Ash and Chloe catch more Pokemon!

A line of trees stretched as far as the eye could see as Ash and Chloe approached Viridian City's forest.

"Viridian Forest, it'll take about a week to get through on foot or a matter of hours if you drive around it." Which made sense as there had to be a way for supplies to reach Pewter City or from common folk to travel to and from both cities.

"So Gary is likely already there battling the Gym Leader," Ash sighed out. Though he much preferred traveling through the region on foot as it allowed him to see more of the region and encounter more trainers and wild Pokemon, there was at least one benefit from driving around like Gary was doing.

"Not necessarily, my father said that Gary's caught quite a few Pokemon already. He owns about twenty different species as of right now." Chloe noted as she put away her map.

"I only own three," Ash clenched his fists for a brief moment before relaxing his grip. There was nothing wrong with keeping a low number of Pokemon as if he caught a large number of Pokemon in every region he visited then there wouldn't be much time for him to raise all of them properly or give them the attention that they deserved. For now he was capturing Pokemon at his own pace but that didn't exactly mean he'd only have ten Pokemon by the time he reached the Indigo League. "Alright Pikachu let's keep an eye out for a Pokemon!"

"Pika!" Pikachu flicked his tail as the two went on alert as the small group began venturing into the forest, Chloe edged closer to Ash as they got further in. The shadows creeping over them as the sunlight became blocked by the trees thick branches created a rather spooky feel to the environment, the fact that she felt as if they were being watched sure didn't help any. Heck she could swear that somebody was following them but whenever she looked back nobody was there!

Ash and Pikachu weren't having much luck so far as it took around an hour for them to find a singular Pokemon, a Caterpie that was fast asleep atop a dead tree stump. It was a rather easy target and thought it felt a bit low throwing a ball at a sleeping target, it felt even ruder to attack it! Ash grabbed at an empty ball and enlarged it before swiftly throwing it across the field at his sleeping target! The ball smacked against Caterpie's body before opening up, Caterpie's body engulfed in a bright red light as he was absorbed into the ball. The ball hit the ground and started shaking back and forth before shortly chiming out to announce the capture a success!

"Alright we just caught a Caterpie!"

"Pi Pikachu!" Pikachu cried out as he posed alongside his trainer atop his shoulder.. Chloe couldn't help sweat lightly as she wondered if they were going to do that every time they captured something.

"Evoi!" Eevee cried out as she cheered them on.

Ash quickly turned to Chloe with a smile as he tilted his head lightly. "You gonna catch anything?"

"Uh no, I think I'm good for now!" Chloe quickly shook her head with a nervous smile. "I don't intend on capturing as many Pokemon as you, not that there's anything wrong with that! I just need to find myself a goal first!"

"Alright then," Ash gave a light shrug before turning to Pikachu. "We should start training Caterpie right away, Butterfree can learn Confusion and that will come in handy at the Pewter Gym!"

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded in agreement as Ash released Nidoran and Caterpie from their Pokeballs so that they could begin training them.

The next day Ash and Chloe continued their progress through the forest, they'd make quite a noticeable amount of progress in regards to traveling and training. Though Pikachu and Caterpie's move sets remained the same, Nidoran had learned Peck and Focus Energy during the duration of the training. Unfortunately there was zero progress in regards to Spearow as the bird Pokemon immediately assaulted Ash upon release and only relented in order to eat! It'd probably take some more time for Spearow to cool his head but Ash wasn't too worried at that moment as Spearow would be sitting out the Pewter City Gym anyways.

"Okay now we've got to find a trainer to battle us!" Ash was quite eager for his first official non-Gym related match, there had to be a few trainers running around as they'd occasionally hear trainers shouting out commands in the distance but it'd be stupid to just blindly race off in search of them as now that they were deeper in the forest, they were getting dangerously close to Beedrill turf. Beedrill were easy enough to handle individually but only a truly experienced trainer could handle an entire swarm of them, even though the Beedrill around these parts weren't heavily experienced as other areas the stings would still hurt and if one got hit too many times? They could potentially die from poison! Sizzly Slide could be beneficial but seeing how Beedrill could fly they could easily maneuver away from Eevee's attack!

"I can't believe that bug catcher cried like a baby when I beat him, he should have known not to mess with me!"

"Yeah Damian, you rock!"

