Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee!

"Pikachu I choose you!" Pikachu blinked as he gave a light flick of his tail, the electrical mouse not appearing to be as eager to meet his trainer as Eevee was. Eevee had leaped into Chloe's arms and began nuzzling her while emitting a cute cry.

"Evoi!"

Ash shot them a brief glance before offering Pikachu another smile as he figured maybe Pikachu just needed a hug! "Come here Pikachu!" Ash's arms reached out for Pikachu while an alarmed look quickly flashed across Cerise's face as Pikachu's cheeks began to spark.

"Ash wait don't-"

"Pikachuuuu!" As soon as Ash pulled him into a hug Pikachu blasted him with an electrical shock! Chloe's eyes shot wide with horror as she saw her best friend being electrocuted by Pikachu.

"Ash!" She cried out.

Ash soon fell to the ground with a pained groan as the attack came to an end, Pikachu leaped to the floor and turned his back on Ash as he looked away with a crossed look, arms crossed as he seemed quite upset with who he got stuck with.

"S-So that was Thunder Shock..." Ash groaned out as he laid on his side. Chloe let out an alarmed shout as she quickly raced to his side and examined his body with a frightened look, thankfully it wasn't anything serious but she bet it was still painful to endure! Chloe grabbed his hand as she helped him back to his feet. Eevee meanwhile walked over to Pikachu and let out a happy cry.

"Evoi!"

"Pika!" Pikachu offered Eevee a smile of his own as the two began chattering with one another, appearing to be close friends and possibly as close as their trainers were with each other?

"I don't get it... Pikachu gets along fine with Eevee, why did he blast me with Thunder Shock?" Ash groaned out as he rubbed the side of his head.

"Well there's a bit of a problem with Pikachu, he has a bit of trouble trusting humans." Cerise explained as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Now you tell me..."

"Eevee and him are quite close though and you've always been incredibly gifted with getting Pokemon to bond with you," Oak explained as he recalled the various lab Pokemon that quickly grew to like and respect Ash whenever he came over to visit the lab. "That we thought perhaps you would be the right fit for Pikachu!

"Not to mention the fact that you and Chloe will be traveling together," Cerise continued. While Ash would be traveling separately from Leaf and Gary, Chloe would be traveling with him as she wanted to see more of the world while also doing a bit of soul searching as she searched for a goal of her own. It was their plan for the past six years and they weren't going to move away from it! Though the thought had crossed their minds a few times neither one of them could imagine traveling without the other by their side, traveling with a friend would be more fun than being alone for a majority of the time! Not to mention the fact that Ash couldn't cook so he needed somebody around who could! "So Pikachu will get to remain with Eevee and won't feel as if his trainer is taking him away from her."

Ash gazed at Pikachu's backside as the mouse still had his back to him. "Well I never was one to back away from a challenge, I promise you Pikachu that by the end of the week the two of us will be best friends!" Ash exclaimed to the electrical rodent, Pikachu shifted his eyes towards Ash before quickly turning his head away as if he said 'as if'!

Chloe shifted her eyes between the two of them with a look of concern. She couldn't help but feel as if Ash were being too generous or hopeful, Pikachu appeared to be nearly as stubborn as he was! It'd be some sort of miracle for the two of them to become best friends by the end of the week.

Professor Oak clasped his hands together as he offered the two of them a smile before quickly reaching out for two different smartphone devices, one had a red coloring while the other had a light pink color. He then held out the devices to the new trainers as he continued to smile. "These are a brand new invention, the Rotom Phone! It has all of the functions of a smart phone but also has the functions of a Pokedex, feel free to try it out!"

Ash took the red Rotom Phone and held it towards Pikachu as he activated the Pokedex app.

"Pikachu the Mouse Pokemon, it's nature is to store up electricity. Forests where nests of Pikachu live are dangerous since the trees are so often struck by lightning!"

Chloe held the pink Rotom Phone towards Eevee who tilted her head and offered a cute cry as she was scanned with the Pokedex.

"Eevee the Evolution Pokemon, it can evolve into a variety of forms. Eevee's genes are the key to solving the mysteries of Pokemon evolution!"

"Whoa this is awesome!" Ash exclaimed as he looked the Rotom Phone over, it was definitely a lot lighter than the older model that was given out a few years ago! "So I can call my mom with this?!"

"Looks like you'll have to call her every once in awhile." Chloe giggled out as she playfully teased him. Ash sweated lightly as he realized that Chloe was right, as soon as Delia found out about this he'd have no excuse if he didn't call for weeks!

