Hurrying off the stage, Julia said happily to Peter, "That was great!"
"I know, I'm so glad we finally got to tap," the boy said.
"We have to change, don't we?" Julia said, though she'd been about to reply to her partner. She smiled at Derek and said, "We're going, we're going," both laughing while the dancer started to. She hurried into her dressing room and looked up at the screen for the next performance, making it just in time to watch Ringo performing Radio Ga Ga with Paul and the O'Dells. She did her best to watch it and change into a thirties era ballroom gown for her next dance with Peter before she heard him knocking on the door. "Hello Fred," she said as soon as he was inside.
"Hello Ginger," Peter said. They turned to look up at the screen, smiling when the same three were starting the next song. He was about to ask her what song it was when his partner was speaking rapidly.
"The Millionaire Waltz," Julia said. She smiled when her partner looked at her in surprise and she said, "I had a feeling you were going to ask." They sat down then, as they had a while until their next dance and watched the O'Dells performing Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy next on their own.
"She was nice," Peter said when Taylor Swift started to sing Don't Try So Hard on her own.
"I know, but I didn't really think she wasn't going to be," Julia replied with a nod. She smiled when the O'Dells joined the singer for the next song, Pain is So Close to Pleasure. "That would so hurt my voice," since Skye was a little higher singing with Taylor for that song.
"Definitely me," Peter said, nodding. They laughed together and then got up as they needed to head side stage for the next song since it was theirs.
Beckett was smiling seeing her daughter's dress for You're My Best Friend, and she took more pictures before she was enjoying the song and dance while the O'Dells were performing alone. She was surprised when the Julia and Peter were staying for the next song, A Kind of Magic, running around Skye, Mary and Jackie since they had the song on their own again.
"I'm not surprised she didn't tell us about this," Castle murmured to his wife.
"I know," Beckett said with a soft laugh. She turned her attention to the stage again, feeling Eliza leaning against her. "Tired?" She wasn't surprised when her second youngest shook her head firmly and she leaned down to kiss the top of her head before Brian and Roger were coming out to speak to introduce the next song. While they were speaking, she couldn't help thinking of Julia, wondering how she was doing because she wasn't going to come back to the stage until the second to last song.
Listening to Skye and Adam singing Somebody to Love together, Brian and Roger with them, Julia changed as quickly as she could before going to the door. "We have a lot longer this time," she said as Derek was standing behind her partner.
"I know, are you bored?" Derek asked with a smile.
"No way," Julia replied. "I'm eager for these last songs."
"Especially the next one?" Peter asked her.
"Especially," Julia said with a nod.
"They're about to start," Derek told the two before they were hurrying to sit so they could watch it on the TV.
"Which is this?" Peter whispered as the music was beginning and Skye was playing the bass guitar with black surrounding her.
"Cool Cat," Julia answered in a rush before they looked at the screen while the hologram of Freddie stepped up next to Skye. She smiled as the two were singing it together and the applause of the audience was loud which made her happy since she loved the song.
"And next?" Peter asked when Rami was talking before the next song.
"You heard these songs yesterday!" Julia said in mock exasperation.
"No fighting guys," Derek said with a smile. "Your parents are going to kill me if you do that."
"Not really," Peter said. "But seriously, the name?"
"Is This the World We Created?" Julia replied. "Freddie sang it just with Brian at Live Aid."
"Oh yeah," Peter said after thinking about that for a moment. He turned to the screen as Brian was playing an acoustic guitar, standing with Skye at the end of the stage that was surrounded by the audience. He was about to ask if the guitarist hadn't sung at all in the original recording when Julia was speaking quickly.
"Skye's going to be singing by herself," she told him before the investigator was beginning to.
Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need
While Skye was waiting to sing the chorus, Beckett took a couple shots of both her and Brian, zooming in a little more on the guitarist and his hands on the guitar. She lowered her camera, feeling her husband wrap his arm around her waist before Eliza was leaning against her as they listened to the chorus.
Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today
The world that we created
"What a sad song," Peter said.
