Yui Kusanagi couldn't help but stare at the unusual couple with wide, disbelieving eyes. Despite being magically transported to an entirely different dimension and then being ordered by Zeus – of all people – to teach humanity to a bunch of Gods, what she was currently bearing witness to had her utter and complete attention. It was just too… surreal.

"You like New York City in the daytime
I like New York City in the nighttime
"

Thor was standing in the courtyard, the sun beaming its rays down on his dark greenish turquoise hair. The Norse God of Thunder didn't seem to notice the heat, his amber gold orbs locked on the beautiful Goddess he silently guarded.

The two were an odd match, but they suited each other, Yui thought. She continued to observe them, absorbed in their interactions and how they just… fit together, like two puzzle pieces.

Even the way they dressed was striking. Thor wore the standard school uniform in white, while the Goddess wore the black summer uniform. It matched perfectly with her long, raven colored tresses and gleaming obsidian eyes.

Next to each other, they appeared like night and day.

"You say you like sleeping with the air off
I don't, I need it on
"

The Goddess suddenly stopped moving, one hand lifting to fan herself. Yui watched in stunned disbelief as she abruptly took off her uniform jacket, revealing the dark colored, spaghetti-strapped top underneath. It exposed the generous breasts that had been previously covered, and Yui could feel her cheeks heat with embarrassment. What was she thinking?

Thor frowned at his female companion. The displeased expression was so different from his normally stoic one that it was thunderous in its intensity. It made Yui shiver with dread.

"Kagome…" his voice rumbled, the sound deep and gravel-rough. His warning tone was enough to have the toughest of men scatter in fear.

"But Thor, it's so hot," the raven haired beauty whined, pouting.

"Not enough for you to take off your jacket," he countered. His amber gold eyes pointedly looked at the article of clothing in her hands. The action clearly stated: Be good and put it back on.

Her pout deepened, and her obsidian eyes glistened with unshed tears.

Yui held her breath, watching to see what would happen next.

Thor released a quiet, almost unnoticed sigh. He held out a single hand, palm up. His eyes refused to meet hers, but the light pink flush on his cheeks spoke volumes. His unspoken message: I'll escort you back inside where it's cooler, and where you won't be so exposed.

Kagome grinned, clearly pleased with herself. She happily linked their hands together, fingers lacing intimately.

Yui could only blink owlishly as Thor escorted Kagome back into the nearest school building. The raven haired beauty was practically skipping, chattering merrily to her stoic companion. Although it didn't appear as though he was listening, he would nod at appropriate times and grunt every so often.

The human high school student wondered if they were a case of opposites attract. It sure seemed that way to her.

"You like the light coming through the windows
I sleep late, so I just keep 'em all closed"

Kagome mewled in distress as her curtains were jerked open, letting the sun's rays enter her darkened room with a vengeance. Pulling her blankets over her head, she curled into a little ball to hopefully fall back into sleep and ignore the intruder in her bedroom.

In response, Thor easily yanked her covers from her body. She flinched as she was met with the morning's chill and the blinding light. She let out another mewl.

"Up," he ordered with no mercy in his voice.

Kagome whimpered, keeping her eyes firmly closed.

Thor narrowed his eyes.

Seconds later, anyone who happened to be passing the hallway that led to Kagome's chambers could hear the Goddess squealing and shouting in distress. Since this was a normal occurrence, however, they ignored it and continued with their morning routines.

"You ignore the music on the radio
I don't, I sing-a-long
"

Later that day, Thor was sitting against the trunk of a tree as he relaxed and listened to Kagome contentedly hum nearby. She could never stay angry at anyone for very long, him included, so that morning's incident was as good as forgotten.

It also helped that he was good at cooking and had made her favorite Japanese dish, Oden, as an apology. While all of their mornings were similar, it didn't matter. He liked seeing and making her happy, so it was a win-win.

