A/N: That other bonus thing that I would upload.
Supposedly I had therapy today, yet I knew I shouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled at the last minute. Dionysus wasn't sitting on the porch of the Big House. When I went inside, there was no-one there, either.
'Dionysus?'
Upstairs, someone was walking around. A few seconds later, Dionysus came down the stairs. He was as white as a sheet and generally looked like he hadn't slept well the last couple of days. 'Nico…'
I took a deep breath. 'Eh… I think… we won't be doing therapy today. I just wanted to... eh, I'll leave.'
He leaned onto a chair, slowly shaking his head. 'Is there something particularly bothering you?'
'No, I think.'
He tried to smile and failed miserably. 'It's okay that you came to check if you really didn't have to come.'
I slowly nodded. 'I…' I wanted to say something, anything, but I didn't really know what. 'I… met Dakota a few times.' I didn't look him in the eye. 'I travelled between camp Jupiter and such. The fifth cohort wasn't exactly the best, but he and Gwendolyn did try to make the most of it.' I wondered how Gwendolyn was doing right now. Anyway: 'And well, that seemed to have worked out. Eventually, the cohort delivered a few generals, and now…' I shrugged, feeling stupid that I was telling all this. 'I think everyone is missing him.'
Dionysus looked at me. 'Thanks, Nico. It's not… I…' He sighed. 'The thing is, Dakota isn't my kid, but at the same time he is. I feel sad, but that can't be just me.'
'So... bachus, too?'
He winced and nodded. 'He was a good kid, Dakota.'
'Yes.'
'Like you said.'
That sounded a little like normal Dionysus. 'Well… yes.' I took a deep breath. 'We'll miss him. All of us.' I said that already. 'I'll… see you next time.'
He nodded. I inched backwards and stepped out of the big house.
The sun was shining outside. I wondered whether they saw it in Camp Jupiter, too. And if Lester did so. It felt like we would be seeing him again, soon. Once again there was little time to think about our losses.
A/N: Why is Kool-aid both a theme for Dakota and May Castellan. Like why (May makes Kool-aid all day for Luke, it says in The Last Olympian. I am pretty sure people expected a Dakota chapter when I first uploaded 'Red Kool-aid' and 'Purple Kool-aid.'
