Ruby is a upper class citizen, living a privileged life due to her family status as powerful hunters. They both go through their own trials as they find comfort in each other. Only their type of relationship is forbidden due to social classes. CHAPTER 19 UP! R/R!

19. A Wind of Change

Author's Note: I am so sorry it took so long to get this chapter up. I was basically ghosted by my partner in this story and beta reader as I mentioned in the previous chapter. It's much harder to work on this by myself. Plus I had to deal with all the editing, which was what she always did. That takes time too. I really hope I got everything. This chapter is worth waiting for. Big changes are coming for characters. You will understand it once you read it.

There's a focus on a couple that I don't want to spoil that seems very out of place since it wasn't introduced in the beginning. This was because my beta reader and partner for this story was against the pairing. I hate it because I wanted it to happen. I was such a Bumblebee shipper. But I had to compromise so Illia loving Blake but it being unrequited was allowed.

Ruby could only sit down as she looked at her positive pregnancy test. So many thoughts were running through her mind. It explained the reason why she had been so sick during the past few weeks. All this time, she had ended up pregnant from sexual relations with Jaune. How would Ruby even explain her pregnancy to everyone? Ruby knew this meant she had to reveal to Kai about her affair. How would Kai even react to the fact she's been cheating on him? She could imagine the heartbroken look on his face and the feeling of betrayal.

"I can't believe this." These were the only words Ruby could let out. It was sinking in that this was really happening and this wasn't a dream. There was a sense of nervousness because there was a part of her that felt like she wasn't ready to be a mother. After all, As of today, Ruby is seventeen years old. Basically considered an adult. However, the fear of Jaune abandoning her because of this. That was a factor that scared Ruby more than anything else. Even more so than telling her father. Would Jaune even be accepting or even content over her pregnancy when she tells him? Jaune had addressed that it was expected of him to father a child due to the high risk in the lower class. So would Jaune be relieved to do what was expected of him. It still scared her because there was still that possibility he didn't want to be a parent so young.

Though Ruby had wondered what if her father learns that someone else besides Kai, a 'soldier' was sexually active with his younger daughter. Ruby had mutually allowed it because she was 'infatuated' as her father would say. Only seeing the disapproving look on her father's face because Ruby knew that she was bringing disgrace on the family. General Taiyang would even keep her locked up and seek to find her soldier lover. Interrogating every single one of them to the point of embarrassment since he wouldn't be doing his job as a General but an overprotective father. Ruby couldn't handle that, but unless she used a hologram to buy time once she started to show. However, those types of things were from Atlas and couldn't get her hands on that in time.

"Ruby. . . This isn't good." Blake worriedly answered. Ruby didn't even look up at her, it more likely had to do with another lecture that was going to happen. "You certainly can't pass this off as Kai's because he knows that you didn't have sexual relations with him." She was walking back and forth without even looking at her friend. This was mainly because Blake knew there was no real way to explain Ruby's pregnancy without revealing that she's going to have an affair. They can't pretend it's Kai Li's, because he knows he didn't have sex with her. Ruby's reputation would be ruined if the public knew she was sleeping around with some soldier that knocked her up.

"I know, I can't pass it off as Kai's." Ruby desperately cried out. She sat in a nearby chair while trying to think of a cover story. Her voice had almost broken as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I don't even know what to do." While she knew this was a troublesome situation. Even though both of them knew the risk involved when Jaune and Ruby had engaged in their sexual encounters. At the time, it was both the two teenagers who didn't care because they finally had each other. Was it selfish for them to not even think about the consequences of their actions? "The gossip will only get worse if anyone knows about this and that it's not my fiancé."

Blake's face softened as she sat next to Ruby and touched her shoulder. "Miss Rose. It's your birthday. So this doesn't need to be discussed right now. We still have time to think of something before anything starts to show...maybe we can use dust even when it does, or something. I always promised to look out for you. Even with this. I will keep my word. I promise." She gave a soft smile before gently taking out a cloth to clean up the tears from her face. "We have to get you all fixed up. Your makeup is getting a bit of a mess from your crying."

Ruby had wiped away her tears as she looked at her reflection to make herself look presentable. Everything was always polished in the mansion. "I know my father will be wondering where I am. I better find him. Or even my sister-"

"Ruby!" Yang called out from a distance before Ruby could even finish her sentence.

"Sis, where are you?" Ruby had called back. Blake had quickly stood up because it was inappropriate behavior for a bodyguard to console them. They were supposed to be friends with them. Not develop any sort of attachment because it would be a sign of weakness. It was part of the reason they had to hide their friendship.

"Speaking of. . . Say, Blake, why don't you dance with Yang." Ruby suggested. Maybe it was because a part of her did not want to deal with Blake. It was already hard enough not to deal with. Ruby knew the stress that her bodyguard was going to build up. She didn't want Blake to worry about her.

"Yang, I am over here." Ruby called out to her. She wasn't aware of Blake being in a panic but Though her thoughts did wander to Yang would also seek to find the 'soldier' that got her pregnant. So telling her would be not better than dad without relieving that Kai's not the father.

"There you are, sis. Why are you here by yourself? Kai's been looking for you." Yang addressed as she crossed her arms. "Dad's been wondering as well. As he wants you and Kai to be seen together."

"Okay. I am sure he wants to dance or something with this music playing. Perhaps you two can join me?" Ruby insisted. She needed to find a way to escape her birthday party because Ruby would rather be with Jaune. Regardless, she had to tell him about the pregnancy. Ruby couldn't afford to wait to tell her lover this news. This was too big and troublesome to wait even a few days. Besides, Jaune was a source of comfort for her. Just seeing him would give her the strength to get through this pregnancy.

"I really don't know. Wouldn't that seem weird. . . This is more of a love song that's playing." Blake answered rather nervously, though Ruby had wondered if it was from embarrassment. That deep down, the two of them were always trying to hide something that was there. At least with Yang, who seemed to be more having sex with all those men to distract herself. Yang was always questioning if she liked women as well. However, this type of thing was unacceptable to the public. Also being the daughter of General Taiyang, she couldn't really explore her sexuality. The fact someone she would be interested in like Blake in a sense was already taken. Already have a boyfriend in Sun Wukong. "Don't you think, Yang?"

"Mm, mm. . . Well. . . We could keep our distance while we danced together. It wouldn't look so weird." Yang flustered a bit. Ruby couldn't tell if it was because she was nervous or because her heart was pounding. Gently nudging Blake in Yang's direction with a smile on her face. It was a relief that Sun Wukong wasn't around. Ruby could imagine the jealousy over any secret attraction from her big sister and friend. "I mean unless you want to be closer."

"N-nooo... I-I-I m-mean, I want too. I just should be staying here and guarding Ruby. More importantly, talk about that-" Blake quickly started to talk about her pregnancy as Ruby grew nervous shaking her head. The last she wanted was Yang to find out. Even though she was having sexual flings as well.

"You know. Don't worry about it. We can talk later." Ruby quickly interrupted with a gentle touch to her shoulder. "Okay." Ruby tried to give Blake a smile to indicate she was fine. Even if it was partly false.

"All right, Miss Rose. If you insist." Blake nodded her head in agreement before taking Yang's hand as they headed off to the dance floor.

However, Ruby was eager to see Yang and Blake dance together. She wasn't really in the mood to be at her own birthday party. Yes, even though she knew at least Yang's attraction to Blake. Blake very well may not have felt the same way. It made her feel guilty to be forcing something that may be unrequited. Especially when all of it appeared to be a distraction. Not wanting Blake to be watching her, so she would make her escape.

Jaune. This was the reason Ruby didn't have any desire to really celebrate her birthday. She had to tell her boyfriend about her pregnancy. Regardless if he wanted to be involved or not. There was still that growing fear of Jaune wanting Ruby to get rid of the child or rejecting her.

Yes, Ruby had thought about terrible things under the circumstances. Such as getting rid of the baby. Namely, because Ruby couldn't live in a world without Jaune. It made her feel horrible. Even sick to her stomach. To even think of a horrendous action. Ruby knew it was selfish. Adding to the fact, she already loved this unborn child inside her. This was just a complicated situation that Ruby knew she couldn't think about right now.

"There's my little girl. Happy birthday, my little Rose." General Taiyang greeted with eagerness before embracing his youngest daughter. Ruby returned the sentiment as she hugged her father. The general quickly placed a kiss on her forehead before moving away. General Taiyang gave Ruby a proud fatherly smile. "I can't believe you're seventeen. You're growing up so fast. Soon you're going to be married and have kids of your own."

"Quicker than you realize." Ruby murmurs. She placed a hand to her chest, Ruby wanted to tell her father about her pregnancy. In all accounts, Ruby knew her father would be enthusiastic about becoming a grandfather. It's something General Taiyang had been wanting since he arranged this marriage to Kai Li. The problem was how Ruby would tell her father that she met another man. That a 'soldier' that she was having an affair with was the guy that knocked her up.

"What was that, sweetie?"

"Oh, I just wanted to thank you for this party. It really means a lot." Ruby backed out of confessing the news of her pregnancy out of worry. It wasn't the best time. There was the matter of telling Kai Li about this as well. She would even have to convince her own fiancé that this pregnancy was a blessing. Even if this baby wasn't even his child. Ruby knew it was only a wishful thought.

"Why don't you go find that fiancé of yours?" General Taiyang insisted. Ruby didn't want her father suspicious of anything. She apprehensively smiled at her father. That worries about what he would do if Ruby did tell him about her pregnancy.

Ruby had made her way towards the kitchen, but it wasn't long before she heard a familiar voice. "Ruby. There you are. Everyone is expecting us to dance." It was Kai Li. It was only proper being her fiancé. Ruby knew she was so close to getting out of the mansion. However, she did realize that everyone would notice her missing at her own birthday party. This meant Ruby had to convince Blake to pretend to be her in order to escape the celebration.

"All right, let's go." Ruby politely agreed. Taking Kai's hand, Ruby was led to the dance floor. She could feel Kai Li's hand wrap around her waist. Despite the uneasiness, Ruby knew she had to let her fiancé hold her close. She gently reached out and touched his shoulder. The music began to play as they started to dance around the ballroom. Ruby could feel everyone was staring at them. The problem was Ruby didn't want all this attention. How was she to slip away?

Ruby had kept glancing over at the clock above the entrance. She thought the music was never going to stop. Maybe it was that eagerness to see her friends in the lower class...and more importantly, her boyfriend Jaune. Ruby felt a growing irritation over Kai touching her so closely. Even though he was a gentleman, Kai did tend to hide his perverted actions towards her. She was sure he was stroking her butt while they were dancing. Maybe it was due to her hormones. At least try to talk with Blake along, so she could switch out with her and leave.