"You too Chloe, you know your mother and I will be wanting you to call at least once a week." Cerise spoke with a serious look. Chloe's mother was pregnant and expecting a second child, it wasn't that he didn't trust Ash he simply wanted to avoid his wife feeling stressed out if Chloe didn't check in for a long time.

"Of course, father." Chloe bowed her head respectfully as she understood his concern.

"And here are some empty Pokeballs," Professor Oak dropped five empty Pokeballs into each of their hands. "Now Ash you remember where to buy more, right?"

"At the local Pokemart!" Ash rolled his eyes lightly as Oak let out a light chuckle.

"Merely testing you my boy, now you two better get going! I'm sure your mothers will be quite eager to see your new partners!"

"Evoi!" Eevee flicked her tail before she leaped right back into Chloe's arms, sending Chloe's Pokeballs flying across the room as she let out an alarmed gasp!

"Eevee!" Chloe groaned out as she carefully placed Eevee down and began placing the Pokeballs into her bag as Ash helped her gather them up. "I don't mind carrying you Eevee but can you at least wait until my hands are free in the future?"

"Evoi!" Evoi merely tilted her head as she flashed her a cute smile, it was quite difficult to tell rather or not Eevee understood her but at least Eevee seemed to love her already!

Delia and Talia, Chloe's mother stood outside the front gates of Professor Oak's laboratory as they waited for their children to descend with cameras in their hands. Talia looked like how one would imagine Chloe looking in another twenty years, they were basically mirror images of each other with the only difference being that Talia was slightly taller than Chloe and that her hair was a bit shorter and tied into a ponytail, a look that Chloe used to copy when she was younger but now she let her hair down and free! Talia also wore a pair of glasses with a green circular trim, both her and Cerise suspected that Chloe might need glasses as well in the future but so far he eyes were still perfectly fine!

"Here come the kids now!" Delia exclaimed with an excited tone. The two mothers had their fingers ready on the trigger but right as they were about to get a good picture of the two exiting the gates, a large bird shaped shadow flew over the town and a thunderstorm quickly followed as rain began pouring down on them while thunder and lightning filled the skies above them!

"That's strange, the weather didn't mention rain today..." Talia noted as she looked towards the sky above.

"When have they ever been right?" Delia asked as she lightly shook her head before flashing Ash a worrisome look. "Ash why don't you stay here for the night? It's too dangerous to be traveling in a storm like this and you sure won't find any Pokemon roaming about in this weather!"

"Your mother's right, we should just stay here another night." Chloe placed her hand on Ash's shoulder as he lowered his head with a groan of disappointment. He knew they were right but that didn't mean he liked it!

"Maybe I'll have time to put the finishing touches on your traveling outfit!" Delia beamed before turning to Chloe. "I made one for you too Chloe, I'll bring it over later today!"

"Really? That's awfully nice of you Mrs. Ketchum, thanks so much!" Chloe bowed lightly while Ash crossed his arms and pouted, his expression matching Pikachu's as the rat turned his back to his trainer once more.

"Come on Ash, let's get you out of the rain." Delia waved her hand as she guided Ash back to their home. As soon as they were inside and out of the rain she got a closer look at the Pokemon that Ash had received. "Oh my a Pikachu! Just like Rex when he started, your father would be so proud!"

"The Professor's given out Pikachu before?!" Ash exclaimed in shock. He'd certainly never seen let alone heard of that before now but it sure made a lot of sense, Raichu was Rex's main Pokemon and always seen by his side. The two would have to be pretty close to have a bond like that and what bond was closer than that of a trainer and their first Pokemon?!

"And Eevee, that was your father's starter."

"So the demand was high back then too, eh?" Ash chuckled before releasing a sigh. "I miss him..." Pikachu glanced up at Ash with a saddened look before quickly looking away.

"I miss him too but he's out there working his way towards becoming the World Champion."

"Maybe I'll cross paths with him and battle him someday." Ash said with a hopeful expression, his fists tightly clenched as he stared off. "After all once I've gotten strong enough I'm gonna enter the World Championship myself! I just need the strength to back me up!" One journey through Kanto wouldn't be enough for that, only an idiot would rush into the World Championship like that. He needed to establish himself as a powerful trainer, win a Pokemon League and possibly take down an Elite Four member or two before he could consider something like that.

Delia smiled at his words before turning her gaze back towards Pikachu. "Shouldn't he be in his Pokeball?"

Ash leaped up with an alarmed look as he realized that he'd forgotten all about it and let poor Pikachu get soaked in the rain! "Sorry about that Pikachu, here get in the ball." Ash activated the return beam and Pikachu disappeared for a brief second before bursting back out with quite the upset look.

"Pikapi!" He cried out while scowling at Ash.

