Pokemon Center Emergency

"Viridian City at last, just you wait Gym Leader it won't be long before Pikachu and I come to collect our first Gym badge!"

"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu cried out alongside his trainer while Chloe narrowed her eyes as she shot them a glance.

"Seriously? We just left Pallet Town this morning and you're already rushing to battle a Gym Leader?"

"Of course, Gary and Leaf probably already collected the badge and I can't afford to fall behind!" Ash exclaimed while Pikachu gave a light nod as he stood on his trainer's shoulder.

"Pika pi!"

"I-We don't know anything about this Gym, you can't just go rushing in without a plan!" Though Chloe could see that her words weren't going to win Ash over as his look didn't change in the slightest, she knew him long enough to know that once he had his mind set on something it'd be very difficult to change his mind.

"That's what makes it so exciting, who knows what the Gym Leader is like?!" Ash excitedly exclaimed while he lightly shook from excitement. Though they had been to Viridian City before, they never met the Gym Leader as whoever it was seemingly kept to themselves and rarely exited the Gym. They didn't even know the type specialty let alone rather or not the Gym Leader was a man or a woman. Ash had tried sneaking in once but found himself thrown out by the Gym Leader's assistant, a big bulky figure named Cliff.

"Well I guess I can't stop you," Chloe sighed out as this appeared to be a lesson that Ash would have to learn on his own but better it happened sooner rather than later, him and Gary were both guilty of being too cocky at times and that almost always ended up biting them in their butts!

"We'll head there as soon as we heal up the Pokemon and check in with the Professor, I wanna see if he knows what that move Pikachu used is called."

"If anyone does know then it'd be him," Chloe agreed with a light nod. She too was curious as to what the moves were, they resembled Surf and Flame Charge but were completely different moves altogether! The pair headed towards the Pokemon Center in order to heal up their Pokemon however when they got there Chloe couldn't help but tense up as something seemed off about Nurse Joy, something about her was different than usual but she just couldn't place it. The uniform was the same as it'd always been and the nurse's pink hair had the same curly pigtail hairstyle she always had.

"Hey Nurse Joy!" Ash greeted her with a friendly wave as he wasn't as observant as Chloe was. "Chloe and I started our journey yesterday and now we've come to heal up our Pokemon, and I'm gonna challenge the Viridian Gym once you're done with that!"

"Pika pi!" Pikachu chimed in from Ash's shoulder.

"And this is Pikachu, my starter!"

"Well I'll be happy to heal him if you place him in his Pokeball," Nurse Joy spoke with a smile though it was different than usual as it lacked it's warm friendly look and felt more forced. "After all we can't place him on the machine otherwise!"

"That's not true..." Chloe spoke causing Nurse Joy to tense up. "My Eevee hates her Pokeball too so I took the liberty of reading up on this as we made our way here, all Pokemon Centers have a machine that can heal Pokemon from outside their Pokeball. It's designed with wild Pokemon in mind but on rare occasions domesticated or trained Pokemon utilize them as well."

Nurse Joy began panic sweating as she flashed Chloe a nervous look. "T-That true? It must have slipped my mind... I-I'll take those two into the back then, sorry for the confusion."

"What happened to your blue eyes?" Chloe continued on as she lightly tilted her head. "You and all the other Nurse Joy have pink hair and blue eyes yet yours are green..."

"Eek!" Nurse Joy quickly turned and raced into the back.

"Well that wasn't suspicious at all..." Chloe narrowed her eyes before glancing at Ash. "I know we're not supposed to go back there but on this one occasion I think we should break that rule, something is definitely afoot here."

"Evoi!" Eevee cried out with a flick of her tail.

"You're telling me..." Ash noted as he noticed a rather unusually long line of trainers waiting for their Pokemon to be returned. Leaf and Gary weren't present but Damian and his friends were there.

"Man what's taking that lady so long, doesn't she know that I'm the future champion?! I should have my Pokemon healed up right away!"

"Right you are Damian!"

"She's a fool, Damian!"

"How did we not notice that coming in?" Chloe lightly sweated before putting on a serious look. "There is no way the line should be that big, the power's not off and there's not any medical supply shortages so something else is holding things up and I'm pretty sure that imposter knows what's up!"

"That teenage girl saw right through my disguise, I knew you should have played the nurse role!" Nurse Joy ripped off her wig and threw it aside revealing a man with short violet colored hair. He didn't appear to be that much older than Ash and Chloe, possibly in his early twenties at the most. His partner had long magenta colored that curled up in an arch, she made a look of disgust as her eyes locked onto the nurse's heels that her partner currently wore.