All of a sudden, Kai had pressed his lips to Ruby's. Her eyes widened in surprise because Ruby certainly wasn't expecting it. Kai didn't seem to pull away either, but she could feel as if he was trying to take off a sleeve from her dress. What is he trying to do? Ruby pulled away in discomfort. I felt just like that time in the kitchen when he was heavily drunk.

"Kai, you're not drunk again, are you?" Ruby asked Kai with concern in her voice. She didn't like the way he acted when he had alcohol. He acted more like a scoundrel than the friendly young man that Ruby was supposed to marry. She barely would recognize her friend, who was supposed to be her future husband.

"What makes you say that? I just want to be with my woman." Kai answered with a look of desire in his eyes. Ruby wasn't sure where this was all coming from. It made her increasingly uncomfortable. She had moved up the sleeve of her dress and looked away from him.

"Kai Li. I thought you were a gentleman. After all, you're showing me off. No need to do more." Ruby worriedly told him, while trying to walk away. Kai had grabbed her wrists as he touched her cheek. Ruby could feel the warmth of his hand as he stared into his eyes.

"I think it's time we take our relationship further, Ruby. I want us to sleep together. Even if it's before our marriage. I just can't hold my desire for you any longer. You don't know how hard it's been to control these feelings I have for you." Kai confessed to Ruby, this was more to her surprise. She had just assumed that this was simply an arranged marriage. Not that Kai was in love with her,, and he thought she felt the same way. This was horrible.

"Can we at least discuss this another time?" Ruby had removed his grip as she put her arm close to his own. "I just don't think this is the best situation to even talk about our intimate relationship. It feels like your rushing me. We're right in the middle of my birthday party. It's not proper to sneak off in the middle of things. Plus, I'm still not feeling well. Maybe, it's just because I'm hungry... I better go get something to eat." She had quickly gone off to find her escape. There was no question now that Ruby had to find a way to their lower class.

"I understand. I get carried away. If your not comfortable. I shouldn't be asking you such things. I apologize." Kai regretfully told Ruby, she could see him looking away. Even backing away in more of shame. Ruby didn't want to be angry at her fiancé. After all this was the least of her problems now. She felt like her mind was going in every direction that she didn't hear Kai let out in grief. "Maybe I did drink too much. To hurt you like that. Force you to meet my demands. I never wanted to be anything like those others in arranged marriage."

"Kai...it's not your fault you were acted this way. We all have these moments that make us do things that can be a mistake or not." Ruby glanced at Kai with her sliver eyes. Tears grew down her face because of the irresponsibility that had taken place with her and Jaune. She slowly placed a hand on her stomach to feel her child growing inside her. The fact they didn't use protection when they consummated their relationship on more than one encounter. Due to their own desires for each other. Ruby knew didn't want to think this way. It was more there was a deep conflict. She knew it may be too quick to tell Jaune about all this. However she had to know about this pregnancy. No matter how conflicted Ruby was at the moment.

"I just feel so foolish." Kai regretfully told his lover as Ruby gave him an embrace. A few tears streamed down his cheek that he had quickly wiped away.

"You're a good person. Don't beat yourself over this." Ruby told her fiancé before letting go with a smile. She gently placed a kiss on his cheek. They were friends in her eyes and regardless they were going to be married. Ruby knew that regardless they would have to work this every angle of their relationship. Even if it would end up a loveless one. "Kai, you can certainly forgive yourself." Kai had let out a smile. Why was it so luckily to have a wonderful fiancée like Ruby Rose. So kind, and was quick to forgive others over their actions.

"Anyway, I better head to the kitchen. The chef wants to ask me something about the entrée menu. After all it has to be extra special for my birthday." Ruby knew that was a lame excuse but it was the best she head to the kitchen. She knew that this was her chance to get out of here. Even with all the chefs busy in the kitchen.

Ruby went passed all the chefs as all these pleasant aromas such as garlic, peppers, the scent of different meats had filled their air. Lids of pots were opening and closing. There were being filled while seeing all the chefs in their white uniforms. Ruby acted like she was opening the window to get some fresh air. The windows were further distance within the room and the chefs were too occupied. Ruby used to sneak out this way all the time when she was younger. It would be easier to not be detected if she didn't use the door. Before she could even get one leg out. She could hear the sound of Blake's voice. "Miss Rose, I can't believe you're really going to sneak out of your own birthday party. Is the lower class really more important when everyone comes to celebrate your special day."

"I should have know you be following me. Come on, Blake. I need to see my soldier lover." Ruby protested as she tried to move Blake aside, but she had kept blocking her. There wasn't anything restricting Ruby from using her semblance. However, there was still that fear that something happened to the baby. Ruby couldn't do anything until she saw a doctor. At least tell her everything would be fine if she could use it or not during her pregnancy. That's even if she could get away with anyone believing that this baby was her fiancé's. "I know it seems crazy to go off in the middle of the night to spring this to him but I need to know how he feels."

"Do you really see him right now, Miss Rose? You shouldn't be wandering off. Not in the middle of the night and your condition." Blake warned as she quieted her voice in case someone walked in. "I mean, telling him about your pregnancy is something you can't wait to deal with until tomorrow."

Ruby tried to hold back her tears, she couldn't hold back what was happening. It was like a nail being hammered over and over again. No matter what seemed to happen, there was always a bump of turmoil. "I can't wait for tomorrow, okay. Blake, you don't understand the situation. Kai Li wants us to sleep together. At this point after the party is over. I just can't do it. I don't love him in that way. Furthermore, I am stuck in a loveless marriage on my end. He thinks I love him back because I don't know what to say without hurting his feelings. It's already bad enough I have this guilt because I'm in love with a soldier and now having his baby."

"There may be another opportunity to tell him. Once dad finds out. He won't let me out of his sight. I am his precious little girl, after all." Ruby shifted from frustration to sadness. "Dad will never understand. I don't think he'll ever see me as an adult. Despite the fact, I am getting married, even if it's to someone I don't love. That I am mostly doing this for him in the first place. That I don't want to disappoint the family."

Blake frowned. She could understand the desire to please a family member. Even though her parents loved her. Blake wanted to give them a better life. It was already hard enough living in this world as a Faunus. Blake wanted nothing more to please her father by changing the way humans were seen as monstrous creatures. "I can understand how you feel, Miss Rose. If this is what you want for your birthday. To be with the man you love. I really shouldn't be getting in your way. I'll pretend to be you for the rest of the party until you get back. Which I can assume would be tomorrow morning. Being that it's already getting late."

Ruby reached out her arms to hug Blake. "Thanks so much."

While Blake was pretending to be her, so she could slip away. Ruby couldn't only think about Jaune. How was she going to break the news of her pregnancy to him? Would he even take the news well when she told him he was going to be a father? Ruby wasn't sure what to do about the baby, a part of her wanted to keep it. Even with the gossip that could spread about her or the baby. It didn't matter to Ruby if Jaune would be by her side through all this. Ruby was not someone that would so rarely get scared. This was one of those times at least Ruby admitted to herself that it was one of those times. Things like fighting Grimm was where she was comfortable, but having a child was completely unknown to her. Ruby wanted the support and acceptance that Jaune would be there for her.

Ruby had put on her red cloak hood, as she didn't even look back before sneaking out one of the first floor windows. It was easy and simple because it was just two steps. Now, Ruby knew she was pregnant. She knew that it was important to be extra careful with the baby's sake. That means restricting herself to fighting Grimm or training. This was something Ruby knew would be hard for her to achieve. Having to stay on the sidelines because she would have the capability to fight and protect people. However, Ruby knew this would have to come eventually if she had to have a child with Kai. So in a sense, it was more worth it because this was her child from her union with Jaune. A man she was truly in love with and unexpectedly having a baby with him. It gave her a feeling of happiness. Ruby couldn't hold it in anymore and to find a way to address Jaune about her pregnancy. That's all that matters. She didn't care so much about celebrating her birthday anymore.

Was it wise for Ruby to use her semblance? She didn't think so with her pregnancy out of fear of harming the baby. Maybe because she felt like going at high speeds as if she were flying as transformed into rose petals. Ruby feared it could cause potential harm, despite having an aura to protect her. Would her own aura enhance to protect their unborn child? Every life form did have an aura, but potentially it would take time to develop. Ruby touched the lower part of her stomach as if she closed her eyes. Maybe it was the fact there was a nervousness that overwhelmed her. How was she going to break the news to Jaune, when it was such a big surprise for her.

Meanwhile, back in the lower class, Nora was following Jaune around. Nora was following him around as she wanted him to make a surprise romantic gesture. Whether it be having sex or asking Ruby to marry him. Jaune had explained that she was already engaged to someone else. It was an arranged marriage, so certainly Ruby couldn't get out of it. People in town would be gossiping on the matter about Ruby to his embarrassment.

"Jaune, next time she visits you can make it romantic for you and Ruby." Nora insisted. She continued to follow Jaune around like a puppy. It seems she would stop for a while from interfering in his relationship with Ruby. At least before continuing to do so for her own amusement. Nora was relentless to the point of ignorance. No matter what Jaune told her, she wasn't going to stop.

"You're still trying to get the two of us to have sex." Jaune answered back as he put a hand to his forehead. He was greatly embarrassed by all her suggestions from her experiences with Ren. Detailed information Jaune didn't want to hear or need. Jaune just wanted to tell Nora that he and Ruby already slept together. However they wanted to keep the fact they had made love a secret. If anyone got word of their romantic relationship or the fact they were intimate. This could lead to disaster on all ends. "I told you I don't want you meddling."

"Come on Jaune. At this point you should be making love. It would be such a great birthday present for her. This night can be so special." Nora swooned. Only wishing she could picture her two friends' intimate encounter. In a way, Jaune being that prince charming sweeps her off her feet. "So romantic."

"Enough Nora." Jaune insisted as he grabbed some party decorations. He didn't want to hear it anymore. His cheeks were all flustered as Jaune turned away from Nora.

Nora had put her hand on his shoulder. "Will you think about it or at least think about proposing to her? I would love for a double wedding to happen."

Jaune took her hand off his shoulder before turning over to look at her. "Nora. I told you that Ruby's already engaged. Proposing to her is out of the question. Besides, Ruby wouldn't want to marry me. I'm basically the other man in her life. When this Kai Li is the one she's supposed to be marrying. Our love is forbidden. Ruby's from a proper wealthy family. What can I even offer her?"

