Floor 35: Lost Forest

The pack of apes surrounded the short girl with hair in two pigtails. Above her, a blue feather dragon was flying and using its skills to heal the girl. But suddenly, she was blasted by a strike from one of Ape to a tree. Her health has dropped to the red zone.

When the Ape decided to finish her, the feathery dragon interrupted and sacrificed its life to save her life from getting hit by the Ape. This girl widened her eyes, watching her friend die in front of her teary eyes. However, she refused it as she grabbed a lifeless feathery dragon, crying over it.

"Pina! Pina!" The girl cried for her pet dragon's name, but it was too late when her pet shattered, and only one feather was left. She looked back and saw the three apes had approached, finishing her with their final blow.

She began to question herself before accepting her death. Was this the end of her life? She won't see her parents in the outside world. Suddenly, the three apes were destroyed by one person who slashed them from behind with a kunai. His identity was spiky blond hair, blue eyes, and birth-mark whiskers on his cheeks. His clothes are like combat clothes, colored black, and orange. The armor plates attached to his chest, his shoulders, and his wrists.

"P-Pina… Don't leave me alone. Pina!" The girl cried over the blue feather, calling the name once again.

Naruto came here too late, but looked at the poor girl in pity. Her feelings. Her partner. The one person he remembered was Kiba and Akamaru, who cared for each other.

"I'm sorry for not making it here in time." He apologized.

"I was stupid. I was stupid to think I could make it through the forest on my own. Thank you for saving me." The girl said.

Naruto approached her and crouched down on his knee. "No need to cry. There is a way to resurrect your dragon." He said.

"Really?" She asked.

"On the south side of Floor 47, there's a field dungeon called the Hill of Memories. I've heard that the flower can revive a pet." He said.

The girl was happy at first, but she looked down sadly when she heard Floor 47. "Floor 47… I won't survive if I go there." She muttered sadly.

"I can go there with you, but we must hurry. They can only be revived for three days after death." Naruto said, pressing the chest icon to open the inventory item. But, before doing that, he had to send an invite to the girl. "Join my party, so I can give you good equipment."

"Why would you do all this for me?" She asked.

"Because…" Naruto said, crossing his arms. "...I don't like leaving a cute, sad girl. It would be so sad to leave the girl crying over a friend. So… don't tell anybody what I said! It's embarrassing!"

The girl started to laugh at his reason, causing him to get really mad. "Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to make you mad. What's your name?" She asked.

"I'm Naruto." He said

"I'm Silica." She said.

Floor 35: Mishe

After Silica joined Naruto's party, they had to go to a safe place for them where they could sleep. Naruto could take Silica to Floor 47 fast with his pure speed, but he didn't want to reveal his chakra. It was his rule to hide his chakra from people. Right now, Naruto and Silica are walking down the street, looking for an inn for them to rest and prepare for tomorrow.

"There's Silica-chan!"

Silica heard her name as she turned around and saw two boys running toward her. They asked her if she could join up with them. "Th-That's very kind of you, but…" She paused for a bit as she looked at Naruto and suddenly grabbed his arm. "...I'll be in a party with him for a while. Sorry."

She then walked and pulled Naruto away from the two boys, ignoring their jealousy. Silica sighed in relief, and she looked at Naruto.

"Your fans?" Naruto asked.

"No… They just want me along as a mascot." Silica said, feeling stressed and sad as her eyes shed tears. "But I got full of myself when they began to call me… Dragon Tamer Silica…"

"Don't worry. We'll make it in time." Naruto said with a smile as he pinched her cheeks and grabbed the edges of her mouth. He forced a smile on her face. "Come on! Give me your smile! Laugh!"

Getting pinched by him, Silica smiled and laughed that she enjoyed herself. She wiped the tears she had left and smiled again at him, who smiled at him. A funny thought in her mind was that Naruto acted like a big brother to her. His height is taller than her height which makes sense why she thinks of him as a big brother to her.

They made it to the inn, but first, Silica made a plan of what she wanted to do. She told Naruto that she wanted to eat it there because her favorite dessert is there. Naruto and Silica were going to enter the inn, but a person approached them with a slick smile on her face. Her hair is red, and her clothes are black.

"Oh, if it isn't Silica."