Thor closed his eyes, lightly dozing, as he continued to listen to Kagome humming. The song was vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place where he may have heard it before.

"Have you heard of that song, Thor?" Kagome inquired. A content smile graced her angelic features, and her obsidian orbs were focused on the flowers she fiddled with in her hands.

He released a grunt as his response, crossing his arms over his broad chest.

She giggled, the sound light and soothing. "It's a song that I heard on a radio when I was visiting the humans," she said. "I thought it was rather lovely. What do you think?"

He grunted again.

She started humming again for several minutes, and Thor found himself falling deeper and deeper into slumber. When she suddenly stopped, his eyes slowly opened to see what had caused the pause.

Kagome was a lot closer than he had anticipated, leaning over his prone body as she maneuvered something on top of his head. He froze, curious at her actions.

"There," she said in satisfaction. She kneeled back down until they were eye level with each other. She smiled widely. "All done. What do you think, Thor? I worked really hard on it."

He gently reached up to touch the flower crown she'd placed on him. His amber gold eyes softened, and he let a small smile appear on his handsome face.

"It's lovely."

He found it especially lovely the way Kagome's cheeks flushed with pleasure at his praise, and the beaming smile that curved her beautiful features had his heart skipping several beats.

"I don't ask for you to change, baby no no no
And you don't ask for me to change
"

The next time Yui caught the couple together, she had felt like she had walked into a rather… intimate and personal moment. She froze where she stood, still hidden from view, and couldn't move as she listened to their conversation. Normally she wouldn't have stayed, knowing that a person's privacy was important and should be respected, but she couldn't command her feet to turn around and run. She supposed her innate curiosity of the two individuals were the main cause.

"Thor," Kagome's voice tentatively questioned, "why is it that you… never ask me to change?" She stood in front of the Norse God of Thunder, hands fiddling with the hem of her skirt, and her gaze lowered. Their height difference was almost laughable, but it was mostly charming. Thor easily towered over her. The top of her head only came up to his mid-chest.

"How come you never ask me to change?" he responded. His facial features were stoic and unreadable. But his eyes were soft as he gazed at the raven haired beauty.

Her small, delicate hands gripped his uniform's lapels in an almost childish need for comfort and reassurance. "Because," she quietly answered, "I love you just the way you are."

Thor softly chuckled. The rare sound was enough to cause Kagome to tilt her head up, obsidian connecting with amber gold. His entire expression shifted, morphing with the love and affection he felt for the Goddess. His confession was easily seen: There's your answer.

"Oh…" she breathed out, lips curving into a beautiful smile.

From her hiding place, Yui couldn't help the girlish squeal she mentally released in her head. They were simply too cute! She thought.

However, she had to quickly make her escape, cheeks as red as a tomato, as Thor wrapped his arms around Kagome and leaned down to kiss her passionately. That was definitely a private moment she did not want to be caught in.

"Tell me how we're not alike
But we work so well and we don't even know why
Funny how the stars crossed right

'Cause we work so well and we don't even know why"

After that incident, Yui couldn't stop her curiosity regarding the mismatched couple. If she had been curious before, now it felt like an obsession. Their relationship continued to confuse and astound her. She just couldn't explain it. It had to be more than a case of opposites attract.

Currently in the classroom between subjects, the human high school student observed Kagome interacting with Thor. The raven haired Goddess was her usual self, while her male counterpart was stoic and silent. Yui had to wonder how they even started dating. From what she could see, it appeared one-sided despite knowing – and witnessing – differently.

"What are you staring so intently at?" Loki questioned, startling Yui out of her thoughts.

"N-Nothing," she quickly answered, waving her hands back and forth to add emphasis.

Loki scoffed, rolling his eyes at the blatant lie. "You're terrible at lying, so out with it already," he said.

Yui thought about her options. Loki was her best chance at getting answers. Aside from Balder, Loki was the closest to Thor since they were childhood friends. Thor basically looked out for the other two males (when he wasn't with Kagome), so this could be an opportunity to learn more about Thor and Kagome's relationship. That is, if Loki decided to tell her the truth. It mostly depended on his mood.