Nora shook her head in disapproval. This was the first time in so long she had ever seen Jaune so happy. Maybe even more than when he was with Pyrrha. There was no way that Nora was going to allow Jaune to make another mistake. Leaving her friend in another depressive state again. No, Nora planned to have Jaune fight for Ruby. "True. However, if you give her another option then perhaps she would leave this fiance of hers. Ruby did choose to date you despite already being in a relationship. You won't really have the option of marriage if she goes through with this wedding Jaune. Do you want to lose her?"

"Absolutely not. I love Ruby." Jaune quickly answered as he held onto the box of decorations tightly. He almost thought the box was going to break with his strength.

Nora had put a hand onto her hip. "So what are you going to do then?"

Jaune couldn't really say much more but answer. "I'll think about it."

Ruby simply passed the statue, she didn't want to stand and wait. Even though she had brought Crescent Rose with her for protection. She didn't tend to use it because her focus was getting to Jaune. Ruby went through the secret entrance as she ran to her friend's house. Having to hide her upper class clothing under her red hood. Ruby took a breath, since going in meant she couldn't turn back. She had to try to tell Jaune of her pregnancy. Ruby wasn't sure how to tell him was the one thing, she wasn't sure how to break the news to him. She gave a gentle knock since Ruby didn't have her spare key before going inside.

"Ruby!" Jaune quickly moved the box of decorations and shoved them under a chair. "I didn't think you were going to get here so early." Jaune pushes the party trinkets with his foot.

"I missed you so much." Ruby answered as she rested her head on Jaune's chest. It was relieving for her that he wasn't wearing his arm. To feel the warmth of his body was something Ruby really needed. Being in Jaune's arms was security for her because he trusted and understood her better than anyone. Beyond the fact, they were lovers. "It's just so nice just being with you again." Ruby couldn't about the last time they were together back in her bedroom. He was apprehensive over her well-being. It touched her so much, and they ended up making love again despite her condition. They had ended up conceiving this baby, but Ruby could only wonder how she should tell him.

Jaune had wrapped her arms around Ruby as he felt her petite body cling close to his own. He kissed her temple before he reluctantly let go of her. "I missed you too. How have you been since I last saw you? Has your sickness gone away?" Jaune wanted to make sure his girlfriend was okay with everything going on in the upper class. Maybe since he was more worried about the wedding arrangements that were being planned. He pulled Ruby closer to him as Jaune's mind had drifted to her being taken away from him. Even if both had agreed to maintain their relationship.

"I've been great. Especially since the night we ummmmmm. . . I mean." Ruby shyly tried to find the right words as she touched her stomach. Her cheeks reddened as she remembers that night. She wondered when they actually conceived their baby. The nights they were in bed together as they made love were magical. Ruby would never forget those moments when they physically show their love for each other. She never knew when it was going to be the last time Ruby was going to see Jaune. Telling Jaune about her pregnancy was something she had to address. But would it end like the time she had confessed her feelings to him.

"Oh, you mean when we had-" Jaune started to answer before stopping himself when he realized Ren and Nora were in the room. Also noticing Ruby shaking her head was more like a message. It was clear she didn't want him to say out loud they had sex. Even if Ren and Nora were their friends and can be trusted. "A nice dinner."

"Nice . . . Save." Ruby addressed while looking around to make sure Ren or Nora weren't around and eavesdropped. Ren and Nora were more preoccupied by the earlier conversation, much to Jaune and Ruby's relief.

Jaune however, couldn't shake the fact that Ruby didn't want to talk with Ren and Nora about their sexual relationship. "What's wrong if they know? You don't think we should tell them. I haven't told them anything about even our first time. "

"No, it's not Jaune. It's just for a little longer, at least until I tell you some important news." Ruby shook her head before her cheeks reddened.

"What is it?" Jaune smiled, while he asked his girlfriend. Only naturally curious to what Ruby wanted to tell him.

Ruby had started to tell Jaune as she tried to put the right words on how to tell her boyfriend she was pregnant with his child. "Well. . . I don't know how to put this in words-"

"RUBY!" Nora screamed out as she entered the room and tackled Ruby with an embrace as they hit the floor. Ruby had an annoyed expression on her face as she laid on the floor. Not because she was interrupted before finishing her sentence. Maybe it was for the best because Ruby didn't want to blurt out her pregnancy. She really wanted to be more private. "I am so glad you are here. I need you to come with me. Have some new outfits I made. I want you to look out."

"Sure. I need to talk to Jaune first." Ruby sweetly told Nora.

Nora began to protest this notion "Ummmm…. It's an emergency. Can't you tell your boyfriend later."

"Can't it wait."

"Okay. I will go with you."

Ruby had made her way to Nora's room. When she really came all this way to see Jaune. Maybe it was inability to say 'no' because she wanted to please those around her.

"I've been working really hard on this. I know, I didn't wrap it but happy birthday." Nora had shown Ruby a more low cut, strapless red dress with black trimming. With little rhinestones on the skirt. "So, be honest. What do you think?"

"It's beautiful." Ruby answered. She didn't know what to say. The last thing Ruby wanted to do was hurt Nora's feelings. At the very least it felt too revealing at least for her taste. It felt similar to those dresses she wore in the upper class. Ruby didn't want to sound ungrateful. However, Ruby knew she had to give Nora the benefit of the doubt. Nora assumed that this was the type of style that Ruby liked. It was fancy in her eyes. Something she could wear while in the lower class. She simply just smiled at Nora, who had gleefully taken the dress off the hanger.

"Oh! I am glad you love it. Please try it on for me." Nora pleaded as Ruby smiled before taking the dress and quickly changing. This brought a smile onto Nora's face since it was just another step to her plan. Namely since Jaune wouldn't let her get involved with his relationship with Ruby. Nora wanted her two best friends to finally be intimate with each other. One of her backup plans was making a sexy outfit for Ruby that would appeal to Jaune so they would have a night of passion.

"Please, just wear it for a bit. You don't have to go outside or anything like that. You don't want to hurt my feelings, do you?" Nora pouted while her eyes widened as she widened her eyes like a puppy.

"All right. Only for an hour or so." Ruby knew she couldn't fight it when Nora pleaded. Maybe it was because deep down, she wanted to see Jaune's reaction in the dress. Maybe having him more tongue-tied, if that ended up his reaction. It would make it easier to tell Jaune of her unexpected pregnancy.

Ruby nervously went down the stairs while she saw Jaune smile at her. Nora had gone into the kitchen to 'check on Ren' though Ruby knew it was more an excuse. More likely going to spy on the two of them with eagerness. "Do you like the dress Jaune? Nora made it as a birthday present for me. You don't think it's too much." Ruby asked her boyfriend while trying to fix the straps of her dress that had fallen down a bit. "I think it needs adjustments."

"No...not at all. I think it fits you in all the right places…" Jaune nervously answered while his arms moved up and down her body. Maybe it was her hormones, but Ruby found every touch intoxicating like a drug.

"I get what you mean, Jaune. You're so sweet." Ruby smiled before leaning in to press her lips to Jaune's. It lasted for a minute or so before she pulled away from Jaune much to his surprise. Though it had left them wanting more. Both Jaune and Ruby knew they had to fight their desires. If they continued to make out, it would lead to them having sex. Ruby wasn't even thinking about that when she had to tell Jaune about her pregnancy. It was better to do it right now that they were alone.

"Why did you pull away?" Jaune asked Ruby in confusion.

"It's just since we're alone. I can tell you the important news. I've been trying to tell you since I've been here." Ruby irritatedly pondered before looking up the stairs one more time. She was tired of being interrupted. More importantly, she didn't want Nora or Ren to hear this news yet. Not until she knew how Jaune would handle it. Ruby had looked at her boyfriend as she leaned in to hold his hand. Jaune was caught off guard as she felt her cuddling up against him.

Jaune smiled as he wrapped his arm around Ruby's waist. He missed having her by his side for over the past month because she wasn't feeling well. If this was important news, he would hope that Ruby was able to call off her engagement. "What is it, Lovebud?"

"Have you ever thought about our future?"

"You mean with that fiancé of yours." Jaune expressed jealousy as he turned his head away. He began to hold his girlfriend much more closely at thoughts of Ruby being taken away from him.

"There's no need to be jealous. You're my boyfriend, Jaune. I don't even consider Kai Li a relationship. He's still more of a stranger….at most a friend. That I am expected to marry. However, there doesn't seem to be any way out of it.

"Ruby, Jaune. There are two of you. Come out, we're going to have cake. Ren sent me to get you because he does trust me alone with it. He doesn't want me to eat it all up." Nora was annoyed that her fiancé had forced her to interrupt Jaune and Ruby. In her eyes, it was all leading to the two lovebirds being intimate with each other. Ren just didn't want it to happen because of the social classes.

"I am not in the mood to have my birthday cake right now." Ruby addressed as she wondered if it's because of her pregnancy. At least, she shouldn't be having cravings yet. However, until Ruby revealed it to Jaune, she had to avoid suspicion. "Maybe, it's better to tell Ren and Nora to just skip it. Or bring the cake over here quickly, so I can just blow out the candles."

"I guess. . . I can tell Ren. He worked so hard on it. If you're not feeling well…" Nora had told her worriedly.

"No. . . It's not being sick. It's more because of the birthday celebration I had to escape from in the upper class." Ruby explained without giving any detail to why at least she didn't want to be in front of Nora.

Nora nodded. "Yes, that would be true. We can always do it quickly in the morning. You have to at least open Ren's gift. Hold on." She went over to an old looking chest before taking out a wrapped box and handing it to Ruby.

Ruby smiled before she unwrapped the box and noticed it was a book filled with different types of stories in it. Like the kind of stories that she read as a kid. She knew these were stories that Ruby would read to her child when he or she was old enough. This led to Ruby shedding a few tears.

"Is everything okay?" Jaune touched Ruby's hand in worry. He assumed it had to do with her arranged marriage. All the stress of dealing with the upcoming wedding when it has been moved up. While Ruby's going on continuing having this affair with him. Jaune knew she didn't regret the decision because Ruby loved him with all her heart. It made Jaune wonder if Ruby would choose to marry him if he asked her. The thing wasn't even sure if he should even ask Ruby, but it would at least give her a choice. Jaune knew he couldn't provide or give her the life Ruby was used to in the upper class. "You haven't really been yourself."

Ruby flustered as she tried to cover the way she was acting with excuses. She stared into Jaune's blue eyes, the same ones that made her weak in the knees. The one person that always tried to give her happiness. Ruby took a deep breath to try to relieve her worries over the matter. "I don't know what you mean."

