Chapter 5
"So you must be my partner?" Ashlie asks the boy beside him, he says, "Yep, I'm Goomba, it is an honor to fight alongside the princess of the Ceolis Region."
"Yeah, right." Ashlie says, "Our opponents are Brock and Lucy, whatever you do, leave that pervert to me."
"Pervert?" Goomba is confused until he realizes what Ashlie is referring to. "Oh..."
After both sides arrive at the battlefield, Brock is glaring at Ashlie, who doesn't care about his glare. After the referee states the rules, Brock and Lucy go for Blissey and Seviper respectively.
"Go, Spiky." Goomba throws a Pokeball and comes out a Pichu, Ashlie rolls her eyes and says, "Really? A Pichu? Are you kidding me?"
"Trust me, Spiky and I have been through a lot of battles." Goomba says.
"Fine." She throws a Pokeball and sends out a Uxie. Brock yells with anger, "What? Is that a Uxie?"
"What do you think?" Ashlie says, which causes Brock to get angrier. Blissey goes for Pound but Ashlie calls Uxie to use Psychic to lift Blissey up and slams to the wall.
"Use Soft-Boiled!" Blissey tries to use the egg to recover, but Uxie manages to snatch the egg, causing Blissey to cry in tears as she wants the egg back.
At the same time, Goomba is facing Lucy, and he says, "Even though you are a Frontier Brain, but Spiky can win this."
"Aren't you a little overconfident?" Lucy says, "Use Poison Tail!"
Goomba's Pichu manages to dodge the attack, and he says, "Ashlie, have Uxie get out of the way, because here comes Surf!"
Uxie manages to float higher as the surge of water washes both Pokemon, causing them to faint in the end.
"Maybe your Pichu is strong after all." Ashlie comments.
"Told you so." Goomba says.
Brock recalls Blissey angrily as he goes for Steelix, while Lucy goes for Milotic, and both Goomba and Ashlie switch their Pokemon to Chuster and Rai, Goomba's Alolan Raichu.
"So you have a Raichu even though you already have a Pichu? Weird..." Ashlie says.
Brock mocks, "Both of them are Electric Types, this will be a piece of cake for Steelix. Use Iron Tail!"
Steelix slams its tail at the two mouse Pokemon, but Ashlie says, "Never underestimate us, use Splishy Splash!"
Pikachu goes for the water move and it damages Steelix a lot, much to Brock's frustration. "Rai, use Brick Break on that huge steel snake!"
Alolan Raichu surfs towards the snake as it goes for the Fighting attack, and it manages to deal much damage.
"Goomba, I told you leave that pervert to me, you just need to handle that Frontier Brain!" Ashlie says as Goomba shrugs. "Fine by me, princess."
After a while, Chuster goes for another Blizzard attack, which manages to knock out the Steelix. As for Goomba, he has Raichu use Stoked Sparksurfer, which also knocks out Milotic.
"Both Milotic and Steelix are unable to battle! Ashlie and Goomba are the winners and they will be advancing to the next round!"
The crowd cheers at both of them, while Brock is pulling his hair in rage. Ashlie and Goomba leave as Ashlie smiles a little at her first victory.
"So do you want to hang out for a while after the tough battle?" Goomba asks Ashlie, who shrugs and says, "I am not sure if that battle is tough, but there are no interesting battles afterward, so I don't see the reason not to."
As they continue to walk, they find Ash and Lillie standing there waiting for them. Ash says, "Well done, Ashlie, you won against that pervert with ease."
"Now we aren't calling him Brock, huh? I don't really mind." Ashlie says. "And Dad, Mom, this is my partner Goomba. I'm going to hang out with him for a while since there won't be any interesting matches afterwards."
"I see." Lillie says with a smile, "Just be safe and don't do something reckless."
"I won't, Mama." Ashlie says as she leaves with Goomba. Ash turns to Lillie and says, "Looks like Ashlie made a new friend, I am very proud of her."
"I agree." Lillie says. "And just like what Ashlie had said, there aren't interesting battles, how about we try to go somewhere for fun?"
"And what are you suggesting?" Ash asks.
"How about we go to the Legend Dairy? I missed those Moomoo Milks produced there." Lillie suggests, and Ash smiles, "Nothing better."
"Hey wait!" Just then, they turn around and see Gladion walking towards them, but this time he is alone, and Lillie mutters, "Here comes the annoying edgelord who doesn't learn his errors..."
"Let's see what he wants now." Ash says as they turn around and face him.
"What do you want, Gladion? You do realize that this is our domain and you have no right to boss me around." Lillie says.
"I just want to talk to you, that's all." Gladion says.
"Talk to me, about what?" Lillie asks while folding her hands.
"Why are you staying with a person like Ash? What does he have while I don't?" Gladion asks.
"Are you still arguing about that?" Lillie is in disbelief, and now she is furious once more. "Ash is over a million times better than you! He treats me as an equal instead of being in a rich family like a spoiled brat! And he is the strongest trainer I know in this Ceolis Region, considering that he even beat his Dad!"
Ash decides to interrupt and says, "Listen here, Gladion. You are only upsetting Lillie, I suggest you forget about this conversation and leave."
