for some ice cream. There's a place close by."
She bit on her lower lips shaking her head. "I can't, Naruto-kun. My cousin is here."
"So? I don't care." He scoffed
"I know you don't." She smiled shaking her head. "But I do."
"Well you shouldn't." He lightly tucked on her hand in encouragement. "Let's go?"
"Naruto-kun, no." She giggled. "My father would be very angry."
He tilted his head to the side smirking. "How angry would he be if he knew we've been talking every night for the past three months?"
Her breath hitched. "Really angry?"
"And how angry would he be if he knew that I've come to see between your classes multiples times?"
"He would explode." She answered.
"And how angry would he be if he knew you sent your driver to give bento boxes to one of my guys for me a few times?" He asked again and she lowered her head to hide her growing smile.
"I see your point."
"And how angry would be if-"
She giggled waving her free hand to stop him. "Okay, okay. I get your point!"
He nodded slightly jerking his head behind him. "So, let's go. You're already in too deep anyways."
She shook her head again. "It's different. Because I'm here with Neji."
"I don't give a fuck about your stuck-up cousin."
She gasped at his choice of words.
"He is not stuck-up." She defended her cousin earning a scoff from Naruto.
"What?" He smirked and continued and moved toward her teasingly. "Stuck-up, pompous, overbearing, pretentious, snob-"
"Naruto-kun, stop it." She chuckled and moved backward until her back against the wall behind her. "That's not nice."
"But it's true." He said moving closer releasing her hand to place his hands on either side of her head. "So, ice cream?"
She shook her head chewing on her bottom lip. "I really can't."
"You're no fun." He slightly pouted leaning closer to look at her face. "What's the worst that could happen?"
His proximity made her gulp. "M-My father could permanently lock me away for good."
Her breath hitched as he moved one of his hand and trailed his fingers over the soft skin of her cheek before cupping it.
"Your old man is stuck up too." He scoffed.
His eyes softened and he looked her over inching a little closer to her.
"Seeing you fight that guy really did something to me." He said barely above a whisper and her breath hitched at the way his voice slightly deepened toward the end.
She unconsciously licked her lips and his blue orbs shifted to them.
"You really do something to me." He added locking his eyes to her lavenders ones.
"Naruto-kun." She breathed.
She could feel his hot breath fanning over her face and she moved closer to him almost having her back leaving the wall she was leaning against.
"Hinata!" She heard her cousin's voice call making her jump a little and snap her out of her trance.
Naruto huffed mumbling something under his breath before stepping. He looked down at her looking unhappy at her cousin's interruption.
"I guess that's my cue. Wouldn't want you permanently locked away." He took a step back and cupped her cheek one more time. "I'll call you tonight." He said and turned around the corner and leaving.
"O-Okay." She said more to herself since he was already gone.