Jaune moved to sit down beside Ruby as he gently wrapped his arm around her. She smiled as she cuddled up to him. At that moment, it seemed like they were the only two people in the world. Jaune had gently kissed her forehead. "Are you still sick? You didn't want wine, you're not that hungry… Love bud, I am just concerned about you."

"No. . . There are other reasons." Ruby stopped herself as she looked up to see Nora was watching them. An eager smile on her face. Ren wasn't there to drag her away because he was still cleaning up in the kitchen. "Nora, do you mind if I talk with Jaune alone. This is a private matter."

"Oh sure. Not at all. I will go and pester Ren. He hates it when I am in the kitchen when he's cooking. It can be very distracting for him." Nora giggled before giving Jaune and Ruby a wink.

"Nora please. We don't need any of your sexual references. I am already going to lose my appetite. I don't even want to know what you two will be doing or even want to picture it." Jaune addressed as Ruby started to giggle. It was different because they were his best friends, and he didn't need to hear about all the potential sexual acts they plan to do. Just because you two are engaged doesn't mean you show public displays."

"All right, fine. I get your point. I just hope you ask Ruby about what you know before she leaves." Nora winked towards them as Jaune shook his head. She could only wish her two friends would end up engaged. That as long as Jaune doesn't mess up anything or if he even does ask her. Nora had left the backyard and went back into the house.

"What is she talking about?" Ruby asked in curiosity, while Jaune could see the wonderment in her eyes.

Jaune tried to brush it off. He quickly leaned in and pressed his lips on Ruby's. It had lasted minutes, as a few moans and grunts escaped their lips. Ruby had opened the locket to see a picture and read the engravement meant for her. Jaune put a lot of time and thought into this and she knew he meant every word. Ruby was so overwhelmed with emotion as tears streamed down her cheeks. "My one true love. Ruby, you're the jewel of my heart." She had gently stroked the inscription with her fingers.

Jaune noticed that Ruby was trying to hide her tears as she wiped them away with her arm. Naturally, he had assumed the worst, "What's the matter? You don't like it." His voice had the notion of sadness that his girlfriend may not be too fond of her birthday present.

"No. I love it. It's wonderful. Even more so because it came from you. You worked hard to earn this just for me. It makes it so personal and special," Ruby insisted before leaning in to press her lips to Jaune's. They simply melted in each other's arms as their kiss became more intense. Jaune's arms wrapped to pull Ruby in closer before his hands began to roam up and down her back. Jaune loved having Ruby in his arms as they started to feel the touch of their bodies.

"Yes, I can't wait." Jaune agreed, as he believed Ren and Nora were going to need help raising a baby together. It was even more dangerous because they lived in the lower class. Just living this way as a choice was already a death sentence. "This is going to be a handful."

"I am so glad. To be honest, I am so nervous about it. It's such a big step." Ruby confessed. "Especially with not being married. People would certainly look at you differently." Jaune had raised an eyebrow, but he had thought it made sense, as Ren and Nora were having a child out of wedlock. People in town would be gossiping about the news once it came out. Some would even look down on them for having a child if they weren't married. However, Ren and Nora wouldn't have to worry if they were already engaged.

As far as I am concerned, you're my true love. Despite the fact you're arranged to marry another. I wish that we can be like this forever. I'm not saying to leave the upper class entirely because I know that's asking a lot. But I feel I can't go through another day without you by my side. The fact we're separated for such long periods causes me such pain. Honestly, you're the last person I think about when I go to sleep, so you'll be with me in my dreams and the very first thing I think about when I wake up. Maybe it is because deep down I wish we can be like that forever-"

"Oh. . . You're asking me to marry you?" Ruby quickly picked up what Jaune was trying to tell her as she interrupted him. She felt her heart racing because this was so unexpected. Was this just the heat of the moment from their lovemaking? Yes, that had to be because Jaune knew she was getting married to Kai Li. Why would Jaune be doing this to her? Ruby knew this meant if she did agree to marry him. While it would be the life she dreamed of, but what was lingering in the back of her mind. In fact, this didn't involve their unborn child. Ruby tried to hold herself together despite her heartbreak.

"Is that really what you want?" Ruby questioned as she quickly turned her head while holding the bedsheet covers. She wanted to hide the tears from her eyes. Did Jaune really not want to have a baby with her? This was something always expected of Ruby, she was against the idea. It changed when expecting a child with the man she loved. "Just you and I. Nothing to us?" Ruby's voice was starting to crack as she couldn't hold back her tears anymore. "I better get going."

Jaune was surprised as he watched Ruby get out of bed. Her naked form was trying to find the clothes on the floor. Ruby was trying to keep herself from crying. Jaune sat up with concern in his voice. "Why are you leaving so soon?"

Taking a breath, Ruby had turned over and faked a smile towards Jaune. Trying to hide the fact her boyfriend's words bothered her.

In the middle of the night Ruby had found her clothes and quickly got dressed. Before given a quick kiss to Jaune. Even though it pained her. Ruby knew she couldn't be around her boyfriend, if he didn't want to have this baby with her. So, Ruby took this time to sneak out of the lower class and head back to the upper class.

Yes, the risk with all the danger due to her pregnancy but she was just going to move.

It was easier to sneak around than normal due to being so late. She didn't bother to take off her dress as she made her way to her room. Blake didn't say much of a word and just saw how tired how protectee was and guided her to the bed. Ruby gently fell asleep as she placed her blanket over her to hide her clothing. She must have hide a wild night with her solider lover. At least this was Blake had assumed since it was so late. They more likely had a night of sex. Blake knew that she would have to find out the details later on what happened when she revealed her pregnancy.

After a few hours had gone by. Ruby just laid in bed. She didn't want to move or do anything. What was the point when Jaune didn't want to have this baby with her. Ruby's eyes remained duller, as if it lost its luster more of a gray than that beautiful sliver. Perhaps because she felt like there was no willingness to do much besides eat. After all, there was her pregnancy and despite the pain of Jaune not wanting their child. Ruby wasn't one to hold any bitterness towards her unborn child that basically ended her relationship with Jaune. At least, from what she knew, it had to be over. Jaune didn't care about being a father, Ruby didn't want to believe Blake was right either. She still believed Blake was wrong, that all he wanted was sex. This was because Jaune didn't want to have children, at least from what Ruby interpreted.

Jaune wasn't this type of person. At least this was what Ruby repeatedly told herself over and over again. This is probably why this is extra painful. Ruby didn't see something like this coming. It was a complete blindside. Maybe it was because deep down, Ruby wanted to have children with Jaune. This child was a symbol of their eternal love for each other. How could he not want a gift like this?

Just then there was a knock at the door. Ruby had glanced up before putting her head down on her pillow. She didn't want to answer, though Ruby didn't even seem to find her voice. There was another knock, but this time it was more muffled hammering sounds. At least before they noticed the door to the bedroom was open. This was one of those times Ruby had wished she had locked it. Ruby didn't want anyone to bother her, she wanted to just be left alone in her despair.

Blake had opened the door to Ruby's room as she pushed a serving cart into her room. She was the only one in the mansion that knew Ruby was pregnant. They continued to go along with the fact that Ruby was feeling sick. At least a reason that she could continue staying in bed without anyone getting suspicious for the time being. Blake knew Ruby only had so much time to hide her pregnancy before it started to show. Maybe the best is that her body was swelling up to cover the fact Ruby is getting bigger. That excuse was too lame and not believable.

"Miss Rose, I brought a bunch of food for you. I don't know if you had any cravings yet due to your pregnancy." Blake addressed as she gave a warm smile to her friend. Despite the disapproval over the fact, Ruby wanted to keep the baby. Even though her soldier lover didn't want it. Ruby seemed to believe that, deep down, he would change his mind. All Blake could do was try to help her in any way that was possible.

"Thanks. I don't have any of those cravings yet." Ruby answered as she pressed a hand to her stomach. "Though I am hungry. Has to be because I am eating for two now."

Blake's cat ears turned back and were against her head. There was such nervousness in the pit of her stomach. Ruby could be in serious trouble because of this affair and pregnancy. Blake was in no position or have any right to tell her protectee what to do. It was just that she was worried about her friend because of what General Taiyang or even her fiancé Kai Li would think of this. "I'm still worried how everyone will take all this. The dangers of wanting to keep this baby."

"I am positive. It's my duty to get married and be a mother anyway. I already love this child inside me, and it's not even born yet." Ruby firmly answered, despite knowing the consequences and the risks. Yes, it was a foolish decision on her part, but Ruby didn't care. This baby was something she could always remember of the man she loves - Jaune. There was always that fear of never being able to see him again that always seemed to enter her mind. "No matter what, I don't plan to get rid of this child growing inside me. No matter what anyone says. It's my duty as a mother to protect it."

"You're very brave, Miss Rose. However, I respect whatever happens. Even if you have to run away or something. I'll be there for you because you're my friend-" A knock on the door interrupted Blake before she could finish.

Blake looked at Kai with distrust with her cat-like eyes. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but can I talk to Ruby?"

"Sure thing." Blake agreed. Even though she didn't move aside. As she wanted to be there to protect Ruby.

Kai Li added. "I meant alone."

Ruby touched Blake's shoulder. "It's alright Blake. Don't worry. I can deal with this alone. There's something I need to do anyway."

"Yes, sorry. I will be outside guarding the door. Nothing will stop me from doing my job as Miss Rose's bodyguard after all." Blake nodded as he understood this was something that was between her friend and fiancé. Perhaps she thought Ruby Rose would use this chance to tell her fiancé about her pregnancy and have him keep it a secret.

Ruby felt too guilty as she looked over at her fiancé, Kai Li. He was too still busy writing down some information as he sat beside her on the bed. The man that was arranged to be her husband, but she had cheated on him. Yes, Ruby knew she was unfaithful because her heart belonged to another and always will. She knew Jaune Arc was her soulmate. Even if he was more into having sex than wanting to have a child. Ruby knew despite her heartbreak. Nothing was going to change the fact she had loved Jaune.

Kai had to know the truth. Perhaps this was the only way to end their arrangement.

"Now that we're alone. Can we talk about what happened at your birthday party? What are we talking about?" Kai had leaned it to try to kiss her, but Ruby had moved her hand to her face. "I wanted to wait until after your birthday party for us to sleep together."

"I never said that exactly." Ruby nervously told Kai as she turned to look at him. Kai was memorized by her silver eyes as he touched her cheek. "Kai, there's something you should know." Ruby began as she placed her hands on her lap. She gripped her nightgown nervously. Her heart was pounding because a part of Ruby was worried that this could end up getting revealed to someone else. That Jaune could get punished because she was taking this risk of confessing to try to end the engagement. "I haven't been honest with you. I know we're supposed to get married, but I've been hiding some big secrets. These are pleasant things, as you're going to feel betrayed by the actions. You have to promise no matter what I say. You won't tell anyone."