"I know," Julia said. "But they wrote it because of the famine in Africa remember." She smiled a little when her partner nodded seriously, and she turned back as Skye was singing the rest of the song.
You know that everyday a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by
Wooh, is this the world we created?
We made it all our own
Is this the world we devastated, right to the bone
If there's a God in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that he created
Clapping with Peter and Derek, Julia said to them, "That was awesome."
"It was," Peter said in agreement. "Next is…" When she gave him a look he couldn't help laughing and was about to speak before Freddie was suddenly calling out and they turned to the TV with Derek as the next song was beginning.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hammer to Fall!
Beckett had to take a lot of pictures as everyone from the concert was there, Mary playing bass as Skye was singing the first verse though everyone else was singing backup with her. She was relieved when she managed to get everyone and listened to the vocals since she knew the song already from the Live Aid performance.
Here we stand, here we fall
History don't care at all
Made the bed, light the light
Lady Mercy won't be home tonight
Julia couldn't help bouncing up and down on her chair at how Skye was singing the song, smiling and looking at Derek before he was turning to her with a look of surprise on his face before he spoke.
"What?" the dancer asked.
"No, just seeing if you're liking it as much as we are," Julia explained.
"Don't worry," Derek said slightly laughingly as she looked a little concerned.
Nodding, Julia turned her attention back to the TV, smiling while the song was continuing with the group on the stage singing the chorus together though Skye took the second and last lyrics on her own.
You don't waste no time at all
Don't hear the bell but you answer the call
It comes to you as to us all
Yeah, and it's for the hammer to fall
Adam Lambert was singing the next verse, before the chorus was the same as the first, the others singing the first and third lyrics while he sang the rest on his own.
Oh, every night, and every day
A little piece of you is falling away
But lift your face, the Western way
Build your muscles as your body decays
Tow the line and play their game
Let the anesthetic cover it all
Till one day they call your name
Then it's time for the hammer to fall
The Weeknd sang the next verse, everyone singing the third and sixth lyrics before he took the other lyrics.
Rich or poor or famous for
Your truth it's all the same
Oh no, oh no
Lock your door 'cause the rain is pouring
Through your windowpane
Oh no
Baby now your struggle's all in vain
Castle watched Brian playing the guitar solo at that point, amazed he was having the chance to watch him perform live before the music built and the group was vocalizing together in the background. The rest of the song, he watched as the performers were all singing together until the music ended all at once.
For we who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the mushroom cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just wanna scream it louder and louder
What the hell are we fighting for?
Just surrender and it won't hurt at all
You just got time to say your prayers
While you're waiting for the hammer to hammer to fall
Waiting for the hammer to, hammer to, hammer to fall
"The music video is next, isn't it?" Eliza was asking her mother. When Beckett nodded, hugging her, she smiled but was thinking about her big sister and what she was thinking at that moment.
"The music video is next," Derek told the kids as he watched them.
"Yep," Peter said, looking over at Julia as she was snorting in laughter before she was talking to them both.
"I'm really excited for it," she told them. "Though it's not our first music video." Julia nearly laughed at the way both were saying, "Nope," but she had to control herself while the music video was starting, and they turned their attention to the TV where the shot was of part of the empty arena and Skye was standing at the top of one flight of stairs down before she disappeared and The Weeknd appeared at the top of the other. The other singers were shown in the same way before the kids that had been there the day before were all on the flight of stairs.
When the first verse began, Skye was filmed on the end of the stage shaped like the head of a guitar, laying down before she pushed herself up with the first lyric. At the second one Mary was singing it, shaking her head as she shook a snow globe in her hand before Julia and Mari were coming up from the side of the stage, wearing the hats with the daffodils while the two women were singing the third and fourth lyrics together as the girls were bobbing their heads, Skye putting her finger to her chin as she said, "Oh dear," on her own.
When the outside temperature rises
And the meaning is, oh, so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you. Oh dear
The next verse Adam was singing with Peter and Clive skipping around a giant screwdriver. The singer was then throwing up a handful of pink confetti at the second to last lyric, the boys stopping and throwing their own handfuls during the last lyric of the verse.
