The East Coast Tsunamis
-Inside the Time Vortex-
Rip Hunter was pouring glasses of Champagne.
"Well Jonas is asle…" Miranda was saying but stopped when she walked into the control room. "What's all this about?"
"We're celebrating," Rip said, handing his wife a glass.
"I like, but what are we celebrating?" Miranda asked.
"No more distractions, no more delays, no more time changes. Kara Allen is finally pregnant with Kent Daniel Allen," Rip said, holding out his glass as if expecting Miranda to toast but noticed the look she was giving him. "What?"
"Seriously?" Miranda asked him.
"What? All the time changes was driving me crazy," Rip admitted as he took a sip from his own glass.
"When is she pregnant now?" Miranda asked, and Rip pointed at the screens.
Miranda left her glass and went over to look at the information Rip had up.
"Rip Hunter," Miranda said after a moment making Rip pause, "don't you realize when Kara is pregnant?" Rip stared at his wife for a moment. "It's during the Aquawar."
"What?" Rip asked, rushing over to see his wife was right.
"See, it starts when she's two months pregnant and ends right around when she should give birth. What is going to happen without Supergirl leading and fighting in the Aquawar?" Miranda asked.
"I swear the Allens are going to be the death of me," Rip groaned. "We better go to the start of the Aquawar and see how everything is working out. Gideon, set a course for August 2021."
"Right away, Captain," Gideon called as she moved the ship through the time stream.
-August 2021-
Kara Allen sat on the couch in her Penthouse. Her pregnant belly clearly showing a baby bump – since Crisis had been over, she and Barry had decided it was finally time to have their fifth kid, counting Romana and Star, of course.
She smiled as she watched the show from Beautiful Earth on their inter-world streaming platform; it was Starfleet Academy with Barry on it when he was a teenager. Kara wasn't that a big fan of Star Trek but seeing Barry had got her into this show. She had been obsessive with it, much to Barry's annoyance, but also it had controlled her pregnancy mood swings somewhat.
Kara was so into the show she didn't realize the portal opening in the room and a version of her with dark hair come out. She didn't realize until the other her was sitting next to her.
"Oh, hi," Kara said, turning to look at the visitor for a moment. "Popcorn?" Kara held up the bag of popcorn she was eating from to her alternate.
"Thanks," the alternate said, taking a handful. "You're watching Star Trek?"
"Look at Barry," Kara said, smiling at the Barry on screen. "That was how old he was when we met. So cute." The alternate laughed, but before they could say anything else the elevator binged. Kara wasn't surprised as Romana and Star came out along with her Barry, who was holding Alura and Nora's hands. Behind them was Oliver Queen holding a baby – who couldn't be over a year – and Alura and Nora were talking to him.
"I can't get over how much those two talk now," Oliver was saying with a laugh as he rocked the baby in his arms.
"Who are you holding?" Kara asked Oliver and could feel Barry being smug. There was something she didn't know.
"My daughter," Oliver said giving Kara a frown.
"Wait, she's too young to be Quinn," Kara voiced, knowing Quinn was almost 3 years old now.
"She is. This is my younger daughter. Emily," Oliver said, clearly confused over Kara's reaction.
"Since when do you have two daughters?" Kara asked.
"Since Crisis," Barry called, making Kara look to her husband. "It seems we didn't escape all Crisis changes."
"What is with Crisis and giving people kids?" Kara asked knowing Oliver wasn't the only person in the multiverse that had a kid added to Crisis.
"It gave Prime two kids," the Kara alternative spoke up. "One of which was Oliver's kid too…"
Who's that? Barry asked Kara through their telepathic bond, indicating the Kara alternative.
Better question is, how did it take us five months to notice this kid? Kara countered. Crisis had been back in March after all, and now it was August; Emily herself seemed to only be about 6 months old. Barry wasn't sure but figured she had been born in either December or November of 2020 – possibly even January of 2021.
"Where is Quinn?" Kara vocalized.
"With Laurel, Sara, and Alex; playdate with her cousins," Oliver said. "I came to hang with Barry and the girls." Kara gave a nod.
"Who's your double?" Oliver asked after a moment, looking at the dark-haired alternate of Kara sitting next to her.
"Um…. I don't actually know," Kara said turning to her alternate. "What Earth are you from?"
"I don't have an Earth anymore. I'm Kayla," Kayla said, "you may know me from Mutant Earth's Cisco – he and I go on a lot of multiverse adventures."