"You have no right to tell me to leave, I am his brother." Gladion retorts back.
"Wrong, you said that I am not Lillie and I am just a girl with plastic surgery, that means I am not your sister, so you're not my brother." Gladion widens his eyes as Lillie used his own words against him.
"Let's go, Ash. The Flying Taxi won't be waiting for us." Ash nods as both of them leave the place, leaving a dumbfounded Gladion.
"So you mean that this place has 18 gyms?" Goomba asks with surprise. "I mean, I can't believe there is a region that would give every type a gym..."
"I know, right? My Dad has a hard time trying to beat them all, but he still did it." Ashlie says while eating a molten chocolate cake and some donuts. "How do you like the desserts here so far?"
"I must say that they are good." Goomba says while eating another donut.
"Of course they are good, I mean both Hoopa and Volcanion are crazy for these donuts, while Groudon is crazy for the molten chocolate cake." Ashlie says. "If you don't know, donuts are originated because of Volcanion's hoop."
"I never knew that, I mean, is it really true?" Goomba asks.
"The Sea Stars all said that." Ashlie says.
Just then, they notice three people are walking past, which are Gina, Isabelle, and Carol. "Gina! Isabelle! Carol! It's good to see you again!"
Carol is the one that replies as she says, "Oh my, Ashlie! What are you doing here?"
"Hanging out with my new friend." Ashlie says. "Goomba, these are the supernatural trio, Gina, the Ghost Type Leader, Isabelle, the Psychic Leader, and Carol, the Fairy Type Leader."
"Okay, it's nice to meet you." Just as Goomba said that, Gina suddenly walks towards Goomba and licks his face.
"Hey! What are you doing? That's gross!" Goomba says.
"That is Gina's way of communicating. You have to believe how many times she did that to us." Ashlie chuckles.
"And when a bear comes into the sight, the deer suddenly screams and it starts to run away, but the bear decides to chase after the deer as they soar through the forest." Isabelle says, and Goomba asks, "What is she doing?"
"Oh, Isabelle always says nonsense every time we meet her, she is a powerful Psychic as she has her mind in her own imaginary world...and trust me, she is also a good hacker, and this Pokedex is proof."
Goomba looks at the Pokedex and he says, "What the hell? How is Mr. Mime called Rubber Ducky in the entry?"
"I have been wondering the same thing." Ashlie shrugs. "But Carol is the normal one out of them, the only thing that is weird is that she doesn't age."
"So where is your soup or hero father?" Carol asks, and Ashlie says, "You mean Papa? He is probably hanging out with Mama somewhere."
"I see, we are just going to take some rest at the Lightning Longue, do you want to come as well?" Carol asks.
"Sure, it will be nice to hear one of that music from DJ Ultra Beats." Ashlie says as she drags Goomba along.
At the same time, Ash and Lillie are enjoying themselves in Legend Dairy, they are having ice cream and talking about stuff.
Ash says, "By the way, how is your idol life doing, Lillie?"
"With you as a manager, we enjoy the live concerts that we had a week ago." Lillie smiles. "I still remember how Chelsea asks me to sing at the Lightning Longe and how I became an idol after singing her songs in front of the crowd."
"Yeah, not to mention that we also went to Planet Coral and Planet Puzzle because of that." Ash says. "Speaking of outer space, it has been a while since we have gone to those 4 planets."
"Planet Disco, Planet Coral, Planet Amity, and Planet Puzzle. Those are some great memories. Without Agne's help, we won't be able to go to each of them." Lillie says.
They start to remember how they go to Planet Disco to find Ceolis, and how they have a party with Palkia as the DJ. At Planet Coral, they still remember how the Smoothie is filming a PV there and the three towers that represent Soul, Heart, and Knowledge. At Planet Amity, it is actually where Meltan and Melmetal are from, and Ash's Melmetal is very happy to have fun there. And finally, they still remember the six Regis being hosts for the 8 members of Smoothie to complete their own trials.
But their happy moment is interrupted as the traitors are approaching them. Ash says, "Looks like your brother can't talk to you alone, so he brings some helpers."
"And I am surprised that they know where we are, probably because we mentioned this place to that edgelord."
"Hey you! You have been very hard to find!" Misty yells as Ash says, "I'm sorry that you come all the way here for nothing. I am surprised that none of you are battling today."
"Very funny." Goh says. "Why don't you just give up all your Pokemon and stay in prison-like you should?"
"And what? I am surprised that you would stand by their side, Goh." Ash sighs, "Then again, you just capture Pokemon just for the Pokedex, you didn't even raise them with love and care."
Lillie says, "And why should he stay in prison while he did nothing wrong? Maybe you should be in the prison instead."
Ash and Lillie chuckle at the joke, but before they can attack them, Cobalion appears and it glares at them.
"Oh, by the way, Legend Dairy is Cobalion's domain, and he doesn't like people like you." Ash says as Cobalion uses Metal Sound, which causes them to cover their ears. Ash and Lillie hop on Cobalion and says, "Take us to Bolaii Beach, please."
Cobalion nods as they get away, causing the traitors to fume in anger.