Silica saw the woman with red hair, so she looked down to avoid her face. Without realizing that Naruto was still here, he looked at the woman with red hair but his gaze left her for Silica, who looked to be almost sad and knew that woman before. He didn't have a chance to ask Silica when she shook her head from side to side, saying that it was nothing.

"Huh? What happened to the lizard? Could something..." The woman said, giving Silica a dark smile.

"Pina's dead. But I will bring him back to life, Rosalia!" She said with a determined expression on her face.

"Then you're going to Hill of Memories, but at your level, will you be able to clear it?" Rosalia asked.

Silica looked down with a depressed expression on her face, having a feeling that Rosalia was right about her level. Her courage and determination were losing in the moment until her head tilted up, and she saw Naruto standing up for her.

"She will. You won't know unless you try." Naruto said while staring at Rosalia. "So, a bitch with red hair and a pretty smallmouth."

"What did you say-?"

"Come on, Silica." He interrupted her and didn't want to waste her time here.

He and Silica left Rosalia for the inn to eat. They ordered the food except for Naruto, who ordered different food. Of course, he ordered his favorite food, ramen, in his life. Silica watched him in shock, eating ten bowls of ramen.

"Is that… healthy? How can you eat all that?" She said.

Naruto's eyes beamed with anger and shock at Silica's remark about ramen. "How could you say that!? Ramen is a gift to all of mankind!" He said, showing his emotions towards the girl.

"But, ramen is extremely unhealthy. You should be eating healthy food. Like fruits and vegetables." Silica said.

"What about you?! You're eating the cheesecake now! It's sweet!" He said, pointing his finger at the cheesecake Silica was eating.

"Well, I'm a good girl who doesn't eat a lot of sweets like you." Silica said.

Naruto and Silica glared at each other for a couple of minutes. Then, both of them bursted out laughing at each other, holding their stomachs after they complained about healthy food. Silica didn't get why she was laughing with Naruto, but it didn't matter now. She had a great time with him, having a feeling that he acted like a big brother to her.

"Silica, correct me if I'm wrong. You were in Rosalia's group before, right?" Naruto asked.

"Yes, but I left her group because she never fought. She won't lend me a healing crystal when I ask her because I have Pina who can heal me. However, Pina's healing skill wasn't enough to heal my health… That's why I left her..." Silica said, clenching her hands in anger about Rosalia for using her and Pina. "Why is she so mean?"

Naruto looked through the window, watching Rosalia and her group walk away, but his gaze left them for Silica. "Silica, if she sees you and changes her mind, do not go with her." He said.

"Eh? Why?" She asked.

"Because I don't trust her. There's something very fishy about her when she told you about Hill of Memories. I don't like the sounds of that." He said.

"He's right, you know."

Naruto and Silica heard a voice as they turned to their right and found a man with a black cloak. He was a familiar person with black hair and a sword on his back. Naruto recognized him as Kirito, who joined in the lead group with him and Asuna.

"Kirito?! What are you doing here?" Naruto asked with a smile as he and Kirito both did a fist bump. "Silica, this is my old friend, Kirito. Kirito, meet Silica."

"I just need a rest here tonight. It's nice to meet you, Silica." He said as he sat on a seat and joined with two. "In any online game, a lot of people's personalities change. Some enjoy playing as outright villains. Our player indicator are green." He pointed his finger at the green indicator above his head.

"I see…" Naruto thought while looking at his own green indicator.

"However, if you commit a crime, the indicator will turn orange. The worst criminals, player killers, those who've killed someone are known as red players." Kirito said. "Speaking of you two, are you two in the group?"

"Just me and her. I'm going to help her find the revived flower." Naruto answered.

"A revival flower? You mean the Pneuma Flower that brings back tamed beasts? You're heading to the Hill of Memories, on Floor 47?" He asked, but he realized that Naruto is helping the girl, Silica. "I see. I'm sorry for your loss, Silica. I didn't know, but don't you worry. Naruto is a great guy."

"Thank you and it's ok." Silica said.

"Ok… How do I use this…?" Naruto said to himself while observing the gold sphere. He got the item from his friend, Sashi.

He's a shinobi, but he has a lot of things that he needs to learn. Luckily, he read the instructions about the gold sphere while reading Sashi's message. He pressed the button and then a hologram lightened up a map.

"Wow. Wish we had that in our world." Son admitted, looking in awes at the map.

