I'm back with another story. This one is one I've been wanting to do for awhile now so hopefully it's good.

Big shoutout to 'TheChamp123' for helping me out with this. Check out his profile if you get a chance.

This is an AU so obviously not everything is going to be the same as canon. This isn't chakra Naruto either, so don't expect it.

If you want to join the discord server some fellow authors and I are in, feel free. We talk about random things, post lewds, and talk about what story we're working on. Here's the link: wvQKwPPt

DISCLAIMER- I don't own Naruto or My Hero Academia

U.A. High School, a prestigious institution that helps mold the youth of Japan to become heroes. The students here spend three years honing their quirks, studying to become heroes, and taking part in exercises that will help prepare them for when they graduate. Even though U.A. is known for its hero courses, there are still other options available.

Today though, the hero course has the spotlight. Today is the practical exam to determine whether students get enrolled in the hero course or not. Sitting in a large lecture hall with students all around him awaiting to take the practical exam, Naruto Uzumaki sat calmly, facing forward, waiting for the event to begin.

With the lights of the room he's in dimmed, he couldn't really make out much of the other people in front of him. Sitting in a large row, facing the only well lit place in the room, the stage, Naruto idly noted that it kind of reminded him of a stage he'd might see at a concert. With the long rows of seats in front of him and around him though, the room they're in to be told the rules of the practical exam reminds him of those rooms he'd see in a college.

At 15 years old, Naruto stood at 175cm, with spiky blonde hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin. As he sat and waited for the rules to be given, he heard excited murmurs all around him. On the outside, he may have appeared calm, but if someone were to look more closely at him, then they'd be able to see him tapping his foot against the ground repeatedly. Being excited himself, he could understand, but he wanted to be as focused as he could be for the exam which is why he was tapping his foot constantly. Maybe he'd share classes with some of these people. If so, he could just talk to them then.

With his quirk, telekinesis, he was sure that the exam wouldn't be hard, but he wanted to play it safe. Even though he's confident about his quirk, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous. He was about to take an exam that determined if he got into the hero course or not after all.

His mom made sure to tell him that even though he had a strong quirk, make sure he took it seriously. Ever since he could remember, people had always been in awe of how strong his quirk was and could be once he started to train it seriously. A small reason why he'd trained his quirk so much was so he wouldn't let any of those people down.

Coming out of his thoughts, he noticed a familiar face sitting ro the left of him.

"Katsuki" He greeted with a small incline of his head.

"Naruto" Bakugo greeted back. "Listen, I'm going to make this quick. You're one of the few people our age I respect, so make sure you pass this exam." He finished, using his rare calm voice.

"Same goes to you, Bakugo. Both of our quirks are strong so it'd be embarrassing if either of us failed." Naruto said with a slight chuckle.

"I agree. Well anyways, I'll talk to you later." Bakugo said, before falling silent and focusing forward again

'Well that was nice of him to come over here' Naruto thought to himself amusedly. With their moms being good friends, he'd known Katsuki his whole life. They used to be good friends, but when their quirks awakened, Katsuki started to slowly change until eventually he started picking on their other classmate at the time, Izuku Midoriya. With him sticking up whenever he could for the quirkless Izuku, Katsuki started to slowly stop hanging out with him. Ever since then, they drifted apart from being good friends to now having a mutual respect for each other.

Shaking his head to lose the stray thoughts, he noticed a weirdly dressed man take the stage. The man was tall with long blond hair, which he wore spiked upwards in a large tuft behind his head, and a small brown mustache. Noticing the man as the hero 'Present Mic', he assumed the exam was about to start.

"What's up, U.A. candidates? It's me, Present Mic! Make some noise!" He started off in a boisterous tone, holding his hand to his ear at the end of the sentence.

Silence

Naruto, seeing that no one even bothered to make any noise couldn't help but chuckle. He'd have to give it to the guy though, trying to get everyone's blood pumping.

"Playing it cool, huh?" Present Mic said, seemingly not fazed by the lack of reaction. "Well that's fine, let's talk about how the practical exam is going to go down. You will be conducting ten minute mock urban battles." He started off, making sure everyone was following along.

'Ten minutes, huh? I wonder how much I can do in that time.' Naruto idly thought, before hearing Present Mic start again.

"Three different types of faux villains are stationed in each battle center. You'll earn points on each depending on the difficulty. Your goal is to use your quirk to earn points by immobilizing the faux villains," Present Mic said, showing them on a screen what he's talking about before he continued.

"Additionally there is another type of faux villain you may come across, with this one though it's worth zero points. It's an obstacle and there's one in every battle center. It's not impossible to defeat, but there's no real reason to defeat it either. I recommend that you try to avoid it." He said, making sure everyone understood the rules before he finished off with "That's all from me. Go beyond, plus ultra!"