Ash tensed up as he heard Damian and his friends nearby, he quickly grabbed at Chloe's hand and attempted at making an escape before Damian saw him as he wasn't in the mood to deal with him today. Unfortunately Damian stepped around a tree that was directly in front of him, Ash and Chloe narrowed their eyes while Damian put on a gleeful expression as his eyes laid upon the two.

"Oh this is perfect, now I can beat you and show that girl of yours what a true man looks like!"

Chloe let out a frustrated growl. "I thought I told you that I'm not interested in dating you?!"

"You'll change your mind once I beat him," Damian smirked in response while Ash clenched his fists, he didn't like how Damian didn't appear to respect Chloe's feelings. "I'll wipe the floor with him and then you'll be all over me!"

"There's no way I'll lose to you, I'm not gonna let you talk that way about Chloe!" Ash growled as he tightly clenched his fists.

"You're on Ketchup," Damian insulted Ash as he grabbed at a Pokeball. "Weedle let's teach this brat his place!"

"Weedle!"

"Caterpie I choose you!"

"Priii!" Caterpie cooed out as he burst from his ball.

"Poison Sting!" It appeared that Damian hadn't changed and still thought that the best strategy was to blindly attack much like he had during Pokemon Summer Camp!

"Gloria and Sonia take the win!" The brunette Galar native began cheering loudly as Oak announced the results of the competition.

"Yeah suck it, we won!" Her partner didn't seem to share her attitude as she gave Gloria a light glare before respectfully bowing to her competition. Her orange hair was tied into a ponytail and her aqua colored eyes filled with concern as she gave them an apologetic look.

"Sorry about my teammate, you two did great out there!"

"We lost because of me..." A younger brunette girl hung her head in shame, a red bandanna covered the top of her hair. The Hoenn boy who had tackled Damian the day prior placed his hand on the girl's shoulder and offered her smile.

"No harm done, not everyone's cut out to be a battler!" She smiled lightly at his words before following him off the practice field while silently feeling thankful her friend wasn't upset at their loss.

"I'm ready to kick some more butt!" Gloria shouted as she cast a challenging look towards the other students. "Who out there wants ta face a real challenge?!"

"Gloria we already had our turn, show the others respect and let them have theirs." Sonia tried to pull Gloria away but found herself too late as Damian eagerly stepped forward with a smug smirk.

"Please you're just a girl how challenging can you be? You just got lucky is all!"

"Lucky?! I'll show you luck!" Gloria pulled up the sleeves to her jacket and attempted to lunge at him only for Sonia to grab the collar of her jacket.

"Whoa simmer down you two!" Oak quickly raced between the two and spread out his arms so that Gloria couldn't attack Damian for the second time that week. "Trainers often settle their differences or arguments with a Pokemon battle, Glory you already had your turn but if you promise to calm down and not attack Damian then I'll allow you to have a one on one battle with him. Do we have a deal?"

Gloria leaned to the side in order to flash Damian a light glare before she turned her attention back to Oak. "Ya have a deal, gramps! But rest assured ya blue haired snob, I'll still kick yer butt on the battlefield!"

"We'll just see about that!" Damian laughed. The students were using Pokemon from Professor Oak's personal collection, they weren't the ones from his champion roster as those were a bit extreme but over the years Oak had captured quite a few Pokemon simply for research. "Let's go Tauros!"

"Moooo!" Tauros scraped the ground with his hoof as he gazed towards Gloria. Stars filled Ash's eyes at the sight of Tauros.

"A Tauros, I've got to catch one of those someday!"

"Hey Ketchup, watch and see how a pro battles!" Damian flashed Ash a smirk resulting in the raven haired boy emitting a faint growl.

"Kangaskhan, let's kick some more butt!"

"Kanga!" Kangaskhan cried out as she burst from her ball once more.

"Tackle attack!" Damian shouted.

"Mooo!" Tauros charged across the field towards his opponent.

"Fake Out!"

"Kanga!" Kangaskhan clapped her hands together resulting in a massive shockwave bursting out, the attack soared across the battlefield and cancelled out Damian's attack resulting in the boy angrily twitching his eye before hastily shouting out.

"Tackle again!"

"Mooo!"

"Mega Punch!" Kangaskhan pulled back her fist as it began shining a bright blue color before swiftly lunging out as she punched at her opponent, her fist nailing Tauros' head as it charged at her! Tauros let out a grunt, his movement halted for a brief second before he collapsed onto his side with a light grunt as swirls filled his eyes.

