Chapter 10 Suntouched Gym Battle
In the Pokemon Center, Ash and Nora are ready to take part in the first gym, but just as they are about to leave, they see a green-haired person with a cap standing in front of the counter where Nurse Joy was at. Ash immediately recognizes the man.
Ash: N? Is that you?
The said person hears the voice and he gasps in surprise.
N: (Thinks) It can't be... (Faces Ash) Ash? Is that you?
Ash: Wow, it really is you, N.
The two of them shake hands, then Ash introduces the group to him.
Ash: By the way, N, what are you doing here?
N: Well, before I answer that, do you know about the Timeless?
Gladion: We have heard Emily and Nora mentioned this term, but we are still clueless about it.
Emily: The Timeless is a secret group where members are chosen from the Legendary.
N: In fact, you guys are also members since you all are chosen by the Legendaries. Especially you, Ash. Your parents are members of the Timeless.
Ash widens his eyes in surprise, as he doesn't know that his parents are also chosen from Legendary Pokemon.
Nora: Wait, you know our parents?
N: Yes. Adam and Delia are some of the strongest members in the Timeless, but they are missing and we are searching for them all over the world.

Ash looks into Lillie's eyes and softens his gaze, knowing he must have scared her.
Ash: I am sorry for making you worried, Lillie. (Turns to N) Which Legendary choose that heartless...bitch...
N: (A little scared of Ash's expression) Um...Diancie?
Nora: Who is Serena? And why is brother really angry?
Arceus comes out in her human form since she knows it is time to explain the truth to them.
Arceus: I should explain about this. You see, Serena is Ash's crush.
Everyone widens his eyes and Lillie starts to frown that Ash likes someone else.
Arceus: (Frowns) When traveling in Kalos, the two of them are inseparable, and she even kisses him before their departure... But then in the betrayal, she also betrays Ash, which breaks his heart. According to her, the kiss is a breakup kiss and Serena thinks him a failure that holds her back.

Ash is surprised that Lillie really cares for him. He starts to think that maybe Arceus is right, Serena is not his love, but Lillie is.
Ash: It is fine, Lillie. It is in the past.
N: Ash, so what are you going to do with them?
Ash: If you go back, tell them that I forgive Dawn and Bonnie, but not for Serena. I don't care if she is chosen or not, she broke my heart and there is no way to repair it.
N: (Nods and sighs) Okay, I will tell them about it."
Gladion: But N, what are you doing here?"
N: Oh, you see, I am going to retire from the Timeless since the Legendary that chose me is going to have another new partner.
Ash: (Breaks the hug and is surprised) What? Really?

Then they pass through the flowers, they see the orange-haired boy talking to a rock.
Orion: (Greets N by waving his hands) Hey, N!
N: Hello, Orion. How is your friend?
Orion: Great. We are getting along quite well. So who are they behind you?
N: Oh, this is Ash Ketchum and Nora Ketchum, then Lillie Aether and Gladion Aether. And this is Emily Eve. Ash and Nora are going to challenge you for the badge.
Orion: Challengers, huh? My name's Orion. I'm the leader of the Suntouched City Gym. I am pretty good with the Fire- Types and all my Pokemon work together under the light of the sun! That was the hint, by the way.
Nora: A hint you say? I'll keep that in mind. Brother, why don't you go first?
Ash: Sure.
Orion: All right, let's get started! (Turns to the stone) Wish me luck. With you by my side, I'm sure to win!
Lillie: So what is that Rock by the way?
Orion: The rock, everyone wants to know about the rock. It gets lonely, being a Gym leader, so I have to make friends where I can. Everyone in the city mocks me for it, but it's alive! I just know it!
N: I know, I was the one that gives you the rock.
Orion: But whatever, that's not important right now. You want a battle, right? Let's get started!
Ash and Orion then walk towards the battlefield, as they are facing each other.
Referee: The Match between the Gym Leader Orion and the challenger Ash Ketchum is about to begin. Each trainer will be using 4 Pokemon, while the Challenger can switch his Pokemon. Now let the battle begin.
