Chapter 1

The Pokemon World is split into two, and they have been in a war against one another year after year. The first group is known as the Alliances of the East, consisting of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, and the other group is known as the Union of the West, consisting of Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar. With different cultures, people, and even Pokemon, they have been fighting to see who is stronger, just like Seviper and Zangoose, as well as Heatmor and Durant.

Even though there are two kinds of unities, a region is known as the Sevestar Region is in the middle. Because of it, it has become a common battlefield for two sides. But still, there is a school located in the middle and it is called the RPA High. Either side has a lot of students attending and school fights are also common in these places. How do they fight, if you ask? The answer is obvious, Pokemon Battles, which is something both sides are agreed to.

Standing at the side with the Alliances of the East, a boy stands in front of all the students with a Pikachu by his shoulder. "So you want a Pokemon Battle? Fine by me."

And standing at the other side, a girl is leading the students with a Sylveon by her side. She says, "Bring it on, I won't lose to the likes of you."

The boy is called Ash Ketchum, he is born in the Kanto Region as he is also a well-known battler. He has participated in all kinds of Leagues and gets into a lot of high places, even in the West, considering a lot of people challenged him and lost. As for the girl, she is called Serena Yvonne, she is from the Kalos Region. Not only she is a strong battler, she is also a strong performer as she won all kinds of Grand Festival, even those in the East.

"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Ash yells as Pikachu starts to shoot electricity.

"Counter with Fairy Wind!" Serena yells back as both sides are not holding back. The other students are also fighting with each other. But during the match, Ash is struggling, not because of the battle, but something in their minds.

"Ash, we will fight her as well, you don't need to do this alone." A girl with an Eevee says.

"No, Chloe, this is my fight, I won't let anyone take my glory!" Ash replies back.

"You are not going to harm our princess. We will also protect her!" They see that a boy with glasses is using Luxray as he says.

"Then if you want to protect her, then go to hell!" Ash yells as Pikachu uses Dig to knock down the Luxray.

Serena gets a tick mark and says, "Clemont, this is my battle, I don't need any protection. Just because I am a girl doesn't mean I can't handle myself!"

Both sides are fighting fiercely until the teachers come. "What are you doing?! We told you that fights are prohibited on the school grounds!"

Both groups notice the teachers are there as they quickly retreat, not before giving nasty remarks at one another.

"That Serena...if she did give up, we could have won!" A boy named Goh mutters.

"He's right, the only person that can take her down is you, Ash." Another boy named Barry replies.

Ash is silent, as Chloe walks towards him. "Ash? Are you okay? Is there something wrong?"

Ash stands up from his seat and says, "I am going out for a walk."

Then Ash is walking alone with only Pikachu by his side. He punches the wall with a growl. "Damn it...Why does this happen to me?"

(Flashback)

"Where is everybody? Where do you all go?" A younger Serena was looking around in the forest worriedly.

Suddenly, a Poliwag appears, which causes her to fall on the ground and hurts her knee. Then she starts to form tears.

"I knew I should have come to this Summer Camp..." Then she cries out for her mother sadly.

Just then, she hears someone says, "Poliwag, where are you?"

Then a younger boy emerges from the bushes and then notices her. Then he says, "Are you alright?"

As the boy stops in front of her, he says, "I am Ash. What's wrong?"

Serena says, "I hurt my leg..."

Ash notices the blood coming from her knee, then he takes out a handkerchief and then ties it around her knee. "See, it is better, now watch this, Pain Pain go away!" He says as he waves his arms.

Serena tries to move her leg, but she feels pain. "It still hurts..."

Ash takes out his hand and says, "Come on, don't give up until it is over." He pulls her up and holds her in his arms, causing her to blush.

"See, you did it." Ash says while grinning, "Let's get back to the camp."

Then the two walk together back to the camp, as Serena forms a blush on her face.

(Flashback end)

"Because of that...I can't even harm her, and I have started to develop feelings for her as well..." Ash mutters as he accidentally steps into the dorm where the Union of the West is staying. He notices that Serena is using Delphox to battle a Marowak, using Psychic, the Marowak is slammed to the ground.

"Thank you for the match, Kiawe." Serena says as he recalls Delphox.

"Looks like you have been working very hard, Serena." Kiawe replies.

"Indeed, you can put our enemy into shame if you continue to do this." Clemont says.

"No, I still have a long way to go." Serena replies. "I am not strong enough to change the world. People mock me just because I am a performer instead of a battler. Not only that, that Ash Ketchum is always looking down on me! That's something unforgivable! I am not going to let him get away with it!"

Ash frowns, as he can't believe Serena is showing much hatred against him. He decides to leave until they find some brats from Johto are trying to provoke the West by painting the walls blue.