"Aha whose lucky now ya punk?!" Gloria laughed before tapping her chest. "Ya should consider yourself lucky that ya lost to me, I'm the future World Champion!"

Damian's eyes twitched as he glared angrily at Tauros before turning his gaze towards Professor Oak. "You gave me a weak Pokemon!"

Professor Oak held up his hands. "I can assure you that all of these Pokemon are equal in level and strength, you just blindly attacked while Gloria utilized Kangaskhan's move set to allow her victory!"

Damian crossed his arms before angrily turning his back to the Professor. "Whatever you say old man,"

"String Shot!"

"Priii!" Caterpie quickly fired a shot of string from his mouth, entangling Weedle within it and slowing the Pokemon's movements before it came to a complete halt as string covered it's entire body! Weedle's tail stopped glowing purple as it shook back and forth in an attempt at escaping Caterpie's prison.

"Now finish this with Tackle!"

"Prii!" Caterpie raced towards and quickly slammed his body against Weedle's, knocking the Pokemon back before it toppled onto it's side in defeat as Damian loudly swore!

"You absolute failure of a Bug type!" Damian angrily kicked Weedle and sent the Bug type flying into some nearby bushes. Ash clenched his fists as he began fighting the desire to punch Damian. Chloe quickly raced off to see if Weedle was okay only for her to let out a shriek as several Beedrill descended from the trees above, possibly hearing Weedle's cry of distress as Damian kicked it!

"Bee!"

"Chloe!" Ash quickly tackled Chloe into a nearby bush while Pikachu picked up Caterpie and quickly hid in a different bush nearby, a blue glow started to surround Caterpie as Pikachu raced off before entirely engulfing their bush in a bright blue light! Luckily for them the Beedrill didn't make an attempt at pursuing them as their eyes turned to Damian and his friends.

"A Beedrill, now's my chance for a powerup! Charma-Aaaah!" Damian and his friends quickly turned tail and ran further into the woods as the Beedrill immediately swarmed in and began stinging them before Charmander could be sent out, sparing Charmander from their angry wrath as they chased Damian and his pals throughout the forest!

Meanwhile Ash was staring down at Chloe while she stared at him, their faces inches apart from each other as their eyes stared directly into the others. Ash couldn't help but blush nervously as he had never been that close to Chloe before, Chloe similarly blushed and thankfully they were spared from prolonging the awkward encounter as the area around them had grown quiet.

"E-Eevee is it safe to go out?" Chloe shook lightly as she asked. Eevee sat next to the two of them, her ears twitched as she tried identifying the location of the Beedrill. The Beedrill's buzzing grew more soft by the second as they distanced themselves from the duo.

"Evoi!" Eevee let out a cry and flicked her tail as she gave them a cute look while assuring them that it was indeed safe to exit.

"Evolution successfully registered. Metapod the Cocoon Pokemon. At this stage it can only harden, so it remains motionless to avoid attack!"

"Caterpie evolved?!" Ash excitedly exclaimed as he quickly leaped to his feet and shot on out of the bush to check up on his Bug Pokemon. Pikachu walked out of a bush across the clearing from them, Metapod in hand as he excitedly chanted out to his trainer.

"Pika pi!"

"You did it Caterpie, you evolved!"

"Pod." Metapod cried out.

"Won't be much longer until you evolve into a beautiful Butterfree!"

"Pi Pikachu!"

"Pod." Metapod's eyes shimmered with excitement as he could just imagine soaring above the treetops beneath the light of the moon!

Ash and Chloe had been traveling through the forest for approximately four days now and had successfully passed through the midway point while unbeknownst to the two of them, the Team Rocket trio had been stalking them ever since they left Viridian City unfortunately for the trio however they had gotten themselves lost!

"I can't believe it, we've lost the twerp!" James groaned out.

"This is all Jessie's fault, if she didn't want to waste an hour putting on makeup then the twerps wouldn't have gotten ahead of us!" Meowth hissed before letting out a shout as Jessie's fist bonked the top of his head.

"I've got to look my best in case a scouting agent sees me and realizes that I'm magazine cover material!"

"What scouting agent? We're in the middle of the fores-Eee!" James cried out as he quickly ducked when Jessie attempted to do the same to him.

"You never know when or where they'll be, they're as rare as a shiny Poke-Oh look, there's one now!" Jessie excitedly pointed towards a pink colored Butterfree as it flew through the air not far off from where they were standing!