Fiddling with her fingers nervously, Yui admitted, "I was just wondering about Thor… and Kagome."

The God of Fire raised a brow. "What about them?"

"I-I was wondering how… you know… how they got together?"

He gave a bored expression. "Why don't you just ask them?" His tone clearly expressed that he was talking to a five-year-old child.

Yui flushed in embarrassment. "I can't do that," she exclaimed.

Loki leaned back in his seat, an uncaring expression crossing his face. "Well, whatever." He shrugged. "It was a long time ago – probably back when we were all kids. Thor just saw her one day and decided he was going to marry her. The end."

"That's it?" she asked, incredulous. Loki had to be playing one of his tricks on her. There was no way that was it!

He grinned mischievously. "Take it or leave it, but that's all I'm going to say."

Something suddenly occurred to Yui and she asked, "What is Kagome the Goddess of, anyway? I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned before."

Loki chuckled with genuine amusement. "Took you long enough," he admonished. "She's basically the Goddess of Peace. She's the quiet murmur that lulls humans to sleep at night, and the blanket that covers the world in peace and quiet when it's bedtime." He smirked. "In other words…"

"The complete opposite of Thor," Yui quietly finished, eyes wide at the revelation.

"Yep," he replied, using both arms to cushion his head from behind. "But they work so well and they don't even know why. They just do."

"You can call it fire and ice
But we work so well and we don't even know why
We don't even know why, no no
We don't even know why, no no no
"

It was only on very rare occasions where Thor or Kagome would show their tempers. It took something truly catastrophic for either to express a hint of anger but, when they were pushed to the edge, they were individually terrifying.

Thor became even more emotionally restrained, if possible, and his glares could freeze any being – mythical or human – where they stood. His usual stoicism turned ice cold towards any opponent who stood in the way of his goal.

On the other hand, Kagome had a fiery temper that could scorch any living being. Although the Goddess of Peace, she had a spine of steel when she believed in something or wanted to defend something utterly precious. Her obsidian orbs positively burned like flames.

Together, they were like fire and ice. The two elements would normally clash, but they embodied them so perfectly it worked for each of them. They didn't oppose the other, they mixed. Combined. It allowed them to coexist, to work together. To be together. It gave their romantic relationship a balance that other couples weren't lucky enough to have.

"No no no no
We like it in the daytime
We like it in the end of time

No no no no
We like it in the daytime
We like it in the end of time
"

Thor sat under the shade of his favorite tree, his posture relaxed, his eyes closed. Kagome was lying with him, her head comfortably pillowed on his lap, but he didn't mind. He found it soothing to have her so close, her sweet scent floating into his senses. It always caused him to drift into a light doze.

Kagome idly played with a flower, the stem twirling between her nimble fingers. She softly hummed under her breath, content.

"Hey, Thor," she softly called out.

He grunted in response to show that he was listening.

She sent a beaming smile in his direction. "Let's stay together until the end of time, okay?"

Amber gold eyes slowly opened, his expression soft with pure adoration. "Was that ever in question?" he rhetorically replied. Softly, he brushed his fingers through her silky tresses, brushing the strands behind her ear.

"Promise me," she pleaded.

Thor leaned down to press a kiss to her forehead. "Until the end of time, Kagome," he solemnly swore.

"Cold outside and you're just in a T-shirt
I have cold blood even in a sweater
You start your night sippin' by the Kilo
I don't, I know you know
"

On a whim created by Zeus, the Gods, Goddess, and human high school student were plunged into a winter wonderland. Snow blanketed the entire campus and fluffy snowflakes softly fell from the sky by the layers. To match the suddenly plunging temperatures, everyone broke out their winter clothes and gear to keep warm.

