Story Start!

Studying was not fun.

Koneko didn't like studying, because while she was okay when it came to smarts, she wasn't the smartest girl in the world. She just seemed smarter because she was sarcastic when she spoke to people, and she was good at pointing out the obvious. It made her come across a lot smarter than she actually was.

Just like how Naruto seemed to be the opposite.

He was actually very smart.

"Okay, this math equation is just like strawberry yogurt-"

His explanations were fucking insane though, he had trouble explaining things a way most people could understand. Apparently his brain worked different, and he had even more trouble studying than her, so he invented a snack and food related method to teach himself how to memorize how things worked. He was very good at learning, but the examples he needed to learn made it hard for him to teach others.

'Still, this cake is so good... and I've never tasted this tea before.. it makes me kind of tired...' Koneko just yawned when she should have been studying. Their date was a study date, so she needed to study and show him her good points. That she wasn't just cute and sassy, that she could be smart like other girls could be.

More than everything, she didn't know when the right time to go for the kiss was. So whenever she got nervous, she ate more cake and drank more tea. It was really starting to put weight on her bladder the longer it took for her to go for it.

She stared at his lips sometimes to clue him into what she wanted, but everytime he would notice she looked away and hid her embarassment, which defeated the purpose of trying to get him to kiss her. She wanted to make the first move, just as much as she wanted him to make the first move and kiss her. She didn't know what she wanted more, and it was super awkward for her to just come out and say she wanted to kiss.

"Hey Naru-"

His thumb brushed against her lip, and got some cake frosting right off of it, and she saw him lick it off his thumb, before he grinned at her.

"It's really sweet."

She turned bright red and stood up, before she walked towards the bathroom.

"Gotta use the ladies room." Koneko needed to relieve her bladder and cool herself down. That was such a damn smooth move that her face was burning bright red from it, and she saw that stupid grin on Naruto's face when he did that.

...

"Bwah..." Naruto grabbed his heart.

He hoped that didn't look stupid when he made that move on her, his heart was beating 100 miles a minute. He grinned whenever he felt nervous, but he hoped he could at least disguise that grin as a goofy confident grin instead of an awkward one. He saw the cake on her lip, and he wanted to test the waters to see how she would react to him touching them. Her mouth was so small, and her lips were small, but soft and plump somehow. It was like despite the fact she had a smaller mouth, she had nicely sized lips for her face, and they were so soft.

He took a moment to calm himself down by looking at his phone.

The new creatures we've noticed are called devils, they are demons from the Christian and Jewish religions, I've made contact with them. They aren't a threat.

"Good..." Naruto could let Iruka handle that, because if than man said they weren't a threat, then Naruto wasn't going to bother to worry about it. He had bigger fish to fry at the moment, and that fish was just waiting for him to catch it.

Her.

Her lips that was.

Koneko came out of the bathroom just as Naruto started to calm down, messages from Iruka always calmed him down. It let him know his company was in good hands, that he could relax without having to worry about it.

"So... want to take a break from studying... and... play a video game?" Koneko asked with a slightly forced smile. As long as they were studying, she was sure that she wouldn't be able to work up the courage to go for the kiss. "Winner gets to make the loser do something... maybe the loser has to ki... loser has to do what the winner wants them to do." Koneko would make Naruto close his eyes and hold his breath, then she would go for the kiss.

Naruto grinned at her.

"You're on."

-5 games later-

"Okay... best... 7 out of 13..."

"Koneko... stand up, take your jacket off, close your eyes, tilt your head up... and count to 10." Naruto gave his instructions with a serious look on his face. Koneko's face turned bright red, before she nodded her head and stood up. She was wearing a jacket over her shirt, so she did remove it and tossed it to the ground.

Then she closed her eyes.

She counted slowly, her heart speeding up as she counted, she stuck her lips out a little as she expected Naruto to work up the courage to kiss her. She continued to count, and soon enough she couldn't hear herself think over the sound of her heart beating in her ears.

She opened her eyes.

Naruto was eating her cake.

"Hey-"

The second Koneko was about to shout at Naruto in anger, he did kiss her. He captured her lips while her mouth was slightly open, and she got a taste of the cake. She got a taste of her sweet first kiss, flavored by an amazing cake. Naruto had to grab her shoulders to steady them, and he had to lean down. The top of her head only came up to the middle of his chest after all, there was a huge height difference. Still, he did his best and lowered himself to be able to meet her lips with as little awkardness.

Static lightning flooded her nervous system.

Her toes curled and her fingers dug into his shoulders as she grabbed onto him just to keep standing, her knees weak. The electric signals from all over her body were shooting off, it was like somebody hooked a jumper cable up to every cell and nerve in her body, then floored it to send her into overdrive.

4 seconds.

It wasn't a make-out session, it was a tender kiss. It might have been 4 seconds, but she felt the world stop for her to enjoy the moment. When he stood up and pulled away, she wrapped her arms around his neck and was lifted off of her feet. She didn't want the kiss to end just yet, she wanted to continue it.

That grin.

That stupid fucking grin was what greeted her.

She let go and dropped to the floor, her legs didn't hold her up and she landed straight on her butt. She fell onto her back and looked up at the ceiling.

"... Wow..."

"Wow?"

"Wow." Koneko agreed with the question, because everything about that kiss had just been wow for her. The tension leading up to it, the shock of him eating the cake, and finally the moment he surprised her with the cake flavored kiss.

"Hey Koneko?"

"Yeah?"

"Catch."

"Ca-?" Koneko looked up as a the rest of the cake fell and landed right on her face, covering her entire face with frosting and cake goodness. She closed her eyes and laid her head back down, before she started to lick the cake from everywhere her tongue could reach. "Jerk." Koneko smiled right after saying that.

Her first kiss.

Followed by cake to the face, but the cake was really tasty, and the mood wasn't even ruined by him dropping cake on her. If anything, the light heartedness just made her love the kiss before it even more.

She got up.

She grabbed Naruto and pulled him into a second kiss, using her face to cover HIS face in as much cake as she could cover it in. Soon enough, both of them had cake on their face, and smiles across their lips.

A sweet first kiss.