'Now that I've heard the rules, I can't wait to start. From the sound of it, it sounds like my quirk will be useful in this exam.' Naruto thought to himself, eager to start already with his foot tapping even faster now. Glancing over at Katsuki, he can tell that he feels the same way. They're both eager to show what they can do.

As he stood in front of the big door in battle ground C waiting for the timer to go off so they could start the test, Naruto thought back to what he learned from the rules. Immobilizing the 'villains' is what he was going for, but if he saw someone getting overwhelmed, he wouldn't think twice about rushing to step in and save them. He wouldn't be a very good hero if he saw someone needing help and did nothing about it after all.

As for the zero point 'villain', he wasn't too sure what to think about it. Obviously if he saw someone struggling with it, he'd definitely step in. If he came across it and there's no one around, he wasn't sure if he'd try to fight it or not. Granted if they are an obstacle, then they must be pretty strong. If that's the case and he felt like he'd taken care of enough of the ones with points, he'd try to fight it to test his limits. Clearing his head, he saw the door open, and he quickly ran ahead of the group to start the test.

Naruto never knew a time where he couldn't feel his quirk, his intense power that could crush most things to scrap with just a simple thought. The unfortunate robots of this test never stood a chance. The blond didn't even have to look their way, as they exploded in a shower of oil and metal.

Scratching his whiskered cheek, eyes glowing ominously as more and more started to surround him. Looking as if they were keen on avenging their destroyed brethren.

"Oh? You've decided to work together huh? Shame" Naruto's hair started to move from the output of his power. Destroyed bits of rubble floated by his side momentarily before being reduced to dust from the immense pressure "I'm afraid it won't be enough but please. Do try your best. That'll make it more fun for me"

A metallic fist stopped mere inches from striking his cheek. Gears groaned in agony, it's body started to overheat, as dents started to appear all over its body. It's single glowing red eye cracked, the rest of its body soon followed suit. It's body folded in on itself. It was gruesome to see happen to a machine, the thoughts of this happening to a living being was too much.

Seeing as one on one wasn't going to work four machines charged at once, proposing a better challenge for the whiskered blond.

He dodged and weaved, smiling lazily with his arms crossed. Snickering as he felt like some of the moves he was pulling reminded him of the matrix.

Skidding to a stop, Naruto crossed his arms in front of his body, eyes narrowing dangerously. Everything around him seemed to take a green tint.

"Time for the scrap pile boys. Better luck next year huh?" Naruto shot his arms out word, the street beneath his cracked and crumbled.

It was lucky there was no one else nearby or else they could have suffered the same fate as the machines by accident.

Destroyed.

Naruto clapped his hands with a satisfied look in his eye. He was sure that he had more than enough points with what he's done so far.

"Now what else should I do?" The whiskered blond murmured to himself as he used his powers to float lazily in the air.

BBBBOOOOMMMMM!

Naruto's eyes widened comically as he felt himself be pushed forward by the force of the explosion. A quick glance over his shoulder left him in a deadpan state with what looked like a slight sweat drop.

"Well now that's just ridiculously big" Naruto managed to get out a single quip, before the behemoth swiped it's arm forward, intent on taking him out. Getting out of the way of the swipe, he watched as it tore through buildings like paper. 'Yeah, that'd definitely take me out if it hit me'. He thought before he went into the direction the swipe came from.

Thanks to years of parkour and mastery of his power he was able to run through the collapsing scraps of the building and it's debris. The deeper into the danger he got, the larger his smile grew. Eyes shining with a newfound determination and exhilaration. Adrenaline coursing through his veins.

Brief beams of light shone like mighty swords, fighting against the shadow. With a mighty swipe right of his hand, Naruto removed everything blocking his path, smirking as the light finally hit his face.

Greenish blue eyes shining with glee as he was now at eye level with the Zero pointer.

"Oi, Don't mistake me for the others. A pile of junk like yourself is no match for me. Know your place, trash!" He yelled out. The adrenaline and excitement of the battle was making him act similar to his old friend, Katsuki he idly thought.

The giant machinery's eight red eyes glowed furry. Once again it swiped it's arm across in a dangerous arc, destroying the building completely and hopefully it's target.

Naruto with his powers proved to be too swift, running up the machinery's arm, giving himself a boost with his telekinesis to sling shot himself at sonic speed.

A deep grunt rattled his chest, as he landed roughly. Feeling cool metal against his warm hand.

Once again he was completely covered by a deep green energy, his hands held out as if he was gripping something. Naruto's arms bulged as he slowly pulled, the Zero pointers head, twitched and spasmed. Large amounts of oil, trailing down its front plating.