Outside in one of the courtyards, Yui watched as Kagome joyfully played in the snow. The raven haired beauty giggled as she dug her hands in the cold substance, making snowballs and generally enjoying herself. Thor silently watched over her, observing her actions and making sure no harm befell her.

Yui couldn't help but notice that Kagome wore thick gloves, thermal leggings under a long skirt, and two sweaters including her school uniform jacket. Yui was a bit surprised that a Goddess could actually be cold, like a human. The others didn't seem to mind the cold too much – some didn't even appear remotely affected by the abrupt change in weather. Somehow, it gave the high school student a feeling of connection with the mythical beings that surrounded her daily.

Kagome cupped her chilled hands to her mouth, blowing hot air into the frozen appendages to help thaw them. The grin on her beautiful features couldn't be matched, and her red cheeks proved she had been outside for a while.

Yui observed the way Kagome said something to Thor, the words muffled by the distance between the couple and human. She didn't really care, though. Just watching their expressions was enough to figure out what was being said.

Thor didn't respond to whatever his companion said, but he shrugged out of his jacket and easily draped it over the petite Goddess. The article of clothing dwarfed her and it almost appeared ridiculous, but it was charming more than anything. With the removal of his uniform jacket, it exposed the plain T-shirt he wore underneath and the band around his upper arm that acted as his limiter. Unlike Kagome, Thor didn't flinch at the sudden exposure to the cold weather. Like some of the other Gods, he didn't appear remotely affected.

Yui observed as Kagome giggled, playfully twirling in the falling snow in her new article of clothing. The human high school student couldn't help but smile at the picture the couple made. While the raven haired beauty appeared cheerful, her male counterpart silently watched over her with affection clearly displayed in his eyes.

"I don't ask for you to change, baby no no no
And you don't ask for me to change

Tell me how we're not alike
But we work so well and we don't even know why
Funny how the stars crossed right
'Cause we work so well and we don't even know why
"

That night, Thor and Kagome found themselves in the school's cafeteria. It was empty except for them, so it was quiet and they knew they wouldn't be disturbed. It was the perfect setting for an impromptu date.

Wearing an apron, Thor carefully watched the pot of hot cocoa he was preparing. Every so often, he would use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture.

From her seat at the counter that separated the kitchen area from the dining room, Kagome happily hummed as she patiently waited for the warm, sweet liquid. Her cheeks were still a little flushed from being out in the snow, but she didn't seem to care. She was just happy being in Thor's presence.

The Norse God of Thunder evenly poured the hot cocoa into two mugs, signaling that their drinks were ready. He carried both mugs to Kagome, and then took the seat beside her. His silent message: Here. Please enjoy.

"Thank you," she said, smiling gratefully. When he nodded, bringing the mug up to his lips to take a sip, she placed a hand on his arm to halt his actions. He raised a brow, a silent question shining within his eyes though his facial expression didn't alter from its usual stoicism. Kagome grinned. "I have marshmallows."

When she pulled out the mentioned package of white fluff, Thor's expression softened. She knew about his large appetite and high metabolism. The added sugar would go a long way versus just having the hot cocoa. Like how he was always thinking about her, she was always thinking about him too. Their relationship was based on opposites attract, but they worked so well. It was unexplainable, and they didn't even know why.

"Thank you," he said, voice rumbling with his appreciation. His lips curved up in a small smile.

Kagome returned his smile with one of her own, bright and gleaming. "You're welcome."

"You can call it fire and ice
But we work so well and we don't even know why
We don't even know why, no no (no no no)
We don't even know why, no no no
"

Brow raised in curiosity, Kagome asked, "A cultural festival?"

Balder, the Norse God of Light, smiled serenely. "Yes," he answered. "Since Zeus has decided to change the season to winter, the others decided that it would be nice to have a cultural festival based on Christmas. Christmas is a holiday celebrated by humans and is quite popular everywhere on Earth."