"Why are you doing this?" Serena asks the brats, one of them replies, "We are going to teach you guys a lesson! You said we are weak, so we want to prove that we are stronger than you!"

Serena looks at the brats who are crying, and she says, "You are weak. Look at you, whimpering instead of fighting, if you want to prove that you are stronger, then you should challenge us face to face instead of doing these things."

She also pets the boy's head, much to the surprise of the others. One Galarian asks, "What are you thinking? if we just let them go, the East is going to think they can just mess with us!"

Serena replies, "Why are you losing cool to children? If you want to be the Best West, then you should fight with honor."

And that words shut the Galarian's mouth, but then Ash decides to stop hiding as he gives her a clap. "That was such a nice quote, princess."

"You!" The West is now glaring at Ash, preparing to have a fight with him. Ash chuckles and says, "You can't win against me, so don't waste your strength."

"What are you doing here, Ash?" Serena demands.

"What do you think? I am just throwing down the gauntlet. Tonight at the garden, one against one, alone. Is that fine for you?" Ash says as he throws the glove to the ground.

"And why do you think Lady Serena will accept it?" One Alolan yells, but Serena just picks up the glove and says, "I accept the challenge."

"But Serena..." Clemont says.

"No buts! This time I am going to defeat Ash Ketchum once and for all!" Serena says as Ash just smirks at her before leaving. Some West people are trying to attack him, but Ash says, "Greninja! Water Shuriken on all the attackers!"

Greninja appears in his bond phenomenon form as he defeats all the Pokemon with one shot. A lot of people are sweating as they know that the Greninja is the same one that manages to defeat a lot of Kalosians with ease.

"If you really are the Best West, then don't try to play dirty." Ash taunts before leaving, and Serena just stares in the direction that Ash is heading.

That night, Serena walks to the garden and sees Ash there, Ash says, "So you've come. I was scared that you wouldn't."

"What a joke. Why do want me to come here? Another battle to mock me?" Serena asks.

"I didn't mean to mock you." Ash says without losing his cool.

"Then why are you holding back on me?" Serena yells at him. "If you are pitying me, then it would be the same as mocking me! And I want you to consider me a rival, but I can't bear for you to think I'm weak!"

Ash sighs, it is true that he wins a lot of battles without holding back, but with Serena, he would try to hold her back because he doesn't want to hurt her. Ash sighs and says, "If that's what you want, then I am not going to hold back on you."

Serena is surprised, but then she goes with her Sylveon while Ash is using his Pikachu. Ash says, "Pikachu, start with Thunderbolt!"

"Sylveon! Dodge it and use Moonblast!" Serena yells back.

Both sides are fighting harsher than before, and Ash says, "The reason I hold back on you, it's because I love you!"

Serena blushes a little, but then she turns to anger, "What are you talking about? We are in the middle of the battle! Don't you dare try to distract me!"

"I am not! This is what I truly feel about you! I don't think you are weak! It is just I don't want to hurt you just because I won against you!" Ash yells back as Pikachu uses Volt Tackle to slam Sylveon into the tree. "You should notice this! You dense head!"

"How am I supposed to know!" Sylveon gets back up and goes for Giga Impact, which also slams Pikachu into the water. "We're enemies!"

"That's why I could never tell you! I can't count the number of times I wished we were from the same Region! The number of times I told myself to give up! But I am not going to give up until it is over! I am going to change the world, to make it better!"

Ash accidentally goes for the Z Move Gigavolt Havoc, which slams Sylveon back to Serena as she falls down, a handkerchief also drops from the pocket as Ash picks it up.

"Ash..." Serena is struggling as she notices the handkerchief in his hand. "Hey, that..."

"That was my handkerchief until I gave it to a girl that I saved from the woods." Ash says, and Serena gasps as she starts to remember the same boy that she met when she was little, it has the same hairstyle as Ash.

"You...are you the boy...that saved me from the woods?" Serena slowly asks.

"So you do remember, ever since that day, I have fallen in love with you, that's why I came to the West even though I know I would be ganged up on there." Ash says.

"I have been finding the boy as well...that's why I also came to the East even though I wouldn't be accepted there..." Serena says.

"That's why I am going to change the world! If that's the only way I can be with you..." Ash says.

"You can't change the world alone." Serena manages to stand back up and says, "I am going to help you do it. I'll go out with you, so you'd better show me how you would change the world."

Ash nods and says, "Then our relationship should be kept secret, are we clear?"

Serena nods with blush and says, "Of course. I won't tell others, and I assume you would do the same."

The two then hug each other for a minute, after that, they decide to go separate ways and back to their own dorms.

And here is the new first chapter, and as you can see, I decide to use the RPA High format for this story. I hope you like this chapter.
