Chapter 13 Wild Area Hunt Part 2
Ash and the group are walking at the Giant's Seat after passing North Lake Miloch, and Ash says, "The Pokemon here looks a lot stronger than the other places."
"I agree...but I think I'll capture that Bronzor." Gloria says as she goes for the Pokemon. Using Scorbunny, she manages to land the hit with Blaze Kick, and then Gloria uses the chance to capture the Pokemon.
And then they also encounter the Dynamax Onix, so they also have another battle with this time Ash is the one who uses Dynamax, but when Pikachu becomes bigger, it looks different, much to their surprise.
"It is not a Dynamax Pikachu, but a Gigantamax Pikachu..." Alice says.
"So Gigantamax Pikachu? How is it possible?" Ash mutters.
"I don't know. But it is a good opportunity." Lillie says.
Then with the help of other Pokemon, it defeats Onix with the Max Knuckle, and Ash also captures the Pokemon in the end.
"So what is the difference between Dynamax and Gigantamax?" Serena asks.
Mark replies, "Gigantamax is capable of changing forms and the Max Move will be changed into G-Max Move. Even though we didn't see it, but when Pikachu Gigantamaxed, it uses G-Max Volt Crash instead of Max Lightning. The additional effect changes from creating Electric Terrain into paralyzing the opponent."
"That sounds very cool. But how are we going to change Dynamax Pokemon into Gigantamax form?" Serena asks.
"I am not sure if there is a way to do that, to tell the truth." Gloria sighs, "But the Rotom Dex should be able to check what Pokemon has the Gigantamax Factor."
Ash checks out his Pokemon, and he is surprised to find that his Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle, Butterfree, Pikachu, Gengar, Kingler, Lapras, Snorlax, Melmetal, and even Rookidee have the Gigantamax Factor, he says, "That sure is a lot of them..."
"Well, none of our Pokemon are capable of Gigantamaxing..." Mark says.
"I have a Blipbug and Chewtle that has the factor, but I will need to train them into their final form if I want to have the new form..." Gloria says with a sigh.
Lillie says, "And Ash, I have found these after we finished the Dynamax battle."
He takes out some candies and Dawn asks, "Are those Rare Candies? I heard that they are very rare and expensive..."
"No, that is the Exp. Candy. With our Dynamax powers, we can only find 1-star raids, so those are Exp. Candy XS. Those are for 100 Experience points for a Pokemon." Trenor says.
"So they are just some training boost treats." Ash says, "And what about this black disk? I was thinking this is some sort of TM, but it is black and it contains the move Spikes."
"Those are TRs, They stand for Technical Records, after using them, they will break, unlike TMs, which can be repeatedly used." Gloria says. "You don't see those often in other regions."
"I see." Ash says.
And they find a Watt Trader, who sells items in exchange for Watts, they manage to exchange some custom Pokeballs, but they are curious about the item Wishing Piece.
Trenor says, "Wishing Pieces are special luring items, if you throw it into the den, a Dynamax Pokemon will come to you."
"Maybe we can buy these for some Dynamax battles." Ash says as he purchases some of them.
"You know, all that walking around the Wild Area is making us tired, how about we take a rest and we have some lunch?" Alice asks. "Sonia did say that camping is also one of the main attractions in the Wild Area."
"Now that you mentioned, I do see a lot of campsites around here." Ash says.
After they are setting up the tent, Ash and Alice decide to make some curry. They put a curry pack and some berries into the pot, and Alice asks, "Ash, do you want to buy some ingredients from the Camping King?"
"Sure." Ash says as Gloria decides to go with Ash as they find the Camping King, they find a lot of ingredients that they sell, and they decide to pick Precooked Burger, Smoked Poke Tail, and Bach's Food Tin, a tin that they don't know what is inside.
Once they get back, they manage to make five kinds of curry, much to the surprise of the others. "Wow, what kind of curry are those?" Dawn asks.
"First, we have the Burger-Steak Curry, breaking up the burger into the curry, mixing it, and eating it that way creates a supereffective taste. Next, we have Sweet Apple curry, the meeting of sweet curry roux and sweet apple. The sweetness strikes the tongue and heart so profoundly, it leaves you feeling almost numb. Third, we have Bitter Leek Curry. The fresh sweetness of the leek makes the curry roux's bitter flavor all the more vivid. Fourth, we have Spicy Smoked-Tail Curry. The sharp bite of the spicy curry roux helps with the overpowering heaviness of the tail, making it easier to eat. And finally, we have Dry Rich Curry. The curry roux's refreshing dry flavor brings out the rich taste of the tinned foods all the more in this curry." Gloria says.
"Those sure are delicious." Mark says as he picks a bowl, and the others are doing the same. While they are eating, Gloria says, "Curry is Galar's main food, much like Kalos' Pokepuffs, Alola's Poke Beans, and even Poffins in Sinnoh. There is even a Curry Dex that lists 151 curries in total."
