But for now, enjoy the story.
Enjoy.
Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura all looked to the door, the Uchiha and his fan girl scowling at the fact that they had to wait an extra two hours for their sensei to finally arrive while the other teams had already left earlier and were already home more than likely. Naruto just raised an eyebrow and closed his journal, tucking it away into his jacket pocket with a hum of interest as a silver haired man stepped in. Most of his face was hidden by his hiate and face mask, one gray eye the only one that was exposed. His silver hair was sticking up everywhere in a carefully mussed up style as he gazed over the three that were standing before him, waiting for him to say something.
"I find myself," Kakashi started, pausing as he eyed the three genin before him with a critical eye, "hating you all." He didn't twitch at the yell from Sakura or the glare from Sasuke but found himself surprised by the rather small smile from Naruto as the blond stood up and walked over to his new team mates. "Meet me up on the roof and we'll get this over with," he stated, mind wondering how the hell he was supposed to deal with the three before him much less how he was to deal with Sasuke and his training.
It would be interesting to see how they dealt with the test the next day.
Disappearing in a puff of smoke, Kakashi left, leaving Team 7 standing there and looking rather surprised about the man that was supposed to be their teacher, only Sakura truly showing her surprise about it. Naruto shook his head to clear it before snorting and heading for the door.
"Let's get this over with. I have a feeling that there's more to this then what we were told by Iruka-san," Naruto mused, thinking about how his tutor had been stressing he needed to question and look for the hidden aspects of a mission. Sparrow had also told him that he needed to question things in every day life because when it came to nins, there was always something else going on.
"Why do you think that, idiot? I highly doubt that there's anything more then our sensei wanting to get to know us," Sakura snorted, Naruto and Sasuke sharing looks at how surprising it was that such a smart girl could forget one of the main rules of being a nin.
"Man, Haruno, you forget your rules or something?" Naruto asked as he stepped out of the class room, Sasuke following after.
"I think she did," the Uchiha snorted, waving a hand in a bored fashion as Sakura scampered after him with another frown on her lips. "Sakura, the first rule to being a nin is to question everything about you. Our lives are filled with danger so we need to question and ask and learn, no matter how much it may annoy us to do so until we're sure that what it is isn't dangerous," he lectured, the young girl blushing at the fact that she had forgotten such an important rule.
"Right," she said, Naruto shaking his head. He was surprised that the girl had passed as many of their classes as she had, some of them needing a flexible thinking that she wasn't showing to them at the world. Sasuke snorted and shoved his hands into his pockets as they walked up to the roof, finding Kakashi perched on the fence that ran around the roof top and reading an orange book that the blond knew very well.
"Must you read that in front of impressionable children?" Naruto asked, voice soft and musing, sounding almost like his tutor when he was discussing something with him. The book disappeared into one flak vest pocket as gray eyes turned to him, crinkling slightly at the corner.
"You sound like someone I know when you say that," Kakashi drawled, having noted that when he had read the profiles of his new students that Naruto had a supplemental tutor.
"Do I?" Naruto asked as he sat down and lent back on one hand, pulling out his usual kunai once more and tossing it as Sakura scowled at him and Sasuke watched, taking his own seat.
"Idiot! Put that away! You're going to hurt yourself with that," Sakura screeched, not moving any closer to the spinning weapon as Naruto looked at her as if she had grown a second head.
"Sakura, if I hurt myself, I have obviously not trained enough to be a shinobi and need to practice my kunai works," Naruto said slowly, shaking his head. "So, you're Kakashi, right?" he asked, turning to the nin that was watching them with some interest at just how the youngest of the three handled his female teammate.
"Yep, that is me," Kakashi drawled, looking over them and thinking that he may have to rethink what he had thought of them. Sasuke looked as if he was in deep thought while Naruto was staring at him, still playing 'catch the kunai' and Sakura was sitting on Sasuke's other side, obviously not wanting to be next to Naruto if she could help it.
The profiles would at the least need to be rewritten.
"Tell me about yourselves. Pinkie, you start," he said after mentally shaking his head to clear his mind of the cluttered thoughts. Sakura scowled and crossed her arms.
