Chapter 1: A New Beginning
Inside a room in Pallet Town, a girl is combing her black hair and she puts on a blue jacket over her black shirt. She also grabs her backpack and her hat, with the Pikachu jumping onto her shoulder.
"Pikachu, are you excited to go to the Unova Region?" The girl asks, and Pikachu nods in agreement. Just then, the door opens and a woman walks into the room. "Ash, Professor Oak has arrived to pick us up."
"Okay, Mom." The girl named Ash says, and the woman, who is Ash's mother Delia, adjusts her hat and says, "You have combed your hair well, you don't want the hat to mess it up."
"Yes. Mom." Ash says as they go downstairs and outside the house, only to find the Professor waiting for them with a car. Seeing the Professor's Pinap Berry shirt, Ash asks, "What is with your clothing?"
Professor Oak laughs, "We are going on a vacation to Unova after all."
"But what about your work in Unova?" Delia asks.
"Don't worry. I have quite a bit of free time when I'm not attending those seminars." Professor Oak says.
"That's great, Come on! Mom!" Ash says as they all get into the car as they head towards the Unova Region.
After they get on the plane heading to Nuvema Town, Ash is reading a brochure on the Unova region. Professor Oak says, "Ash, Unova has a variety of Pokemon, it is said that there are 156 Pokemon found in the Unova Region."
"That sure is a lot of them." Ash says with awe. "I can't wait to meet any one of them."
Emerging from the clouds, the plane finally arrives at the Unova region. It makes a gradual turn, slowly descends into the sea, and docks near a pier.
"We're here in the Unova Region, let's check out this place." Ash says.
Pikachu nods, but he suddenly detects something, stops, and turns to face the sea. He runs forward with his attention now focused on the dark spiraling cloud looming overhead.
"Pikachu? What's wrong?" Ash asks in confusion, but her worries are gone as she spots an Alomomola leaping out of the water. Ash reaches the end of the pier and searches for the Alomomola, but it seems to have disappeared.
"Aw man..." Ash mutters, but she notices the same ominous black cloud that Pikachu had spotted, surging with erratic bolts of electricity and moving even closer.
The swirling black cloud draws even closer, threatening to engulf the sky in darkness. And it strikes a large bolt of blue lightning towards Pikachu, and Ash is worried.
"Pikachu?" Ash asks in surprise. She looks up at the blue core and notices it shining even brighter than before, radiating both light and electricity. Pikachu aims some electricity at the central blue core, however, the electricity dissipates away entirely. With glowing red eyes, Ash can see a Pokemon inside, summoning forth more lightning, causing the core to glow an exceedingly intense blue.
"What are you going to do with my Pikachu?" Ash yells, but then the blue lightning is striking her, Ash feels pain from the strike, but she feels that something inside her snapped, and then the Pokemon disappears.
Immediately, the dark clouds clear to make way for the bright blue sky above, and electronic equipment in the area mysteriously regains power. Ash wakes up to find Pikachu exhausted from the ordeal.
"Ash!" Delia and Professor Oak rush towards them, Delia asks, "Are you okay?"
Ash says, "I'm fine, what about you, Pikachu?" Just then, she can hear Pikachu saying, "I'm okay."
"Wait...Pikachu...did you just talk human?" Ash asks, and Professor Oak asks, "Ash? What are you talking about?"
"Mom! Professor Oak! I thought I hear Pikachu talking to me." Ash says, "Can't you hear it?"
The two adults are confused, and Professor Oak says, "Did that Thunderstorm did something to Ash?"
Delia knows what Ash is talking about and she just keeps silent. She says, "What happened, Ash? Can you tell us about it?'"
"Well...I saw a Pokemon's shadow from within the clouds...it strikes both me and Pikachu before leaving..." Ash says.
"A Pokemon you say?" Just then, a female Professor arrives and she says, "Sorry that I'm late."
"Hello to you, Professor Juniper." Professor Oak says as they shake hands. "Ash, Delia. This is Aurelia Juniper, she is a very important Pokemon Researcher in Unova."
