He had drifted through the wastes of the Arctic, in search of his missing blade. Now Ryouga Shindai stood outside the Northern Base, occupied by those he saw as the traitors. It was blocked by the barrier meant to keep out enemies bent on stealing the knowledge within the libraries of the base. "This barrier isn't impenetrable.", Ryouga said to himself. "All I have to do is find the weak point and attack it there."
As he said this, an arrow flew through the air, colliding with the barrier and shattering it. "I appreciate your sentiment." Ryouga turned to see the Story Megido Storious, along with an army of his ilk from the three categories of identified Megid. An ape-like enemy with a Stetson that obviously belonged in the Sacred-Beasts category, a cat creature weirding claws on its arms that obviously slotted into the same category and a wolf creature that was another Story category enemy. "Too good a sentiment for someone like you to act upon. So I thought ahead and took it on myself."
Ryouga hissed at this. "Talk about bad timing. Looks like I'll have to deal with them as well." He pulled out his remaining half of Kaiji and inserted his Ocean History book. "I'll have to hope the signal allows my weapon to complete itself." He pulled the trigger on the handle.
Within the Northern Base itself, the blade half of Kaiji floated away from the table, with Reika, Ogami and Daishinji all noticing. "That can't be good.", Daishinji commented.
"It's my brother.", Reika said with concern. "He must've found the other half and called it back. He'll be nearby."
"If that's the case, then you and I should deal with him." Ogami nodded as he and Reika moved out after the blade.
But they had barely passed through half of a straight corridor when they came to the Gargoyle Megid, who was accompanied by the Neko Megid with the skirt. "No, I don't think you need to go further.", the latter purred.
"There's only two of them.", Reika noted as she and Ogami placed their books on their swords. "We can take them."
"Don't rely on your eyes, Swords-woman of Smoke." As this statement rung out, the two Swordsmen were knocked down by the emergence of something from the ground. It was another Mandril Megid, but this one was wearing a fez. Noroshi and Gekido fell out of their wielders' hands and into those of the Mandril's two allies. "They can often prevent things from being clear.", the newcomer continued.
In another part of the base, Touma came across the fat Neko Megid, accompanied by a Mandril Megid wearin a Panama hat. "We'll look at me, I found the Swordsman of Flame.", the former of the two said with glee, rubbing his paws together.
"WE found him.", the Mandril growled, hitting his comrade. "And don't celebrate just yet. We still have to capture him."
"Good luck with that.", Touma commented as he donned his Swordriver, with Rekka inserted and took out two of his Ridebooks.
Primitive Dragon! He then inserted the other one into this one. Elemental Dragon! Get!
Touma then inserted the first book into his belt and pulled Rekka from its sheath. "Henshin!"
Rekka Battou! Elemental Dragon!
As Touma transformed into Saber and began slashing at the Neko Megid, only to find its fat gut was acting as a shield, the Mandril Megid moved into attack. "Now, while his back is turned…." He clenched his long fingers together, transforming them into drill heads.
"I don't think so." Before the Mandril could attack, he was hit by a flying sword entering the room. Namely, the Kogouken Saikou in his base transformed state. "How prodigious that I sensed a disturbance.", he commented.
"Why you…!", the Mandril hissed as it turned around to attack, only to be caught by tendrils from Charybdis' mouth. "What?"
"I'm taking your powers.", Charybdis hissed as it absorbed the Mandril Megid, gaining its drill head hands for itself. "I've got a score to settle with the Sword of Light."
"Hey!", the fat Neko Megid yelled as it witnessed this. I thought we were on the same side."
"That's true.", Scylla said in response as she appeared. She then opened her mouth to devour the Neko Megid. "And they say that friends should share things." Her eyes then glowed as Charybdis developed the same gut. "Just as I share the powers I devour with my cute little Chary-kun here."
"What?", Yuri asked as he summoned his shadow. Who is this? "I'm going to need to attack with my full might." He pulled out his X-Sword Man book and pressed it twice. Full colour goes to Arm! He then launched his punch at Charybdis…
…who absorbed the hit. "A nice try.", the hybrid Megid hissed before firing a concentrated energy beam from its mouth at Yuri, knocking him back. "But that one had the ability to absorb kinetic energy from the hits dealt to it, so it could be released."
"It can't be…", Touma commented as he witnessed this. "He's become more powerful than last time."
"Exactly.", Scylla replied to this. "It's all thanks to my assistance. Now then, Chary-kun, show him what you're made of."
"Oh I will, Scylla-chan." Charybdis then began spinning his new drill heads, launching them from his arms, as Scylla imbued them with her power to divide them into 4 each, all of which hit Touma and knocked him backwards.
"And that's not all I'm capable of.", Scylla giggled as she summoned up two flaming torches, which hit the ground and reconstituted the two Megido that she and Charybdis had devoured. "Say your prayers, accursed Swordsmen."