Naruto nodded and looked in awe at the map he received from Sashi. "Huh?" Before he opened the map, he saw a message icon pop up in seconds.

After a couple minutes of reading the map, Naruto is out of his bedroom and on his way to Silica's room. He knocked on the door and heard Silica's voice.

"N-Naruto!?" Silica sounded very surprised at his arrival.

"I forgot to tell you about the 47th floor. Would tomorrow be better?" He asked before he heard Silica's footsteps running toward this door he knocked. But, suddenly, he heard her squeak, causing him to blink his eyes at her squeak.

The door was opened for Naruto and he saw Silica dressed up in pajamas. Her face was really red after she let out a squeak. Right now, she just sat on the bed and waited for him to say what he had to say.

"Something wrong?" Naruto asked while lifting the table as he placed it down in front of Silica's bed.

"No, don't mind me!" Silica said, waving her hands before she went into confusion when she saw him take out the sphere. He pressed the button and then it created a hologram of the map. "Wow! It's so pretty!" She amazed.

Naruto started to point at the map where Floor 47 was. "Here is the Floor 47 town area. And this is the Hill of Memories. We can take that-" He dropped the sentence and stopped when he sensed the presence behind the door.

Before Silica could ask Naruto what's wrong, Naruto suddenly dashed toward the door and left the Yellow Flash color behind him. He grabbed someone's head and slammed against the wooden wall, cracking the wood. It was a thug with black bandana and green sleeveless shirt.

The shinobi pulled out a kunai and touched the man's neck with a blade. "Well, well. Someone likes to listen to us by sneaking behind the door." He said with a smile, but his smile started to fade. "Tell me. Who ordered you to sneak on us?"

"I-I ain't telling you." A thug said somewhat fearfully before he felt the blade touch his neck. When he looked at the blond man, his eyes had changed into red demonic eyes and warned him that he's going to kill him.

"You want to see what happened." Naruto threatened.

"Okay, okay! I'll tell you. It was Rosalia. I'm telling the truth!" He admitted.

"Good. I'll let you go. You can tell Rosalia everything, so you can save yourself but..." He moved a kunai away from a thug's neck, but he gave him one last glare. "...never show your filthy face to us again." He let a thug go, watching him run away from him.

"Wh-What was that?" Silica asked as she stood by the door, looking so shocked at the thug who listened behind the door. Not only she was just shocked that she found a thug, she picked another one at Naruto when he dashed toward him very fast.

"He heard us, so I let him go and tell his boss. But, we won't see him again." Naruto replied as he walked back to Silica's room. When Silica entered her room, he closed the door behind her.

"But unless you've knocked, you can't hear through the door." She said.

"I'm guessing that people can have listening skills." He said.

"Why would they want to listen in on us?" She asked.

"Naruto! Silica! Are you two alright?!" That was Kirito's voice, who just ran from his bedroom and heard the noises.

"Yeah, we're alright. Seems like someone wants to get a flower too." Naruto said.

The next day, Naruto and Silica arrived on Floor 47 from the teleportation. Silica was amazed at the place she's in, she saw a large garden and a lot of players doing romance. She just noticed they're doing romance, but she couldn't be bothered by that. The beast tamer looked at Naruto, who petted her head and treated her like a sister. It was a weird feeling at first, but she liked it when she thought about it.

"Ready?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah!" Silica said with determination.

As the two have begun their journey to Hill of Memories, a weird tentacle monster appeared under Silica and picked her up into the air. This girl screamed for help while swinging her knife, but she wasn't close enough to attack a monster.

"Silica! That monster is really weak!" Naruto yelled, looking at the level of a tentacle monster.

"N-Naruto, save me! Don't look, but save me!" Silica screamed.

Naruto had his eyes covered by his hand, not looking at Silica's underwear. "How am I going to save you without looking!?" He asked.

"Stupid thing! That's enough!" Silica sliced the tentacle off with a knife as she dove towards the monster. She stabbed its face and it instantly died by one hit because it's weak what Naruto said. After this, she held a red robe that covered her butt and turned around to look at Naruto with a blush on her face.

Naruto narrowed his eyes in curiosity at Silica's face until he realized what she meant as he waved his hands. "I didn't see it! I promised! Anyways, we should keep going!" He said as he turned away and continued to walk.