"Strange according to my cards a shiny Butterfree's eyes are green and they have pink hands and feet..." James commented as he held up a card with Butterfree's information on it.

"Meowth, we should catch that! No doubt the boss will reward us greatly for catching him a unique form of Pokemon!" Meowth cried out.

"Screw the boss, I'm gonna catch it for myself!" Jessie clenched her fists as stars filled her eyes. "I can take the Contest world by storm if I have a beauty like her by my side, she's as beautiful as yours truly!" Meowth and James flashed each other a glance, eyes narrowed upon hearing those words. "Ekans let's induct her into Team Rocket with Bite!"

"Ekans!" Ekans burst from his ball and lunged towards his target before a green blur shot from the trees above.

"Ko!" A green gecko Pokemon cried out as he slammed his large bushy tail against the snake, Ekans' eyes widened as he let out a pained hiss. The snake reached out and tried snapping at the gecko only for the gecko to swiftly leap up and pound his tail against Ekans once more while Butterfree swiftly made her escape.

"Freee!"

"Kans..." Ekans groaned out as he went limp beneath the gecko.

"No fair!" Jessie clenched her fist before shaking it at the gecko. "What's the big idea, I was gonna catch that Butterfree fair and square!"

"Treecko, treecko!" Treecko placed a twig in his mouth as he calmly stared Jessie down.

"James do something, I don't have anything else!" Jessie growled out as she returned Ekans to his ball.

"Hang on I'm checking my cards," James was quickly shuffling through his Kanto and Johto cards.

Meowth rolled his eyes as he calmly retrieved their own Rotom Phone, unlike Ash and Chloe's this one had a black color scheme while the eyes had a rather lazy unmotivated look to them. "Let's see what the Pokedex has to say!"

"Treecko the Grass starter of... a far away region. It.. you know what? I'm done for today." The Rotom Phone shut itself off.

"A Grass type? Well then this is a job for you, Koffing!" James shouted as he threw Koffing's Pokeball towards Treecko. "Use Sludge!"

"Koffing!" Black sludge spewed out of Koffing's mouth and made it's way towards Treecko but just as Treecko was about to get hit, Butterfree came swooping back and took the hit for him!

"Tree?!" Treecko gasped out as he saw his companion fall to the ground, he then shot his attention back to Team Rocket as his eyes narrowed to slits. "Treecko!" Bullets began firing from his mouth like a machine gun as he relentlessly fired off an attack. The trio let out alarmed shouts and quickly dove to the ground before a miniature explosion went off resulting in the trio along with Koffing to go blasting off into the sky!

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" They cried out before disappearing over the horizon, landing somewhere within the proximity of Pewter City while Treecko quickly rushed to check on his friend.

"Free..." Butterfree looked up at him with a weak expression, her pink face tainted with poison. Treecko let out an alarmed shout as he quickly looked around before carrying Butterfree someplace safe so that he could search for some Pecha berries!

Ash glanced around the forest as he and Chloe continued walking through it, keeping an eye out for potential captures but none were catching his eye at the moment. Pikachu's ear soon twitched as he heard a noise nearby resulting in him turning his head before excitedly chanting as he pointed at a nearby bush where a large green bushy tail was sticking out of it!

"Good eye Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!"

"Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked before he fired a lightning bolt towards the bush, a loud cry could be heard as electricity could be seen surging throughout the bush. Chloe blinked before rubbing her eyes as she could have sworn she saw electricity come from a different direction as Pikachu fired his own electrical bolt. Treecko stumbled out of the bush, dropping his Pecha berries as he fell face first into the dirt in a defeated slump.

"Alright time for a Pokeball!" Ash grabbed at an empty Pokeball and threw it.

"Pokeball go!" Chloe tensed up as she saw a different Pokeball flying towards Treecko right as Ash's did, the ball smacked against each other before dropping into the bush. One opened up and absorbed Treecko into it but it was impossible to tell which it was.

"Alright I just caught whatever that thing is!" Ash apparently hadn't seen that and raced towards the bush to grab at the ball. However once he grabbed it he felt another trainer's hand touching his own, he looked up and noticed what appeared to be a trainer his age wearing samurai attire helmet and all!

"Let go, I caught it!"

"No, I did!"

Chloe narrowed her eyes before she quickly made her way over. "Hold it, you two have Rotom Phones they should know who caught Treecko!"