"RrrrrraaaaAAAAAGGHHHHH!!!!" The whiskered blond fiercely bellowed as he decapitated the machine. Grinning as he used it's dome as a floating platform. Out of breath from using his quirk so much and against something as big as the zero pointer, he stood there till he was good to go again.

Now that he beat the behemoth, he can definitely say he's glad he decided to confront it. Now that he has a rough estimate on what his limit is, he can train more so that he can surpass it and eventually be able to take something out like the zero pointer with no problems. Granted even taking it out, it's not his total limit because he can still keep going, it still took a lot out of him. Realizing he had about two minutes left of the exam, he decided he would go and see if anyone needed any help.

Two weeks have passed since Naruto took the practical exam. After dealing with the zero pointer, he went around to see if he could see anyone that needed any help. After he saved two people from getting overwhelmed and helped them immobilize their villain and destroy a few more of them on his own, the timer for the test went off indicating it was over. Since then, he's been training his quirk as much as he could.

Other than training though, he's been pacing back and forth by the mailbox, in hopes of seeing something from the U.A regarding his practical test. With each day that nothing comes, it makes him worry a little more that maybe he didn't pass the test somehow. He's sure by now that he's starting to drive his mom crazy with the amount of pacing he's been doing around the house.

As of now, he's behind his house practicing with his quirk, trying to get his mind off of the practical test. With the sun shining down and a slight breeze blowing, Naruto takes a second to relax and enjoy the weather before he starts practicing his quirk again. Activating his quirk and seeing the green outline around his body and feeling it move his hair, he uses his quirk on himself so he can float.

One of the main things he's been working on recently is stamina training. He'd use his quirk on himself and try to extend his time floating each day. When he's not doing that, he'd try to go and find something heavy and hold it up with his quirk as long as possible. While nothing he's found so far even comes close to matching the weight he felt with the zero pointer, he's still been able to find things that'd give him a little progress with his training. Hearing noise coming from his house, he deactivated his quirk and went back inside.

As he stepped inside, he heard the familiar sound of his mom humming. Stepping into their kitchen, he saw her putting away groceries. As a former pro hero herself, his mom is the one who helped with training him when he was younger and making sure he was ready for the practical and written test for U.A. His dad would help sometimes too whenever he wasn't busy with his work, but a lot of his progress can be credited to his mom taking the time to help develop his quirk.

"Hey mom, how's your day been?" Naruto asked as he got a snack and sat at the table.

"Oh it's been alright. I went to get groceries and met up with your father for lunch. How about you? Have you still been training your quirk?" She asked.

"Yeah, I've been trying to increase my stamina. I've noticed it's increased a little though." Naruto told her in a proud tone.

"Well that's good. By the way, I checked the mail and it looks like you got something from the U.A." Kushina said with a smirk, already knowing how her son is going to react.

"Really?! Finally! I've been waiting for it to come!" Naruto said ecstatically, glad that he'll finally know if he passed or not.

Grabbing the envelope they sent, his mom came over and sat in front of him. Grabbing it from her and turning it over, he opened the wax seal on the back with slightly trembling hands due to his sudden nervousness. After opening it up all of the way, he reached inside and saw there was a disc-like object in it. Confused, he grabbed it and set it on the table. After a second, the disc projected a video from in. On the projection, the one that would be telling him his results looked to be something mixed between a rat and dog.

"Hello, Naruto Namikaze." The rat-dog thing said before it continued on. "My name is Nezu, the principal of U.A. High School. On behalf of the U.A. I'd like to say congratulations. Passing both the written test and practical test with 62 villain points and 20 hero points, the most out of anyone, I'd like to welcome you to U.A. High School's hero course." The now named Nezu said as it showed a diagram of the points. "Lastly I'd like to commend you for finding out about the other portion of the practical test. Saving others is one of the main things it takes to be a hero. Because you stepped in and helped others, that's why you received hero points. Us at U.A. will be looking forward to seeing you start your path to become a hero."

As the projection ended, Naruto sat there taking in what he just heard while Kushina grabbed the paper that was also in the envelope. After a couple of seconds of processing what Nezu told him, Naruto jumped up from his seat in excitement to celebrate getting into the hero course. Too caught up in his excitement and already thinking up potential hero names for himself, he didn't hear his mom call for him until she threw something at him.

"Yeah mom?" He questioned, looking over at her.

"I was trying to tell you that this paper that came in the envelope says you'll be in Class 1-A." She said, smiling at how excited her son is.

"Oh really? That's cool I guess. I'm glad that they told me so I wouldn't be going around on the first day trying to figure out which class I'm in." He said with a small chuckle.

"I'm proud of you, Naruto. I told you that you'd get in, there was no need to worry." She started off in a teasing manner, getting Naruto to playfully roll his eyes at her. "Well anyways, I didn't get much sleep last night so I think I'm going to go take a nap." She finished off.