Ash narrowed his eyes and tossed the Pokeball down at Pikachu only for the mouse to quickly swing around and bat the ball right back at him, nailing Ash directly in the face!

"Gah!" Ash cried out while Pikachu rolled onto his back and began laughing.

"Some Pokemon prefer to remain outside of their Pokeballs." The Rotom Phone chimed out from Ash's pocket.

"Now it tells me." Ash groaned before shaking his head as he offered Pikachu a friendly smile. "Well nothing wrong with that, you can stay outside with me! We'll become close pals even faster now!"

Pikachu gave a brief look of surprise and even flashed a light smile before turning his back to him once more.

"Well I bet you and Pikachu are hungry, I'll cook you up something nice!" Delia clasped her hands together before making her way towards the kitchen while Ash turned to face Pikachu.

"You'll love her cooking Pikachu, it's amazing!"

"Pi?" Pikachu raised his eyebrow as he glanced back at Ash.

"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu let out an excited cry upon tasting the food that Delia had cooked. Though his eyes soon locked onto a ketchup bottle that sat on the side of the kitchen table. "Pika?" He pointed towards it while looking back at Ash as he asked what it was.

"That's ketchup you eat it with your fries, see?" Ash squirted out some ketchup onto his plate before dipping his fry into it, the fry was then offered to Pikachu who took a curious sniff before giving it a lick. Hearts filled his eyes as he heard fireworks sounding off within his head!

"Pika!" Pikachu snatched the ketchup bottle right out of Ash's hand and quickly placed his mouth around the bottle as he began downing ketchup like there was no tomorrow!

"Mime, Mr. Mime!" Mimey scolded Pikachu.

"Pikachu!" Ash exclaimed, he quickly reached for the bottle only for Pikachu to stand up and race across the table!

"Pika pi!" Pikachu shook his head, giving a possessive look before continuing to drink more of the ketchup as Delia let out a giggle.

"Don't worry about it, I guess you found the thing that Pikachu loves most!" Delia got up and walked over to the fridge, proceeding to remove several bottles of ketchup before placing them on the kitchen counter. "You can take those with you, I'm sure Pikachu will appreciate these."

"Thanks mom!" Ash gave her a grateful smile before turning back towards Pikachu. "Well Pikachu it looks like you'll be getting all the ketchup that you want!"

Pikachu let out a content "Chaaa!" as he finished up the bottle of ketchup, flashing his trainer a smile before collapsing onto his back from exhaustion.

Night had fallen on the town of Pallet and apart from a certain mother putting the finishing touches on her son's outfit, all would be sleeping soundly as a small pink feline Pokemon flew back into town. She gazed into the window of Chloe's room and let out a cute giggle as she saw the girl fast asleep with both Eevee and the family pet Yamper sleeping soundly at the foot of her bed. Mew's eyes glowed blue as she telekinetically opened the window and flew right into the room without a sound, she hovered over the bed and smiled down at the sleeping Chloe as she reached out and gently tapped both Chloe and Eevee with her paw. A pink glow surrounded their bodies for a brief second and Mew was quick to fly out of the room, closing the window shut behind her as to leave no trace of her presence.

She then flew across the street and directly into Ash's room which was far easier as he kept the window open. Mew turned her gaze towards the bed where Ash and Pikachu were sleeping soundly though Pikachu still had his back to Ash as he slept. Mew tilted her head and let out an amused giggle as she flew across the room and tapped both of them with her paws, a pink glow surrounded their bodies as Mew turned around to take her leave once more.

Shortly after the touch happened Ash immediately began tossing and turning as Mew shared a vision with him.

What appeared to be his father stood in a ruins of some kind, an Espeon stood next to him as they stared at a wall. Whatever art or words imprinted on it was blurred out but Ash wouldn't get the chance to look at it anyways as a blurred shadow raced by and pushed both Red and Espeon, the two let out a shout as they fell down into the never ending darkness below!

"Dad no!" Ash cried out. The shadow turned to face Ash, glowing red eyes looked directly at him while an evil looking smile made of flames crossed the figure's face as he lashed out at him!

"Gah!"

"Pi?!" Pikachu shot awake and turned to his trainer with a concerned look. "Pika pi?" Mew's touch didn't affect his dream but he did feel a weird sensation flowing through his body for a brief moment.

"I-It's nothing Pikach, just a nightmare... go back to sleep." Ash laid back down on the bed and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them as he felt Pikachu edging closer to him before placing his tail around his body as he appeared to be making an attempt to comfort Ash. Ash smiled lightly and pat Pikachu's head before closing his eyes as he drifted back to sleep.