"It depends. What is it?" Kai questioned while his face shifted from a smile to a frown.

"I've been having an affair, Kai. With a soldier." Ruby finally had let out though it as tears streamed down her cheeks. The guilt was too much for Ruby that she ended up betraying her fiancé. Kai had removed his hand as he looked at his fiancé in surprise. He didn't want to believe in what Kai was telling him.

"You're joking right? Are you trying to pull a prank on me? If you are getting me excellent right now. After all, you would be the type of girl that would cheat on me." Kai was more like he was in denial over the fact Ruby wouldn't do such a thing. An affair? Being with another man behind his back for who knows how long. Yes, Kai knew that he was getting married, so Ruby may just need one last fling.

"I am not joking around, Kai Li." Ruby apprehensively told Kai as she held a hand to her stomach. "I've really been having an affair. I have been cheating on you. One of several reasons why I can't fool around with you like you want me too.

Kai's tone became more serious as he grew more heartbroken than angry over what he was hearing. "So, it's a couple of dates and kissing. I can live with that Ruby. You need to get it out of your system-"

"NOOOOO!" Ruby shook her head and rubbed her, "I-It's more than that. I have fallen in love with him. We had made love. You know, wild and crazy sex. Several times now."

"You gave yourself to him." Kai's eyes widened as he tried to hold back the pain in his voice. That the girl he loved Ruby had sex with another man. When Kai always believed that Ruby was saving herself for him. That she was a girl of a pure heart, but it was a lie.

"Yes. . . And we'll say the reason I've been so sick is that I just learned I am pregnant with his child." Ruby had let this last part out, and for Kai it was like time had stood still. It deeply pained him. Yes, he was angry, as he had every right to be. This had to do with the fact Kai was in love with Ruby Rose was what pained him. Yet all this time her heart belonged to another man that she couldn't be with. Maybe it was more of a disappointment because this wasn't expected of her.

"You're. . . Pregnant. With this man's child." Kai answered with an angry tone in his voice.

"It's worse for me as it is. He doesn't want the baby. . . I don't think he wants to be with me as long as I am pregnant with his child. It pains me so much-" Ruby cries out. Kai didn't care about the fact Ruby had cheated on him. The fact that she had given her heart too. Ruby was such a special girl and if she preferred this soldier to him. Kai couldn't let the fact he was hurt by this affair get the better of him.

"What's his name? Tell me the truth. I will keep my word and not tell anyone. You've been cheating on me. At least you can stop lying to me. I deserve that much, dammit." Kai let out a rougher action as he grabbed Ruby's arm. Though, he didn't seem to realize his actions because he was more focused on answers. "Come on, Ruby, spill it."

"Why can you tell everyone about this? So he could face punishment or, worse, die. I would never forgive you if you even think of doing that, Kai Li. I would get it if you hated me. Frankly, I want this arrangement to end because I don't want to marry you. I cared for you as a friend. I'm sorry, I just will never see you as a lover. Furthermore, I am so sorry for hurting you like this."

Kai could see how much Ruby cared for this soldier. His eyes softened while Kai saw the tears in Ruby's eyes. Kai knew he couldn't turn back time, and this man appeared to have won her heart. This didn't mean he wasn't going to let it go completely, at least until he got answers. Kai could see Ruby did feel guilty of her actions. Kai started to loosen grip and felt guilty over being too physical with her. Ruby had thought Kai was going to leave bruises on her arm from how tightly he was squeezing it.

Ruby had felt she had something caught in her throat. She wasn't sure what to say to Kai, but he needed an answer. What was Ruby supposed to say to him besides the truth. The only thing Ruby could hope for was that none of this would be told to her father or anyone else. "He's name is Jaune Arc, and he's actually not a soldier. He's a commoner from the lower class."

"The lower class. That's where this soldier you claim you love is from. The one that's the father to your unborn child." Kai had pondered in his mind in his anger. He didn't say a word to her, and simply muttered. "I see."

Ruby nodded her head. She continued to reveal more to Kai, even if each word hurt him."He's not a soldier. That's the excuse I made to cover for him when my father or anyone asked. I just say he was a 'friend' because I didn't want anyone getting suspicious. Even my trips when I was visiting Yang or going camping with Blake. It really was, so I could be with him."

"And did you have sex with him? Each time you saw this Jaune Arc, you speak of." Ruby could hear the growing frustration on her betrayal and knew she couldn't blame him. She felt sorry for hurting Kai Li. Honesty, it was the last thing she wanted to do,, but she loved Jaune. Nothing was going to change this.

"No. . . We only made love twice. Once when we sneaked to see him after our wedding was moved up, and he ended up coming to see me in my bedroom. I truly wasn't feeling well and not making that part up. When I wasn't aware, it was because I was pregnant. And I am not if there was another time before any of that. . . As after you drunkenly tried to force yourself on me…. I went over to see him. . . I don't remember anything,, but we ended up naked. . .so for all I know, that's when I could have gotten pregnant."

"I can't listen to this anymore." Kai yelled in anger as he clutched his hand into a fist. He couldn't listen to his fiancé talk about how she was having sex with other another. Where were they having it? Ruby was supposed to be saving herself for him, and she got pregnant by another man. It felt like treason. "I need to be alone." Kai had let out before he turned around and closed

The door.

"Kai. . .wait." Ruby pleaded. All of a sudden, she was alone as a few tears streamed down her face. Ruby was apprehensive about Kai's reaction, as she felt something in the pit of her stomach. She was worried about Jaune with this overwhelming fear that something could happen to him overnight.

Kai had gone into his own personal bedroom in the mansion since he was going to marry Ruby. It was important to their parents that they spent so much time together before they had to do the 'wedding tour' or even before their marriage. Kai had taken his vest off, which left him shirtless. He laid on his bed while staring at the ceiling. All he could think about was Ruby's affair. That young man Jaune Arc was the one that stole Ruby's heart and impregnated his fiancée. Kai knew he had every right to hate this young man because he ravished his soon-to-be wife.

This man, named Jaune Arc, he wanted to blame for seducing Ruby. HIS Ruby. Kai wasn't mad at Ruby,, but he hated this Jaune Arc by all means. He did impregnate his fiancé, so Kai believed he had every right to be. After all, he was a soldier, so it wouldn't be a surprise due to their reputation. Why would Ruby cheat on him otherwise? It was too hard to believe that someone from the lower class. Someone far below their station in the upper class wouldn't choose someone far lower than their station. As far as Kai was concerned, this was just a fling with this pregnancy and ended up an accident.

That night, Kai Li had shifted around in his bed. Twisting and turning under the bedsheets with the nightmares of some shadowy figure took Ruby away. What bothered Kai was that he couldn't picture a face on the young man. Kai knew this was going to bother him until he got answers. This was when he came up with an idea.

Kai Li knew he had to go meet this Jaune Arc.

"I will have to go to the lower class myself and seek this Jaune Arc out." Kai answered while he sat up from the bed. He needed answers, and that meant confronting the man personally. It was the only way Kai could resolve these issues. This was his resolve because Kai believed he didn't want to have this rift with Ruby. Kai was deeply hurt and felt couldn't forgive what he saw as a betrayal. "If he had to seduce my Ruby and impregnate her to satisfy his own lust. Jaune Arc was a soldier in the lower class. So it was natural like every one of them that didn't care about the pregnancy once a soldier had all their fun.

Quickly putting a vest back on...and a cloak over, just because it was dark because it was more of a disguise. Kai was used to the cold air, after all. It reminded him of his homeland. Not that he missed any of it too much. Kai knew he wasn't going to stay there long, but still needed necessary items in case he stayed overnight. Not that anyone would really be bothered, since they would just assume he didn't stay over in the Xiao Long Mansion.

Kai had gone to the edge of his balcony before he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I need to get answers." It was with this he had put up his aura, which glowed a lavender. He had leaped off the balcony, only to remain in the air due to activating his semblance. It gave him the ability to fly like a bird, which he discovered when he was a child after falling out of a tree he climbed. It was more like he was manipulating the surrounding air, so he was light as a feather. Kai found this semblance useful when he had to travel, and it had natural advantages in combat.

However, Kai only had his sights on the lower class as he speeded like a jet in the air while making his way there.

Jaune had gotten dressed sometime after Ruby had left. For a while, he glanced at it, hoping she would come back. Maybe Ruby was just teasing him, then he stared at his scroll waiting for some response from her. Jaune ended up looking at pictures that were taken of them together. Jaune didn't understand why she was so upset after the night they had sex again. Everything seemed perfect and romantic. Both of them were enjoying the consummation of their love. Yes, Jaune knew he may have unsettled her by the fact he wasn't ready to have children like Nora and Ren. Why would she need to be upset over such things? Jaune knew that being from the upper class, there were things that just weren't possible. Maybe he was just being selfish.

Such as being a fool to think Ruby would want to marry someone like him. There were so many questions going through Jaune's mind as he put his scroll on the end table. Jaune had stared at the ceiling as if to shake any of the incident from his mind. Why would Ruby want to give up her privileged life in the upper class to live a life of barely nothing? Was it the way he proposed to her? Jaune knew asking after having sex may not have been ideal. Perhaps he should have asked her somewhere else, maybe even beforehand.

These were the thoughts that repeatedly entered Jaune's mind in angst. It was like a broken record that would turn off in his head. He didn't want to lose Ruby or scare her away. Force her into a loveless marriage with this arranged fiancé of hers, Kai Li. Jaune could feel the anger burning up of Ruby being in his arms. It was like having that splinter that you couldn't get out. There was this intense dislike for Kai Li because Jaune knew he would always be jealous of him. He gets to have his relationship be accepted and open to the public. While Jaune knew even if he married Ruby, he may have to keep it a secret, so the upper class wouldn't find out. The one thing that Jaune did know was he meant every word. He loved Ruby with all his heart and plans to tell her if she would just speak to him.

"Come on Jaune. Get a grip." Jaune told himself as he got up from his bed. He decided it was best to get some fresh air as he made his way downstairs. Jaune looked around the hallway as he was outside his bedroom door. He was worried that Nora and Ren heard them make love, when they were trying to be as quiet as possible. Especially when he didn't want Nora to brag about the fact she was right. This was the reason neither Jaune and Ruby wanted to even tell their other friends. "Where are they?"