Are they trying to tell you something?
You're missing that one final screw
You're simply not in the pink, my dear
To honest, you haven't got a clue
For the next verse, the kids were paired off in a Tango hold together though merely moving out of the way to reveal the singers as Skye sang the first two lyrics. She was spun away by Adam to reveal Taylor and John in the same hold as the previous two had been, the two singing the next to lyrics and spinning away. Behind them was David and Billie Joe, lounging on chairs and twirling drumsticks as they were singing the last two lyrics while Paul and Ringo appeared behind them pretending to play one drumstick on both their heads and The Weeknd was pretending to play the banjo uke from the Leroy Brown song next to them. Skye then popped up in front of the camera and was speaking before she was laughing though Freddie's laugh was there instead of her own when the picture blurred, and she moved away.
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened. Oh, oh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear!
There was a short instrumental there and the footage of them disappearing and reappearing there was played again, though that time it ended with Brian and Roger together at the tops of two flights of stairs.
With the next verse John was singing, Eliza and Julia were pirouetting around him as he was letting playing cards fly from his hands. While he was singing the second lyric a coin appeared in front of him and he looked down at Taylor who was standing up in front of him and she sang the third and fourth lyrics. She looked down at a sheet of fabric before the camera revealed it was Eliza and Julia rapidly waving it up and down. She started to step forward on the fourth lyric and stepped back when the other performers appeared behind her.
I'm one card short of a full deck
I'm not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I'm not my usual top-billing
The next verse Julia and Peter were throwing washcloths back and forth as David was pretending to try and catch them. While he sang the second lyric he was falling back into Derek's arms before Peter picked up his legs and they put him in a 'boat' made of wood painted white. While he was pretending to row furiously with a paddle, Billie Joe appeared walking back as he sang the third lyric. He held a teapot and started to pour water in the boat before Julia and Peter started to throw bananas in front of him as he sang the fourth lyric. Skye appeared then, catching a banana and speaking, peeling a banana and tossing it backwards so Billie Joe caught it.
I'm coming down with a fever
I'm really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over
I think I'm a banana tree
Oh dear
The screen blurred before it focused on a row of chairs on the stage shaped like a guitar neck. The performers started to bounce into the chairs in time with the beat, singing as they had the first time the chorus was in the song and filling all the chairs before the camera went to Skye while she spoke again.
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
Finally happened. Uh, huh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear
With the instrumental, Skye was shown at first holding a guitar before Brian and Paul were leaning over in front of her, pretending to play it. She stepped back and Billie Joe took her place before Taylor and John were doing that and it kept rotating until the screen blurred again before it focused on Paul and Ringo for the next verse.
At the first lyric, Ringo was pretending to knit though he eventually drummed with the needles as he was singing. Paul sang the next lyric, throwing up the yarn on his hands and shaking his head while Ringo continued to drum. The Weeknd came into the shot then, sitting on a chair Derek was pushing around while singing the third lyric. For the fourth as he was singing, he was motioning to the camera while Eliza pretended to spin him around.
I'm knitting with only one needle
Unraveling fast. It's true
I'm driving only three wheels these days
But my dear, how about you?
There was a slight instrumental there, and after the screen was focusing again the performers were standing in front of the chairs before they were disappearing, and the kids were all in them and lip syncing to the lyrics though the performers were singing them as they had been the first time. At the end Skye appeared, waving her hands in front of the chairs before the children were soon replaced with the performers before they appeared next to the performers, and she spoke the very last line before the video ended with the picture coming in and out of focus and fading away with the music.
I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened
It finally happened
Oh yes
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad!
Just very slightly mad!
And there you have it!
Julia was smiling at the end, and she turned to the others saying, "That worked out really well."
"It did," Peter said, nodding in agreement. "Think our parents liked it?"
"Well… they were there for the filming," Julia said with a laugh. She got up with the two and they walked together to the side of the stage again before they were allowed on, and she saw Skye walking to her.
"You're ready?" the investigator said with a smile, squeezing her shoulder.
