1 Piece SOUL SONGs

"Do you remember when we first met?" Rayliegh asked his wife as he entered her bar, smiling softly and holding a bouquet of roses.

"During that fight between your captain and mine where we started singing? How could I ever forget?" Shakky asked smiling as she walked over to him and flipped the sign on the door to closed, the lights already down low and some soft music playing.

"It was harder to tell who was more shocked, our captains, the rest of our crews, or the marines…although the marines were more horrified than anything." Rayliegh said with a chuckle as he held the roses out to her and she took them with a quick kiss before putting them in a vase that was already set up and waiting on the counter.

"It was rather funny. Kind of embarrassing when the captains began arguing over who would officiate our marriage and whether I was joining your crew or you joining ours." Shakky chuckled fondly at the memory.

"Mhm. I'm glad things worked out the way they did though." Rayleigh said smiling softly at his wife, recalling how Rocks had been taken down by Garp and Roger after he had gone mad and had tried to keep Shakky away from him despite the two of them having been soul bonded for more than a year already.

Oh sure he had done other, probably a lot more serious, things that had warranted his take down, but keeping his beautiful wife of over a year away from him had been the most heinous thing he had ever done in Rayleigh's mind. Especially when Rayleigh had learned why.

Rocks had wanted Shakky to get an abortion or somehow miscarry the baby and had kept Rayleigh away before he learned of the child. All because he didn't want his First Mate distracted or having other responsibilities. Thankfully even the rest of her crew knew he was going too far and did everything they could to keep Rocks from getting his way and had even had a 'Protect baby Shakky' rotation to keep her busy and away from Rocks as much as possible. Her crew…they had all been formidable pirates, and very much still were, and they had all very much seen Shakky as their big sister and were thrilled when they heard that there would be a baby Shakky around.

"The cabin boys sent us an anniversary present by the way." Rayleigh said and he lifted the two boxes that had been delivered to him by the most careful carrier pigeons he had ever seen.

"That was sweet of them." Shakky said smiling as her husband set the present down on the counter to let her open them. From Buggy there were several Buggy Balls, and two little stuffed dolls of a black panther and a silver lion, something that only members of the Rocks or Rogers pirates from back then would get the meaning of.

"Buggy always was good with his hands." Rayleigh said smiling at the two hand made dolls and he could see the care in every stitch and lining.

"And Shanks always did like sake." Shakky said chuckling and smiling softly as she stared at the bottles of sake the Yonko had sent them, along with multiple pictures of Luffy when he was younger. Shanks had immediately known that Luffy was their grandson after he had heard who his father was during the War of the Best two years ago and had come to ask them about it personally. They had admitted that when their son was born he had been given to Garp to be raised in secret, he had seen what had happened when the world found out about Rogers having a son with a woman who wasn't even a pirate. He could guess how the world would react to Dark King Rayleigh and Shadow Queen Shakky having a child, or a grandchild in the case of Luffy.

"The runts sent us something too, Marco sending us something in place of Edward-chan." Shakky said smiling as she put away the pictures of her grandson as a frankly adorable little kid with the utmost care, before she nodded towards the four large boxes.

"Oh? They still adore their big sis?" Rayleigh asked grinning at his wife who snorted.

Big Mom had sent them a good sized cake, well it was tiny for the woman herself but more than enough for the two normal sized humans, and an offer to live anywhere in Tottoland they wanted tax free. Kaido had sent them some good strong sake, a couple of the artificial devil fruits he thought they might be interested in and an offer to live in Wano worry free. In Edwards place Marco had sent them several dozen apples, an eternal log pose to Zhou and an offer to come live on the ghost island. Shiki had sent them some gold plated knuckle dusters, obviously meant for Shakky, and an invitation to visit him whenever they wanted free of charge. All four of them had given the couple their Den Den Mushi numbers since Kaido and Big Mom accidentally killed their Mushi's over the last year and the other two only just now got their own Mushis. All four of them had also sent Shakky their assurances that if they saw Blackbeard 'Nakama killer' Teach then they'd murder him for killing Edward.

Sure they might be rival yonko pirates now, but at one point all five of them had been Nakama. Family. And no one was allowed to kill one of the remaining Rocks Pirates without going to war with the rest. Shakky was fully on board with that thought as was Rayleigh.

"Yeah they still adore their big sis." Rayleigh said with a chuckle and Shakky smiled with a nod as she began to put away the presents aside from the cake which she and Rayleigh would eat. After they were done with their anniversary tradition at least.

"Sitting with you in a dark room. Warmed by a fireplace, You know there's just something about you. You brighten my day." Rayliegh started singing the same soul song that they had sung so very long ago now as he took her hands and the two started slow dancing in the middle of the bar.

"I got something to run past you, I just hope I say it right. So I take your hand and ask you, Have you made plans for the rest of your life?" Rayleigh asked grinning at her and she smiled widely in return, giving him a quick kiss before they sang in harmony.

"There's one thing I should be killing off and giving up now. And that's worryin' about life! Oh, I'll be fine. If one gray hair shows, I'll be fine. If my waistline grows, I'll be fine. Even if time takes its toll. We'll stay young for the rest of our lives!" The two exchanged another brief kiss before Shakky did her solo lines.

"I've been making plans for children, Since I've been looking in your eyes. I even have names picked out for them. Daughter'd be Rose, Son; it'd be Ryan." And yes they had originally named their son Ryan when he was born but apparently Garp had renamed him Dragon of all things. At least he had told them in advance that he was renaming their son.

"There's one thing I should be killing off and giving up now. And that's worrying about life, Oh, I'll be fine. If one gray hair shows, I'll be fine. If my waistline grows, I'll be fine. Even if time takes its toll. We'll stay young for the rest of our lives!" The two sung in harmony as they rested their foreheads together, still slow dancing in the darkened bar.

"I don't really care about those storm clouds brewing. Oh, as long as you're here by my side. Oh, we'll be young, oh we'll be young. Oh, we'll be young, when we're old." Of course Rayliegh showed his age visibly but he thought the song was ironic as hell given how his wife hadn't seemed to have aged a day in the last forty years.

"Oh, I'll be fine. If my gray hair shows, I'll be fine. If my waistline grows, I'll be fine. Even when time takes its toll!" Rayleigh sang that part alone and with just as much feeling as he had the first time they sang their soul song.

"I'll stay young for the rest of my life. With you, I'll stay young for the rest of my life. With you, We'll stay young for the rest of our life!" The two finished the song in harmony and stayed still, just wrapped in each others arms and foreheads pressed together with soft smiles on their faces.

"I still love you just as much as I did the day we met." Shakky said softly as she stared into her husbands eyes.

"And I you my dear." Rayleigh said with a soft smile of his own before the two met in a gentle loving kiss.

Yes they may have soul bonded well over forty years ago and life may have thrown them some crazy as hell curveballs over their lives…but they were still very much in love after all this time.
