I like Sprite, don't get me wrong.
Will sat down next to me, while the rest of our friends piled onto the couch. I was quite sure Annabeth was sitting on top of Piper and Percy at this point, trying to fit. Frank and Hazel played it smart by sitting on the floor just like Will and I did.
Annabeth pointed the remote at the television. 'Okay...'
Wait, stop!' Annabeth glared at Leo, who want on anyway: 'We are having a movie night. We are all together. We are going to watch Transformers, which is one of the best movies ever made…'
'Leo, how high are you?'
'As I said, Piper, one of the best movies ever made. We've got flavoured and buttered popcorn and then…' He took a deep breath, 'The only one who thought to bring drinks brought Sprite.'
Everyone silently stared at him. Annabeth turned back to the television, which we had smuggled into Percy's cabin on the risk of death (Except not really. I knew Dionysus had noticed us, he just couldn't care less). 'Someone else got something important to say, or shall I press start on this piece of trash?'
'Start.'
'I've got nothin'.'
'We crucify people who talk through movie night in camp Jupiter.'
Leo rolled his eyes. 'Okay, okay, just turn the movie on.'
I turned around and patted him on his hand. 'It's okay, it was kinda funny.' Leo shrugged, eyes already glued to the scream, even though it was only showing snow at the moment.
I snuggled closer to Will and adjusted our floorpillows. 'Can you hand me one of those cans of Sprite?' I asked. Will nodded and handed me a can. I popped it open and the film could begin.
Except it didn't. The old television was not receiving the right signals and kept showing snow. Reyna sighed and slumped down on the couch. 'Leo?' The rest chimned in: 'Leo? Can you fix it?'
He got a little smirk on his face. 'I could. I very much could.'
Hazel giggled. The rest rolled their eyes, until Annabeth got up and walked to the television. 'If anybody can lend me a hand, we should be able to fix this thing.'
I wanted to open my mouth to tell Will we would be getting a show after all, but he unsnuggled from me to go help Annabeth. Tsk. Flatout annoying sometimes, how helpful my guy was.
With my can of Sprite, I climbed onto the couch, where only Leo, Thalia and I were sitting now.
I took a sip. 'Eh… still a show, I guess?' I mumbled, suddenly less sure that it was funny. Thalia snickered. 'I guess so.'
Leo looked up. 'You only guess so? I know so. Look at them stumbling around. They just need my guidance.'
Thalia rolled her eyes. 'Of course, Leo, where would we be without you?'
'Dead. No Argo II without me, Thalia.'
She shrugged, but didn't give a reply.
After a few minutes, Thalia pulled her legs up onto the couch and looked at me. 'Anyway, now that we are sitting here anyway: I haven't seen you in a while.'
'I could say the same about you.'
'Strange how that works,' Leo mumbled. We ignored him.
'They told me you are going through therapy now.'
'I am.'
'If I may say it, you look better than you did a year ago.'
I blinked. 'What?'
'Exactly that.'
Leo looked up. 'You actually do, Nico. She might be the first one to say it out loud, but to me, and I know for a fact to other people as well, you have been looking happier. Healthier.'
'I do?'
'Yeah.' Thalia got a can of Sprite from the table, which got her a disgusted look from Leo. 'Also because of things like being here with all of us. You used to always say no.'
I thought for a moment. I had said nothing but yes this time. I didn't see why I wouldn't come to movie night with all my friends. Yet, I could remember saying no a few times, out of fear? Discomfort? 'Eh… now that you say it.'
'Well, yes.'
Leo shrugged. 'We agreed to keep inviting you, though.'
'Thanks. I think that already helped.' I thought of the past and realised that they were right. Only about half a year ago did I really begin to say yes every month for the We-saved-their-asses-get-together.
'I didn't think people noticed I was feeling better. I mean, I sure felt it, but I never realised it was so noticeable.'
'Well, it is,' Leo muttered.
'For me too, even if I haven't seen you in a bit,' Thalia agreed.
'Yes.'
We got quiet, while I thought of this. After a few seconds and a cheer from the television hackers, Leo took a deep, defeated breath and picked up one of the Sprite cans.
I sunk down onto the floor, onto the blanket Will and I had been sitting under. Annabeth took a satisfied breath and turned on the TV to watch some of the garbage humanity had created. Again, I snuggled closer to Will, who put an arm around my waist.
'Won't that arm go numb, eventually?'
'Perhaps.' With a wink, he got a bag of popcorn from the table. 'Here. Want some popcorn?'
I nodded. 'Absolutely.'
'Glad to hear that.' He looked at the screen. 'Glad you got your appetite back. I don't think I said that yet.'
'You too?'
'Me too?'
'Will! Nico! Don't know what you're whispering about, but do it quieter!'
'And no situations!' Leo yelled over that. I think Piper kicked him against the shins for that and I wholeheartedly agreed with her.
'Me too?'
'Thalia and Leo just said they saw I was happier now. I didn't know it was so noticable.'
'It kind of is, Nico. But that is only a good thing.'
I looked at the first robot on screen. 'I think it is,' I whispered back. 'I think it is good.'
'Nico! Will! Silencio!'
'Ye-hes. Nico, remember, we want you to be happy. Now lets indulge.' Will took a sip of Sprite.
I stuffed a handful of popcorn into my mouth. Yes, I sure felt like indulging.
A/N: Okay I got the 'We see you look happier' and Nico being surprised about it from my own experience. I had no idea other people would be happy if I was getting better, or that it would be so noticable to them. I know now.
I think Leo's role might be a little too much like canon, which isn't very good. Anyway,,,
I never saw transformers. It just feels like something Leo would love and Nico would hate.