The Goddess of Peace clapped her hands, an excited expression coloring her angelic features. "How wonderful," she cheered. "That sounds like so much fun! I've been to Earth during such a holiday. It's truly marvelous, Balder. The lights, the music, the merriment – it's all so captivating."

The handsome blonde God chuckled at her enthusiasm. "I'm glad you're happy about the news." His facial features faltered in the next instant, however. "It's just too bad that we're being split up based on our heritage."

"I'm sure everything will be fine," she replied, waving off his disappointment. "We're still going to have fun – and that's the main thing." Using one hand, she gently patted his cheek in encouragement. "You should go meet up with Thor and Loki to decide what you three are going to do for the festival."

Balder's expression softened with the hidden affection he felt for the raven haired beauty. She would never know or understand just how much he cherished his time with her or when she simply touched him out of friendship. Over the years of their acquaintance, he had wished several times that he had met her first, not Thor.

A darker, more sinister part of him had also wished that Thor – and any other male – would just disappear.

To hide his darkening thoughts, Balder smiled charmingly at his female companion. "Yes, of course. You're right as always, Kagome. I'll go find the other two and get to work. Please look forward to what we come up with."

In response, the oblivious Goddess smiled brightly and waved farewell.

One day, he thought. One day she will be mine.

Only mine.

"No no no no
We like it in the daytime (we don't even know)
We like it in the end of time (we don't even know)

No no no no
We like it in the daytime
(We don't even know, know, know, know, know)
We like it in the end of time
"

The cultural festival had been a huge success. The spirits that Zeus had summoned all seemed happy and thrilled, each one having a good time. The other Gods appeared to be having fun as well, which brought them one step closer to understanding and appreciating the humans who once adored and worshiped them.

However, Thor softly frowned as he watched the way Balder dragged Kagome around the festival. While the raven haired beauty didn't appear to notice anything unusual about the Norse God of Light, Thor wasn't a fool. He'd known about the other male's interest for a long time. Balder was his friend and as such, Thor had refused to flaunt his relationship with Kagome in front of his face. It wouldn't have been right; instead, it would've been incredibly cruel.

But this new situation troubled him.

Thor exchanged subtle glances with Loki. The Norse God of Fire nodded, having noticed the same thing.

"He is becoming unstable," the Norse God of Thunder murmured under his breath, being careful that his words didn't carry to anyone else.

Loki nodded, emerald green eyes flashing. "I'll take care of it. Go and retrieve your girl."

Thor nodded.

A few minutes later, he was holding Kagome's hand as she led him around the festival, happily chattering and pointing out the multiple attractions and different booths. Thor's expression softened as he gazed at her.

He would never allow anything to happen to her. She was far too precious. He would protect her with everything that he had. He wouldn't lose her, not to anyone.

"Somehow we end up on the same side
And you wouldn't think that we'd be alright
Even our eyes are different colors, but we see fine
"

From the sidelines, Thor watched as Kagome, Yui, and the other Gods released lanterns into the darkened sky. It was a beautiful ceremony and the perfect ending to a joyous day. He idly followed the direction Kagome's lantern flew in, contentment warming his chest for a brief second. He wished he could've joined her down there, but he had something important to take care of first.

When he sensed a second presence joining him, amber gold connected with emerald green.

Loki shoved his hands into his pockets. "He's starting to become rapidly unstable," he said, knowing Thor would know he was talking about Balder. He brushed a hand through his hair, frustrated. "He's becoming undone so quickly…"

Thor narrowed his eyes, concerned.

The red haired male sighed before his own eyes narrowed in steely determination. "When the time comes, I'll do it." He clenched his teeth, eyes darkening in resignation. "I'll kill Balder. We can't afford to have his other side awaken. This universe won't survive if the God of Destruction decides to wreck havoc."

Amber gold dulled, appearing almost blank of any emotion. He knew it was for the best. However, that didn't mean he had to like or accept it. Balder was one of his childhood friends. They had grown up together. He was considered family.