"In those heels? Please I wouldn't be caught dead in those!"

"But you went to nursing school, didn't you Jessie?" A Meowth appeared to speak as he finished tying a net full of Pokeballs to balloon basket.

"Yes but those heels were so last season!" Jessie stuck out her tongue.

"What do we do about those kids? That girl is probably getting Officer Jenny right now!"

"You worry too much James, we can just leave right now and get away before she even gets here!" Jessie laughed.

"Right, I'll fire up the balloon!" Meowth raced over to the balloon and began firing it up right as Ash and Chloe ran out the backdoor and noticed the two thieves standing next to a net full of stolen Pokeballs!

"Hey you're thieves!" Ash angrily shouted out.

"Pika pika!" Pikachu's cheeks angrily sparked as he glared at Jessie and James.

"Ash take a closer look at the old lady's uniform, they're clearly Team Rocket!" Chloe looked a bit unnerved as she wondered if perhaps they were getting in over their heads here.

"Just who are you calling old?!" Jessie's eye twitched as she flashed Chloe a murderous look. "Ekans teach that twerp some manne-"

"Jessie wait, you forgot our motto!" James cried out as he grabbed hold of the woman's arm.

"Oh that's right, well I suppose her destruction can wait a minute." Jessie let out a light cough before throwing out her arm as she broke into song. "Prepare for trouble you twerps are in over your heads!"

"And make that double cause your Pokemon will soon be ours." James smirked.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all people within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"And James!" They two posed back to back as they cast the twerps a light smirk.

"Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth that's right!" Meowth leaped out in front of them as he posed alongside them.

"D-Did that Meowth just talk?!" Chloe asked with a startled tone.

"Indeed I did, perhaps I'll tell ya the story sometime but not today!" Meowth smirked as he looked up at his friends. "We're ready to move out!" He motioned towards the balloon which had now filled and taken the shape of a Meowth, he was definitely the face of the trio.

"Not if I have anything to say about it, Pikachu use Thunder Shock!"

"Pika!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked in a threatening manner as he locked his eyes onto the Rocket trio.

"You're seriously going to just zap us?! We haven't even sent out Pokemon yet!" James cried out.

"Ekans teach these twerps some manners!"

"You too Koffing!"

"Ekans!"

"Koffing!" The two Poison types burst from their Pokeballs and appeared to be well taken care for despite being owned by members of Team Rocket, they looked quite healthy and rather cheerful rather than the cold ferocious looking Rocket Pokemon that Ash and Chloe had seen on newscasts! Chloe tilted her head for a brief moment before shrugging.

"Eevee use that flame attack you did before!"

"Evoi?" Eevee cutely tilted her head as she looked up at her trainer.

"How about... Sizzly Slide?" Chloe tried coming up with a name for the attack but it was hard doing so on the spot.

"And you use Splishy Splash!" Ash shouted out as the Rocket trio and their Pokemon all took a moment to tilt back their heads and laugh at the silly attack names.

"Sizzly Slide and Splishy Splash? Oh you two are so cute together!" Jessie laughed.

"When did you come up with those names, back when you were ten?!" James laughed.

"More like five!" Meowth rolled across the floor as he loudly laughed before coming to a sudden halt as he noticed a massive wave of electrified water about to pour down on them. He gulped and quickly ran to hide behind Jessie and James, the water came crashing down and splashed over the three giving them along with their Pokemon quite the electrifying shock!

Eevee's fur became coated in flame as she slid across the ground, barreling right through Team Rocket as she sent them flying into the air before they'd all land within the balloon basket with dazed looks spread across their faces.

"Now finish this with Thunder Shock!"

"Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he fired off the small electrical blast, the electricity sparked up the balloon's engine resulting in an explosion that sent Team Rocket along with their Pokemon blasting up into the air like rockets!

"W-What on earth did they feed that Pikachu and Eevee?!" Jessie shouted as they flew through the air.

"I've never seen an attack so powerful, we didn't even stand a chance!" James exclaimed.

"Well that just means that we've found a perfect target, if we nab that Pikachu and Eevee then the Boss will set us up for promotion! We'll be top Rocket executives in no time!" Meowth smirked.

"But for now it looks like Team Rocket is blasting off!" The three cried simultaneously before disappearing over the horizon.

"Splishy Splash, seriously?" Chloe asked as she turned to face Ash.

"Says the girl who named her attack Sizzly Slide!" Ash smirked while Chloe looked away as she blushed from embarrassment.

"L-Let's just free the Pokemon!"