So, after an hour later, the two adventurers have reached the end of the path. They found a floating pot, surrounded by four pillars. When Silica came close to the pot, she saw the flower instantly grow itself into bloom. This beautiful magic made her so happy because she could use it to revive her pet, Pina. She never thought she would come this far.

"Go ahead and take it." Naruto said.

Silica nodded as she grabbed the flower and revealed its call "Pneuma Flower". This will bring Pina back, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, but there are lots of strong monsters around here. Let's revive her after we get back to town. I'm sure Pina'd prefer it that way." He said while looking around his surroundings if the players were here. His surroundings are cleared and nobody is watching, so he decided to do a shortcut instead of walking back.

Silica wondered why Naruto was smiling until now he did a bridal style to her in his arms. Her face went super red and wanted to know why he carried her like this.

"Silica, hold me tight." Naruto said.

"What?" Silica asked before Naruto held her body and they both vanished in a yellow flash. Silica and Naruto both appeared back to the place where they came from a small bridge. As Silica got off of him, she staggered a bit until she fell down on her butt.

Naruto helped Silica get back up on her feet and this is where Silica asked him some questions.

"H-How? What? How did you get us back here so fast?" Silica asked while looking around, but she looked at Naruto. "Why didn't you use that in the first place?"

"Because I don't want to reveal my true level to anyone. I'm sorry that I had to hide from you until now I trust you. Let's forget about that. Right now, you have a Pneuma Flower in your hands." Naruto said with a smile as he patted his hand on Silica's head gently. "You should be proud of yourself."

"I am, but I understand your secret, Naruto. However, thank you for saving my friend Pina! You really helped me!" She smiled, her tone was happy.

Naruto smiled back at her and began to walk back to the inn with Silica, but he stopped here and grabbed her shoulder to stop from walking toward the safe. "Whoever's behind these trees, come out." He called out someone to come out.

The person behind the trees decided to come out from a hiding spot. It appeared to be a woman with red hair and black clothes, welding the back spear.

"If you can see me through my hiding skill, your detection must be quite high." Rosalia said, looking at the Pneuma Flower that Silica is holding. "It appears you managed to get Pneuma Flower. Congratulations. Now, hand it over." She demanded.

"Wh-What are you talking about?" Silica asked, shocking.

"That isn't going to happen, Rosalia." Naruto said, walking in front of Silica to defend her from Rosalia. "I know who exactly you are. You're the leader of the guild, Titan's Hand."

"So, you've heard about me. I take it that you found out yesterday." Rosalia said.

"Yes, my friend messaged me about that guild. Ten days ago, you attacked a guild called the Silver Fang. Four people died, but the leader survived." He said.

"Oh, the ones with no money." She said.

"The leader tried to beg someone to avenge them. But, he didn't want you killed." Naruto said. "He wanted to jail you. Can you understand how he felt?"

"Nope… What kind of idiot would take this seriously? There's no proof that killing someone here means they die in real life. Anyway, shouldn't you be more concerned for yourselves?" Rosalia smirked as she snapped her fingers as six players walked out from the trees. The six players have orange marks above their heads.

"Naruto, there are too many! We should run!" Silica said.

Naruto turned around to Silica and patted her head with a smile calmly. "It's alright. Stay put and watch me." He said as he began to walk toward them.

Rosalia thought the blonde was out of his mind, so she ordered the party to attack him. The party began to charge at Naruto, raising their swords and ready to slash at him. As the shinobi walked calmly and saw them get close in his distance, he dodged their slashes by simply moving his body. He grabbed two men's arms and kicked them in their stomachs. He threw them into the others that were going to attack him from behind.

Naruto looked at the enemies' health bars, they still have green bars, but it isn't full health. He went light on him because he didn't want to kill them.

"What are you doing?! Kill him!" Rosalia said, shouting at them.

"Is that all you got? Your attacks are so slow. Even my younger self can dodge this." Naruto said as he looked at the men that tried to attack him. "We could do this one more time, but you won't beat me that easily." He cracked his knuckles, but he took out a blue crystal instead of fighting them.

The shinobi showed the thugs a blue crystal. "My friend gave me this before you came. It's set to take you to the prison. You're all going there." He said as he looked at Rosalia.