"We both are," Julia said, doing her best not to become too nervous as they had been asked to join everyone on stage suddenly the day before. She looked at Peter, smiling while Roger was talking quietly to him after handing him a batá drum before she looked up at Skye. "The same moves?" she asked the investigator.
"The same," Skye answered rapidly as Brian was nearly finished speaking. When he had she smiled and nodded at Julia before the lights on the stage came on and the girl was leaning on an amp that she was standing on the other side of. It was there as a prop, all the other amps in different locations. Roger started the song, playing conga drums, Peter leaning his elbows lightly on the other side watching the drummer. When she started singing the first lyric, Julia was skipping around the other performers who were waiting. She couldn't see it but knew the girl was going to Peter and they were taking turns on the batá the boy held before they appeared next to her again.
Sometimes I get to feeling
I was back in the old days long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seems to perfect. You know?
Beckett, taking a picture of Julia and Peter, was startled to discover they were coming to them on the stage. She lowered her camera quickly and smiled as the two were waving at the beginning of the next verse, the audience doing that back to them before they were gesturing down to their group.
Mari was going up first; as had been planned; lifted onto the stage before Eliza followed and Clive was after them. She held her dance partner's hand and they were running back to the main stage with the other three behind them at the end of the verse
The days were endless, we were crazy, we were young
The sun was always shining. We just lived for fun
At the start of the next verse, Eliza went up to Paul who spun her and did the same with John before she went to the others and skipped around with them while The Weeknd was singing the verse.
Sometimes it seems like lately
I just don't know
The rest of my life's been just a show
At the chorus, the five kids were sitting down together, watching the performers singing all together before they stood at the last lyric and split up to stand with different performers.
Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now
But one thing is true
When I look and I find I still love you
Taylor sung next, holding Eliza's hand and walking down the stage before she was near The Weeknd. She looked down with him as the little girl spun before they both turned to him when he sang the rest of the verse.
You can't turn back the clock
You can't turn back the tide
Ain't that a shame
I'd like to go back on time on a roller-coaster ride
When life was just a game
Castle looked at his wife while she was taking pictures, not surprised when she lowered her camera that she was emotional. He was feeling the same with the lyrics and he did his best to turn his attention back to the stage as John was singing the next verse while Julia next to him was watching him.
No use sitting and thinking on what you did
When you can lay back and enjoy it through your kids
While the singer was going through the next verse, Julia pirouetted away from him before she was going over to Peter and they danced together, Contemporary steps, before they stopped as the performers were singing the chorus again. During that, she went back to Skye and sang herself though no one was going to hear her, looking over at the others and seeing her friends and sister were singing themselves.
Sometimes it seems like lately
I just don't know
Better sit back and go with the flow
'Cause these are the days of our lives
They've flown in the swiftness of time
These days are all gone now
But some things remain
When I look and I find no change
"Luckily they're having fun with this one," Castle murmured to his wife.
Beckett, taking pictures of the kids when they were dancing ballet steps before they moved to sit in front of Brian and Roger as they were standing next to each other while they performed the instrumental. She glanced at her husband when he touched her arm and waited for him to lean into her before he spoke.
"They're going to be so tired," Castle commented.
"We're leaving as soon as we can," Beckett replied. She then turned back to the stage as the performers were all singing the final chorus, not surprised when on the screens in the arena showed Freddie in the music video for the song saying the last line before the stage went dark.
Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now
But one thing's still true
When I love and I find I still love you
I still love you
While the arena was cheering, the stage was being changed and Eliza, Mari and Clive were taken back to their seats.
"Did you have fun?" Castle asked.
"Yeah," Eliza said eagerly. "I wish it wasn't over."
"I don't blame you," Beckett said while she hugged her. She wanted to ask her daughter if she was tired, but Brian and Roger were speaking on stage after another video of Freddie.
Since they were still on the stage, Julia was watching the two singers thank everyone and she waved to the audience when they were thanking her, Peter and Derek.
"And we have one last thank you tonight," Roger said. "Skye?"