Orion: You won't stand a chance with this, go! Vulpix!
The Kantonian Vulpix appears on the stage, and its ability Drought causes the sun to shine really bright.
Emily: What? It is so bright...
Lillie: The ability is Drought I see...
Ash: Muk, here is our first battle. (Sends out the Delta Muk)
Orion: A Delta Pokemon? Did you experiment with your Pokemon?
Ash: (Groans) Why does everyone thinks that I am like a cultist or what? No, I didn't I was blessed this Pokemon by a friend of mine.
Orion: Okay...then Vulpix, Flamethrower!
Ash: Minimize the damage!"
Muk then shrinks into the ground with the move, and Orion is surprised.
Orion: What, where did it go?
Ash: Now, Bulldoze!
Muk appears behind him as it jumps into the air, but Orion already sees it.
Orion: No you won't! Hypnosis!
Ash widens his eyes as Muk falls asleep before he can use any attack.
Ash: (Takes out a Pokeball) Return! (Switches Pokeball) I need your help, Snivy!
As the Pokemon appears, Orion notices that the second one is also a Delta Pokemon.
Orion: A Delta Snivy won't stop me, Hypnosis again!
Ash: Quick, Water Pulse on the air!
Orion is confused at what Ash is doing, but he gasps as the water attack goes straight down to the Pokemon and now he is fully awake.
Orion: No way...
Lillie: Did he just use the Water to neutralize the damage?
Nora: That is really awesome.
Orion: Energy Ball!
Vulpix shoots out a Grass type move at Snivy, but Ash already has it planned.
Ash: Block it and then use Aqua Jet!
Snivy starts to charge, it spins around to dodge the attack, and then it hits the Pokemon, causing it to faint.
Referee: Vulpix is unable to battle!
Ash: (Wiping his sweat) That is one down...
Orion: Here goes nothing, Deerling!
Orion's second Pokemon is Deerling, and Orion commands it to use Double Kick. As the Deer Pokemon kicks, Snivy is injured.
Ash: (Yells) Hang in there, Snivy!
Orion: Now it is our chance! Solar Beam!
Larvesta opens its mouth, with the harsh sunlight, it defeats Snivy with the beam from its mouth.
Referee: Snivy is unable to battle!
Gladion: Now that is a draw...
Lillie: (Cheers) Ash! You can do it!
Ash: Return, Snivy.(Recalls Snivy and turns to Pikachu) Do you want to battle?
Pikachu nods and jumps into the field, making it Ash's third Pokemon to battle.
Orion: A flying Type, huh? Then use Facade!
Pikachu is hit by the attack, and Deerling also goes with Synthesis to recover itself.
Nora: Oh no...it has Synthesis...
Ash: Dodge it and then take Deerling to a fly!
Orion gasps as Pikachu not only dodges the attack, he also carries Deerling into the skies.
Orion: (Panicked) Shake it off, Deerling! Solar Beam!"
Ash: Now drop it to the ground with the Sky Drop!"
Pikachu drops before the deer starts to fire the energy, and Deerling crashes into the ground badly and it faints.
Referee: Deerling is unable to battle!
Orion: I underestimated you, Ash. But time for my Ivysaur!
As the Pokemon comes out, the match continues
Orion: Give him a super-effective Sludge Bomb!"
Ash: Dodge it, Pikachu, then use Air Slash!
As the Air Slash hits the Pokemon, Ivysaur is taking a lot of damage.
Emily: It is super effective.
Orion: Not so fast, Synthesis!
Then the Pokemon is healed up with the help of sunlight, much to Ash's surprise.
Orion: Then use Sleep Powder.
Ash: (Groans) Again with the sleep?
Pikachu now drops into the group falling asleep, as Ash doesn't like what is going to happen.
Orion: Now finish it off with the Solar Beam!
With the sun still shines, the attack becomes more powerful and it defeats Pikachu.
Referee: Pikachu is unable to battle!"