"I'm green, so if you hurt me, you'll go orange-" Rosalia was prepared to fight, but she got interrupted by Naruto when he dashed toward her very fast. Naruto had a kunai under her neck, threatening her.

"Just want you to know that I could kill you right now. Even if you're a woman, I could still kill you." He threatened as Rosalia dropped her spear and surrendered.

Rosalia and her group disbanded the guild after Naruto threatened them. He put them in prison. Naruto and Silica went back to the inn, so it's safe for Silica to use the revive item for Pina. Naruto thanked Kirito for giving him a warp crystal.

"Sorry, Silica… For not telling you. I thought you'd be scared if I told you about myself. I'm sure you have a lot of questions." Naruto apologized.

Silica shook her head and smiled at him. "You're a good person, so I wouldn't be scared. There's no need to have you explain it to me." She said before her head got ruffled by Naruto's hand as she laughed at him. "I would add funny points to you!"

"You know, it's fun to have a party with you." Naruto said.

"Right! The lead group is amazing. I could never be one, even if I tried for years." She said with a smile. "Next time, let's meet in the real world!"

Naruto felt the hurt in his heart that he won't be seeing her in the real world. Not only her, but his friends he made. It would be sad for him that he had to leave them, but he could find a way to get him back to this world.

"Oh yes, Naruto! Your secret will be safe with me! I won't tell anybody about you!" Silica said with a warm smile.

"Thank you, Silica. Now then, let's revive Pina." He said.

Naruto took a break under a tree as he looked up at the sky, chilling around and looking at the monsters. Stretching out his arms Naruto received a small window of message from his good friend, Keita. With a little seriousness on his face he opened the message and read what was inside.

"Laughing Coffin?" Naruto mumbled, reading the warning words from Keita.

It sounded pretty serious and threatening. Well, he never heard of that guild named Laughing Coffin, but they murdered innocent people as he continued to read the message. The guild was formed not so long ago, it was a month ago.

After reading the message, Naruto got up from his break and had to finish his business. He needed to beat the bosses, but he didn't want to blow up his secret since the game creator saw his movements. Maybe it wasn't, but he had to be careful of it.

Timeskip.

April 11, 2014. Floor 50: Algade.

Kirito and a familiar girl with orange-brownish chestnut hair walked into the town, searching for his old friend who could help them to find a murder. That familiar girl is Asuna. She wore a red and white uniform. Her rapier sheathed was hung on her left hips. A short story about her, she has joined the top guild, Knights of the Blood. She has changed since Naruto and Kirito left her when the first floor cleared.

Right now, Kirito and Asuna have arrived at the weapon shop. As they planned to go in, one player just left the shop and seemed to be very disappointed with the shop owner.

"Thank you! Come again!"

Kirito smirked when he heard his old friend's voice as he entered the weapon shop. "Seems you're just as greedy as ever." He said as the man turned around to him and revealed to be Agil.

"Yo, Kirito. Buy cheap and sell cheap. That's my motto." Agil said as he and Kirito gave a fist pump to each other. However, he noticed Asuna, who came inside his shop with Kirito. "Wh-What's going on, Kirito?! You're a solo player, so what're you doing here with Asuna? Didn't you two not get along?!"

Asuna just laughed awkwardly while hearing two men were mumbling about her. "Can we just forget about that?" She asked kindly.

After several minutes later, both three went into the bedroom to have Agil examine the red sword they have found from the murder. They explained to him what happened in Floor 59: Danac. The murder used the red sword to kill innocent player, but it was impossible. Innocent player was killed in a safe area which was not allowed to kill.

"Someone's HP dropped to zero within a safe area? And it wasn't a duel?" Agil asked.

"No one saw a Winner message." Kirito said.

"If he was walking with Yoruko right before, then it's not a sleep-PK." Asuna said.

"We can assume it was a premeditated PK. And so, we come to this." He showed a red sword to Agil. He grabbed a red sword and pressed the button to see who created this sword.

"It's a player-made weapon. Grimrock." Agil said a person's name. "Never heard of them… Not any top-ranked bladesmith, I can tell you that. And there's nothing particularly unusual about the weapon."

"Can you tell us the item name?" Asuna asked.

"Guilty Thorn is its listed name." He passed a sword back to Kirito. After he finished examining a sword, the door was knocked from the main room where he worked and interrupted their conversation.