"That was a Treecko?!" Ash exclaimed with a shocked look. He'd heard of the species but hadn't seen one until today.

"Yeah and I've been following it for days, a Sceptile is a perfect Pokemon for a samurai such as myself so naturally I want one!"

"Well sorry to break it to you but I caught it fair and-square?" Ash held up his Rotom Phone only to see no data registered. He looked towards the Samurai who merely shrugged.

"A samurai has no need for such technology, I'll be taking that Treecko!"

"No way, there's no proof that it was your Pokeball!"

Chloe shifted her eyes between the two as she grew an impatient look. "Ash don't you remember what the Professor said? Instead of fighting like children how about you settle this like Pokemon trainers with a Pokemon battle?"

Ash glanced at Chloe before looking back at the samurai. "I'm always down for a Pokemon battle, how about you mister...?"

"Samurai, call me Samurai. And yes, I accept your challenge." The samurai bowed while Ash and Chloe gave each other a look before shifting their eyes back towards Samurai.

"Is your name seriously Samurai?" Chloe asked.

"Yep, had it legally changed once I became a trainer!" Samurai smirked as he whipped out a paper of certification causing Ash and Chloe to both sweat upon seeing the name 'Samurai McStabberson'. "Metapod let's fight!"

"Metapod I choose you!"

"Pod."

"Pod." The two briefly forgot that Metapod's only attack was Harden.

"Metapod use Harden!"

"You use Harden as well!"

"Pod."

"Pod."

"Harden!"

"Harden!"

Chloe narrowed her eyes as she gave Eevee a look. Eevee tilted her head at the sight while Pikachu silently shook his head. The 'battle' went on for two hours and only ended due to Samurai's Metapod collapsing from exhaustion.

"Alright looks like I won, way to go Metapod!"

"Pod."

Samurai hung his head upon his loss. "Well I'm honorable enough to accept my loss, farewell you two! May our paths cross again!" Samurai turned and quickly raced off back into the woods while Chloe stared after him before looking at Ash.

"I don't think we're gonna see him again."

"Pika." Pikachu nodded in agreement.

Ash's Rotom Phone finally chimed out as Ash picked up the ball containing Treecko.

"Treecko the Wood Gecko Pokemon, Treecko is cool, calm, and collected, it never panics under any situation. If a bigger foe were to glare at this Pokemon, it would glare right back without conceding an inch of ground!"

Chloe looked towards the Pecha berries scattered on the ground around Ash. "That's odd why would he be gathering Pecha berries? He looked perfectly healthy to me." She pondered.

"Well let's ask him!" Ash grinned as he pressed the release button, allowing for Treecko to burst out and be welcome to the team! While everyone had their backs to Metapod a lone Beedrill had flown into the area, this Beedrill wasn't exactly bright as it saw Metapod and tilted it's head before letting out an excitable buzz! Beedrill quickly flew forward and picked Metapod up, Pikachu's ears twitched shortly before the mouse turned around and uttered out an alarmed shout as he saw Metapod being carried away by the Beedrill!

"Pika pi!"

"What is it, Pikachuuu-oh no!" Ash reached out for Metapod's ball and attempted to return it but unfortunately he was now out of reach! "Chloe look after Treecko will you? I'm going after Metapod!"

"Pika!"

"Be careful Ash," Chloe grew a look of concern as she watched Beedrill disappearing into the distance. "He could be taking him to the Beedrill nesting ground."

"I know, I'll be careful. Besides I've got Pikachu with me!" Ash smirked down at the electrical mouse before waving his hand. "Come on Pikachu, we've got a teammate to rescue!"

"Pika!" The two quickly raced off while Chloe dropped to her knees and tilted her head as she began speaking to Treecko, her eyes looking over his body for signs of poison but couldn't pick up on any traces.

"Treecko were you gathering those for a reason? Most Pokemon gather Oran or Sitrus berries for food, you usually don't gather Pecha berries unless you're hurt."

Treecko swiftly nodded before pointing to the east. "Treecko!" He made an attempt to collect the berries but winded up dropping them as his arm began to sting, he held onto it with a light groan. Chloe quickly looked around before heading for a nearby bush, she plucked off a berry before returning and offering it to Treecko.

"That's a Cheri berry, it should help." Treecko gave her an appreciative smile before quickly scarfing it down. "Feel better now?"