But if it meant protecting their current universe… If it meant protecting their newfound friends… If it meant protecting Kagome…

Thor closed his eyes, resigned. It was for the best.

Perhaps if he repeated it over and over he would start to eventually believe it.

"Somehow we end up on the same side (up on the same side)
And you wouldn't think that we'd be alright
(Think that we'd be alright)
Even our eyes are different colors, but we see fine
"

Obsidian orbs groggily opened as Kagome felt a hard, male body climb into her bed and wrap snuggly around hers. Familiar arms enclosed her waist, pulling her closer. She smiled as hot breath fanned across her neck, his face burying itself in the space between her head and shoulder.

"Thor…" she mumbled, still half asleep.

He grunted in acknowledgement.

She rolled over to face him, making sure she remained within the circle of his embrace. Raising one hand, she gently cupped his cheek. "This is a surprise," she softly said, smiling at his handsome features. Even in the dark, she could see him clearly. "Not that I'm complaining, but what are you doing here?"

His once dull amber gold eyes sparked with life as he continued to gaze at her. "I just wanted to be with you," he confessed. After his conversation with Loki, after resigning himself to what must be done, he had felt an almost desperate need to see and hold Kagome. His emotions had been roiling and raging, and just being in her presence soothed him. It wasn't because she was the Goddess of Peace. It was because she was simply Kagome.

Her obsidian eyes gleamed with concern. "Is something wrong, Thor?"

Thor shook his head. Closing his eyes, he leaned forward until their foreheads touched in an intimate gesture. "I need you to promise me something."

"What is it?"

"Stay away from Balder."

Confused, her brows furrowed. "What are you–?"

His hold around her tightened. "Promise me, Kagome."

Kagome was silent for a few seconds before she nodded in understanding. "Okay," she softly promised. "I'll stay away from Balder."

A knot within his chest that he hadn't noticed was there loosened, and Thor breathed out a sigh of relief. His body relaxed as he let her aura lull him into a light slumber. "Thank you," he rumbled out.

In response, the raven haired beauty cuddled her head under his chin, seeking to be soothed but also give comfort. As his warmth surrounded her petite body, she closed her eyes and let sleep overtake her senses. Although she didn't know the full story behind Thor's sudden actions, she knew he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. Sooner or later, he would tell her everything.

"(Oh) Tell me how we're not alike
But we work so well and we don't even know why
('Cause we work so well and we don't even know why, why)

Funny how the stars crossed right
'Cause we work so well and we don't even know why
(But we don't even know why)
"

Kagome released a heavy sigh, her eyes drooping with sadness as she reviewed the papers in front of her. "We've been here for six months and I still don't understand these mathematic equations," she groaned. "Why do humans need this, anyway? I know multiple languages, but this – this just escapes all reason."

She and Thor were currently studying in the library. Thoth had suddenly declared that they would be having mid-terms in exactly three days, leaving the one human, one Goddess, and the Gods scrambling to study in preparation. If she weren't the Goddess of Peace, she would've severely punished the God of Knowledge for this transgression. Needless to say, she was not amused.

Thor hummed, his eyes never leaving the text book opened in front of him as he diligently took notes and solved difficult equations without batting an eyelash. It truly wasn't fair, Kagome pouted.

"Are you listening to me, Thor?" she whined.

The Norse God of Thunder hummed again to acknowledge her. He finally tore his eyes away to glance at the raven haired beauty across from him. "You could ask Thoth to tutor you," he suggested.

"I can't. I keep thinking of all the ways I'm going to kill him," she casually replied, blinking innocently. She suddenly smiled brightly. "You know, if he's dead, we won't have to keep studying for these silly mid-terms."

Thor blinked, a deadpanned expression melting his features. "Stop hanging out with Loki," was all he said in response to her homicidal intentions.