"Oh Sandshrew I'm so happy to see you again!"

"Sandshrew!" The trainer and Pokemon cried tears of joy as they hugged one another while similar acts happened around them.

"Char, Charmander!" Charmander raced towards Damian only to feel himself get kicked away from his leg. "Chaaaar!" Charmander cried out as he flew towards the air before landing on his rear with a pained expression as tears flowed through his eyes.

"That's what you get for losing and making me look like a fool! Losing to a girl, pathetic!" Damian growled.

"Hey I saw that!" Ash growled out before quickly getting in Damian's face as the two locked eyes with one another, giving each other a harsh glare. "You can't just do that to your partner, I'm sure he tried his best! There's no need to abuse him, there's never a need for it!"

"Pikachu pika pika!" Pikachu chimed in with a growl of his own as his cheeks sparked with electricity.

"Watch it Ketchum, Charmander is my Pokemon therefore I can do whatever I like! I was merely putting him in his place, he needs to learn that there is no room for losers on my team!"

"Yeah, no losers!"

"Damian's the best!"

"I ought to teach you a lesson!" Ash growled out as he balled up his fist. Chloe let out an alarmed gasp before she quickly grabbed at his arm and pulled him away.

"Don't do it Ash, you'll get your trainer license revoked if you openly assault a fellow trainer like that! You'll have to report him to Officer Jenny, it's sad but there's nothing that you can do without making the situation worse."

Damian stuck out his tongue at Ash as he gave Charmander another kick before returning him to his Pokeball, pocketing it as he left the Pokemon Center alongside his friends.

"Come on, let's call the Professor. That ought to get your mind off of things," Chloe dragged Ash over to the old computer phones, they weren't as publicly utilized as they used to be, Rotom Phones had made them generally useless especially as most trainers didn't even catch more than six Pokemon so they didn't need to contact their local Pokemon Professor much. Chloe typed in the number to Oak's laboratory and the screen lit up shortly after it began ringing to reveal the face of Professor Oak!

"Ash and Chloe what a marvelous surprise, have you captured plenty of Pokemon? I can only assume that you're calling to offload some Pokemon as you only left this morning!" Oak laughed before giving Ash an eager grin. "So how many Pokemon did you catch?! Gary thought you wouldn't catch more than two or three and I bet him a million Pokedollars that you'd have a full team by the time you got to Viridian City!"

Ash sweated nervously as he shot Chloe a brief glance. "Well money's not everything right?"

Oak hung his head as he uttered a light groan.

"B-But we did encounter Ho-oh!"

"Ho-oh you say?" Oak immediately perked up as his eyes were now glued to the screen. "You sure that's what you saw? Nobody's seen one in thousands of years!"

"Just ask the Pokedex!" Ash and Chloe both held up their Rotom Phones to showcase Ho-oh being registered as 'seen'.

"Well there's no possible way that both your Rotom Phones malfunctioned." Oak rubbed his chin in thought before he noticed the rainbow colored feather in Chloe's hair. "Aha, that proves it! You really did encounter Ho-oh, I must say I'm quite jealous! My entire life I always dreamed of encountering a legendary Pokemon like that but never found myself fortunate enough. You two really are something, meeting Mew when you were eight years old then encountering Ho-oh eight years later... that's some luck!"

"Who met Ho-oh?" Rex asked as he stepped into view onscreen though he'd soon have his answer as his eyes landed on Ash.

"Hey there Rex, how's it going?!" Ash grinned as he gave the champion a wave and an eager smile. "It won't be long before the two of us battle, isn't that exciting?!"

Rex's eye twitched as he stared off into the distance. "Yes... so exiting..." He clenched his fists for a brief moment before forcing a smile on his face. "So you two have arrived in Viridian City perfectly safe? Nothing happened on your way there?"

"Well Pikachu and I did start getting along, he didn't like me at first but after attempting to save him from a flock of angry Spearow the two of us practically became best friends!"

"Pi Pikachu!"

"You should have seen it though, Pikachu utilized this strange attack! It was like Surf but there was electricity flowing through the wave!"

"And Eevee utilized a move that resembled Flame Charge but she slid across the ground and her Speed didn't appear to be affected." Chloe noted while Rex's eyes began to twitch again.

"W-What?!"

"My that is quite the remarkable discovery!" Oak exclaimed as he leaned closer to the screen. "I'd love to see those moves in person sometime! I've never heard of these moves but they sound quite remarkable!" Ash and Chloe were visibly disappointed that the Professor didn't appear to know anything on the strange attacks.