"Yes," the investigator said, stepping up to the mic. "This is all for Freddie. We love you and miss you greatly, we'll never forget you. To Freddie." After the audience and performers had repeated the last two words, she took the mic off the stand and waited for Brian and Roger to walk over to where they needed to perform and made sure Raj was at the grand piano before she waited for Adam to start singing, standing with her at the instrument.
Tonight
I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world, I'll turn it inside out
Yeah!
I'm floating around
In ecstasy
Beckett, taking a picture of the singer, wasn't surprised that they had stuck with having Adam start off the song and making the latter part of it a duet after what had happened during the dress rehearsal the day before. The second verse, Skye was joining Adam, and they were singing standing next to each other which she took a quick picture of them as the music was starting.
So don't stop me now, don't stop me
'Cause I'm having a good time, having a good time
Julia was jumping up and down on one side of the stage with Peter where they'd been allowed to stand while Skye was singing the next verse. She briefly remembered Freddie at that point and felt a pressure against her right side before she glanced at Skye and Adam, listening to the performance as Brian and Roger were singing back up as well and focusing on the song while they were dancing through the rest of the concert and enjoying it greatly.
I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by
Like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go, go, go
There's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky
Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'Cause I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't want to stop at all, yeah!
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite
I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to oh-oh-oh-oh-oh explode
I'm burning through the sky
Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Hey, hey, hey!
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Ooh, ooh, ooh
I like it
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Have a good time, good time
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Ooh, ooh alright
At the instrumental, Beckett managed to get a picture of Julia, Peter and Derek dancing on the side before she looked down at Eliza who was jumping up and down with Fleur near them. She smiled at her husband before she saw he was leaning over to her, whispering a second later.
"Are you finished?" Castle asked her.
"Yes," Beckett said, putting her camera away in her bag. She turned to her husband, and they were dancing with their daughter, Fleur having gone back to her grandfather and step-grandfather. They continued to the rest of the song, applauding with everyone else at the end as the performers were all bowing to end the concert.
Ooh I'm burning through the sky
Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you want to have a good time
Alright
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'Cause I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all
"Mom!" Julia said once she could see her mother walking into the room where she was waiting with everyone else backstage.
"Hey sweetie," Beckett said, taking her daughter into her arms. "You were great."
"She's right," Castle said with a smile. "You looked like professionals."
"Thanks," Julia told them, hugging them tightly. She turned to the rest of her family, hugging them before she said, "Well… I guess now I don't have to worry about the dances."
"No, but I don't blame you for missing it already," Alexis said, knowing why her little sister had said that.
"But that was fun," Eliza said eagerly. "I'm glad I got to go for a little."
"Girls," Mary said, walking over to them. She wasn't surprised when the Castle family were greeting her and congratulating her before she told the two, "We're having a drink and we want you to come over to be with us since you were part of the performance."
"What kind of drink?" Beckett asked calmly.
"Sparkling apple cider," Mary replied with a smile. "I was thinking the same too."
"You're all drinking that?" Castle couldn't help asking.
Giving him a look, Beckett said, "I don't think so," before there was an audible pop of a champagne bottle.
After everyone had been given a drink in the room, Brian began saying, "We thanked you on stage, but we wanted to do that here privately. We are grateful that you all agreed to join in honoring Freddie tonight."
"And you all did a wonderful job celebrating his life," Roger added. "To our singers and dancers, you've done Freddie proud. To Freddie."
"To Freddie," the others in the room said, holding up their glasses.
After drinking a little Adam said, "It was a great concert."
"What?" Skye asked, her eyes a little wide. "I wasn't the only one singing here."
"No, but you were the leader," John said.
"I'm going to have to talk to Stella," Skye said, grumbling playfully. "No more ringleader outfits." She smiled as the others were laughing and then said, "Also let's have a cheer for the kids! They were good sports and were wonderful performers tonight."
Pressing against her mother's side in her shyness, Eliza said, "My sister was the best. And Peter."
"I was just going to say," Skye said.
"Thanks," Julia said quickly, feeling her cheeks were on fire.