"And what do you want to know?" she asked, sounding a little bit belligerent, making Kakashi's one visible eyebrow twitch.
"Name, age, dreams and hopes, hates or dislikes, what ever, goals. Just tell us about yourself," Kakashi stated, mentally mourning having to deal with them, even if it was only a few days or so.
"Oh," Sakura said, Naruto and Sasuke rolling their eyes at her antics. "Well, my name is Sakura Haruno and I just turned 13 years of age. My dreams are..." she trailed off while looking at Sasuke and blushing, giggling softly before clearing her throat, blush evident on her cheeks. "My hates are well, I'm sure you can figure that out," she continued, glaring towards Naruto. The young boy just ignored her and flipped the kunai in his hands before catching it again. "My goals are much the same as my dreams actually."
"Very..." Kakashi started, pausing to think of the right word, "informative." He shook his head before pointing to Sasuke. "You, dreams, goals, likes and dislikes. Go."
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha and I'm 13 years of age. My likes are training and reading. My dislikes are lazy people who don't do what they need to do and the paperwork that I have to go over for my estate," he continued, wrinkling his nose. "My dreams are to reinstate the Uchiha name as a loyal clan to Kohonakagure and to avenge those of my clan who were innocent and didn't deserve death." Kakashi blinked several times as he stared at the young man, surprised by such an adult answer. Sasuke looked vaguely embarrassed by the fact that he was getting stared at by not only his new teacher but his fellow teammates. "I happened to hear some good advice and really thought about things. I also looked some things up in the family archives and made some changes in my thoughts."
"I...see," Kakashi hummed, frowning lightly. Apparently no one had thought that the young boy would be able to do more then do what was expected of him. "Alright, blondie, your turn."
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'm 12. My dream is to find where I'm happiest when it comes to the world that we live in and to maybe find someone to spend it with someday. My short term goal is to finish studying the current subjects that I'm doing and to get my handwriting a bit neater. My longer term goals are to learn even more then what I'm learning now and maybe get some new friends," Naruto stated, shrugging one shoulder as his kunai was slid into his leg pouch.
"What happened to becoming Hokage? You kept going on and on about it," Sakura stated, sounding mildly curious as to what could have changed her teammate so much. It more then just the clothes and the way he watched instead of being loud. It was a quiet confidence that seemed to settle more and more and more as the last month had continued on.
"If it happens, it happens," Naruto stated, smiling slightly at her and making her huff. "So, sensei, tell us about yourself. We know your name is Hatake Kakashi and that you are our teacher but that's about it."
Kakashi blinked and raised his visible eyebrow at the fact that the kid before him had changed so much in such a short time before he shifted on his feet and smiled, eye crinkling. "As you know, I am known as Hatake Kakashi. My dreams and goals are mostly fulfilled so I'm not going to go into them, and my hobbies…well, I enjoy reading," he continued, pulling out his book and opening it up to his current page. "We have one more test before you are officially genin, which will happen tomorrow at 8 in the morning."
"But…we already graduated!" Sakura protested, Kakashi looking at her over the edge of his book.
"You were released from the control of the academy. The final genin test, the very test that shows your jounin instructor that you get what being a genin and a chunnin at a later time actually means. We give this test to you," he chirped, standing up and shoving a hand into his pocket with a smile. "I expect you at training grounds eight at eight in the morning. And don't eat." With that, he disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Naruto hummed and stood up, shoving his own hands into his pockets with a snort. "From what I know, he'll be two hours late so bring something to do in the morning. And I do suggest you do eat," he continued, heading for the door and opening it up as Sasuke stood up.
"But Kakashi-sensei just told us not to," Sakura growled, tone screaming that she was dealing with an idiot. "And why should we listen to you?"
"If you don't want to believe me, don't. I don't particularly care, Sakura. I have things to do," Naruto stated, waving one hand and leaving the two to stare after him in surprise.
Naruto had changed so very much and they didn't know when it had happened, the two having never thought that their new teammate was worth their time. So they were surprised at the fact that the younger male just didn't care about their opinions any more.
