Hello, this is Raychiu and this is my first Blue's Clues fanfiction. In this story, I am going to be the viewer in the cartoon as I will try to write more interactions with Steve and Blue. There will be all the episodes from the TV Show, and there will also be minor ones that I made on my own. Starting this chapter and let's go.

Chapter 1 The Introduction

"Ray, this is the new house that we are going to live in." My mom said to me after we arrived at a house which is located in a small town, I looked around and I can see a lot of living and talking mailboxes, some pets like cats and ducks who are also talking as well.

"So are we really going to live here? I mean...this is very different from the place I used to live in..." I say.

"I know. Since we are finished moving in, how about you go look around and meet the neighbors?" My mom asked me.

"Sure. But I wonder if the neighbor is friendly..." Ray mutters as he looks at a house that is on top of a hill, it has yellow walls, a purple door, a red roof, and a purple mailbox that is close to the street.

"I wonder who lives here..." I wondered as I walk to the house and press the doorbell. Much to my relief, the person who opens the door is an eighteen-year-old boy with brown hair, he is wearing a green striped shirt, tan pants, and shoes. He says, "Oh, hi. May I help you?"

I take a deep breath and say, "Hello, my name is Ray and I am new to this place..."

"Oh, you must be our new neighbor. I'm Steve, the owner of this house and it is nice to meet you." Steve smiles as he gives me a hand, I hesitated at first, but I decided to shake his hand as well. "You must be nervous because you are in a new area, is that right?"

"Well, that's true..." I muttered. Steve says, "Well, come on in, it won't be appropriate to talk outside of the house."

I nod as I follow him into the house, I can see a big red chair in front of my sight along with a drawer with a phone on it, and a yellow frame that is on the wall.

"Is that your chair? It looks big..." I say. Steve smiles and replies, "This is my thinking chair, I usually sit here to think a lot of things."

"What kind of things?" I question him, and he says, "Well, before we talk about that, I want you to meet my friend." He turns around and yells, "Blue! We have a special guest!"

In front of my sight, a blue-colored puppy with darker spots appears in front of me. Unlike the other puppies that I met outside, this one can't talk human. I ask Steve, "Is that your puppy?"

"You're right. Her name is Blue. Blue, this is Ray, he is our new neighbor." Blue jumps into my arms and licks my face, I feel tickled by the action and I laughed a little. After that, Blue jumps back down to the floor from my arms, and Steve asks, "Blue, since Ray is our new neighbor, what do you think we should do to welcome him to our neighborhood?"

I was surprised as Steve is talking to his puppy, and not only that, he said he wants to welcome me to a new neighborhood. Steve sure is a kind person in my opinion. Just then, Blue suddenly walks to the wall and places a pawprint on it. I was confused at what just happened, but Steve says, "I see. We'll play Blue's Clues to figure out how to welcome our new friend Ray."

"Blue's Clues? What is that?" I ask Steve, and he says, "Oh, it is a game that Blue and I played for a long time, do you want to play with us?"

"That sounds interesting. I will like to try it out." I say. "But can you tell me how to play it?"

"Of course, but first, we need to clean this pawprint on the wall." Steve says as he takes out a cloth and wipes it out. "There, now it is gone."

"So is that some sort of ink?" I ask again, and Steve shrugs, "Maybe, but I can tell you they are magical. Since you are new to this game, I'll show you how to play it. First, we need to take our handy dandy notebook."

"Handy Dandy Notebook? That's an interesting name." I say, and then I see Steve walk to a drawer, who is also a living being. "Hey, Side Table Drawer, this is Ray, and he is our new neighbor."

"It's nice to meet you, Ray." Side Table Drawer says, and I was shocked, this is my first time talking to a drawer. "You too, Side Table Drawer."

"Since Ray is new here, I want to teach him how to play Blue's Clues, so can I have my Notebook?"

"Blue's Clues? I'm so excited." Then she opens her drawer and Steve takes the notebook from it. "Now before we play this game, I have a special song that will explain the rules of how to play Blue's Clues."

"A song?" I ask, and then I can hear the music playing as Steve and Blue starts to sing and dance. "We've gotta find a paw print. That's the first clue, we put it in our notebook and now what do we do? (Spins around) Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues."

"Blue's Clues?" I ask and he starts to sing the second part. "We've gotta find another paw print, that's the second clue, we put it in our notebook, now what do we do? (Spins his arms) Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues."

This song is quite catchy to remember, I must say, and now he sings again, "We've gotta find another paw print, that's the third clue. We put it in our notebook and, well, you know what to do! Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues!"