"It is nice to meet you." Ash bows at Professor Juniper, and she says, "My, what a nice girl. So your name is Ash, it is nice to meet you."
Then Professor Juniper drives the group back to her laboratory in a red SUV. Juniper says, "So you said that Pikachu has been struck with the lightning, then I suggest that maybe we should give it a check-up at my lab."
"Okay." Ash nods. "I want to ask, is my Pikachu that rare in the Unova Region?"
"Well, it is rare, but that doesn't mean we can't find one in the Unova Region after all." Juniper says.
The SUV makes a gradual turn to the right near a lake, and Ash watches a flock of Swanna fly across the water.
Eventually, the group arrives in Nuvema Town, and soon Professor Juniper's lab. Over there, Pikachu's condition is being monitored, and Juniper admits the numerical data doesn't show any discrepancies, but further tests will are required.
"While Pikachu is doing some tests, I have a quest for you, Ash." Professor Juniper says. "There are two people that are going to become trainers. I want you to help me give the Starter Pokemon to them."
"Okay. I'll help." Ash says, and Juniper says, "Well, since there are only two people, which means that one of the Starter will be left out, you can take the last Starter if you want."
"Okay." Ash says, excited to have a new Pokemon with her already.
After taking the Pokeballs, she goes to the lobby of the lab and she finds a black-haired boy. The boy says, "I haven't seen you around here before. Are you also a new trainer?"
"No, I was from Kanto and I came here for a vacation. Are you one of the new trainers?"
"Yes. My name is Cheren. I heard from Professor Juniper. We can have a Pokémon? … … What's keeping Bianca?"
Just then, a girl rushes into the lab and she says, "Am I a little late again? So-oooo-orry!"
"Bianca… I've known for ten years that you have no sense of time, but…seriously… Today's the day we can get a Pokémon from Professor Juniper!"' Cheren sighs.
"I know. Sorry, Cheren. And who might you be?" Bianca asks Ash, who says, "I am Ash Ketchum, I just came from the Unova Region."
"Oh, it is nice to meet you, Ash." Bianca says. "So, where are the Pokémon?"
"They are here." Ash says as he sends out the three starters, first starting with the Fire-type Tepig followed by the Water-type Oshawott and the Grass-type Snivy. Cheren says, "Ash, will you be picking the Starter Pokemon as well?"
"I will only do it after you two, since I am not a beginner, I have been traveling around the other regions." Ash says.
"OK, I'll take this Pokémon! Cheren, that one's yours!" Bianca picks up the Tepig and shoves the Snivy to Cheren.
"Hey, how come you get to pick out my Pokémon? Oh, never mind. I wanted this one from the start, anyway." Cheren sighs as he picks Snivy.
Oshawott is extremely shocked that he isn't taken, and Ash laughs a little, "Oshawott, then you'll be my Pokemon."
Oshawott is now happy that he isn't the one being left out. Bianca says, "Everyone has chosen a Pokémon! ...So that's that! Hey, I know! Let's have a Pokémon battle!"
"Honestly, Bianca… Even though they're still weak Pokémon, you shouldn't have Pokémon battles inside a lab." Cheren says.
"Don't be a worrywart! These little ones are weak, like you said. We have to let them battle so they'll get stronger. It's settled, Ash! Get ready for a Pokémon battle!" Bianca says.
"If you want a battle, then I'll give you one." Ash says as he bends down. "Oshawott, this is our first battle."
Oshawott nods as they go outside the lab. Bianca says, "Let's see, use Tackle!"
"Dodge it." Ash says as Oshawott dodges the attack. "Now use Water Gun!" Ash says.
Oshawott has the Type advantage as it uses Water Gun on Tepig, dealing a lot of damage.
"Eek! Ouch! I won't let you get away with that! Use Ember!" Tepig tries to use Ember, but Ash is amazed that it uses the Scalchop to block the attack.
"That is amazing, Oshawott. Now finish it with Tackle." Ash says as the Tackle defeats the Pokemon.
"The Pokémon on both sides did their best!" Bianca says.