Jaune had started to make his way downstairs, but there was no one around. He was sure the two of them were celebrating the whole pregnancy. It was late. Jaune remained in his room to get sleep for most of the day. So he didn't want both Ren and Nora, namely, walking in on them in a sexual act. Jaune wasn't too sure himself, in addition to the house. Even though he adored children and got along with all the ones he met, he helped while on missions. More so than even Ren and Nora. Jaune didn't even know if he should even address it yet. That perhaps it was for the best for either Ren or Nora to tell him about the news. All Jaune had to do was act normal. That meant going to his usual routine when Ruby isn't there.

The first thing was to make a cup of coffee. Jaune needed the energy after all the lovemaking he had with Ruby last night. Ruby seemed to give him the motivation to press forward through those hours of sex. It was a source of comfort just thinking about the woman he loved each day. However, Jaune was bothered by why Ruby got so upset and left after they had made love. He only wished she was still there so the two of them could talk it out.

Nora was already in the kitchen eating a late night snack. Jaune didn't question this because he assumed she was pregnant, and it was her cravings. As he saw with his sisters, Jaune knew how much a baby needs. "Jaune, I am glad you're up. When you knocked on your door this morning. You said you weren't feeling good and needed to stay in bed." Nora had smirked as she made the notion it was because her plan worked. Nothing could convince her more that Jaune and Ruby did have sex, but wanted to keep this a secret.

Jaune frowned. He could feel his heartache over what happened with Ruby. "Oh, it's nothing to worry about. I guess I just miss Ruby. She left without eating anything, too."

"Ruby's not here?" Nora had asked in worry because she would assume Ruby would be in their house as well. More importantly, due to, Jaune and Ruby had sexual relations.

"She left in a hurry." Jaune answered. "Though Ruby-" Before she could finish, there was a knock on the door.

"I wonder who can do that at his hour." Nora questioned as she dropped her plate and went over to the front door.

Kai had looked around before sneaking to the Lower Class. The fence that surrounded the lower class in the distance,, but it was more broken because of all the destruction. While the upper class was made secure and of stone. Soldiers around the clock watching for intruders and grimm. The lower class didn't have any of these luxuries. In fact, they would have very few huntsmen around because most of them were dead. Was this Jaune Arc and his friends still active? While Kai should report this. All that kept lingering was how much Ruby would hate him. Kai just couldn't hurt Ruby, no matter how much he wanted Jaune Arc gone.

Nothing after all was maintained, so it was easy to slide through and remove a broken piece of wood before putting it back. Kai only went to places that were destroyed by grimm and to him this wasn't far off. Kai took a glance at the map on his scroll,, but the connection started to go into static waves. He was definitely in the lower class. Kai knew he was close and knew he couldn't go back, so he continued following the pathway.

"Sorry to interrupt, but is it Jaune Arc here?" Kai asked Nora, who looked at him up and down in suspicion. Being this was the lower class, it was hard to trust people being they could be thieves, attempt murder….even rape. Something that already nearly happened to Ruby. The thought. "I know I normally wouldn't ask this. May I come inside to discuss this. It wouldn't be proper to talk out of here. Everyone would hear us, and this is a personal matter. I don't want Ruby to get in trouble. Regardless of the things that just happened."

"Oh you mean….Ruby's relationship with Jaune….sorry, I really don't know where he is...so why do you go back to wherever you came from..." Nora attempted to close the door on him. She was making an effort to protect her friends and not wanting them to intervene in their relationship. Kai Li had blocked it from being closed with his foot.

Kai pleaded. He didn't care about anything other than seeing Jaune. He did want to punch him in the face the moment he saw him. For having this affair with Ruby and being done with her as soon as he knocked her up. It's like when you hear those stories about those soldiers that have sexual relationships. So for the most part you had to use protection, so none of this would happen. "I need to speak with Jaune Arc. Can I please come in? I had important news that needed to be discussed."

"I don't even know your name or who you are? What you're asking is about two of my dear friends. You do realize that." Nora coldly expressed. She instantly went into a protective mode, like a big sister has towards their siblings, even if Jaune was the same age as her, but it fitted better with Ruby.

"Yes, I do apologize. I'm Kai Li. Ruby Rose's fiancé. So I am from the upper class, like Ruby. I don't want to do anything more than talking to Ruby."

"I guess you can come in. Don't try any funny business." Nora warned while lowering her eyebrows as she gave him a cold, distrusting stare. Pointed out, as she moved aside, so Kai could get through the front entrance. Even though Nora was skeptical of this, it was the same Kai Li that her friend Ruby Rose was engaged to. She wanted him to leave Jaune alone. Jaune was the one meant to be with Ruby.

Kai looked directly at Jaune, while he entered the kitchen and let down his hood. "I suppose you're that guy Jaune Arc, that's been fooling around with her." Kai angrily told Jaune as he pointed at him.

"Fooling around? I-I wouldn't put it into those words." Jaune nervously addressed because he didn't want to admit this out loud. Not just because it would be in Ren and Nora's presences. It would be bad enough to be teased by his friends. Especially when they make love at basically almost every moment. It was worse as he was now face to face in front of Kai Li. The young man that Ruby is supposed to marry. Jaune didn't even know what he was supposed to say. Kai more likely had a bitterness towards him because of the affair. Why would Kai seek Jaune out otherwise?

Kai had clutched his hands into a fist. He was frustrated that Jaune Arc was denying the fact he was involved sexually with HIS Ruby. Kai came to the lower class for answers. The truth. This isn't what Kai wanted to even hear. "So you didn't have sex with Ruby. Is that what you're disclaiming."

"I don't have to answer anything to you." Jaune had told Kai while looking away in anger. He didn't have to tell Kai Li anything if he didn't want to. This was none of his business. Jaune and Ruby both consummated their relationship out of mutual love. Something that would always have a special place in their heart. Though Kai wouldn't understand it because he must not be treating her well enough. How else could Jaune be able to win Ruby's heart? Jaune certainly didn't see himself as a ladies man. "Why don't you get out of here? Go back to the upper class."

"I can't. Not until I get my answers. Especially when you already know about Ruby's pregnancy." Kai blurted out in rage. Jaune didn't even know what to say, as the anger he had completely disappeared. He wasn't even aware that Ruby was expecting. Jaune was so blind to assume it was Ren and Nora in the aftermath of their lovemaking. This was why Ruby was so upset?

"Ruby's pregnant?" Jaune questioned. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. There was so much going on in his mind. In fact, he made a big mistake with Ruby over how he treated the whole situation. Was Ruby able to forgive him for this? It didn't click yet in Jaune's mind that he was going to be a father.

"Yes, certainly I am not the father of this unborn child. So quick, denying you didn't sleep with Ruby. The evidence is there, you've been having an affair with my fiancé. "

"Well Jaune. Look like the secrets out." Nora began to tease him, much to her glee. She couldn't contain her excitement over both being able to tease Jaune. There was also the matter of both of her friends having a baby together. Nora wanted Jaune and Ruby to be able to keep this unborn child despite the odds. Maybe it was more because she had no siblings, but Jaune was the closest she had to a brother. Nora wanted to live out the dream of being an aunt to this baby. "Why did you keep the fact you were having sex with Ruby a secret?"

"Obviously because you'll embarrass him." Ren defensively answered. He could see the concern on Jaune's face. "After all, Jaune has so much going on here. Things that are much more serious than you teasing him. He got Ruby pregnant. Jaune would get punished if anyone found out about this in the upper class. Not only that, Jaune has to deal with the consequences, such as the fact he's going to be a father. That's such an enormous responsibility."

"Why can't you let me have my fun, Ren?" Nora pouted as she crossed her arms. "I mean asking how the sex was. Is that so wrong?"

"Very wrong!" Ren disagreed, while taking a seat.

Nora pouted before she crossed her arms. Displeased, while glaring over at Ren. "Oh, what do you know?"

Ren glanced at his fiancé. He wanted Nora to test him, but her rebelliousness is what Ren loved about her. "A lot more. Considering how immature you're acting. What if we were in this situation? Did you even think of that?"

"But we're not." Nora protested. "Besides, I wouldn't want to have a kid right now. Not with all the expenses. It's not like they didn't use a condom. Isn't that right, Jaune?"

"Ummm well…" Jaune flustered as he tried to come up with an answer. It didn't help that Nora continued to make things worse.

"You didn't use protection? I thought I advised you and even Ruby too. Not for you to have hot passionate sex without one."

Ren had shook his head before he put a hand to his forehead in frustration. "Nora...just keep quiet. You're just making things worse than it already is. Not to mention that you're not helping Jaune's case. Not to mention what you are concerned about defending Jaune. Pointing out all the flaws."

Kai glanced at Jaune coldly. There was nothing but bitterness in his eyes. "Irresponsible. Naturally. Like it's already bad enough you had slept with Ruby. Should have known someone like you would take advantage of Ruby and not use protection. Not even accepting the consequences of your actions."

Jaune's anger was starting to boil. Yes, he basically deserved it because this was the man that was supposed to marry. The person Ruby was supposed to have children with. Jaune never planned for any of this. That Ruby would end up pregnant when they made love because both of them foolishly didn't use protection. Their actions are caused by lust. "Yes, you're right. I am to blame for all of this. And I get that you're angry, Kai Li. I am the man that Ruby has been cheating with. You have every right to be furious. However, I don't need to hear any of this. Not storming into my house when you're not wanted. Go back to the upper class where you belong." Jaune had pointed to the door. Before he knew it Kai fist landed on his cheek. Even though Jaune was caught off guard when Kai punched him. Jaune had his aura to defect the hit, not that it didn't have any lingering pain.

"Listen you bastard. You should know that Ruby's been completely heartbroken since she found out about the pregnancy. She's been laying in her bed in a depressed state. It's because of you. Ruby assumes you don't want to have this baby with her. Take responsibility as a father. Even if this unborn child isn't mine by blood. I care too much for Ruby to want to blame her for all this. When I marry her I will just pretend it's mine to protect YOUR child from danger. That's how selfless I am."

Jaune didn't like the tone in his voice. It felt more like Kai Li was trying to rub it in his face. He wasn't thrilled with the idea of anyone else raising the baby. HIS child. Jaune didn't want his unborn child to think of Kai Li as their father. The very thought of it made Jaune sick to his stomach. The more that was thought "NO! I don't want to let Ruby go through this alone. It's my responsibility. It would be worse to have to have you raise my unborn child that I never knew. However, I don't even know how it would be possible to do so."

"It's simple. You move to the upper class." Kai explained as he crossed his arms.

"Move to the upper class...if anyone finds out who I am...I would be punished… " Jaune said worriedly. There were so many risks if he chose to move to the upper class. The punishments that he could be facing.