Chloe's dream were a bit more pleasant but hard to interpret. She recognized Pewter City before the dream quickly changed to show her and Ash traveling through the nearby mountains with an older male trainer that she didn't know. The dream then changed to a tropical set of islands where what appeared to be a blue Pikachu raced across the beach in front of her before the scenario changed to her, Ash, Brock and another individual riding atop a Lapras in the middle of the ocean. Johto appeared next and the group appeared to be the same except for the fact that the trainer with the 'blue Pikachu' had gone. She had no idea where the next location was but it ended with that region, a boy and a girl, who were the same age that Ash and her currently were, overlooked an upcoming route with a black jackal pup and a small orange chicken standing beside the two of them. Further up ahead she could distinctly make out a version of her and Ash that appeared to be several years older but that was the most that she could make out, the last two trainers looked a bit familiar but she couldn't place where she'd seen them.

The following morning Chloe awoke and scratched the bottom of her chin. The dream felt quite odd, sure she dreamed of the future before but nothing like this! It also felt different than usual too it almost felt... real. Was it possible that she somehow got a glimpse of the future? Chloe quickly shook her head at the idea, dismissing it as there was no way that could have happened! She then looked towards the foot of her bed where her mother had left some clothes for her along with a note stating that it was the outfit that Delia had designed for her. Chloe glanced at the clothes before shrugging as she got up to try them on.

Ash stood in front of the mirror as he finished putting on the outfit that his mother had designed for him. Atop a black t-shirt was a primarily white jacket with the upper half having a blue coloring near the top of it, the collar of the jacket was red and yellow striped. He also wore a pair of gray cargo shorts and a fresh pair of blue and white running shoes! He also wore black fingerless gloves with a blue trim along the bottom while atop his head was the very same hat that Rex had given him back during Pokemon Summer Camp!

"Alright looks like we're good to go," Ash looked himself over to make sure everything fit right before making a quick dash for the door. "Come on Pikachu, let's go! We can't keep Chloe waiting!" Besides he was pretty eager to get going as well, as soon as he'd eaten up his breakfast he had rushed back upstairs to get into his new attire and now he was rushing on yet again as he made his way towards the front door where Delia stood waiting alongside Mimey.

"Ash you remembered to pack plenty of underwear right?" Delia asked. Ash heavily sweated while Pikachu began snickering upon hearing that.

"Y-Yes..." Ash sighed out.

"Make sure you change it every day!" Delia reminded him causing Pikachu to let out a loud laugh as Ash shot him a light glare.

"Will do..."

"And try your best to avoid Team Rocket, they're a nasty bunch!"

"I'll be fine mom, I promise!" Ash rolled his eyes lightly before throwing his arms around her as the two shared a brief hug before separating as Delia wiped a tear from her eye.

"N-Now get out there and make your first catch!"

"Will do, next time you hear from us Pikachu and I will have caught lots of Pokemon!"

Pikachu remained silent as he merely flicked his tail before following Ash out the door. The two headed outside and noticed Chloe standing across the road waiting for them, Chloe was wearing a jacket that was quite similar to Ash's except it covered the entirety of her upper body. The jacket was a light pink color which just happened to match her Rotom Phone! While Ash's jacket had a blue coloring around the shoulders, Chloe's had a sky blue coloring. The collar was light purple with a light blue line going through the middle. Chloe didn't wear any gloves. Her lower body consisted of a pair of blue jeans along with a pair of pink and white running shoes. Her hair remained long and free as she wasn't wearing a hat while Eevee was currently held within her arms, the Normal type gave off a cute smile as her eyes landed upon Pikachu.

Chloe looked Ash up and down before offering him a smile. "Her outfit looks good on you."

"Thanks, I'd say the same about you!" Ash chuckled lightly, Chloe smiled before nodding her head towards the town's exit.

"Shall we get going then? I know you're eager to get your first Pokemon."

"Of course, I can't wait to see what my first catch will be! Maybe it'll be a Caterpie that I'll raise into a Butterfree or perhaps a Weedle or Rattata?!"

The two walked to the edge of town together before turning to face one another. "Shall we split up here and meet back up in an hour?" She suggested knowing that it'd be easier finding Pokemon if the two of them split up. She didn't see a need for gathering a lot of Pokemon just yet as she lacked a goal but with potential threats out there like Team Rocket, Beedrill hives and territorial Gyarados' it would be useful having more than a single Pokemon to rely upon!

"Sure, see you in an hour!" Ash exclaimed with a wave of his hand. "Come on Pikachu, let's go!"

"Eevee let's go that way!" Chloe pointed in the opposite direction, Eevee let out an excited cry as she quickly followed her trainer while Pikachu silently flicked his tail as he followed Ash.