"Alright mom, I'll see you when you wake up." He told her, watching her leave.

As his mom left, he went back outside to practice his quirk with more determination now that he knows that he got accepted into the hero course. Thinking back to the video he saw, he remembered seeing Katsuki's name under his. 'I wonder how Katsuki feels knowing I beat him. Knowing him, he'll probably vow he'll surpass me the next time I see him.' Naruto thought amusedly before he activated his quirk to start training.

Walking down the hall to his classroom, Naruto can't help but feel excited. He was a little late leaving this morning, but hopefully it won't be a problem. Training on his own is fun and all, but he's been ready to start learning to be a hero. Now that he's here, he can finally take the first steps on that path. With an extra spring in his step, he continued walking until he finally saw a door with a sign '1-A' over it. As he got closer, he heard the familiar sound of Katsuki yelling at someone.

Laughing a little in amusement, he opened the door and went to enter. As soon as he took a couple of steps, he had to step over someone sprawled out on the floor in a yellow sleeping bag. As he stepped over him, he looked around the room at his fellow classmates and noted he was the last to arrive. Shrugging it off since their teacher hasn't arrived yet either, he found a seat and went to survey the class to see if he knew anyone. Other than Katsuki he hasn't seen anyone he recognizes, he's not sure about who's in front of Katsuki since his vision is blocked.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play around" A quiet voice called out, drawing the class' attention to the direction of the voice.

'Who said that?' Naruto asked in his head before the same voice continued.

"This is the hero course." The voice said, as the man that was on the ground stood up with his sleeping bag. "It took five minutes for before you were quiet. Our time is limited, you kids aren't very rational." The man said in the same voice, as he was unzipping his sleeping bag.

'I guess this is our teacher? I kinda feel bad for almost stepping on him before I saw him on the ground.' Naruto thought to himself.

Getting a better look at him, Naruto saw that he is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes that looked exhausted. As Naruto looked at his clothes, he saw he was wearing a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants. He also wears a utility belt and has a scarf wrapped around his neck.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you." The now named Aizawa said as he was rummaging in his sleeping bag before he pulled out a uniform. "I know it's sudden, but put this on and go out onto the field and meet me there" He finished before he left.

'Well that was sudden. I wonder what he'll have us do. Maybe combat training to see what our limits are?' Naruto wondered to himself before he went to change.

"A quirk assessment test?" A girl asked their teacher. "What about the entrance ceremony?" She finished curiously.

Glancing over at who asked the question, Naruto had to admit that the girl who asked the question is cute. She is a short girl of a slender yet curvaceous figure. She is fair-skinned with a perpetual blush on her cheeks and brown eyes. With shoulder-length hair that is the same color as her eyes, her hair is bobbed and curved inwards at the ends, two longer clumps taking the same shape on either side of her face, and short bangs that reach roughly a quarter of the way down her forehead.

"If you want to be a hero, you don't have time for those kind of events." Their teacher answered tiredly before he continued on to explain why they're outside. "You guys have been doing fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your quirk since junior high, right? The country still takes averages from the results from those tests. Naruto, you finished at the top of the practical exam. In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?" He questioned.

"68 meters." Naruto answered.

"Alright now this time do it with your quirk" Aizawa told him, as he gave him a softball.

Grabbing the ball, Naruto walked over to the spot for the softball throw. As he stepped into the white circle, Naruto activated his quirk. Using it to lift the ball out of his hand, he brought it back for a second then with the same amount of force he used when he dealt with the zero pointer, he launched the ball forward, then deactivated his quirk so it wouldn't affect the ball anymore. Watching the ball soar, he knew that they'd probably have to get a new ball for his other classmates.

"Know your maximum first. It's the most rational way to form your foundation of becoming a hero." Aizawa told the class, while showing them Naruto's score of 1600 meters.

Naruto seeing that couldn't help but feel proud of himself. Tuning out his classmates being in awe of that. He knew that it would be an improvement over when he did it quirkless, but he didn't think it'd be that big of a difference. He probably could've put more into it, but he didn't wanna tire himself out for the rest of the events. Coming out of his thoughts, he noticed their teacher in the middle of saying something.

"-ever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and their punishment will be expulsion." He said with a dark smile.

"""Huh?!""" The class yelled out, shocked at the information.

'I mean that's definitely a shock, but I'm confident in my abilities, so I know it won't be me. I can say the same about Katsuki.' Naruto thought to himself before hearing Aizawa continue.

"We're free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students. If I deem that you don't have any potential, I won't waste your time or my time, I'll just expel you." He said, before finishing with the same dark smile. "Welcome to U.A. 's hero course!"

Yeah, cutting off right there. The quirk assessment test is pretty boring to write to be honest. I'll probably just do a brief summary of the results next chapter.

Anyways I hope you liked this chapter