"That sure is a good battle. Here! I'll restore your Pokémon for you. Ash's Pokémon needs to be fixed up, too." Cheren says as he uses Potions on the two Pokemon.
"Hey, Cheren! How about you battle, too?" Bianca asks.
"Well, it's not fair if you two are the only ones who get to have fun battling!" Cheren sighs. "It's decided. You'll be my opponent… in our first Pokémon battle!"'
Just then, Pikachu rushes out of the lab, much to Cheren and Bianca's surprise. Ash hugs the Pokemon and says, "Pikachu, are you okay for now?"
Pikachu nods and Cheren says, "I have never seen that Pokemon before..."
"Well, it is an Electric Type Pokemon named Pikachu." Ash says. "He has been my partner ever since I started my journey."
"That's amazing." Bianca says. "Cheren, how about you use Snivy to battle it?"
Cheren sighs, "Again with deciding things that I could have done on my own."
Then they start with the battle as Ash yells, "Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu begins the match with a Quick Attack, which hits Snivy squarely on his body. Snivy quickly recovers on his feet, brimming with determination.
"I've finally become a Trainer… Everything starts from here! Use Tackle!" Cheren says, but Pikachu dodges the attack skillfully. With another leap, he then dodges another Tackle attack from the opposite direction.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Ash says, but much to her surprise, no electricity comes out of it. "What? What happened?"
"Isn't he an Electric Type? How can't it use a Thunderbolt?" Cheren says.
"I don't know. Use Volt Tackle this time." Ash says as he tries the attack again, but it fails once loses momentum and stops in the middle of the field, panting.
"If you are not going to do the next move, then I'll do it, use Leaf Tornado." Cheren says as the attack hits Pikachu. Ash says, "I can still do this, Iron Tail!"
Pikachu's tail hardens into a gleaming slate of metal and slams earthward, knocking Snivy out.
"Ah! So that's a Pokémon battle!" Cheren says. "But is your Pikachu alright? Something is not right about it."
"It really is not right. How come it can't use any Electric attacks? Don't tell me that the Professor overlooked this when giving you a check up..." Ash mutters.
"I made a strange blunder in my first battle, but this feeling I have… ...I'm finally a Trainer." Cheren says. "How about I come with you to Professor Juniper to see what's going on?"
Bianca says, "Oh! Wait! I've gotta go home first." Then she quickly rushes away. Cheren sighs as they head into the lab.
As they are inside, Professor Juniper is giving another analysis to Pikachu. After a while, she says, "It seems like Pikachu has become overloaded and he can't perform Electric attacks."
"How did it happen? Is it because of receiving the massive amount of electrical energy during the black cloud incident?" Ash asks.
At that moment, the lab's electronics start receiving a lot of interference, and the black cloud that was spotted previously at the pier is now moving over Professor Juniper's lab. The equipment Pikachu is hooked up to begins discharging, shocking the Electric Mouse Pokémon. A bolt of lightning suddenly strikes the lightning rod at the top of the lab, and the facility blacks out. Excessive current from the lightning bolt channels to Pikachu through the electronic device, causing the streaks of electricity to discharge from his body.
"What is happening here?" Cheren asks, and Ash says, "I don't know..."
Then she hears a voice, "The princess of ideals...what is your ideal?"
"My ideal?" Ash thinks as she realizes that the Pokemon with the red glowing eyes is communicating to her. She says, "I want to be friends with all Pokemon and become a Pokemon Master."
Professor Juniper and Cheren also notice the black clouds and Juniper says, "Is that...Zekrom?"
"Zekrom?" Cheren asks.
"It is a Legendary Pokemon that protects humans and Pokemon." Juniper says. Within the dark clouds, Zekrom's eyes gleam through the surrounding darkness in bright red, as lightning strikes all around Nuvema Town.
And here is the first chapter. Since all my stories are going to be monthly updates except for some that I will like to focus on, I can add some new stories. This story is a Female version of Ash traveling around the Unova Region. The pairing of the story is going to be Female Ash and N, something that I really want to do before. I hope you like this story and the plot is going to be Pokemon Black and White.