"Oh yeah the Hitchhiker," Barry said, also remembering she had been on the Splitsville Waverider with them during Crisis. They hadn't really gotten a chance to talk to her before they had been sent to safety, since they were the Paragons of Love. "What are you doing here?"
"I thought it was finally time I come to check out the perfect world," Kayla said with a smirk, "and discovering Kara here was pregnant, I'm offering my services as Supergirl's maternity cover – I did it for Prime a few years ago when Kara was pregnant with Skye."
"Are you going to dye your hair blonde or something then?" Kara asked, "because Supergirl here…"
"Don't worry about it; I have holographic tech to make my hair blonde – also to make it appear short, in case Prime have more kids," Kayla smirked.
"Best keep that then," Barry vocalized, having a feeling that Skye Allen wouldn't be the only child of Prime's Kara and Barry.
Before anymore could be said though, both Barry and Oliver's communicator chimed. Barry took his out. "Gideon what's going on?" Barry asked the Gideon of Watchtower who was also connected to the Justice League communicators.
"There's a tsunami heading to Metropolis," Gideon replied back. "Coney Island's already been hit badly. Superman is there, but he needs some help."
"Tsunami?" Oliver asked, shocked as Barry summoned his speed force suit. "Kara, mind taking your goddaughter?"
"Really?" Kara asked, not having known she was Emily's godmother but opened up her arms and took the baby, regardless. Oliver summoning his own outfit out of a piece of jewelry Kara and Barry had given him during Amelia's wedding.
"Need a hand?" Kayla asked, realizing no one asked her but summoned her own outfit out of her own necklace Vibe Junior had made for her, her hair also turned blonde. Usually, she tied her hair back too, but this time decided not too – as this world's Supergirl didn't. "Like I said, I'm here to cover Supergirl."
"Sure," Barry said.
"Wait a second," Kara said as she rocked Emily.
"Oh, you want me to use your outfit?" Kayla asked, about to reach for her necklace – Karry's outfit had recently been programmed into it, holographically, by Mutant Cisco.
"Oh, I don't care about that. Your outfit is cool enough, and we can sell action figures of Supergirl in a third outfit," Kara said, and Kayla frowned. "You okay working with Krypto and Hex?" But as if in response, Krypto was already sniffing Kayla and gave her a lick.
"We got to know one another while on Prime – he visited often enough," Kayla chuckled as Krypto turned to his mistress and gave her a nod, as if telling her he was fine with this.
"Well then, Krypto, Hex come," Barry called to the two animals as he grabbed Oliver and ran out the balcony; Hex followed while Krypto stayed by Kayla side, flying out of the balcony.
As they left, Nora and Alura had come up to the couch and were waving at Emily in their mom's arms.
"Hi," the twins said; the little girl giggling at the antics of the two older girls and Kara smiled. Nora and Alura would be great big sisters soon.
"Can we watch a Disney movie?" It was Star who asked, she and Romana having been silent during the baby reveal and the tsunami warning.
"Fine, but one from Beautiful," Kara said with a smirk. "Gideon, put on Beautiful's live action Little Mermaid."
"Yes, Mrs. Creator," Gideon said, and the Starfleet Academy show turned off and was replaced by the live action Little Mermaid, starring that world's own Kayla. The girls didn't complain as they went to watch.

Barry had dropped Oliver off on top of a building where the water was just starting to flood in. The vigilantes who were arriving were going to survey the area and using their equipment to get people out of danger. Barry arrived at the main Coney Island and almost had to pause but he had to keep running as it was covered with water – the famous Boardwalk was completely destroyed as pieces of wood floated and the rides had destroyed.
"I have tech on Staten Island and the surrounding island keeping the waves at bay," Gideon spoke in Barry's ear as he observed the scene, "but I was unable to save the Coney Island area and Lower Brooklyn." Barry nodded at this.
Clark meanwhile was holding a rollercoaster car in the air, clearly trying to balance it so the riders didn't fall as he looked for a safe place to put it. Kayla came and joined him grabbing the other end of the ride. "Hi Superman," Kayla said with a smile.
"Supergirl?" Clark said, blinking for a moment but catching on fast this had to be multiverse. "Help me bring this passed the flooded area."
Barry had ran out into the ocean, being guided by Gideon now on an S.O.S out there and found a boat. "Flash!" A woman on the deck called; she was clearly in a wedding dress, probably had been getting married on the boat when the water rose. "Below deck!"
Barry followed the woman below to see two men pinned against each other by a piece of wood that had sorn through the boat and into them. One of the men was pinned by his shoulder while the other man was in the stomach. "Save him…" the worst-off man said.