Kai continued to push Jaune. He wanted to see more how much Jaune really loved Ruby. "Are you saying Ruby's not worth those risks?"

Jaune shook his head. He didn't agree with that sentiment. "I would die for Ruby. She means the world to me. I am just not sure about leaving what I know. Ren and Nora are my roommates…their like my family-"

"Jaune, you should go." Nora interrupted as she had come out from the other room while eavesdropping through the wall. Ren was right behind her as he put his hands on her shoulders to ease her. "Ruby needs you. Besides, Ren and I are getting married. Eventually we would have to settle down anyway. It's kind of why I wanted you to propose to Ruby...but like you said, she's already getting married. At least you two are going to have a baby together. This is a sign that you are meant to be with Ruby. Don't let her slip away. With this pregnancy, Ruby's going to be under extra watch. She wouldn't be able to even leave as the more advanced stages begin to take form."

"I'll wait in your backyard for you to make your decision. Mr. Arc." Kai addressed as he headed out the backdoor to leave the three of them alone. He knew it wasn't his place to get involved since Kai didn't really know any of them. Jaune, Nora and Ren continued their conversation as soon as he left.

"Ruby does need me. However, I'm just not sure if she will speak to me after what I said to her."

"Just explain to her that it was a misunderstanding. Ruby would understand. You need to show the great lengths to how much you love her. By going to the upper class to start a life with her. Even if it's in secret. Taking those risks. It shows how you're willing to go through punishment by taking that risk."

"Honestly, that's the best advice Nora has given you." Ren nodded his head in agreement to Nora's sentiment.

"Why do you sound surprised?" Nora pouted as she crossed her arms.

"Never mind."

Jaune is still worried about the possibility of not seeing his best friends again. What would he have to give up? How was he going to pretend to be a soldier in the upper class? He wasn't sure if he could even pull it off. They would more likely be at a higher standard because they were from the upper class. "Ren. . . Nora, are you sure about all of this?"

"Absolutely. Yes, we would miss seeing you or Ruby. " Nora gleefully addressed before going over to Jaune as she gave him a bone crushing embrace. "We'll miss you." After, Nora wipes some tears from her cheeks after she finally lets go. Jaune shrugged it off, but felt a few aches in the aftermath of their hug. Ren had opened his arms and gave Jaune a more gentle one.

Jaune had realized leaving the lower class, it also meant not seeing his mother or sisters. Besides his father, they were always supportive of him. So he knew if were to be with Ruby, the woman he loved. They would be telling him to go after her because she made him happy. Even if they believed they lived in a different district in the lower class. "What about my mom and sisters? They would be looking or asking about me. I don't want them to worry."

"Don't worry about that. We'll make some good excuses for you and Ruby about your absence. It would be something romantic, for sure." Nora swooned. She had put her hands to one side of her face.

"Please try to make it too out of hand or embarrassing." Jaune pleaded as he had put a hand behind his head. He was nervous that Nora was going to say something that would be embarrassing. Ren had nodded his head in assurance that he would be there with Nora to make an excuse with her. Namely, since Nora wouldn't go overboard on her tale. "I better go start packing." Jaune told Ren and Nora as he made his way out of the kitchen to his bedroom. He turned around to look at his friends with a sad look on his face. For what could very well be the last time he may ever see them.

Ruby continued wailing as tears streamed down her cheeks. Her eyes were red and buffy from all the crying. She really missed Jaune, and it pained her that she may have to raise their child without him. Worse, Ruby wasn't even sure what Kai was planning to do. Was he planning to reveal her affair and pregnancy to her father? Jaune could face punishment for all of this, even potentially have a death sentence. The very thought of anything happening to Jaune because both mutually chose to have sex.

Was it a curse that was placed upon her to end up pregnant? Ruby didn't want Jaune to hate her for carrying his child. That Jaune would leave Ruby life forever, and it was unbearable. Ruby didn't want Jaune to hate or leave her out of fear he wasn't ready to become a father. Her mind drifted to getting rid of the baby by having an abortion. That way, everything would go back to the way it was before. However, Ruby knew that would never be the case because everything has changed. She could never get rid of her unborn child that was inside her. Ruby already deeply loved this baby because no matter what it would always be a reminder of her love for Jaune Arc.

"Jaune, you should go to the upper class. Be with Ruby." Nora encouraged her friend. She could see Jaune wanted to go to Ruby. However, what was holding him back was his friends. Jaune wasn't the type to leave them behind.

Jaune's eyes widened at the suggestion from Nora. Did they really want him to leave the lower class? Jaune began to ponder if Nora and Ren even wanted him around. They were going to be married. "What do you mean? Are you saying you live in the upper class?"

"That's exactly what I am saying. You love Ruby. You're going to have a baby with her. This way you can always be close to her.

"There's one problem. I can't exactly reveal the fact that I am the father. I would face punishment. I wouldn't even know what to do to stay close to Ruby. Furthermore, I can't always stay hidden."

"Actually, there is a way." Kai interrupted. "While there's a part of me that REALLY dislikes you. I want Ruby to be happy,, and she'll only be that way by seeing you. When Ruby reveals her pregnancy to her father. General Taiyang is going to want extra protection. Even though Ruby already has one bodyguard in Blake. It wouldn't be enough in the general's eyes. Since you're trained as a Huntsman. This is when you reveal yourself as a soldier that was missing in action. With this job, you can always be with Ruby."

"Why are you telling me this?" Jaune questioned in confusion why Kai Li would help him to remain close to Ruby. It's very questionable since Kai was the fiancé of Ruby, so he wouldn't be doing this without reason. Was he going to use their relationship as blackmail? It was believed that Kai was going to hold this over Jaune's head. That he was behaving in an affair with Ruby or the fact he was having sex with her. Either way, he could be facing punishment. However, Jaune knew that Ruby was worth dying for. He would risk anything just to be with her.

Kai Li didn't want to show the heartbreak over his unrequited relationship with Ruby. He was used to creating a facade to deal with his emotional problems. "Yes, I should be questioning this myself. Ruby doesn't love me. How do I know this? She outright told me. Do you know how much it hurts? Ruby Rose only has eyes for you, Jaune Arc. All I want is for Ruby to be happy. Even if I have to fake a relationship because of our impending marriage. In a perfect world. I wouldn't want it to be this way. Ruby is in such a depressive state that seeing you may be the only thing that makes you smile again."

Jaune frowned when Kai Li mentioned the depressive state that Ruby was in. Jaune knew this was his fault because he failed to see that Ruby was trying to tell him that she was pregnant. He just assumed that it was Ren and Nora who were the ones expecting. Was he really that foolish? "I love Ruby. More than anything else in the world. I just hate myself because she was trying to tell me about her pregnancy. The night Ruby came to visit when we were celebrating her birthday. It was right after-um-we fooled around after I gave her a birthday gift."

Nora smirked as she quickly had to leave a comment about Jaune and Ruby's sexual relationship. Naturally, with all the eagerness in the world to embarrass Jaune. "How many times did you two have sex? Is that why we heard noises that night because you two were ravishing each other. I knew it. See I told you Ren. My plans were working, and you said they weren't. I would like an apology." Jaune didn't even look in Nora's direction as his cheeks reddened.

"Nora, I love you, but please be quiet. This is a personal matter between the two of them. Why don't we go to the other room." Ren suggested, but there was gentleness in his tone of voice. He put his hands on Nora's shoulders. "We need to respect Jaune's privacy."

Nora crossed her arms. She wasn't happy with the situation. "Alright….Fiiinnne." Nora pouted. Maybe it had to do more that she was turned on when Ren acted all mature

"Ruby feels you don't want this child. And by extension, you don't want to be with her anymore." Kai angrily told Jaune how Ruby was feeling before putting a hand on his shoulder. "I don't want Ruby to feel pain. I always thought I would be the one that makes her happy, and she loved me. Jaune Arc, you have a special place in my fiance's heart that no one can take. Either you stay here or I will bring you to her."

Jaune shook his head. No, Ruby couldn't think that way. Their relationship was always more than just sex. Ruby has always been his true love. His soulmate. While he did love Pyrrha. She wasn't the person Jaune was meant to be with. Jaune had moved on from Pyrrha's death. "All right. Let me get my belongings, and you can take me to Ruby." Jaune looked over at Kai Li with determination in his eyes. No matter what, he had to make amends and prove his love to Ruby. It was worth everything.

Kai Li had landed on the balcony. This was followed by Jaune.

Jaune could see his girlfriend through the glass of the balcony door. Ruby laid on her bed in such a depressive state. Seeing Ruby like that had Well at this point he wasn't sure of their relationship but Jaune knew he couldn't let that stop him. Not when he learned that Ruby was carrying his child. Hold the woman he loved in his arms and tell her everything was going to be fine.

Kai knocked on the glass of the balcony's double doors. The doors were locked to keep anyone from coming in. "I don't know why it has to be a surprise? I don't really think it should with Ruby's condition." Jaune whispered as he remained hidden. Though the tone had hints of jealousy because he didn't want Kai to be alone with Ruby. Jaune knew that Kai still had feelings for Ruby and he would throw him under the bus.

He had to try and grab Ruby's attention but Jaune didn't know if she was asleep. After a few minutes, Ruby had risen up from her bed as her messy hair took notice of Jaune from the window. Ruby panicked before combing her fingers through her hair before the straps of her nightgown fell off her shoulders. She didn't really seem to notice that a small amount of her breasts were showing.

"Wait here. Maybe it's better to make this more of a surprise." Kai insisted to Jaune, who didn't want to argue and just nodded. It more likely had to do more with not wanting to draw unwanted attention. Until he was settled in the upper class. Jaune also felt he didn't want to do anything to upset Ruby too much. Especially with her pregnancy,

Jaune didn't want to argue. All he cared about was seeing Ruby.

Kai Li had tapped his fist gently on the door. Ruby didn't seem to hear Kai Li on the balcony. Jaune remained hidden, while he remained silent as he listened. Ruby had taken notice as she sat up on the bed. She was wondering why Kai Li was on her balcony when he could come into her room. Namely due to being married and expected to have children. So Kai Li was free to 'come' and 'go' as he pleased. It's why no one really questioned it since the staff would assume they could be having sex. Something Ruby wasn't too happy over since it made her look like a whore. Ruby didn't want to get that reputation with her supposed fiance.

Maybe this had to do with Ruby being in love with Jaune Arc. She didn't even want to be with anyone else. She had thought of Jaune's proposal and perhaps ran away to the lower class. So they can finally marry and raise their child together. Ruby just couldn't leave the upper class, it would be selfish. Not when she can give her baby a better life with a wealthy lifestyle.