"A Pidgey, that'd be a perfect catch!" Ash exclaimed before throwing out his arm. "Pikachu use Thunder Shock! ...Pikachu?" Ash looked down only to see Pikachu scratched at his ear and looking as if he hadn't even heard him at all! Ash clenched his fists before pulling out a towel from his pocket. "Fine I'll do this by myself."

"Pi?" Pikachu tilted his head as he watched Ash raise the towel up in front of him while slowly maneuvering towards the Pidgey.

Pidgey looked up with a light coo as he saw Ash approaching him, the bird tilted his head with an expression that seemed to say. "What the heck is this idiot doing?"

"Hello Pidgey, be nice and still..." Ash gently cooed out, Pidgey started flapping his wings as he attempted his escape. "Oh no you don't!" Ash leaped out and grabbed Pidgey only for the bird to slip right out of his grasp as it took to the skies above!

"Pidgey!" It cooed out before flying over the horizon.

"Pika!" Pikachu rolled onto his back and began laughing, Ash cast him a light glare as he picked himself off his feet and began looking for another Pokemon. He noticed his backpack moving out of the corner of his eye resulting in him quickly running towards it to discover a male Nidoran whose face was currently buried in a bag of chips!

"Hey those are my favorite!" Ash attempted to grab at the bag only to pause when he realized how dangerously close Nidoran's horn was to the bag. He swiftly reached for a ketchup bottle before slowly backing away as he didn't want to risk getting struck with the Pokemon's poisonous horn! He then turned and began waving the ketchup bottle in front of Pikachu, catching the mouse's attention as his eyes turned to hearts and locked onto the bottle!

"Pika..."

"This is yours if you use Thunder Shock on that Nidoran!" Ash hated having to bribe him but what else could he do? Pikachu gave a swift nod as his cheeks began sparking shortly before he blasted Nidoran with a light dose of electricity! Nidoran let out a cry as electricity surged through his veins, the Pokemon's legs collapsed beneath him as he laid on his side with his face still buried in the chip bag.

"Alright let's make this catch official!" Ash grabbed at an empty Pokeball and threw it towards Nidoran, the ball opened up as it close and absorbed the downed Poison type in a beam of red light before landing on the ground where it started to shake back and forth. Ash clenched his fists as he watched the ball move back and forth several times before eventually chiming out to announce the capture complete!

"Alright we just caught Nidoran!"

"Nidoran the Poison Pin Pokemon, small but brave this Pokemon will hold its ground and even risk its life in battle to protect the female it's friendly with!" The Rotom Phone chimed out from his pocket as Nidoran's data was registered.

"Good work Pikachu!" Ash turned to Pikachu whose eyes were locked onto the ketchup bottle that he still held within his hand. Ash let out a sigh before tossing it towards him. "Have at it!"

"Pika!"

Chloe was carefully examining the wildlife around her as she tried to identify a potential partner for her and Eevee. At first a Spearow caught her attention but she quickly waved off the idea as Spearow's species didn't seem right for her personality wise.

"Evoi!" Eevee eagerly pointed towards a wild Rattata with her paw.

Chloe looked towards the Rattata and smiled lightly before shaking her head. "Let's leave that one alone, Eevee." It wouldn't make much sense for both her team members to be Normal types, if a Ghost type attacked then they'd be quite limited on what they could do to it. Besides it felt like a Pokemon that Ash probably caught and having two Rattata running around would just make things confusing!

Her eyes soon set upon the female variant of Nidoran and a smile crossed her face shortly afterwards. She remembered that Ash and Gary both showed interest in owning a Nidoking so there was a good chance that Ash didn't capture the female variant.

"Alright Eevee let's start off with Tackle!"

"Evoi!" Eevee began charging at Nidoran before her pelt suddenly became engulfed in a fiery inferno. Chloe let out an alarmed gasp and quickly shot around to see if a Fire type had sneaked up on them but nobody was around apart from her, Eevee and Nidoran! Eevee's fiery cloak body slid against Nidoran's and pushed the Pokemon across the field, Nidoran let out a cry upon being struck and as soon as her body stopped sliding across the floor she immediately collapsed to her side with swirls in her eyes as she laid in defeat.

Chloe's jaw dropped as she looked from Eevee to Nidoran then back to Eevee as she wondered what the heck just happened?!

"Evoi!" Eevee raced back towards Chloe and leaped on up into her arms before nuzzling her as she uttered out a cute cry. Chloe flashed Eevee a light smile and quickly reached for an empty ball before throwing it towards Nidoran and as the ball flew through the air, she pulled the Rotom Phone out of her pocket and scanned Eevee as she was quite curious as to what exactly that attack was.

