Within the libraries of the Southern Base, the battle between Saber, Blades and Sabela vs Durendal continued apace. The fight wasn't easy, with Durendal's time reversal powers allowing him to maintain a minor advantage by changing his opponent's location. Eventually, Sabela managed to take advantage of him using his ability on Blades to turn herself into smoke to attack. Noroshi Muchuu! She managed to distract Durendal by blocking his vision, allowing Blades to escape. Enmaku Gensou Geki!
Durendal was buffeted by this attack, but quickly recovered. "Heh, how impressive, sister. You managed to anticipate and counter my signature technique."
"You forget brother, the two of us have trained together since I began my service with the Sword of Logos.", was Sabela's comeback. "I know every move you can and will attempt to use against us."
Durendal reached to the side of where he was standing. "Is that so?" He pulled out a red coloured Wonder Ridebook, one that Saber recognised all too well. "Then how about I try something new?"
Storm Eagle! Durendal removed his Ocean History book, without closing it so his transformation would remain intact. He then inserted the Storm Eagle book he had picked up. Kaiji Bessatsu! He removed the blade portion of his weapon and reinserted it the other war around, transforming Kaiji into its sword mode. Kaiji Gyakkai! Wonder Rider! Toki wa kita! Gya-! His suit now possessed a pair of red wings on his back, with an eagle's head on his chest. "How ironic. The Flame Swordsman and his allies will fall before one of his own powers."
Saber had recovered from the shock enough to express his disbelief. "How did you get that book?"
"Oh, did nobody tell you?", Durendal laughed. "Let's just say that you have your new ally to thank for my new abilities. And 4 other books that I can call upon at will."
"Why you!", Blades yelled as he charged in, pressing the lever on his King Lion book, initiating his transformation into Lion Mode.
King Lion Dai Change!
But before he could fully pounce, Durendal waved Kaiji in a swinging motion, generating a gust of wind that blew his opponent back. "With this additional power, you can't touch me, or avoid my attacks. All of you are finished."
"Not quite.", Sabela countered, taking out two books, the third Rekka book, Saiyuu Journey and the unique book, King of Arthur. She tossed the second one to Saber. "Here, I think you can use this."
"Thank you.", Saber nodded as he inserted the book into his belt, into which he reinserted his sword, while Sabela took the other book she had picked out and inserted it into her sword. Noroshi Bessatsu! The two then initiated their transformations.
Rekka Battou! Nisatsu no hon o kasaneshi toki seinaru tsurugi ni chikara ga yadoru! Wonder Rider! Dragon! Arthur Ou! Futatsu no zokusei o sonaeshi yaiba ga togisumasa reru!
Noroshi Kaisen! Wan-Wonder Wonder Rider! Mokumoku Doron! Doron!
When the smoke and flames had cleared, the two now had modifications to the suit, with Sabela now sporting a different left arm, with a coattail. Saber now sported a blue left arm with a face for a shoulder pad and a second sword in his hand. "The one who decides the end of this story… will be us!", Saber declared.
He then proceeded to press the trigger of his new sword, the KingExcalibur, as Blades, still in his lion form, recovered and prepared his attack.
King Lion Hissatsu Dokuha!
The two then launched their attacks in unison. "King Lion Slash!"
King Slash!/King Lion Hissatsu Geki!
The two attacks hit Durendal, but he still stood in front of them. "That. Won't. Make. A. Difference!" He then roared, generating a massive storm that barely allowed any movement.
"We'll see about that.", Sabela declared as she initiated her finishing move.
Noroshi Muchuu! This time, instead of becoming smoke, Sabela generated a carpet of smoke she used to fly along the path of the storm, before generating a staff. Smoke Strike! Sabela then threw the staff directly at Durendal, knocking the blade half out of Kaiji and reverting him to Ryouga Shindai. "Now, let's go." Smoke filled the room, obscuring Ryouga's vision. When it was dispersed, Ryouga was alone, the only other thing in the room being the handle of Kaiji, causing him to growl in frustration.
In a secret location, the man known as Master Logos met with his contact, Storious. "What progress are you making with preparing your ritual?", the latter asked. "Isaac?"
Isaac merely gave a slight laugh, that was almost a giggle. "I've been able to gather several books with a connection to the Book of Knowledge. Though it will be a while before I can get the necessary 19, I believe it will be easier once I launch my assault on Northern Base. With your help, of course."
Storious laughed at this notion. "I have no need to attack Northern Base immediately. My servant has already infiltrated and brought me this." He took out a book. "Your predecessor created this book to contain the information needed to recreate the girl who connects the world. Much like the process our Alter Ridebooks use to recreate our servants as we see fit."
Isaac laughed at this. "I have no need of that either. I need merely wait for the girl herself to appear to Kamiyama Touma and then… I'll pounce.", he bragged.
"You know, you remind me of my ally Legiel.", Storious merely commented. "He was also someone who believed he could do anything. You know what happened to Legiel?"
"All too well.", was Isaac's reply. "I know where to avoid failure and I will succeed in my endeavours."
"Is that so?", Storious replied. He then brought up an image of Ryouga's all too recent humiliating defeat in the library. "Well I'm sure you can succeed with only one book and half of one sword, if you're so confident in yourself." He then turned around to leave. "If you don't mind, I'll deal with the Northern Base Swordsmen myself."
Isaac was too busy fuming to ponder how Storious acquired that footage. Instead, he simply began thinking about how annoying that was. Now he only had 1 1/2 swords in his possession, with one sealed away in a book that he was hoping to save for the ritual itself. But it looked like, events had forced his hand early.
