Chapter 19 A Talent for Imitation

Ash and Serena are now walking towards a studio with Professor Cerise's request. And Serena says. "You know, I can't wait for the film shoot!"

"And the director is the world-famous Kublock!" Ash says, "It's a story about the Gardevoir twins, right?"

"That's right. The elder sister is played by a real Gardevoir, while the other one is apparently played by a transformed Ditto!" Serena says.

Once Ash and Serena arrive at the studio, Ash yells, "Is anyone here?"

The manager comes and she says, "Welcome. Professor Cerise told me about you two. It is an honor to have the two of you here to our studio."

"That is nice of you." Serena says, "Thank you for having us."

Just then, they hear a voice, and it seems to be someone that they are familiar with. "What's the meaning of talking to you? I, a star actress, am saying I'll be in your movie! Get me the director, now!"

"We're in the middle of filming..." The staff is getting a headache and they see Meowth trying to get inside. "Hey! Where are you going?"

"I just want to meet Gardevoir!" Meowth says.

"Oh, for crying out loud..." The staff pushes Team Rocket away and he says, "It's obvious that you can't!"

Ash sighs, "Sounds like Team Rocket is trying to get into the place..."

"Yeah, it is a good thing that they were stopped." Serena says. "But I don't think they will give up..."

"I am thinking the same thing as well." Ash says, then the manager tells them that they are starting to film.

"Ready...Action!" Kublock yells, and the filming of the next scene gets underway.

The older Gardevoir twin arrives to save her younger sibling from a pair of Shiftry. As the twin sisters hold hands, Ditto is suddenly stunned and reverts to its pink gelatinous form.

"Cut! This isn't it!" Kublock yells.

The staff is sighing as they are going to film the scene again. Serena scans Ditto and it says, "Ditto, the Transform Pokémon. A Normal-type. Altering every cell in its body, Ditto can transform into a perfect copy of many different Pokémon."

"Perfect...it says?" Ash asks.

"Ditto has been slipping up a lot lately." The manager says.

"This isn't it!" Kublock says. "This isn't what I'm looking for! If you really can't turn this into it, then...Go...Do that!"

Ditto is now crying as it starts to run away, and the Manager tries to chase after it.

After searching for a while, they haven't found Ditto and the manager frowns, "Our Ditto used to be famous for transforming so accurately that it was more real than the real Pokemon."

Ash says, "Well, I get why it'd want to run. Director Kublock was pretty intense..."

"Yeah." The manager says. "But he's only that strict because he's taken Ditto under his wing. Director Kublock was the one who decided to hire a no-name Ditto in the first place.

Ash says, "I see."

"This will be Ditto's big break!" The manager says. "We have to get it back, and fast!"

"Um...we can help if you want." Serena says.

"Yeah." Ash adds.

"That will be nice, thank you." The manager says.

"Ditto! Where are you?" Ash yells.

"If you hear us, please come out!" Serena yells.

The two of them are searching for the missing Ditto on the streets, Serena sighs, "I can't believe we still haven't found any trace of it..."

"Where could it have gone?" Ash says.

Just then, they hear a voice, "You two look down."

As they see the person in front of them, Ash uses Aura to Serena, "Do you think Team Rocket was the one that took him?"

"It could be, but first, we should see what they want this time." Serena uses the Aura back.

"You should cheer yourselves up by watching our magic show!" Jessie says.

"We're gonna do a super magic trick; teleporting your Pokemon." Meowth adds.

Pikachu is instantly curious and leaps forward to participate. Ash says, "You want to try, Pikachu?"

"All right...you go in this box, little Pikachu." James put Pikachu in the blue box, and Jessie says, "There are no tricks or trickery here. Now one, two, three!"

As Pikachu comes out of the red box, Serena says, "Amazing, how did they do that?"

But in truth, they already know that it is one of Team Rocket's tricks. And Raboot, who doesn't seem interested in this, also notices that Pikachu is fake.

"Here is your Pikachu back." Jessie tries to hand over the Ditto, Ash says, "Hang on...is this really my Pikachu?"

Serena decides to act along with him, "It's gotta be, yeah?"

"No, that's definitely not my Pikachu." Ash says. "Where is my Pikachu?"

And just as they thought, Team Rocket shows themselves.

"Prepare for trouble, you're dumb but awake!" And make it a double-twerp shake and quake!"

"To protect the world from devastation." "To unite all people within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" "To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!" "James!" "Team Rocket blasts off with the speed of light!" " Surrender now, or prepare for a magical fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!" "Wobbuffet!"

Just then, the Pikachu also changes back into Ditto, Ash says, "Team Rocket!"

"Hey, that Ditto..." Serena says.

"Great, isn't it? It's our highly promising new member!" Jessie says.

"And Pikachu is also ours!" James says.

Ash says, "Raboot, I know you might not want to listen to me, but please, I want to save Pikachu."

Raboot sighs as it steps forward, Jessie says, "Ditto, transform into a Salamence!"

As it is about to do the transform, the manager comes and yells, "Ditto! There you are!"

"Hey! I don't care if you're a manager or whatever...stay out of our way!" Jessie says.