"Well perhaps we'll meet somewhere on the road, I don't think Ash is willing to go back home anytime soon." Chloe lightly sweated as Ash shook his head.

"Nope, we're gonna go to the Viridian City Gym and earn my first badge!" Chloe tensed up at that and forced a smile on her face as she didn't see a point in arguing with Ash on the matter.

"Viridian City Gym? Well good luck, I've never met the guy in charge since it was after my reign as champion but I've heard that he's quite the powerful trainer and only accepts battles from trainers with at least six Gym badges to their name." Oak stated.

"Well I'll make him see things my way, I won't leave until he accepts my challenge!" Ash stubbornly declared as Pikachu pumped his fists alongside his trainer.

"Pika!"

"Well then I'll wish you good luck," Oak chuckled. "And may I recommend packing a lot of Repel? Viridian Forest is crawling with Bug type Pokemon and it can be quite terrifying to wake up and find yourself covered in Bugs!"

"I'll keep that in mind," Chloe said as she made a mental note of that, she didn't have anything against Bugs but the thought was admittingly terrifying! "See ya Professor and say hello to my father for me!"

"And good luck with your research!"

"Will do, you two stay safe now you hear?" Oak waved before turning off his screen. He shifted his gaze towards Rex who'd grown notably quiet. "You've gone awfully quiet, is everything okay?"

Rex's eyes twitched as he slowly nodded his head. "Y-Yeah... I just remembered I needed to speak with... Bruno! Urgent matter, I need to get going now!" Rex turned and quickly made his leave while Oak stared after him with a concerned look.

Ash and Chloe began approaching the Viridian City Gym before the doors suddenly opened as Cliff stepped out, his arms crossed as he glared down at Ash. "You again? How many times do I have to tell you to get lost?!" He growled as he cracked his knuckles.

"How many times have you tried sneaking in there?" Chloe narrowed her eyes while Ash silently sweated before calmly holding up his Rotom Phone.

"Relax Cliff, I'm a trainer now and that means I can officially challenge your boss to a battle!" Cliff threw back his head and immediately laughed upon hearing Ash's words.

"You? Are you serious?! You don't even have a single Gym badge, how on earth do you expect to beat him in a Pokemon battle?"

Ash clenched his fists as he cast Cliff a frustrated look. "The League rules state that once you're challenged to a battle you're unable to refuse unless there's an emergency or medical condition preventing you from battling, do you really want them to think your boss is a coward by refusing my challenge? It's considered quite dishonorable." Ash lightly smirked.

Cliff's eye twitched. "How dare you insult the great Giovanni, he's no chicken! He's the strongest trainer outside of the Elite Four and I demand you show him the respect that he deserves!" The man roared out.

"Cliff there's no need for anger, I accept his challenge." A well dressed individual in a black suit walked out of the Gym, his short brown hair neatly combed while his black eyes appeared to be looking Ash over. "After all it's only fair that I reward his persistence on trying to find out my identity all these years. Come young Ketchum, let's have a battle!"

"Y-You know who I am?" Ash questioned before quickly following Giovanni as he waved him into the Gym.

"Of course, I knew your father and your his splitting image!" Giovanni lightly smirked. "I wonder if you inherited his battling experience or not." The man led the way to the battlefield where a woman with short red hair stood to the side, chatting it up with a well dressed individual in a white suit. The man's hair was a rather unusual shade of aqua blue.

"Ariana dear, would you please excuse me for a bit?" Giovanni asked before pecking the woman's cheek, Ariana looked Ash over before giving Giovanni an odd look.

"You sure you want to waste your time on him? It looks like he'll be demolished in seconds!" She hissed.

"Don't question his methods, I'm quite interested in seeing this for myself." The blue haired individual spoke with a calm calculative voice as his eyes locked onto Ash. "He's the son of Red Ketchum, you shouldn't dismiss him so easily."

Ariana shrugged. "Whatever Archer," She turned and headed into the backroom while Archer stood to the side and acted as referee as Ash and Chloe entered the room and took their place on the rivaling side of the field from Giovanni.

Giovanni cast Ash a light smirk. "I'll only use one Pokemon, you just hit me with whatever you got! If you can beat me than I'll give you the Earth Badge!"

"Only one Pokemon? This'll be cake! Spearow I choose you!"

"Spearow!" Spearow burst from his ball and immediately assaulted Ash, pecking furiously at his face while Chloe shot off an alarmed look as Ash attempted waving Spearow away from his face.

"Spearow what's your problem?! I caught you fair and square!"

"Spearow!" Spearow getting caught didn't appear to put a halt to his grudge on Ash as he looked to be quite ticked off!