"Tree!"

"That's good, how about I carry the berries for you? I'm sure that Ash wouldn't like you going off unattended and whatever it is you need these for probably can't wait for his return." Treecko nodded at Chloe's offer, giving her another appreciative smile before beckoning her with his hand as he guided her towards his friend.

"There's Metapod..." Ash clenched his fists as they were in quite the predicament on account of Metapod being in a tree full of Kakuna, which was surrounded by a massive swarm of Beedrill! Ash knew that he was getting in over his head here but he couldn't just leave Metapod behind! He looked at Pikachu before turning his attention back to the Beedrill, even with Splishy Splash he wasn't sure if they could take on all of the Beedrill. There was one Pokemon that could probably offer his assistance but he was still being stubborn.

"Spearow I choose you!"

"Spearow!" Spearow burst out and gave Ash a heavy glare as he perched atop a nearby bush.

"Spearow our friend Metapod is in danger, once he breaks out of his cocoon they'll realize that he isn't one of them and attack! We could use your help on-Hey where are you going?!" Spearow flew atop a nearby tree branch and turned his back on Ash causing the boy to let out a frustrated sigh before returning the bird to his ball. "We could definitely use a distraction to narrow down the numbers, then we could possibly sneak out there just enough to return Metapod."

Pikachu nodded in agreement while his ears flattened from frustration on Spearow once again refusing to play ball. "Pika..."

"But how would we go about doing that?"

"Outta my way Ketchup!" Damian shoved Ash out of the way as he and his friends came racing on through, the Beedrill swarm apparently still chasing them! The other Beedrill noticed the Beedrill's predicament and all quickly dove forward as they joined in on the pursuit causing Damian and his friends to let out a howl of pain as they were chased by the massive swarm! Thankfully on Ash's part this allowed him to easily reach Metapod as all of the Beedrill were now gone!

"We better step on it, they probably won't be gone for long." Ash hissed out. Pikachu silently nodded in agreement before they creeped forward and as they began zeroing in on Metapod, a series of blue lights engulfed the tree's branches, lighting it up like a Christmas tree as the Kakuna started breaking out of their cocoons! "Nonono!" Ash quickly shifted his gaze between Metapod and the bushes they were previously hiding in. It was an equal amount of distance to both, they could hide but Metapod would be stuck, and if they rescued Metapod they'd get swarmed!

Ash clenched his fists before stubbornly walking forward as he refused to leave Metapod, Pikachu faithfully remained by his trainer's side as the two progressed.

"Bzzz!" The Beedrill burst out from their cocoons and immediately dove towards Ash and Pikachu, pelting the two in a series of stings as they continued making their way to Metapod.

"M-Metapod... w-we won't leave you..."

"P-Pikachuuu!" Pikachu fired off an electrical shock, blasting several Beedrill to the ground but it made little difference as there were just too many of them! Metapod's eyes began shedding a tear before his cocoon glowed bright blue, the cocoon burst open to reveal a beautiful purple Butterfree.

"Freee!" Butterfree's eyes glowed blue as a similar glow surrounded the Beedrill, halting them in place before Butterfree hurled them across the clearing and slammed them against a tree! He then flew over the remaining Beedrill and dropped a shining blue powder on them causing them to instantly fall asleep upon it touching their bodies. A few Beedrill were still coming but Pikachu quickly raised up his arms and summoned the large electrically charged wave, the Beedrill let out an alarmed buzz before the wave came crashing down on top of them! All of the Beedrill laid on the ground in either defeat or in a slumber as Ash threw his fist into the air.

"Alright Butterfree you did it!"

"Pika pi!"

"Freee!" Butterfree landed on Ash's shoulder and nuzzled his head against his. Ash gave Butterfree a light pat before his attention turned back to the Beedrill, he bit his lip as he debated rather or not he should capture one. An enlarged ball soon formed within his hand as he threw it forward, pelting a random Beedrill before absorbing it in a beam of light! The ball shook back and forth before emitting a loud chime to indicate the capture complete!

"Beedrill the Poison Bee Pokemon, Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest for their own safety. If angered they will attack in a furious swarm!"

"Alright we just caught a Beedrill!"

"Pi Pikachu!"

"Freee!" The two Pokemon cried out alongside their trainer before they all tensed up as some Beedrill started to stir, the three quickly turned and quietly made their escape back to where they'd left Chloe and Treecko.