"Yeah," Peter said, talking rapidly as well since he was embarrassed. "But the singers were all great."
"Alright, let's end here," Skye said. "With a round of applause for the ones we should have done that for in the first place. For Brian and Roger and for your bloody brilliant band."
Cheering with the others, Julia set down her glass and was applauding rapidly for the two until people started to mingle. She went back to her family before she saw some people with her family. "Hi!" she said. "You made it."
"We had to," Esposito said. "So we could catch our sobrinas on the big stage."
"Did you like it?" Eliza asked while her sister was hugging their city friends that had made it. She had already greeted them, so she waited to hear their answers patiently once they were done.
"I thought it was great," Jenny said, smiling at Julia. "You keep getting better and better every time we see you. Both of you."
Smiling as Eliza thanked the woman shyly, Beckett said, "Would you mind taking a picture with us?"
"All of us?" Lanie asked.
"Of course. I'd like to hurry and do that now because I know you want to get back to Miles," Beckett told her.
"And you don't want to get back to Josie?" Lanie shot back before she was smiling at her friend.
"I do," Beckett said quickly before she was calling out to Skye. After the investigator had taken the picture, she was talking with Esposito and Ryan as Castle was talking to Jenny and Dylan. She glanced over eventually to see that Lanie was speaking with Alexis before Esposito was getting her attention. Turning to the two men she said, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Ryan said quickly.
"An update?" Beckett asked softly.
Nodding Esposito said, "We've had regular cases, nothing suspicious and no one's stood out to us."
"I'm glad to hear that," Beckett said seriously. She noticed Lanie was talking to Dylan and said, "I guess you guys are heading out."
"We are," Ryan said, seeing his wife was motioning to him. "But we'll talk to you after Thanksgiving."
"We will, have a great holiday," Beckett told them. After the group had left to get Dylan and then return home, she turned to her husband and was about to speak when Julia was gasping and exclaiming.
"Zak!" the girl cried in joy. "You made it. All of you!"
"You invited us," the paranormal investigator said with a smile. Zak hugged her with one arm and then told her seriously, "That was awesome. Again, you are an amazing dancer."
"Peter too," Aaron said, looking around the room.
"Peter," Julia called to her partner. When he was looking at her, she waved to him and said once he was with them, "This is everyone from Ghost Adventures."
"Oh yeah," the boy said. Peter smiled when they were laughing and then said, "It's nice to meet you."
"There's Mari," Julia said, smiling when she spotted her friend coming over to them with Clive following. After the two had greeted the men she asked Zak, "Did you see the picture?" making sure to keep her voice down so no one else would hear.
"I did," Zak replied. "What happened when he left Skye?"
Julia was surprised, since she had assumed Skye had told him everything before she quickly explained what had happened. "He didn't mean to," she repeated. "And we were both fine in the end."
"I was fine," Skye said when the four men had turned to her.
"She's not kidding," Mary said quickly. "She was going around Coney Island after we finished the rehearsal yesterday."
"Cyclone?" Billy asked.
"Of course," Skye said easily. She smiled when the men were exchanging glances and she shook her head telling them, "Twice in the end, so don't worry about either of us. She went on the roller coaster too."
"It wasn't that bad for me," Julia said hurriedly. She smiled and said, "But yeah that was… interesting."
"I really want her to come with us on an investigation in the future," Zak said, looking at her parents.
"We'll see," Beckett replied, not surprised when her husband was looking at her to answer.
"Great, are you guys going to the bar?" Zak asked.
"They're heading out to celebrate," Skye explained.
"We told them already we're heading back to your guys' house," Mary added. "So we'll have to see you guys another time."
"Where are you spending Thanksgiving?" Julia asked the men.
"With our families," Aaron said. "We got flights."
"Yeah, thanks for that," Jay said.
"You're welcome," Skye said with a smile since he'd been addressing that to her. "But we'll be in touch."
"I'll tell you if we're around LA again," Zak said, shaking her hand.