Lillie: Poor Pikachu...
N: Even though Orion is a new Gym Leader, his skills are not to be underestimated...
Ash: (Places Pikachu besides Eevee) Eevee, take care of Pikachu, will you?
Eevee nods, then Ash sends out the Muk again.
Orion: You do know that Ivysaur is a Grass Type, why sending out a Ground Type?
Ash: Type advantages aren't everything.
Orion: Well, then. Solar Beam again!
Ash: Dodge it with Dig!
Muk goes underground and then gives him a sneak attack.
Orion: Don't worry, Synthesis!
Ash is now panicking as Ivysaur continues to heal itself once more.
Ash: (Thinks) If I attacked him, it will use Synthesis to recover...what should I do...
But then Muk coughs out something, and then a dead body of a Magby appears in his mouth.
Ash: (Confused) What are you doing? Muk?
The ones in the stands are a little uncomfortable at the Magby in the Muk's body.
Lillie: Isn't that the Magby he ate for breakfast?
Emily: Is he going to spit it out? Yuck...
Nora: Wait... Muk's ability...
Then when Muk fires an Earthquake, the ground starts to have fire and it burns the Ivysaur.
Orion: (Surprised) What happened?
Nora: (Excited) Of course...the ability is Regurgitation! After the attack, since he has a Magby in his mouth, so he can give an additional Fire Type Attack!
Ash: Awesome... Now, use Flamethrower!
Then the attack hits the Pokemon, and then Ivysaur gets a lot of damage.
Orion: Hang in there, Ivysaur! Solar Beam!
Ash: (Yells) Flamethrower again!
The two attacks collide until it creates an explosion. Once the dust is gone, both Pokemon are unable to battle.
Emily: Wow, now they both have one Pokemon each!
Gladion: Yeah...
Orion: (Takes out the Pokeball) My final Pokemon, Charmeleon! Come on out!
Ash: Donphan! I choose you!
The final Pokemon Ash is using is Donphan, and Ash already has it use Rollout to hit the Pokemon.
Orion: Use Dragon Breath!
Charmeleon breathes out the Dragon attack as Donphan is paralyzed.
Ash: Damn it... Then Stone Edge!
Donphan fires some stones and it hits Charmeleon, causing him to kneel and Orion's shock.
Ash takes out the Z Ring and puts the Rockium Z on it.
Ash: Let's go! Donphan!
Ash starts to do some poses and so does Donphan, Emily and Nora are confused.
Emily: What is he doing?
Lillie: (Sweatdrops) That is a Z move, it is something that only appears in Alola.
Ash: Let's show our full power! Continental Crush!
The group is surprised to see Donphan jumps into the air and creates a giant boulder that can block the sun.
Orion: What the...
Then the giant boulder crashes into Charmeleon, causing him to faint.
Referee: Charmeleon is unable to battle, Donphan is the winner, which means Ash Ketchum is the winner!
Ash: I win!
Ash cheers with Donphan rolling and tackles him to the ground, and Ash is just laughing.
Nora: Wow...Z moves sure are awesome...
Gladion: I know.
Orion: (Recalls Charmeleon) I lost...but what a great battle that was! (Walks towards Ash) Well, that wasn't bad at all! What a great battle!
Ash: (Smiles) Thanks, you are really strong as the first Gym Leader I've faced in Torren.
Orion: (Takes out the Gym Badge and gives Ash) Here you are! Congratulations! This is the Thermal Badge, you earned it.
Ash takes the badge and thanks to him, and then he puts it into his badge case.
Orion: Your next Gym will be in Vipik City, to the South of here. The leader, Xavier, has a forest theme, and he specializes in Bug and Poison types! Good luck, challenger! (Turns to Nora) So you're next, right?
Nora: You bet.
Then Nora walks to the battlefield, as she is going to challenge Orion in the Gym battle.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, Ash wins his first Gym Badge and also learns that Dawn, Serena, and Bonnie join in the Timeless. I hope you like this chapter.