She whined, "But Thor–"

"I will tutor you," he cut in, interrupting what she would've said. When she stared at him wide-eyed, he continued, "I will tutor you in math. You will tutor me in Japanese." He threw down the text book for Classical Japanese between them as if to add emphasis. "Deal?"

"Deal," she happily exclaimed, grinning. A few moments later, her grin turned rather sharp, like a shark, as she added, "But we could still kill Thoth and play in the gardens inst—"

"No." Thor opened his math text book, fully intending on studying and starting their first tutoring session. "Open your book to page thirty-nine."

Kagome whimpered at his sound rejection, but did as he ordered and opened her math text book as well. If it hadn't been considered undignified, she knew she would've been crying waterfall tears as her eyes fell upon the numbers and letters that spelled out her demise.

"You can call it fire and ice
But we work so well and we don't even know why
('Cause we work so well and we don't even know why, why)
We don't even know why, no no
We don't even know why, no no no
"

The moment arrived when Balder had finally reached the edge of his control. He had tried to protect everyone by jumping off of a cliff but had instead completely awoken as the God of Destruction. His sheer power couldn't be contained by his limiter, and it shook the entire universe they inhabited.

Zeus evacuated the spirits and used his powers to stabilize the universe the best he could, while the other Gods and Goddess broke free from their own limiters to hopefully stop their friend from destroying everything, including himself.

Yui could only watch, half in awe and half in terror, as the friends she had made transformed into their true selves. Each took on their godly appearance, and this, she thought, this was why they were able to garner so much devotion and were worshiped from the beginning of time. They were all fearsome and beautiful in their own ways, and she was unable to tear her eyes away.

"Yui," Kagome called out, her entire body glowing with her powers. "We have to leave now. This place isn't safe anymore. I'll take you back home."

"No, wait," the human high school student denied. "I can help! Please, I can't just leave you guys like this." Her hand reached up to grip the sword charm around her neck. It had brought her to this world. It could be the key to saving the world, saving her friends.

Kagome's expression softened. "Yui…" she mumbled, touched that a human could care so much for her and the others. Although she had attended the school because Thor had been sent there, it still amazed her how humans had the capacity to feel and love so much.

Obsidian orbs hardened with determination in the next second. "Very well," she said, holding a hand out. "Grab my hand. Let's see what that sword of yours can do."

Yui smiled as she gratefully accepted the Goddess' hand. "Thank you, Kagome," she said.

"No problem. Now, let's go save the guys before they do something really stupid."

With that, the two launched themselves into the thick of battle, both females determined to bring everyone back home safely and in one piece.

"No no no no
We like it in the daytime (oh)
We like it in the end of time (We don't even know why)
No no no no
We like it in the daytime
We like it in the nighttime
"

Located in an unknown part of the universe that only Gods could venture, Kagome had her head pillowed on Thor's lap, contentedly humming a happy tune she had heard from Earth. Her male companion had his eyes closed, soaking in her presence and the peaceful setting they found themselves in.

"Hey, Thor," she softly called out.

He grunted to show that he was listening.

"Promise me that we'll be together until the end of time."

He slowly opened his eyes, exposing the amber gold hidden beneath his lids. His expression softened with the pure adoration he felt for the raven haired beauty. Gently, he leaned down until his lips could press a tender kiss to her forehead. "Until the end of time, Kagome," he solemnly swore.

She lightly giggled, happiness gleaming within her obsidian orbs. Suddenly, she jumped up from her reclined position. "Come on," she encouraged, holding out a hand for Thor to take. "I heard that the other guys are going to Earth to visit Yui. We should go join them."

Thor easily grasped her smaller hand, standing to his full height, which towered over her petite stature. He let a small smile curve his lips upward. "Very well," he agreed.

"We should drag Loki with us too," she laughed. "And Balder!"

His expression softened even more if possible at the mention of his two childhood friends. His brothers. He gave a single nod in agreement, and the two disappeared with a flash of power to gather them and head to the shrine to visit their human friend.