"I know what to do?" I was confused again, and Steve and Blue continues to sing and dance. "Well we sit down in our Thinking Chair and think, think, think. 'Cause when we use our minds and take a step at a time. We can do anything..."

Just then, Steve ducks down as Blue jumps right over him, and then he stands up and sings, "That we want to do!"

After he does those jazz hands, I say, "So let me get this straight...we will find three pawprints and they are on the three clues, then you'll write it down into your notebook and then you know what Blue wants?"

"Exactly. So before we start, we have to know which way Blue went. Do you see which way she go?" Steve asks.

"Well, I think she went to the left? Which seems to be your kitchen?" I ask.

"Thanks, let's go." I follow Steve as we are walking towards the kitchen, but I stopped since I see something on the table, it is a small box with a blue pawprint on it.

"Um, Steve?" I call out to him as he stops as well. "What is it, Ray?"

"I'm not sure, but I think I saw a clue." I say.

"You see a clue? Where?" Steve asks me and I point at the box. He sees it and says, "You found our first clue, and it is on a box. Well, you know what we need, our handy dandy..."

"Notebook?" I ask, and he takes it out and starts to draw a box. "So to draw a box, we have to draw a rectangle, and then some lines down here, and another line, and there we have a box." Steve says as he finishes drawing.

"You're really good at drawing, Steve." I say in awe.

"Thanks, our first clue is a Box." Steve says as somehow, the drawing of a box appears out of the notebook, much to my surprise, Steve notices it and says, "So what do you think Blue wants to do to welcome you, with a box?"

"A box might have a lot of uses, so I am not sure about it." I say.

"I think we need to find two more clues, just to be sure." Then the picture somehow goes back into the notebook. "By the way, since you are here, how about I show you around our rooms?"

I nod as I follow him to the kitchen, and he says, "This is the kitchen, I would want to introduce you to my friends, but unfortunately, they are not home yet."

"What do you mean by that?" I ask in confusion, and Steve says, "Well, some of our family are having a picnic outside, so the only ones that are here in the room are me, Blue, Side Table Drawer, and Mailbox."

"I see..." I nod. "So you have more of them living here, is that right?"

"Yeah, here in the kitchen, we have Mr. Salt and Ms. Pepper." Steve shows me a photo as I am surprised to see that they are both shakers that are also living beings. "They are the ones that help us cook in our house."

"Sounds like you have great chefs in the house." I comment, and Steve smiles, "You're right about that. And from the door over there, we have our own backyard where Shovel and Pail would play there."

"I guess they are also your friends as well?" I ask.

"You're right. They like to explore the whole backyard and we have a lot of fun from it." Steve says.

Then we are taken to the bedroom, as Steve shows me another picture of a family member, "This is Tickety Tock, she is a clock and she likes numbers a lot."

"I can tell. And what about the other photo?" I ask.

"This is Slippery Soap. He usually stays in the bathroom as there are a lot of things we can do there as well." Steve says. "And that's all our friends in the house."

"I must say, you really have a lot of good friends, it is a shame that I never get to meet them."

"I'm sure you can do it next time." Steve says as we continue to look around the place. I notice a ribbon on the table with a blue pawprint on it. I say, "Steve...I think I find the second clue!"

Steve hears my voice as he rushes to look in my direction. He says, "You're right. You found our second clue, and it is on the ribbon. So now we will need our notebook once again."

Then he starts to draw the ribbon, as he explains, "First, we have to write a long line, and then some zigzags on it, then we write another long line and some zigzags, there, we have a ribbon."

"So our two clues are a box and a ribbon?" I ask, and Steve says, "But what will Blue want to do to welcome me with a box and a ribbon? I think we'd better find our last clue just to be sure."

Just then, we hear a strange sound that sings mail time, and Steve just says, "The mail's here!"

As he rushes to the living room, both Blue and him are dancing around and sing, "Here's the mail, it never fails, it makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes I wanna wail, MAIL!"

After that, from the window, Mailbox manages to get into the house as Steve sits on the thinking chair. "Mail's here, and you must be the new neighbor that's moved in not long ago, right?"

"I think you saw that, right? I am Ray." I say.

"Ray is new to this place, so I am showing him around my house." Steve says.

"I see, well, here's your letter." After Mailbox opens its lid, Steve takes a letter out and then Mailbox leaves. "How did he do that?" I ask, and Steve says, "It is one of his inventions, he can extend his box to the living room at will."

"Okay." I say and Steve opens his letter, much to my surprise, it is a video letter with Steve's friends inside.