"I'm going to save you both," Barry said. "Superdog!" Barry then whistled and Krypto was there in a second. "Okay, you," Barry pointed at the man who's shoulder was the one the wood was going through. "You're coming out first and Superdog here will bring you to the hospital. It's not as smooth as a ride as with me or with Supergirl or Superman, but he'll get you there safe." Krypto gave a bark, as if saying of course.
Barry put his arms on the man and vibrated; a moment later, the man was vibrating as well and was easily separated from the wood. He yelled out in pain though as more blood came from his wound, but Krypto was fast in taking him away. The boat rock and a sound was made.
"Okay, everyone else needs out of here fast," Barry said as he grabbed the woman and the other people in the room and ran them fast to land before returning to the final injured party.
"Mother Nature," Barry said into coms, now it was just him and the injured man. "I have a man with a large piece of wood through his stomach. How do I get him to safety?"
"Be better moving him without taking the wood completely out," Caitlin replied over coms.
"Got it," Barry said, vibrating his hand and cutting the wood with his speed to keep a good piece in but removing the rest. "We're going to go very fast here," Barry explained to the man, then picked up the man and ran to the hospital as fast as possible.
When he returned to the flooded area, he could see that the waters were starting to recede and noticed that Thea had arrived and was using her Water Totem to make the water go back out to sea – which was helpful. It allowed the Vigilantes to help more and for them to find more victims under the water. Gideon still had her protection over the rest of the city though, while Kayla and Clark were working together lifting rides and equipment to get to people. Krypto and Hex were moving around to add an extra paw anywhere needed.
Ray had shown up with Red Tornado and Sideways, who was opening up portal to help people out of tricky situations, trapped in wreckage. Barry decided to help citizens who took refuge on top of a fire truck. Then, Caitlin's voice came back over the coms.
"We need you in Florida fast!" Caitlin voice said. "East Coast, down south, now."
"Caitlin, we're having problems here already," Barry complained.
"And another tsunami is heading for the Florida coast," Caitlin implored, and Barry couldn't believe what he was hearing. The wave was distributing across the entire eastern coast, it seemed.
"What about the rest of the coast?" Barry asked, concerned.
"We have other heroes already there, Gideon's tech is able to stop the waters, plus it seems Thea's Totem is working beyond the Metropolis area, but not as far as Florida," Caitlin explained.
"Okay, got it," Barry nodded, realizing that Florida would be the worst hit now. "Liberty Belle, Velocity, with me," Barry said as he ran, pushing himself faster than ever as he followed Caitlin's directions. He knew Jesse and Wally were with him as he stopped at a nice-looking beach. People were already running from the shore as the tide appeared to go out further than normal and there was a foamy white wave in the distance, rolling straight toward them. "If we run fast up and down the coast, we could create a wind shield."
"Could work," Jesse agreed with a nod. "We will all have to run as fast as we can without breaking time and traveling to the past or future."
"Three of us," Wally said, and the three gave a nod as they started to run, their trail kicking up wind and sand along with them as the three didn't give it enough time to lessen. The wind picking up was starting to create a barrier that they hoped would stop the oncoming wave.
"Do you see that?" Barry asked, noticing as he ran there was someone in the head of wave – and he was making the wave bigger, trying to get around the speedster protection wind shield. "This isn't natural! It's an attack. Someone is in the wave controlling it. Liberty Belle, Velocity keep the wind up. I'm going to take care of the attacker."
"Got it," the two said together, continuing their run up the coast.
Barry, on the other hand, turned inward to the water, to get to the man controlling the water, he would have to go under for a moment, but he picked up his speed slightly so everything around him slowed more; he spent a few seconds under water where he grabbed hold of the attacker.
Running him out of the water and onto the beach, pushing him into the sand, Barry put a foot over his chest, to stop him. "Now, you're going to tell me what you were doing!" Barry said, his voice vibrating slightly. The man didn't speak but Barry notice it looked like he was choking and couldn't breathe.
Turning around he saw with the man out of the water Jesse and Wally had managed to stop the wave, with the waters starting to return to their calm. "Mother Nature, I'm bringing someone in. Get medical ready," Barry said, not knowing what else to do as he picked up the man and ran towards STAR Labs.
-Karry Universe-
As Barry arrived at STAR Labs, Caitlin was ready in her medical section and Barry put the man down on the bed. He had fallen unconscious during the run.
"Creator, there are more tsunamis forming," Gideon spoke up.