Ruby just didn't know what to do. Kai was sure not to pretend at this point that this baby was his now. She didn't care what others thought of her if they knew about her affair. That she fell in love with a 'soldier' from her father's army. Most women in the upper class were having affairs anyway. However, it would be different because everyone would have thought differently because she was Ruby Rose.

BANG! BANG! BANG! Loud knocks had interrupted Ruby's thoughts as she ignored it at first. Ruby believed it was someone knocking on her bedroom door to let them in. She had lifted her pillow over her head to block out the sound. Kai knew he had to get Ruby's attention. Ruby couldn't ignore the drumming as she glanced up to see her fiancé. She wanted him to stop hammering the balcony door in fear that he would wake up someone. Even worse is what everyone would think if everyone saw him trying to sneak into her room.

"Kai, what are you doing on the balcony? It's near midnight. You shouldn't even be here." Ruby's voice had a more sense of compassion. She didn't have the heart to tell him to go away. In fact, Ruby didn't believe she had any right too. Not after having an affair and getting pregnant. In fact, she believed that Kai would still be angry at her for falling for another guy. "I thought you would still be angry at me for cheating on you." Ruby had put her arm to her elbow as she looked away from Kai out of guilt.

"Yes, I am still upset with you for what you did. It's more because of how much it hurts. There's nothing that can be done about it because you don't love me in that way. However, that's beside the point. There's someone here who should be talking to you." Kai had directed Jaune to come out of his hiding spot. Ruby's eyes widened in surprise at seeing her boyfriend there. She wiped her tears because Ruby wanted to believe it was a dream.

"Jaune, what are you doing here? You shouldn't-" Before Ruby could finish, Jaune had pressed his lips onto his girlfriend. It had gotten more heated as their tongues danced around in their mouths. Jaune and Ruby's overwhelming desire for each other had taken over. Ruby quickly pushed Jaune away in annoyance. "What do you think you're doing? You can't just kiss me and think everything would be fine. Not after what happened. Jaune, you made it quite clear on how you felt about not wanting to have this baby." Ruby had crossed her arms as she tried to hide her face. She couldn't even bring herself to look at Jaune with her puffy red eyes or how much this ordeal upset her.

"Why don't you go inside to chat? I'll just wait out here. I think this is a more personal matter between you two. Not only that, but I just did my job and brought Jaune to you." Kai was looking around with a nervous expression. He wanted to protect Ruby and didn't want anyone to hear this conversation. Kai has to help maintain the lie that he is the father to Ruby's baby. This was all out of love for Ruby. This was what he kept telling himself.

Ruby knew Kai Li was right. Unless they had a good reason. She couldn't be seen in public with Jaune. Even if Kai was with both of them. There still would be a risk of anyone being suspicious either way. If anyone saw them in her room alone together. What excuse could Ruby even make? "Kai is right. We better go to my room to talk."

Both Jaune and Ruby had gone through the balcony doors as she had attempted to close the curtains. Ruby didn't want Kai Li looking at them while she talked with Jaune. Not that she was aware of the small section of the window that wasn't covered. Jaune had put his backpack down beside the bed. "We'll Jaune. What is it you wanted to say? That you would risk coming to the upper class with Kai, of all people? To be honest, it's something I wasn't even expecting."

"Kai had asked me to come with him. And well. . . Rubes, you weren't exactly direct about the fact you were carrying our child. How was I supposed to pick up those subtle hints? I thought it was Ren and Nora you were referring to too." Jaune had gently tried to explain to Ruby, he didn't want to do too much to upset her. He placed a hand on Ruby's cheek as she gently turned to look at Jaune. With her pregnancy, Jaune knew her hormones could make her unpredictable. This was something Jaune had experienced, and it wasn't easy to deal with. "I'm sorry for acting like a jerk. I didn't mean anything I said."

"I thought I was being subtle. After all, it wasn't just Ren and Nora that were having sex. We always ended up making love." Ruby answered in frustration,, but it was more that she was angry at herself. She thought she was being obvious about her pregnancy without having to say the words. That Jaune wasn't able to pick up on it. Ruby knew she could blame herself for not just coming out and saying it. Ruby was heartbroken over a misunderstanding. "You really thought I was referring to Ren and Nora? That the two of them were having a baby. Not any connection that I was the one pregnant. "

Jaune had taken her hands into his as they gazed into each other's eyes. Ruby could feel her heart racing when Jaune wrapped his arm around her. The warmth of their bodies pressed against each other had always made Ruby swoon. It was hard to keep her composer when she just wanted to leap and kiss him. "If I had known sooner. I would have told you I was happy. I am excited over the fact I am going to be a father. Ruby, I thought I scared you off when I proposed marriage. To be honest, I felt so guilty because the last I wanted to do was scare you off. And the only reason I even knew about your pregnancy is I was told directly by Kai."

"Jaune. . ." Ruby flustered. She still couldn't believe her fiancé was the reason Jaune was there. Certainly, Kai would hate him for being the other man in her life. The man Ruby had been cheating on Kai with and now expecting Jaune's child. It would be so easy to keep Jaune out of her life and not tell him about her pregnancy. Yet, Kai had taken his time to seek him out and confront Jaune for her. "Kai, really, went to the lower class to tell you."

"Well, he went to the lower class to confront me. Kai wanted to pick a fight with me. He's outside on the balcony near the secret entrance that I assume you use." Jaune remarks as Ruby eyes widened as she looks and sees Kai give a small wave. In fact, she didn't know there was even another way to get in and out of the upper class. How did Kai even know any of these routes? Was he using it to spy on her? "Your fiancé told me that if I didn't get my act together and be a father. He would be to our child regardless. Kai even said I should make an honest man out of myself. So I am permanently staying here with you and our baby. So we can raise it together. Even if it's in secret."

"Move to the upper class. You know that it's dangerous." Ruby expressed to her boyfriend in worry as she cuddled up close to him. Her voice filled with fear over the possibilities that could happen. "You know they find out about our relationship, or you're the real father to our baby. I don't want to lose you, Jaune. I can't."

"Kai said he will pretend that he is the father of our baby. At least in the eyes of the public. To your father. He wants to protect you, Ruby, regardless. Kai had addressed your pregnancy that you will need more protection. That your father will plan to hire another bodyguard. So he came up with a plan that I am a soldier that was missing in action. He managed to hack into the computer system and get the list of names. So I can just pick one as my fake name. It would be impossible for your father to remember all the names of his soldiers and what they look like. I know I have the skills to be an accomplished Huntsman and I will be able to stay here, much like with your other bodyguard. What's her name-"

"Blake." Ruby giggled as she wrapped her arms around Jaune. Just finding comfort in his arms, "And she knows how much I love you. Regardless, nothing could separate us this time. You have to promise me.

"I promise." Jaune nodded in agreement. He had sat on the bed beside her and held Ruby's hand. "The point is I will be here. I want to raise our child together, Ruby. You and our unborn child are the most important to me now." Jaune addressed Ruby with softness in his eyes as he gazed into Ruby's silver eyes. He quickly caressed her cheek while Jaune moved closer to Ruby.

Ruby frowned. She had placed the other hand on her heart. A mix of torn emotions had resided like a teardrop. "You really mean that. Are you just saying that because you found out I am pregnant and that's the reason you're staying? It's because you feel responsible for this baby I am carrying. Jaune, the risks if they find out the truth. You know the government will punish you. . . Or worse."

"Ruby, I never meant it more." Jaune assures her as he gently caresses Ruby's cheek. Ruby flustered as she gazed into her boyfriend's blue eyes. Jaune was going to risk everything to be with her in the upper class. No one has shown this kind of devotion towards her before. Kai didn't seem to show the same level in comparison. "You know how much I love you. I just want to be there, Ruby. No matter what I say or do. I don't want to ever lose you again."

"And you never will. . ." Ruby smiled before their lips met for a passionate kiss. Jaune towered over her petite frame. She had to pull her boyfriend down towards her, so he would be able to reach her level. Jaune and Ruby continued to make out as their tongues had started to dance into each other's mouths. Moans and grunts escape their lips as their hands continue to roam up and down.

Ruby had fallen backwards, as it didn't take long before Jaune had gone on top of her. Tongues entered each other's mouths as moans, grunts and groans escaped it. Ruby had fisted Jaune's blonde hair while her hands as she pulled her boyfriend closer.

"Oooh Jaune." Ruby moaned between kisses as she grew more aroused with each touch. It was in more of a whisper because neither could grab unwanted attention. It would be made even worse if the servants knew of her affair with Jaune and told her father. Ruby knew even for just these few moments that she should be forgetting it all. With her father away on a business trip to Atlas, there was no way she had to worry of him returning for a while. Jaune and Ruby had quickly gone under the bedsheets. Maybe it was more a mix of their desire for the other. Jaune slowly pulled her nightgown over Ruby's head before she took off his armor.

Clothes were all over the floor. Ruby had slid her fingers down Jaune's bare chest. The way his muscles flexed, She was so aroused as her fingers slid down. Maybe it was because of Ruby's pregnancy that her hormones gave her more sexual desires. These were feelings that couldn't be easily fought off. Jaune and Ruby's lips pressed against each other; it felt intoxicating. Their naked forms were pounding against each other like tidal waves. Restless and unpredictable.

Jaune had moved to slowly start placing kisses on Ruby's neck before moving down further as he continued to give her more pleasure. Moans of pleasure had escaped Ruby's lips. She could feel Jaune touch her breasts, and it only made her more aroused. "Please don't stop." Jaune had looked into Ruby's silver eyes as their lips met again. Neither Jaune nor Ruby were apprehensive, while they were each other's one and only.

Both of them spent the night, wildly making love to the other. There was nothing going to stop Jaune and Ruby from being together now. Neither of them were going to even think about it. All they planned to do was spend the night together at long last.

Author's Note: That's the end of the chapter. I am sure everyone has lots of questions. Like what's going to happen with Jaune and Ruby's relationship now that they have to keep it a secret in the upper class. Jaune now having to learn to act proper and be a bodyguard to Ruby. How would Kai handle all of this? Pretending to be a father of their baby in public so no one would find out? There's also Taiyang would soon learn about her pregnancy...Jaune will be interacting with characters from the upper class...and would have to pose as a solider to hide who he is...

I am starting to add things that my beta reader was against. Like Yang/Blake I really wanted to happen from the start...so I am showing more of a love triangle...and Yang sleeps around with guys to fight her sexuality. Maybe see as more of a distraction to think nothing is wrong with her.