Once they'd said goodbye to everyone, Beckett was walking quickly towards the room where the babysitter was with Josie. She wanted to get their daughter as fast as they could so they could head home and get some rest for the upcoming holiday.
Yawning widely, Julia rubbed her cheek and said to her parents, "I'm ready."
"Good," Castle said, looking at his wife who was yawning as well. He couldn't stop himself and he was yawning before he stopped and shook his head. "Okay, we all need to go to bed," he commented before he raised the covers for Julia.
After she was in bed, Julia was about to lay down before she tried to push herself further when her mother stopped her.
"Don't sweetie," Beckett said. "You need to get to sleep, okay?"
"Okay, but I love you," Julia told them. "Mom, Dad. Night."
"Night sweetheart," Castle said first, leaning over and hugging her. "Love you too," he added, sharing a kiss with her.
"I love you Julia," Beckett said. "Sweet dreams."
"Night," Julia said again before she laid back and got comfortable as her mother was covering her. Once they had left, she closed her eyes, not taking very long before she was falling asleep and feeling like she was dreaming immediately.
"Hullo darling," Freddie said with a smile.
"A dream?" Julia asked.
"Well," the singer said. "How exactly was I supposed to get in touch with you?"
"Because it's so late?" Julia said after thinking that over.
"Exactly," Freddie replied.
"Skye?" Julia then inquired.
"I'll manage to speak to her later," Freddie explained. "And of course, you could talk to her tomorrow."
"Sure," Julia said. "What did you want to talk to me about now?"
"The performance," Freddie said.
"One?" Julia replied with a smile.
"Cheeky," Freddie teased her. "And I mean all of yours. They were wonderful, I never thought of how the choreographed dances would be with our songs."
"They're fun to do that with," Julia said. "The music, the lyrics."
"You're thinking about the music video from yesterday?" Freddie asked. The girl was nodding her head and he smiled saying, "Good, I want you to always enjoy yourself when you're listening to the band."
"I will, don't worry Freddie, I always will," Julia replied earnestly.
"Good, you can go on to your crush," the singer said, still smiling.
Looking at him in surprise, Julia suddenly turned and saw they were there, making her smile before she ran over to them so they could embrace.
"Are you awake Kate?" Castle asked while he walked over to the bed.
"Barely," Beckett replied, looking up at her husband. "Come onto the bed, I don't want to look at you upside down."
Castle smiled and then walked around the room, turning off the lights away from the bed before he headed over to his wife. Climbing under the covers he said, "I'm really glad we have everything set for tomorrow."
"Me too, and don't worry about getting up," Beckett told her husband firmly. "I can brew something quickly."
"Are we looking at the new pictures Friday?" Castle asked her.
"We will," Beckett said with a smile because she had already sent the pictures to the company that was going to put them into the next book. "I'm sure everyone else will want to see them." She reached up to her husband, cupping his cheek before she told him, "Turn off the light love."
"Sure," Castle said, reaching over to his lamp since she'd already turned off hers. He paused and then said, "Hold on."
Beckett watched him with a smile as he took off his glasses and she waited as patiently as she could for him to set them down and turn off the light. Looking on while he laid down, she said, "I do wish I could have enjoyed the concert with you a little more."
"We did get to dance a little bit," Castle pointed out to her, holding his arm out to her once he was set on his back. He wrapped his arm around her when she was pressed against his side and said, "We'll dance another time for longer."
"Is that an innuendo?" Beckett asked with a smile though she was feeling her exhaustion a little more.
"No," Castle said firmly. He leaned down then and pressed his lips to hers before they slowly parted and he told her, "I love you, Kate."
"I love you too Rick," Beckett replied with a smile. They shared another kiss before she said, "And it could have been."
"I'm glad," Castle replied. "Though way too tired to be able to do much right now so you know."
"It's why I'm not going to call you a pervert," Beckett said. They shared once more kiss and she murmured, "Goodnight, Rick."
"Night love," Castle replied before they were laying down again and he held her closer while he closed his eyes to sleep. He dreamt about her as she was about him, wrapped up tight under the covers that cold Wednesday night.