"Has to be more attackers," Barry groaned. "Gideon, its time to release the Justice League drones," STAR Labs had made advance drones, similar to the ones created to help terraform planets, which they sold to police, firefighters, military – and even a version for normal people. There was also a Justice League version which included weapons in them not included in any other package. "Have them patrol the coast line and find the person in the wave controlling it. Stop them and the waves should be able to be controlled."
"Yes creator," Gideon said.
"Supers, Velocity, Liberty Belle, and anyone else who can travel fast, follow where Gideon says tsunamis are forming and lend a hand to the drones. Everyone else, remain in Metropolis to finish up rescue operations there," Barry said into coms.
"He's dead," Caitlin interrupted Barry's orders with the shock revelation.
"I didn't hit him that hard," Barry said confused and concerned.
"It's not you – he can't breathe air. He can only breath under water. When you took him out of the water, he suffocated to death," Caitlin explained. "By the time you got him here it was already too late."
"What is he?" Barry asked. "A meta human."
"An Atlantean," a new voice spoke, and Barry turned to see Diana Prince had walked in through the back door, dressed fully at Wonder Woman. "I came here when I heard you had a person. He must be from Atlantis."
"I thought Atlantean can breathe on land," Barry said, knowing he had met some from other worlds. New Justice's Laurel had adopted an Atlantean boy who lived fine on land.
"Some can, some can't," Diana sighed. "Themyscira had many battles with Atlantis long ago."
"Why?" Caitlin asked.
"We were made by Zeus, God of the Skies. Atlantis was the creation of Zeus's brother, Poseidon, God of the Seas. The two brothers didn't get along, and neither did we," Diana said and noticed the look. "Consider it ancient Greek politics…" Barry and Caitlin decided to nod. "But an attack on the land by Atlantis can only mean one thing: They have declared war on us."
Barry sighed, not liking Dianas' words, but had to agree it made sense. "Come on, Wonder Woman, let's go back out and help," Barry said as Diana nodded.
-Karry Universe-
It was near dinner time when Barry finally got home; Kayla had come with him, and they had Oliver with them. Laurel was in the Penthouse with Alex, Sara, and their kids now. The Canaries had been out on the coastline, Sara and Alex using their skills to save people, while Laurel had used her Canary Cry on the water as it rose. It took hours, but with the drones and Gideon's help, they finally showed the tsunamis had stopped – Atlantis must have realized these attacks were not working anymore. Barry figured they were regrouping and coming up with something new, but they had earned a break.
"I ordered in food," Kara said, pointing at the delivery. "And told Cat and Lois to announce from the Justice League that Atlantis is attacking the land. Explain these tsunamis. The news are having a field day on it all."
"Thanks," Barry said, kissing his wife and putting a hand on her stomach. "Talk about timing…"
"I have the DEO on alert and sent messages out to all other DEOs headquarters," Alex said. "We're on alert."
Barry gave his sister-in-law a nod before turning to Kayla. "Thanks for the help today. Your welcome to join us for dinner," Barry said. "How does this maternity cover work?"
"I stay on the world. Well, with a war coming you could use a Supergirl," Kayla pointed out.
"But we can't ask you to do that," Kara said.
"You're not asking, I'm offering," Kayla pointed out.
It would be helpful, Barry thought to Kara who had to agree. "Okay, thank you. There are some extra rooms downstairs in Amelia and Winn's apartment or you can stay at our Lake House or our house at Disney or our villa in Italy," Barry said.
"Um… I think your Lake House will work," Kayla said with a nod, a little stunned at all the options. She wondered if she should tell her SuperEarth double about Karry's Disney villa, knowing SuperEarth's Barry was a Disney fanatic.
"Daddy!" Alura said. "Mama's Ariel," the girls could speak nicely now.
"What?" Barry asked confused as he turned to his daughter.
"Beautiful Kayla played Ariel in a live action remake," Kara explained. "We watched it."
"I got to see that," Barry stated, surprised.
"It's a good film," Kayla spoke up. "I met that Kayla once. Well twice, but I try not to remember the second time. Don't ask. I should go back eventually…"
"You might want to take the girls with you when you do," Kara joked as Barry started making a plate for himself from the food Kara had ordered in and getting some pasta to his daughters.
-Karry Universe-
Back in the Waverider, Rip Hunter and Miranda had to hold on to stop themselves from falling as they hit bumps in the time stream, trying to get to the start of the Aquawar.
"Gideon!" Rip yelled out. "What's with the bumpy ride?"
"I apologize," Gideon said. "But we have entered into a Time Flux. I barely got us through it."