"Eevee's attacks are Tackle, Sand Attack and bzzzt. Attack unknown."

Chloe tilted her head at the Rotom Phone's response and turned back to Eevee as she tilted her head once more. "Where did you learn that?"

Eevee merely looked up at her with a cute smile. "Evoi!" She cried out. Chloe looked thoughtful for a moment before being brought back to reality as her Rotom Phone chimed out.

"Nidoran the Poison Pin Pokemon, a mild-mannered Pokemon that does not like to fight. Beware it's small horn secretes venom!"

"Well Eevee it looks like we've just made ourselves another friend!"

"Evoi!" Eevee cried out before affectionately nuzzling her trainer once more.

"A Spearow, this is perfect! I may have lost my chance on Pidgey but I won't fail here, Nidoran I choose you!" Ash threw forward the ball containing his newest capture only to immediately sweat as Nidoran's stomach was bloated due to filling himself up with Ash's chips. The Poison type laid on his side and snored as he appeared to be in no shape to battle at the current moment. Ash let out a frustrated sigh and turned to face Pikachu who was still drinking away at the ketchup bottle that Ash had given him.

Ash returned Nidoran to his Pokeball and shook his head lightly as he pondered what to do before a light bulb went off in his head. He remembered that people in the Fuchsia City's Safari Zone often threw rocks to distract Pokemon long enough for them to throw a Safari Ball at them, perhaps he could do the same here? Ash quickly looked around for a small pebble before picking it up and throwing back his arm as he prepared to throw it, the rock soared threw the air as it made it's way towards Spearow. A smile crossed Ash's face as it looked as if it'd hit the area behind Spearow and would hopefully distract Spearow long enough for him to strike with a Pokeball! Unfortunately it turned out Ash misjudged his aim as it hit Spearow right on his forehead! The rock fell off and left a rather large lump as Spearow's eyes began watering.

"Spearow..." It cried out.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-!" Ash quickly tried apologizing to Spearow.

"Spearow!" The bird screeched out to the skies. Everything seemed to go silent around Ash as he felt what had to be a hundred different pair of eyes locked onto him. Ash slowly glanced around and saw hundreds of Spearow perched on the trees, rocks and bushes all around him with quite the ticked off expressions! "Spearow!" Spearow waved his wing as he pointed towards Ash, ordering the other Spearow to attack.

"Spearow!"

"Spearow!"

"Spearow!" The Spearow all proceeded to lunge at Ash resulting in him quickly ducking as he ran towards Pikachu whom the Spearow were also assaulting, grabbing at the electrical mouse and pulling him into his arms as he started racing towards Pallet Town before briefly pausing.

"Wait Chloe's that way..." Ash clenched his fists and quickly turned as he didn't want to drag Chloe into danger.

"Spearow?!" The Spearow let out brief gasps of alarm as Ash quickly turned and raced right through them.

"Spearow!" The leader Spearow cried out as he pointed forward with his wing. "Spearow!" The Spearow all turned and quickly resumed the chase as they lunged at Ash and pecked at his back! Ash flinched and grunted out as he continued racing on ahead, Pikachu glanced up towards his trainer with a mixture of concern and guilt. Ash raced straight through the route and ran as fast as his legs would carry him, of course this meant that he wasn't fast enough to stop himself from rushing right over an edge and into the rushing river below!

"Aah!" Ash felt his feet running through the air for a brief second before he and Pikachu dropped down into the water, Ash held tightly onto Pikachu as the two disappeared beneath the water's surface and were carried downstream. They had to be taken at least a mile or two downstream making Ash feel relatively safe as he dragged himself and Pikachu out of the water and back onto shore, his heart briefly stopped as he heard the familiar cries of the Spearow as they appeared over the horizon! "Geez don't they give up?!" Ash frustratingly shouted out before picking Pikachu back up as he continued running ahead, his legs were starting to give out after awhile and his breath grew more heavy as well. It wouldn't be much longer before he collapsed and to make things worse another thunderstorm appeared seemingly out of nowhere, he could swear he heard a loud bird screech for a moment as the rain began pouring down on top of them all. Ash continued racing on ahead but would soon find himself tripping on account of the mud resulting in him falling face first into the mud, Pikachu flew out of his arms and rolled across the mud before coming to a halt several feet away from his trainer as the Spearow were quickly closing in.

"Spearow!" The leader cried out as their attention was now focused on Pikachu, the Spearow began quickly swooping down towards him before Ash quickly leaped to his feet and stood in front of his partner with his arms stretched out to his sides as he stood defensively in front of Pikachu.

"Spearow leave Pikachu alone, it's me your after!" He shouted out.