Chloe grabbed at Spearow's ball and quickly returned him before offering it back to Ash.

"Thank you..." Ash thanked her before glaring down at the ball containing Spearow. "We'll try this again later," He placed the ball back on his belt before reaching for the one containing Nidoran. "Nidoran I choose you!"

"Nido!" The male Nidoran burst out, his nose twitched for a moment as he shot Chloe a look. "Nido?!"

"Nidoran, what's going on?!" Ash questioned as Chloe lightly sweated.

"I-I think he smells my Nidoran."

Ash let out a sigh. "Okay Romeo, let's focus!"

Giovanni cast an amused smirk as he removed a ball from his belt. "Persian your assistance please!"

"Persian!" The evolved form of Meowth burst out with a loud hiss as he looked down on Nidoran.

"You may have the first attack." Giovanni smirked, having no intent on dodging as he wanted to get an idea on the kid's battling style.

"Poison Sting!"

"Nido!" Nidoran cried out as he began firing multiple darts of purple poison at his target, Persian flinched lightly but beyond that the attack didn't appear to leave a dent on Persian as the feline flashed Nidoran a smirk.

"Persian!" He growled as he licked his lips.

"Shadow Claw!" Persian's claw glowed a ghastly shade of purple and black as he quickly raced across the field before slashing at his opponent, Nidoran instantly collapsed upon impact as swirls filled his eyes.

"Nido..."

"Nidoran return," Ash returned Nidoran to his Pokeball while outside of the Gym the Rocket trio were spying on them with heat sensory goggles.

"Man I hate that Persian but that move sure was cool, I've gotta learn that for myself!" Meowth exclaimed.

"Alright Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash threw out his arm as Pikachu leaped onto the battlefield, his cheeks sparked in a threatening manner as his eyes locked onto the feline.

"Pika!"

"Use Splishy Splash!"

"Huh?" Giovanni raised an eyebrow while Archer tilted his head with a baffled expression as the two wondered what he had in store for them. Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he raised up his hands, summoning up the gigantic wave of electrified water as he rode on top of it. Giovanni's eyes widened from surprise before a smirk crossed his face while Archer calmly began stroking the bottom of his chin as he appeared to be deep in thought. Persian looked up and let out a yowl of terror, the feline turned and made an attempt at escaping but unfortunately found itself at the mercy of the electrified wave! Persian let out a loud yowl as the wave made contact with his fur and even though electricity was surging through his body, the feline seemed much more upset at the fact he got soaked! Persian shook and trembled as he stood soaking in the aftermath, flashing Pikachu a murderous glare while Giovanni examined Persian.

"Fascinating..." He breathed out before shouting. "Persian end this with Shadow Claw!" Persian quickly maneuvered across the field as his claws glowed a ghastly shade of purple once more.

"Dodge with Quick Attack!"

"Pika!" Pikachu attempted to zigzag but unfortunately Persian was just too quick for him! Persian raked his claws down Pikachu's bag causing the electric type to cry out before going limp as he laid in defeat.

"Pikachu!" Ash raced out and scooped Pikachu into arms before quickly exiting the Gym, Chloe following close behind as they raced to heal Pikachu.

"Holy s-That was incredible!" Cliff breathed out.

"Well what do you think?" Archer asked as he looked towards his boss.

"I think it's worth keeping an eye on him in the future, he could be of use to us." Giovanni smirked.

And so the Team Rocket Trio have made their debut! Originally Chloe was going to come up with both attack names but I thought it'd be cute if she and Ash were both awkward on coming up with names.

"I still laugh with the part with Gloria being the Scottish girl she is and hoping for a change of scenery." I love Scottish Gloria as well, it's what spared her from Victor's fate. The male players are all just blank slates apart from Jimmy/Ethan so that's why I chose them.

"Just curious how many people will travel with ash is it 3 or possibly 4" Chapter 2 basically answered that, Brock will join the cast and travel with them. Then Tracey will temporarily bring it to four, then it'll be three until it changes to five when they reach Hoenn. I'm not counting temporary companions like Todd Snapp and Melody

"Will Ash get Greninja before Kalos?" Probably, just not in Kanto. It'd make Ash feel too special if I were to give him Greninja right now and I'd rather avoid falling into that trap. I'd like to have him established as a skilled trainer before Greninja joins, his Pikachu is already pretty special so for now Greninja will wait and let another Water type shine

"You've somehow got me sucked into this story within 2 chapters! Your writing is truly a talent!" Oh my gosh thank you so much, that means a lot!