"That's not good," Miranda said. "Is this having to do with Kara pregnant during the Aquawar?"
"Affirmative," Gideon said. "The Hitchhiking Kayla coming to cover for Supergirl has smoothed out some flux, but not all of them. The timeline is still in flux. I can move us anywhere from the beginning of the war to the end, but besides that, we're stuck."
"Stuck in the Flux," Rip mumbled. "Gideon, show the timeline." Gideon brought up a representative of the timeline above the console – it wasn't a smooth line. There were some parts that were out of sync or even unwritten; even the end of the timeline was a mystery, with many lines splintering off into many possibilities. "We have to smooth out this flux to get the same end result that was always going to happen."
"Not an easy task," Miranda pointed. "We can't directly interact with the timeline or with the important people for the war – it could cause even more time paradoxes and fluxes if we contact Barry or Kara. Besides, they know of us too well. And if we can't leave the war, I bet our Time Masters can't come in."
"There's one Time Master we already have out there," Rip pointed out, pushing a button and a holographic image of Ava Sharpe appeared in place of the timeline. "We already inserted her into the timeline – she has a high position in the DEO and has now been assimilated into the Super Family. We can contact her without causing problems with the timeline. She could help us smooth out the flux."
"You need a Time Courier," Miranda pointed out, opening part of the console, and handing Rip two bracelets that were stored within.
"Thanks," Rip said, putting one on and taking the other in his hand.
"I'll find out what we're facing next," Miranda stated as Rip used the courier he put on to open a different type of portal to the ones seen, before he walked through and onto the street outside the Oasis Bar – the bar had opened not long ago, but Rip could see Ava inside. He knew she would be here, talking to her girlfriend.
Rip walked inside and sat down besides Ava, the woman glancing to the man in shock.
"Excuse yourself," Rip muttered; Ava looked back but Crystal Snow was making a drink for a customer and hadn't yet noticed Rip. "We need to chat."
"Sorry, Crystal work emergency," Ava said holding up her phone as if she had checked a text message. "See you later."
"Sure," Crystal said, going over and kissing Ava. Ava got up and walked out. "Can I get you anything?"
"No, thanks," Rip said to Crystal, who raised an eyebrow as he got up as well. He lingered for a moment, to not make it obvious he was following Ava. "Guess she's not showing..." Rip said loud enough to be heard to make it seem he had been stood up before leaving. Ava was waiting a little down the road.
"What do you want, Rip?" Ava asked as Rip met with her, she was not happy at his appearance.
"I am recruiting you back into the Time Masters," Rip said.
"No, I am happy here," Ava said.
"Perfect. I don't need you to leave here. I just need you to work with me," Rip said, confusing Ava. "The Aquawar is here."
"The what?" Ava asked.
"Oh yeah, I erased your memories of the war with the memories of who was who," Rip said. "That has come back around to bite me in the butt. Okay, the point is, Kent's birth has been delayed twice to make it that Kara is pregnant during the war."
"Kent? That's their kids name?" Ava asked, figuring Rip was talking about Kara and Barry.
"Oh damn, I erased that too," Rip sighed, and Ava put a hand on her hip. "The point being time is in flux and we're stuck in it. We need to smooth out the timeline and we need someone inside they trust to help."
"I just earned their trust. I don't want to betray it," Ava pointed out.
"Ava, this is the timeline! It's in danger. We need you," Rip said, holding up the extra Time Courier he had, and Ava sighed, knowing that if time was in flux Rip was going to need help in the present day. She took the time courier and put it on. "Good, that will be able to get you to and from the Waverider and also act as a communicator. We'll call you with plans on how to smooth out the timeline."
"I'll wait for your call," Ava sighed, and then moved off as Rip opened up a portal back to the Waverider where Miranda was waiting.
"Ava will help us," Rip said. "Now where to next?"
"The next big flux is in Vancouver," Miranda stated, having done the research while Rip was recruiting Ava; Rip raising his eyebrows in surprise at this.
Post Chapter Note: Well, if you follow us on Facebook you know this chapter was hard to write, although Sigma had fun editing it, and getting it scientifically correct for tsunamis (he's done his research, having been obsessed with them since 2004). Adding a Legends element to this plot has actually brought the entire plot together in a good way though. I hope you enjoy.
Next Time on Karry Unvierse-
The Vancouver Attack- Barry has to go to Vancouver to deliver some news about the future of the Supergirl and Flash TV show – as well as the Superman TV show. Rip and Miranda, though, have to get someone to go with him or lives could hang in the balance.