"Seriously? Curry Dex?" Serena asks with surprise.
"The curries are judged by special chefs, and they will give ranks for the curries as well. With the highest being Charizard class, and the lowest being Koffing class." Gloria says.
"That sure is a little confusing, but okay." Lillie says. "But I really like how the apple goes well with the sweet curry."
"Me too." Ash says, "At first I was confused about what this Bach's Food Tin is about, but I'm glad they are delicious."
Gloria says, "We also notice that they are also selling pieces of bread, Moomoo Cheese, Mixed Mushrooms, Fruit brunch and so on. Everything sure goes well with Curry."
"You're right." Alice says, "And there are also curries that look like this."
Alice shows them a picture of the Decorative Curry, and Ash says, "Wow, Pikachu and Eevee as the curry..."
Pikachu is surprised as he looks at the curry, and Alice says, "That is the Decorative Curry. An improper curry that casts aside taste in favor of looking cute. It's ideal for taking pictures to share."
"You're right. That does look cute." Dawn says. "Galar Region might be the best."
After staying for a while, they decide to continue their journey, and much to their surprise, the Pokemon also gets experience and some of them are leveling up as well. Gloria says, "I guess making curry is also capable of training Pokemon as well."
"Yeah." Ash says as they head to South Lake Miloch, after walking for a circle, they decide to go with the shortcut as they arrive back at the gate of Motostoke.
Ash and his friends are now at Motostoke City, they are amazed at how big the city is. Once they are at the crossroad, they hear Sonia's voice.
"Hey, over here!" Sonia yells as they meet her in front of the Pokemon Center.
"Hey, Sonia. Nice to see you again." Ash says.
"Indeed. Real ace of you to make it through the Wild Area. Seems like your trek ran your Pokemon ragged, though. You should pop into the Pokemon Center."
"We are going to do that right now." Alice says with a smile.
"Good, besides, there's something in there I bet you'll get a kick out of...if you're a real Trainer and all." As they get inside the Pokemon Center, Sonia takes them to a machine.
"Oh, looks like the Rotomi's free." Sonia says.
"What is a Rotomi and what is that machine?" Dawn asks in confusion. "For some reason, I feel that might be a PC..."
"You are not wrong about that. Rotomi are kind of Rotom information service." Sonia says.
Rotom pops out of Ash's backpack and says, "Indeed. It's a handy machine for Trainers. You can even use one to customize your League Card!"
"League Card?" Ash asks in confusion. "What is that?"
Sonia says, "Why don't you try playing around with your League Card a bit? Here's a sample for you." She gives Ash and the others the League Card that has Leon on it. Serena says, "Wow...this is Leon's League Card."
"Yeah." And it is very fashionable...and there are texts behind the card as well." Alice says.
"Indeed. You can make your own with the machine, why don't you give it a try?" Sonia asks.
Ash looks into the Machine with Rotom's help, he makes a League Card. Then the other 5 girls and two boys are also doing the same.
"Now that it is finished, how about we go sightseeing before the night comes?" Lillie asks.
"Motostoke sure is big, right? Not to worry! Sonia is here to show you around a bit." Sonia says with a smile. Everyone just looks at her with an 'are you serious' face, then she says, "The opening ceremony, huh...I get a bit worked up when I think how exciting and moving it was to actually stand on a stadium's pitch for the first time."
Once they get outside, Sonia takes them to the main street. She says, "By the way, the ceremony is being held at Motostoke Stadium at night."
"But where is the stadium?" Alice asks.
"Oh, just use that lift over there to get to the stadium, okay?" Sonia says. "Well, laters! I am going to swing by the shops while I am here, but don't forget to register at the stadium 'K?"
As Sonia leaves, the group decides to check out the shops, but they didn't go in since Gloria wants to get registered as soon as possible, much to the others' frustration.
After getting to the lift, they hear a sound and they turn around, seeing Leon and Charizard in front of them.
"I'd surely never make it to the stadium without you to show me the way, partner. Even with a huge old thing like this bang in the middle of the city, I still get lost." He turns to Ash and the rest, he says, "All right, you guys?"
"Good to see you again, Leon." Gloria says. "Are you going to prepare for the opening ceremony since you're the Champion?"
"Of course." Leon says. "One look tells me that you've become a Trainer worthy of that endorsement I gave you, Gloria. And Ash of course. And I suggest that Sonia told you that you can take that lift up to the city's upper level if you're headed for the stadium next."
"We are going to do that actually." Serena says.
After that, they try to ride on the lift, and they are surprised that the lift swiftly moves up and now they are in the upper part of the city.
And I'll end the chapter here, since Ash and the group are finally at Motostoke and they learn a lot of new mechanics about the game Sword and Shield. I put everything inside so that I can try to write their reactions to those things. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be Team Yell and the Opening Ceremony.