"Hi, Steve! Today I have a new neighbor and I'm going to show him around my house." The letter says as I was surprised to see how the girl inside the letter is showing her friend to her house. After the mail ends, Steve places the letter under the chair and says, "Well, getting to know new friends is amazing, don't you think?"

"Of course." I say, and Blue also agrees, but suddenly, Blue starts to spin around and I ask, "What is she doing?"

And to my shock, Blue jumps into the yellow picture frame, which is a picture of a street with buildings. Steve says, "Oh, Blue just skidooed into the picture of a street."

"Skidooed? What is that?" I ask, and Steve says, "It is a way of us to travel around different places, if you have a picture or a book, you can sing the magic song, and you will be capable of traveling to another place."

"Wow...I want to try it out." I say, and then Steve grabs my hand, and then he says, "Sing it with me. Blue Skidoo, we can too!"

Much to my surprise, at first I was just staying at Steve's house, and now we are on a street that is crowded with people.

"Check out this place..." Steve says as he looks around. "This is your first time skidoo, how are you feeling?"

"Weird...but cool." I say, and Blue also barks for us to come at her, so we rush to find Blue. As we are in front of a store, Steve says, "Looks like Blue is playing hide and seek with us. She likes to play this kind of game. Do you want to help me find her?"

"Sure." I say, and then we start to look for Blue. First, we find Blue hiding under the table at the cafe, and then in the park, he was hiding on top of the tree, don't ask me how she does it, and finally, we managed to get to a store that sells all kinds of stationery, and Steve says, "You're really good at finding Blue."

"You think so?" I say, and then I notice a pawprint in my sight. I say, "Steve, I think I saw a clue."

"You see a clue? Here in this street? Where is it?"Steve asks as he is looking around, I sigh and pull him to see the pawprint, and he says, "You found our last clue, and it's on..."

"A wrapping paper." I say, and Steve says, "Right, a wrapping paper. You know what to do now, we need our handy dandy..."

"Notebook." I say, and Steve manages to take out his notebook and draws the wrapping paper. "So first, we need to draw a line, and then make a square, then we will draw a circle and some swirls to make the paper wrapped up. And there, we have Wrapping paper."

After putting his notebook away, he says, "Hey, we have all three clues, do you know what that means? We're ready to sit in our..."

"Thinking chair?" I ask, and Steve nods as we quickly find the same yellow picture frame in front of a store and start to skidoo back to the house. I'm still surprised it works as Steve sits down on the thinking chair.

"Now that we're on our thinking chair, let's think. So what will Blue want to do to welcome you, and our first clue is...a box, the second clue is a ribbon, and our last clue is wrapping paper."

To me, the three clues together are quite obvious, but Steve comes up with an idea and says, "How about we put the ribbon and the wrapping paper in the box?"

"I don't think that is what Blue wants..." I say, and Blue also shakes her head as well.

Then he starts to think carefully, and then he says, "I got it, Blue wants to give you a present to welcome you! That's it! We just figured out Blue's Clues!"

Then after a small dance of figuring out the game, Steve and Blue decide to leave as I stood there thinking what kind of gift Steve and Blue want to give me. After a while, they come back with a present box, I ask, "Is this for me? Thank you very much."

"No problem." Steve says. "I am sure that you'll like the present Blue and I make for you."

Just then, my phone rings and I know that my mother is trying to call me. I say, "Well, I'm glad to meet you two as my good friends, but I have to go now, my mom is waiting for me to go back home."

"It's fine. You're welcomed to come back again anytime you like." Then Steve starts to sing a song to bid me farewell, " Now it's time for so long. But we'll sing just one more song. Thanks for doing your part. You sure are smart. You know with me, and you, and my dog Blue. We can do anything that we want to do!"

I smile as I leave the house, bidding farewell to Blue who waves at me from the window. Once I get back to my house, my mom greets me and says, "How is your day going? Have you met your new neighbors?"

"Of course, I have a lot of fun with my new neighbor, and he also gave me a gift." I say as I show her the gift, my mom seems to be happy that I found a friend, and she says, "Well, that is some good news, how about you look around your new room?"

"Okay, Mom." After that, I get into my new room and I start to open the box that Steve and Blue give me, it is a picture that has Steve, Blue, and me. I feel so touched as I keep this picture on my desk.

"Steve and Blue...I can't wait for my next visit." I say to myself.

And here is my first chapter, I want this to be an introduction so that you'll know how I'm going to write this story. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be Snack Time, the first episode of Blue's Clues in the cartoon.