"That's my line! That Ditto is an actress with a promising future!" The manager says. "Let's go home, Dito. Director Kublock is waiting for you as well. He said only you can play that part. If you're not there, we won't get anywhere!"

Ditto is left paralyzed in fear at the thought of returning to set. James asks, "It didn't get fired?"

Raboot uses the opportunity to kick Pikachu's capsule out of James's hands, returning him to Ash.

"Oh no! They got Pikachu back." Meowth says.

"Let's retreat!" Jessie says as she grabs Ditto as she and her teammates flee to the safety of their hidden base.

When evening comes, Serena says, "So Team Rocket kidnapped Ditto and forced it to follow their orders..."

"And now they're demanding a ransom...what a bunch of monsters..." Ash says.

"Ditto...why?" The manager asks with a frown as she is holding the ransom money.

Just as they stop, they hear Meowth's voice, "I see you brought the money, as ordered..."

Ash yells, "Team Rocket, where are you?" Pikachu is also sparkling electricity from its cheeks.

"We're right here." They see them walking out from a big tree, with Ditto holding captive in a glass capsule.

"Ditto!" The manager yells.

"Stop, save the touching reunion for later." Jessie says. "If you want Ditto back, then hand over the money!"

"That's low! Team Rocket!" Serena yells, and they just laugh out loud.

"Who...do you think you're dealing with?" James says.

"A ruthless army of villains who'll gladly trample love and friendship for our goals..." Jessie adds.

"That's us, Team Rocket!" Meowth says.

"Got it? Then fork over the money!" James says.

"Starting today, we'll be living like royalty!" Jessie says.

"We'll be swimming in money!" Meowth says.

"They're so infuriating..." Ash says with anger and so does Serena. "Yeah, I really want to blast them off right here right now."

"You twerps have nothing to do with this. So get lost!" Jessie says, but Ash and Serena refuse to listen.

"Pikachu, we're getting Ditto back." Ash says.

"You too, Raboot." Serena says. "Hit them with Em-"

But Raboot is going for the not listening to his trainers' mode as it goes for the Ember, Jessie says, "Wobbuffet, if you please!"

Wobbuffet uses Mirror Coat to block the attack. Jessie says, "That didn't do a thing!"

Meowth says, "That barely even tickled!"

"If you wanna beat us, you'd at least need to hit us with Thunderbolt!" James says.

Ash says, "I see...Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu fires the attack at Team Rocket, causing them to fly into the sky.

"We're blasting off again!" Team Rocket yells as they disappear out of their sight once more.

Raboot promptly frees Ditto from its capsule with a kick. Ash grabs Ditto and says, "It's all right now."

"Oh Ditto!" The Manager is happy to be with the manager, but it looks into the sky, seemingly missing Team Rocket.

Ash says, "I guess they really did teach some things to Ditto, don't you think?"

"I also saw its memories." Serena says. "It is nice to see them acting nice at once...though that was a bad act if you ask me."

"I agree..." Ash says.

Back in the studios, the Manager says, "It's time to get started!"

"This isn't it!" Kublock yells and it scares Ditto again. Kublock is actually yelling at one of the studio hands. "No, no, no. That's not enough."

Recalling Jessie's advice, Ditto slaps its face for motivation and Transforms into a Gardevoir.

"Ready? Action!" Kublock yells. Filming for Kublock's latest blockbuster resumes, with Ditto and Gardevoir reshooting the scene from earlier. The older Gardevoir twin defeats the two Shiftry before the sisters are reunited.

"Cut!" Kublock proudly declares, and he says, "Yes, this is right! This is the footage I wanted!"

Ditto is happy at the mention, and Ash and Serena leave the studios after seeing how Ditto overcome its nervousness.

"We should expect Ditto to have great movies in the future, don't you think?" Ash asks Serena, who agrees. "Yeah. That was really awesome for Ditto."

Just then, they see a Ditto just moving from the grass, and Ash says, "By the way, maybe we should have a Ditto in our team as well."

"I agree." Serena says as they take the Pokeball, capturing the wild Ditto on the road.

After getting back to the lab, Ditto has been trying to imitate the other Pokemon in the lab, like Dragonite, but the Dragonite doesn't mind as it just hugs the Pokemon, and the Pokemon hugs back. As for Gengar, it just does prank on Machamp, causing it to get angry and delivers a Shadow Punch, knocking it back to normal.

"Looks like Ditto is having a lot of friends as well." Ash says.

"Yeah. Though I wonder how we will train him." Serena says, after seeing how Ditto transforms into Pangoro and takes the sunglasses as Serena's is chasing after him.

"Should we go stop them?" Ash asks, after seeing how their Pokemon are trying to chase after Ditto for the mess.

"We should, we have to make them get along." Serena says as they chase after the Pokemon, who are chasing after Ditto.

Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, I also have Ash and Serena capture their own Ditto, since I will like to see how it interacts with the other Pokemon. In the next chapter, Chloe will be appearing again and I know that a lot of you are asking me about how Chloe will answer Ash's question in Chapter 11. I can only tell you that be patient. Chloe will give a reply in the future chapters. So please stop annoying me.
