Staring at the paperwork before him, Ibiki growled lowly to himself and shook his head as he shifted through the various pages, figuring out just what he needed to do and when. Thirty minutes later, and the solid knock on his office door was a welcomed relief. "Enter," he called out, putting the papers in his hand to the side as Sparrow opened it and stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "I take it that you have a report on your newest student?" he asked.
"Yeah, I do," Sparrow said, coming to stand before Ibiki before sitting with his boss waved a hand at one of the chairs. "Most of it comes from what Naruto was able to figure out to."
"He's getting better. You've been working with him close to a month now yes?" Ibiki asked, Sparrow nodding his head. "I've checked in on him with Iruka-san and he agrees with me that you're going to be his tutor for a while yet. Though I think the word mentor works better for you, yes?" he asked, smirking. Sparrow just smirked at him from behind his mask.
"Yes, I suppose it will work better. He's smart, like his father was reputed to be, and more hands on like his mother," Sparrow drawled. "But he's got the brains and knows how to put it forward. As long as you explain that everything that he has to learn goes to bettering his future and getting his goals within reach, he goes for it," he continued. Tilting his head, he tapped his fingers on the arm of his chair. "Sir…"
"Is it about Haruno?" Ibiki asked, digging through the paperwork to find the files on Team 7. Finding Sakura's file, he flipped it open and frowned at how average she seemed, both in the psychological and the physical sense. "She seems boring. But if you're about to talk about her, there is something that is worrying you."
"There is, sir." Pausing, he dug around in his weapons pouch and found the small scroll that held a single seal. Unsealing it, he picked up the thick report and flipped through it to the section about Sakura. "I had Naruto write out every incident that he had in regards to people to break him out of his mask even more and to learn about how people worked. He's gotten through the people that he's had very little interactions with and got to those who he has more interactions with. He finished a basic report about his team. From what I can see, Sakura...well she has an odd perception of what it means to be a kunoichi and what her duties will be when she gets past being a genin."
"How so?" Ibiki asked, taking the offered file and reading over the summary. "Sakura Haruno shows that she either did not attend, did not listen, or wasn't told about the realities of the kunoichi lifestyle by her Kunoichi Duties, Trials and Tribulations class. It is possible that one or both of her parents have decided to fill her head about the way a woman in the ninja life should act. She needs a female who comes from a ninja clan or who has no less than two years as either a jounin, tokubetsu jounin, or ANBU with multiple mission to guide her to either become a proper kunoichi or to leave. Either way, her fangirling ways will get her killed if something isn't done. This comes from Naruto?"
"Yep. He wrote a short summary for each person and what he thinks would happen if that person doesn't have something tweaked. He's kind of holding out on Sasuke at the moment since something changed for him, but we're not sure what," Sparrow stated. "I told Naruto that I would watch him when I can, and the first time I watched him...he trained and did paperwork."
"It sounds as if he is about the same. Why do you say that he's a different person?" Ibiki asked, raising an eyebrow as he frowned heavily at the ANBU before him.
"Because the paperwork that he's doing isn't just request forms for various scrolls, but for his estate and those families under his watch. He has someone helping him, a retired clan nin, but he does most of the paperwork himself when he's not busy with other things," Sparrow stated, shaking his head in some amazement. "I have never seen him take any kind of interest in the goings on of the families in his care. He's also stopped three weddings because it wasn't a good match and one of the spouses were abusive. It's like he's trying to be the stand-in clan head that he is instead of just an avenging brat."
"That's right, Itachi, despite his status, is still clan head, isn't he?" Ibiki sighed, putting down the file and rubbing at his face. "This is just even more fucked up than normal, isn't it?"
"Considering that ANBU deal in fucked up shit?" Sparrow snorted, shaking his head with an amused look, hidden by his mask as it was. "To summarize what Naruto has seen, Sakura needs someone to kick her ass and show her the ways of a kunoichi instead of the lies that are filling her head. And Sasuke just needs to be watched, make sure that he is truly moving forward with his life instead of just play acting. Perhaps have someone talk with him," he stated.
Ibiki nodded and wrote down a few things on a piece of paper, making notes on what he wanted to happen but still needed the Hokages go ahead. "I think that there's going to be a few hiccups to come in regards to Sasuke, especially if someone works on stroking his ego once more," he said, frowning heavily as he tapped his pen on the table. "We don't want him to get jealous or demand things that he doesn't need if possible. I also need to speak with Kakashi about Naruto and the fact that he's mentoring under you now," he said.
"That's going to go over well," Sparrow snorted, sarcasm dripping from each word as he shook his head. "Yeah, right. He's going to throw his own version of a hissy fit and we both know it."
"He'll have to get over it. Iruka is, on paper at least, his contact guardian and has the right to approve a mentorship. And he's approved you for it," Ibiki said.
"When did he become the contact guardian of Naruto?" Sparrow asked, tilting his head to the side.
"When Naruto accepted his first mission actually," Ibiki stated, sitting back with a smile, tapping his fingers on the desk before him. "The civilian council doesn't have any say in it since Naruto isn't a civilian anymore and wasn't the moment that he accepted the mission, even before he received his hiate. And the council over the shinobi know better than to mess with the Hokage on some things," he continued.
"So Iruka became his contact guardian because he won't do anything they tell him to and Kakashi can't do shit because Iruka will just bronze his balls if he pisses him off," Sparrow snorted, getting a smirk from Ibiki.
"Would he really bronze someones nuts just because they pushed him to far?" Ibiki asked, curious about that.
Sparrow simply stood up and walked to the door, opening it before pausing and turning, the smirk radiating from behind his mask. "He has all the tools to do it, sir. And he's well known for being ruthless when he was doing such missions," he drawled, leaving the office with one last wave, the report still sitting before Ibiki.
Feeling a bit curious, Ibiki went through the various files that he had on the shinobi of the village and found that Iruka's had a note on it. It stated that he had permission to use torture techniques, including the pouring of liquid metals onto ball sacks, should he find them hurting one of his charges or doing something to hurt the village.
Putting the file away, he decided that he should go get a drink before he offered Iruka the chance to turn his skills onto Mizuki for his fuck up. He didn't want to get hard while at work.
