Chapter 5 Ambush and Flashbacks
As the commotion appears in the hall, Jaern is just staring at the six people in front of them.
Jaern: And who might you be?
Infernal Cultist: We're cultists. And we're here to kill you.
Emily: They are the members of the Abyssal Cults and the Infernal Cults...
Lillie: Abyssal and Infernal?
Damian: W-what? No! You can't! In fact, you won't even get a chance to battle him! I'll stop you right now!
Abyssal Cultist: (Laughs) Kid...have you been watching too many superhero movies? We're cultists. We have strong Pokemon and actual weaponry. We've only come here to eliminate the Augur. Step aside, and we won't kill you too.
Damian: No, I won't back down! This is my chance to prove myself!
Ash: Damian, are you going for a suicide wish? You can't fight this alone. We'll battle as well.
Infernal Cultist: Alright, then, kids. Just don't say we didn't warn you.
Ash sends out Pikachu and Eevee to battle, and the crowd is shocked to see Ash having a Delta Pokemon.
Abyssal Cultist: A Delta Pokemon, so this child must be with the Perfection...Then beating their member can make our cult grow.
Ash: (Shocks) Wait, I am not from the Perfection Cult.
Emily: It is no use. Right now we should fight them or dead. Go! Gengar!
Lillie sends out Snowy while Gladion sends out Lycanroc. The Abyssal Cultists send out a Wingull, a Basculin, and a Mareanie while the Infernal Cultists send out Slugma, Numel, and Litleo.
Ash: Pikachu, let's test out our new moves! Aerial Ace!
Pikachu uses the fast moves to defeat the Wingull, then Eevee also defeats the Marine with the Shadow Ball and the Swift. As for Lillie, she tells Snowy to use Blizzard, which defeats the Basculin. Gladion and Emily are working together as Gengar uses Night Daze, much to their shock.
Gladion: Wait, that is not a Gengar...
Emily: (Smirks at Gladion.) It is a Zoroark of course. My, you are a smart one.
Gladion blushes and nods, then he defeats the Litleo with the Stone Edge. Then Damien also defeats the Slugma with the Bulbasaur.
Abyssal Cultist: Childish impotence. You are nothing.
Infernal Cultist: No matter. We'll take you down with the Augur.
Jaern: No, you won't. (Steps in front of the six cultists) Trying to kill me is one thing, but threatening innocent children? That's one strike too many. I am sending all of you to Helios City for your trial...although after all that, I don't see a bright future for you. Vinculorum mortae!
Jaren glows and then the cultists are now gone, much to everyone's surprise.
Damian: Did you just kill them?
Jaern: (Smiles at them) Of course not. I've just taken them to Helios City. Sorry for letting you fight my battles, but I was curious to see how you would do. Don't worry, if you lost, I wouldn't have let you get hurt. I'm very impressed. You five are talented and responsible. If you ever pass through Helios City, why not stop by? I'd love to see the five of you again. For now, though, I should return. I have a trial to attend to. (Turns to the crowd) Thank you for hosting me. You have a very lovely town.
After Augur leaves, Damien's father rushes to Damian with a shocked face.
Damian's father: Did the Augur just give you a compliment?
Damian: I think so.
Damian's father: I think your foster mother is going to have trouble making you stay if that's the case. Damian, this is your chance to go on an adventure! You got an invitation from the Augur himself!
Damian: Yeah...I guess you are right. In that case, I need to get going as soon as possible. All my friends have already arrived at Midna Town and are training at the Trainer's School! (Turns to Ash) Hey! Ash! Why don't we race there? Midna Town is just on the other side of the cave we went to earlier today. We can learn how to battle and everything there! See you then!
After that, Damian rushes off, and Ash can only sigh.
Ash: He is really energetic.
Lillie: I guess so. But still, I don't see what the problem is with the Augur...he is nice...
Emily: The first Augur had given me a book of spells before, and I knew what the words that the Augur said means. It means Bonds of death. It is a spell that kills people.
The three of them look at one another, as they don't know that Emily has already researched this much.
Gladion: Are you sure?
Emily: I am sure. But we can worry about it later, right now we should go check out Mira Town.
After that, the four of them leave the town and they go to Route 1 after the Telnor Cave.
(Flashback after three weeks of the betrayal)
Three weeks after Ash Ketchum is presumed dead, Gary has rushed back to the Kanto Region and he storms into the Lab, he is grabbing Professor Oak's collar.
Gary: You did what? How could you do this to him? You tried to force him to stop being a trainer? Even he has saved us all?
Professor Oak: (Just want this to get over) Gary, please calm down.
Gary: Calm down? You want me to CALM DOWN?
Gary slams him to the wall, causing him to fall on the floor in pain.
Gary: Maybe this is why Ash wants to commit suicide! You and the others break his heart! You are the real murderers!
Professor Oak: (Getting back up from the floor) There is no way to talk to your grandfather like that!
Gary: No, old man. You are not my grandfather, you are an evil person disguising as my grandfather. You killed my best friend and his mother with your words. And there is no turning back! Maybe that is why Dad has left me.
This causes Oak to frown, before he can retort, Gary is about to leave the lab.
Gary: The only thing I am thankful for you is that I am now a Professor. I wonder what the Pokemon League Association has to hear about this.
Professor Oak widens his eyes in shock, he raises his grandson to be the Professor, but he never thought that he will use it to turn against him.
The other traitors are doing their lives really well, except for the two girls. After Ash is declared dead, Serena manages to get back to her senses and she is horrified about what she has done to Ash. Dawn is also with Serena, as the two of them become friends. They think that Ash commits suicide because of how they say towards him and they are now regretting it. They, along with the Pokemon they get from Ash, Infernape, Krookodile, Oshawott, and Gible, are in front of the grave of Ash.
Serena: Why did I have to say those words? Ash, I am sorry...you are not holding me back. If possible, I am the one that holds you back...please...I am sorry...
Dawn: Serena...
Dawn doesn't hurt Ash as much as Serena does, but she is also guilty for doing that to Ash.
Serena: (Sobs) Please...come back to me...
?: Do you regret your actions?
Behind them, a group of people is approaching them. Much to their surprise.
Serena: Who...are you?
Red:We are the Timeless. My name is Red. Let's say that I am Ash Ketchum from a different world.
This causes them to be surprised, but Serena frowns as he is not Ash.
Red: The Ash you knew is still alive.
Girls: What?
?: It is true. Ash is not dead. He was kidnapped. We needed your help as well if you want him to be safe.
The one who talks is a man who is wearing a suit of armor and a king's crown, Serena and Dawn don't know who he is.
Dawn: Are you serious? Why should we believe you?
Cynthia: They are our allies, so you can trust them.

Another person comes in front of them, and Serena recognizes the man so well. It is her own father: Arata Yvonne.

Arata just nods and frowns, Serena just rushes to hug him.