"Pi?" Pikachu noticed his Pokeball landed in front of him, the electrical mouse slowly raised his head to look up at Ash who glanced back for a brief moment.

"Pikachu get inside, I know you hate it in there but it's for your own good! Leave this to me, I'll take care of them!"

"Pika..." Pikachu lowered his head as he looked at the ball before looking back up towards Ash. The mouse clenched his fists before leaping up onto Ash's shoulder and quickly throwing himself up into the air in front of him. A huge wave of water formed beneath Pikachu as Ash's jaw dropped.

"Y-You know Surf?!" Though it looked different as sparks of electricity filled the wave, the wave only growing bigger by the second due to the heavy rainstorm as electricity heavily surged throughout the wave!

"Pika pika!" Pikachu appeared to be riding a surfboard as he rode the large wave, bringing it down upon the massive Spearow flock as all of them were hit with the electrified wave!

"Spearow!" They all cried out before dropping to the ground like flies as they fell into a state of unconsciousness. The leader Spearow stood through the attack the longest with a look of sheer determination in his eye as he kept his gaze locked onto Ash. Spearow kept on slowly moving towards him despite the electricity flowing through him before eventually stopping as his body gave out on him. The downed Spearow landed at Ash's feet, swirls filled his eyes as he let out a groan of defeat.

Ash's eyes were wide as he stared at the downed flock before shifting his eyes towards Pikachu and eventually back at the flock. "W-What just happened...?"

"Pika...?" Pikachu tilted his head as he too looked confused. He didn't even know he could do that, there was just something inside of him telling him to do it! Pikachu then turned to Ash with a light smile before leaping up onto his shoulder and giving his trainer a light lick as if he was trying to apologize for being such a jerk.

"Don't worry about it Pikachu, I'm just glad the two of us are okay..." Ash smiled as he lightly stroked Pikachu behind the ears.

"Chaaa!" Pikachu cried out before his ears twitched.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu quickly pointed upwards as a loud bird screech could be heard, this was different from before however or at least it sounded different. Ash looked up and saw a rather large orange phoenix Pokemon flying through the sky above them, the sky clearing up as a rainbow followed the phoenix Pokemon as it moved through the sky.

"W-What is that?" Ash gasped out.

"Pika..." Pikachu looked up, his eyes glowing as they locked onto the beautiful bird. He had no idea what it was either but it sure was beautiful!

"Ho-oh the Rainbow Pokemon. No information is known as nobody's seen this Pokemon for thousands of years!"

"Ho-oh!" The bird screeched out as it spread out it's wings, a feather came loose and slowly drifted down from the sky before landing in front of Ash and Pikachu. Ash quickly raced to pick it up and examined it before looking up at Ho-oh with a look of determination. Him encountering a rare Pokemon like this on the first day of his journey just had to be a sign!

"Just you wait Ho-oh, I will become a World Champion someday and then I won't rest until our paths cross again!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu chimed in as he clenched his fists alongside his trainer. Ash turned to look at Pikachu with a shocked expression.

"Y-You mean it Pikachu? You're willing to fight alongside me?!"

"Pika!" Pikachu held out his fist as if to ask his trainer for a fist bump.

"Alright!" Ash bumped his fist against Pikachu's as a large smile spread across his face. "Looks like I was wrong Pikachu, we became best friends within a single day!"

"Pika!" Pikachu cried out. Though his smile paused as he glanced towards the downed Spearow, some of which began raising up as they recovered. "Pika pi?!"

"Oh right we should probably get go-"

"Pika!" Pikachu snapped his fingers before pointing towards the leader, he then pointed towards Ash's belt while stretching out his face to mimic Spearow's as he waved his arm.

"Your saying that if we catch the leader then the rest will likely leave us alone?" Pikachu quickly nodded while flashing him a thumbs up.

"Pika!"

"Alright then, time to throw a Pokeball!" Ash grabbed at an empty ball and swiftly threw it at the Spearow that started it all. Spearow disappeared in a red beam of light causing the recovering Spearow to all pause and watch as the ball began shaking back and forth. Ash and Pikachu clenched their fists as they watched and let out loud sighs of relief as the ball chimed out to announce the capture.

"Spearow the Tiny Bird Pokemon, Spearow has a very loud cry that can be heard over half a mile away. If its high, keening cry is heard echoing all around, it is a sign that they are warning each other of danger!"

The Rotom Phone chimed out as Ash retrieved it from his pocket once more. The other Spearow quickly turned tail and flew off upon their leader's capture.

"Spearow!"

"Spearow!"

"Alright let's see if the Pokedex knows anything about that move you used..." Ash held the Rotom Phone up towards Pikachu and proceeded to scan him.