"Treecko!" Treecko pointed frantically at the bush where he'd left the pink Butterfree. Chloe and Eevee quickly made their way over and let out a gasp upon seeing the poisoned Butterfree.

"That's horrible, who could have done such a thing?!" Treecko nervously rubbed his arm. He had to admit he'd been a bit overprotective of his friend, not wanting her to be captured by those Rocket agents. Although they seemed nice, Treecko had been taken from his own home in the Hoenn region by figures in similarly dressed uniforms and he didn't want Butterfree to suffer the same fate.

Chloe placed down the Pecha berries beside Butterfree although one remained in her hand as she held it out in offering to her as she appeared to be too weak to move! "Here you go, this should make the pain go away."

"Eevoi!" Eevee cheerfully cried out as Butterfree offered her a faint smile before she began nibbling at the berry, as the effects of the poison started to die out her movements increased as she hastily scarfed the berry down before progressing to the next berry and then the one after that! Butterfree then looked up and let out an appreciative cry before she flow atop Chloe's shoulder and nuzzled her lightly, Chloe giggled before she gave Butterfree a light pat.

"You're welcome Butterfree, I'm glad that you're okay!"

"Freee!" Butterfree continued to nuzzle Chloe.

"Heh, you really like me huh?" Chloe smiled before shifting her eyes towards her belt. "Butterfree, would you like to join me? I-I may not have a goal as of right now but I'm sure that you'll be a perfect companion for me and Eevee!"

"Eevoi!" Eevee flicked her tail with an excitable look as she gazed up at Butterfree, eagerly awaiting her response!

Butterfree swiftly nodded before letting out another cry. "Freee!"

Chloe reached for an empty Pokeball as a smile crossed her face. "Welcome to the team, Butterfree!"

"Eevoi!" Eevee cheered as Chloe gently tapped Butterfree's head, the Bug type disappeared in a beam of red light but they wouldn't have to wait very long as the Pokeball chimed out almost immediately to indicate the capture!

"Butterfree the Butterfly Pokemon, Butterfree has a superior ability to search for delicious honey from flowers. It can even search out, extract, and carry honey from flowers that are blooming over six miles from its nest!" The Rotom Phone chimed out while Chloe and Eevee stared at the ball containing their newest partner.

"I can't wait to get to know more about you, Butterfree!"

"Eevoi!"

"Treecko!" The Grass type raced back towards Ash before standing faithfully by his side as the two trainers reunited. Chloe let out an alarmed gasp upon seeing the marks on Ash's skin and arms.

"You got stung!" Ash quickly held up his hands.

"No need for alarm, already got it taken care of!" He reassured Chloe. Chloe let out a sigh of relief before her eyes noticed Butterfree sitting atop Ash's shoulder.

"Metapod evolved!"

Ash nodded as he glanced at Metapod with a light smirk. "Just in time to save the day!" He laughed while Chloe narrowed her eyes as she never could understand how Ash could just laugh off danger the way he does.

"Well I just so happened to catch a Butterfree of my own!" Chloe pressed the release button on her ball, allowing for the pink Butterfree to get set free!

"Freee!" The pink Butterfree cried out excitedly as she flew into the air, her wing movements started to slow however as she locked eyes with Ash's Butterfree. The two Butterfree stared into each other's eyes before Ash's swiftly left his shoulder, the two flew circles around each other and not straying far from the other. Ash tilted his head as he had slept through this lesson at Pokemon Trainer School.

"Um... what are they doing?"

Chloe sweated before letting out a nervous cough. "I-I think they took each other as a mate."

Treecko gazed up with a jealous expression before lowering his head. Pikachu noticed his teammate looking down and looked at him with a tilt of his head. "Pika?"

"Tree!" Treecko quickly waved it off and tried playing it cool as he leaned with his back up against the nearby tree, though his eyes said a different story as he watched Butterfree fly with sadness in his eyes

As you can probably guess, Butterfree is here to stay!

I had Treecko appear earlier than normal as my plans for Hoenn require him being more experienced and I'd rather not rush Treecko's evolution so Sceptile can compete. Treecko's one of my favorite Pokemon of his.

I don't normally nickname Pokemon but for the sake of simplicity and since both are permanent, I'm gonna give Chloe's a nickname. It could take some time as I'm awful at nicknames, I'm a bit like Lillie and would simply call her Pinky... which isn't that great haha.