He went downstairs to check out who knocked on the door, but he was surprised when he found a blond man.

"Yo." Naruto greeted, waving his hand to him.

"Oh! Naruto!" He smiled at his old friend.

The next day. Floor 57: Martin.

After Naruto met his old friends, he was invited by Kirito and Asuna to join up with them. He accepted their invitation and joined them to find the murderer. The two explained to him what happened in Floor Martin.

They were supposed to meet a witness at the restaurant. A woman who witnessed the murder scene. A 18 year old girl named Yoruko, with slightly curly, deep-blue hair and blue eyes. She wore a light blue tunic with a chestguard, knee-length, brown shorts and dark leggings.

"Hey, Yoruko-san, have you ever heard the name 'Grimrock?'" Asuna spoke a person's name, surprising Yoruko.

"Yes. He was a member of the guild that Kains and I were once in." Yoruko said.

"When we had the spear stuck in Kains's chest appraised, we found out that it was made by Grimrock." Kirito said.

Naruto just sat on the chair while listening to the conversation, he was so lost that he didn't know what's going on. Someone got murdered yesterday. Talking about Grimrock who made a sword. He wasn't too smart about investigating the murder case. Not really the smartest and detective man in the world. However, he could sense a lie from Yoruko. It was way easier than his thoughts. He used Kurama's ability to detect her lies. So, without doubting, Yoruko must have acted.

He could tell Kirito and Asuna right now if he wanted to, but he didn't because he wanted to know why Yoruko wanted to do this. So, he went along with her plan until there was a reason why.

"I don't know why you said yes and joined them. You should have said no." Shuhaku said, feeling a little annoyed. "You know she's lying and acting. You could tell them right now. Second, you need to clear out the floors. Don't ever forget."

"That reminds me… Hey guys, do you all remember when I killed bosses? Don't you guys feel like I'm being watched?" Naruto asked.

"Why do you ask that-oh..." Matatabi realized what he meant.

"No joke. You're being watched by the creator of a game, but he doesn't know we're inside you." Kurama said as Naruto nodded, agreeing with them that he's being watched by Kayaba.

The shinobi looked at Kirito, Asuna, and Yoruko that he supposedly focused on. The three were still talking about the murder case except him who knew that Yoruko was acting. So, he just stayed low until Kirito and Asuna left the cafe. However, they left now as exactly as he thought.

Since Yoruko's still here, Naruto wanted to talk with her, so he told the two to go ahead without him. He stayed behind and wanted to have a talk with Yoruko. A real talk.

"N-Naruto?" Yoruko asked, wondering why this man stayed behind.

"You can stop acting now. Though, I admit your acting is great." He said. "So tell me, what's your plan?"

"Yoruko!" Kirito cried out when he saw her body stabbed by the knife in her back. He and Naruto quickly dashed towards her, but it was too late. Her body hit the ground and she shattered into a million pieces.

"So, this is her plan." Naruto thought as he looked at a man in armor named Schmitt, who looked so shocked in horror. He didn't have time to stand, but he followed Yoruko's plan.

He and Kirito quickly scanned the roof to see if the person who threw the weapon was still around. They found a hooded figure jumping through the roof. They chased the hooded figure before it could escape.

They managed to get close to the distance between a hooded figure, but the figure took out a teleportation crystal. Kirito cursed, so he threw the three iron needles at the figure, but the needles bounced back as a purple barrier appeared to protect the murder.

"So, he's teleporting where he could meet Yoruko." Naruto thought.

Floor 19: Cross Hill

"You recorded it?" Schmitt asked, looking at both Kains and Yoruko who were holding a recording crystal. After Schmitt went to Griseld's grave to ask for forgiveness, for what he had done, that he was one of the reasons she died. However, he was surprised to see both two, alive and well. "I see. So that's how it is. You cared that much about Griselda, but..." He found a person with blond spiky hair he didn't know.

"Told you all that he isn't the one." Naruto said as he put his hands on the back of his head. "He's telling us the truth. He didn't hate her." He looked at Kains and Yoruko.

"You three must be the group of Laughing Coffin. I heard about it." Naruto said, still locking the man on the ground as he looked at the other two. "I've faced the worst people before. If you two are going to face me, I have no problem fighting you two."