"Pikachu's attacks are Quick Attack, Thunder Shock and-bzzzt! Attack unknown."

"Well that's strange, wonder if it got damaged when we fell in the water?" Ash turned to Pikachu who shrugged in response.

Chloe and Eevee looked up to the sky and saw a large wave of electrified looking water in the distance with what appeared to be a yellow blur riding atop it.

"You don't think that's Ash and Pikachu do you? I thought they were back there." Chloe glanced behind her before looking to the distance as she narrowed her eyes. Her gut was saying that it was Ash even though she couldn't figure out how he got so far ahead of her. "Come on, let's go see."

"Evoi!" The two raced on ahead and soon spotted Ho-oh flying through the skies above. Chloe paused as for once it was a Pokemon that she didn't know of! She retrieved the Rotom Phone from her pocket and scanned it.

"Ho-oh huh? I wonder what it's doing all the way out here."

"Evoi!" Eevee cheerfully cried out.

"Yeah it sure is beautiful..." Chloe gazed after the phoenix Pokemon as it soared over the horizon. "It'd be cool to meet it properly but I don't see the odds of that being high." She placed the Rotom Phone carefully back into her pocket before her and Eevee continued racing on ahead, eventually catching up with Ash. She noticed a rather large flock of Spearow retreating from the area resulting in her tilting her head in a cute manner.

"Ash, what's going on here?"

Ash sweated lightly as he held the rainbow feather in one hand and Spearow's Pokeball in the other.

"I guess I do owe you an explanation..."

"Pika." Pikachu chuckled alongside his trainer causing Chloe to raise her eyebrow as the two appeared to have grown quite close within a short period of time!

"You seriously threw a rock at it?" Chloe narrowed her eyes as she released a sigh. "Ash you know that only makes Pokemon mad right? Plenty of people have been stampeded by ticked off Rhyhorn and Rhydon on account of them pulling that exact stunt!"

"Yeah well my Nidoran was bloated from the snacks he'd stolen and Pikachu wasn't willing to listen so I was limited on my options. That won't happen again though as Pikachu and I are buddies now, right Pikachu?!"

"Pika!" Pikachu pumped his fist in comfirmation as Chloe uttered a light giggle before turning her gaze towards the rainbow feather.

"That sure looks beautiful, I wish I had one." Chloe sighed out with a light smile.

"If you want it then you can have it, I bet it'd look great in your hair!" Ash exclaimed as he held it out to her in an offering manner. It'd just collect pocket lint otherwise.

"Y-You sure? I mean you'll probably never get another one..." Chloe gave him a cautious look only for him to wave it off with a warm smile.

"I don't care, I already promised Ho-oh that we'd meet once I become a World Champion! Pikachu and I won't rest until we track it down, right buddy?!"

"Pika!"

Chloe smiled at their determination and didn't have the heart to say that it was likely they'd never even see it again. She took the rainbow feather from Ash's hand before carefully placing it in her hair, she glanced up as if to try and get a good luck at it before tilting her head as she turned back to look at Ash. "How does it look?"

"It looks great, it really suits you!" Chloe couldn't help but blush lightly at Ash's words.

"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu nodded in agreement while Eevee uttered out a cute cry of her own.

Chloe smiled at the two of them before looking back towards Ash. "You think we should continue? We've already made great progress and should be in Viridian City by nightfall!" Though Viridian City was quite close to Pallet Town, the rest of the cities and towns were quite spread out and would take awhile to travel through while on foot.

"Of course, my team's in need of a check up so it wouldn't be right to continue catching Pokemon or attempt at tracking down a rival trainer." Ash chuckled before his eyes went wide as he suddenly remembered something. "Chloe, something odd happened with Pikachu when we were alone..."

"Really? I thought I noticed something weird," Chloe scratched the bottom of her chin. "Something strange happened with Eevee too!" The two looked at each other in shock and began filling each other in on what happened as they made their way north towards Viridian City!

Yeah so Ash's Pokemon won't be a complete match to his canon team. He'll have new additions but some will also match his canonical team. Still never giving him a Lucario though as it's just overdone in fanfiction.

And yeah Misty's not going to be a companion, I just didn't see a point to her being around.

"Also will this story be uploaded constantly or take a while to come out with new chapters?" At least once a week!

"So, does that mean Serena is lost in that forest forever?" No, she got out. I'm not making anything concrete yet as Kalos is too far away and right now I only have plans for a trilogy. Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. Orange League will be part of this story.

"Wonder if it's true that if those two kiss everyday a Mew will bless their relationship." Heh... maybe!

Anyways hope you all enjoy, until next time!
