As Scott goes to check on Danny who was getting wheeled off towards an ambulance Stiles and Buffy sit quietly in his jeep, with Jackson who was passed up in the backseat. Buffy twirled the ring in her hands barely able to tear her eyes from it. She just felt sick, they knew nothing about this Order or whatever but she just had a horrible feeling about this.
Stiles who was watching his best friend sighs "We'll figure it out." He promises her knowing that she was freaking out right now. Someone had literally been sent to kill her and they had no idea if there would be more of them coming, and from the way Derek had stared at that ring, it hadn't sounded good. Which meant Buffy was in a hell of a lot of danger.
As she remains quiet Stiles sighs in worry, taking a deep breath he places his hands around hers causing her to finally tear her gaze from the ring and look up at her best friend.
"We will find out what this order of terror is." He assures her offering her a small smile, he felt for her, first The Master and Peter now she had to deal with not just the Kanima and this Spike fellow but also this Order of Taraka, Buffy just never got a damn break "I'll call Giles or Deaton...preferably Giles, his accent calms me..."
At his words Buffy lets out a small giggle making Stiles smile brightly, he may suck a lot of things but cheering up Buffy Summers was probably his best talent "See you smile. Look the minute we are out of here I will annoy both the Watchers till we find out what's going on."
"You're pretty great Mischief. You know that?" Buffy says sweetly smiling brightly at him only causing Stiles to smirk lightly, he did love getting complicated, especially if it was coming from Buffy "I am pretty great aren't I?"
Buffy snorts in amusement, however, their sweet moment was quickly interrupted as Scott climbs into the backseat, being careful not to disturb the still passed out Jackson only to frown as he realizes just how small the backseat actually was.
No wonder Buffy complained about sitting back here all the time "It's tiny back here."
"Told you so." Buffy snorts before sighing, all humor and Order of Taraka stuff would have to wait, they had more pressing issues right now "Well?"
Scott merely shakes his head in disappointment "Couldn't get anything out of Danny."
"Okay." Stiles mumbles before he begins tapping the steering wheel "Can we just get the hell out of here now then. Before one of my dad's deputies sees me?"
However before they could even move to get away Stiles' eyes widen in panic as his dad's car pulls up right in front of him, of course this would happen to him, the human had the worst freaking luck of all of them.
"Oh my god!" Stiles exclaims in panic "Oh my god! Could this get any worse?" At his question, all three of them freeze as suddenly Jackson groans in his sleep making all three of them turn to face the still sleeping Kanima/Human "That was rhetorical!" Stiles yells before turning to Scott who was panicking right about now.
"Get rid of him."
At Scott's words Stiles' eyes widen "Get rid of him? We're at a crime scene and he's the Sheriff?"
With that Buffy's own eyes widen in panic, this was bad, and not just because they had a passed out Jackson in the backseat of the car "I'm still on probation. I can't be caught at other crime seen. I'm too pretty for juvie!"
"My dad likes you more than me he won't send you to juvie!" Stiles yells before sighing and throwing his arms around in frustration, suddenly he turns to the blonde giving her a pointed glare "Buffy come! You cute he won't yell if you're next to me."
Buffy groans in annoyance, why did she have to be so damn cute? Huffing she storms out of the jeep after Stiles, walking beside him while his very pissed-off-looking dad climbs out of his own car.
"If my dad kills me..." Stiles starts but the blonde cuts him off "I'll write a great eulogy...can I have the jeep?"
"Buffy." He hisses, he may love her but he had also been in a car she had driven and he would never ever do that again, he actually liked being a living human being.
"What are you two doing here?" The Sheriff demands as he walks over to the two teenagers his arms crossed clearly not happy with either of them.
"We're club people." Buffy says with a shrug "We club it up."
"Yeah." Stiles argues nodding like a damn crazy person, he so sucked at incognito "We are dancing people. So we're at a club." He continues trying not to stutter nervously over his words "We were clubbing, you know? At a club?"
The elder Stilinski frowns as he watches the blonde 5 foot 4 girl and his babbling son, the two of them were the worst liars on the planet, sighing he glances back at the club before turning back to his son "Not exactly your type of club."
Stiles' eyes widen in panic and he quickly spins through his brain trying to think of something "Uh...well, dad...there's a conversation that—"
"You're not gay." Stilinski says cutting his son off while Buffy merely nods in agreement, she had seen Stiles stare at more girls' boobs than she had seen vampires, and creepily enough she had even caught him staring at her own more than once.
Stiles merely glances in-between the girl he so hoped did not being him and his dad who he kind of needed to believe him "I could be."
"Not dressed like that." Both Stilinski and Buffy say, the blonde not being able to contain herself but of all the lies he could have told, he should have chosen one that would be the least bit believable.
As Stiles frowns glancing in confusion down at his clothes Buffy fistbumps Stilinski making the Sheriff chuckle before he turns to the blonde "You are on probation young lady. I would suggest you go wait in Stiles' car."
Buffy gulps slightly before glancing at Stiles who huffs before nodding "Thank god." She breaths before running back to the car.
As she jumps back into the jeep the blonde's eyes as she spots Jackson attempting to sit up "Scott!" Buffy exclaims before sighing and punching Jackson in the face sending him back into his unconsciousness.
"Uh, what about your house?" Stiles suggests as he drives the jeep down the highway, with Scott now in the passenger seat while Buffy was stuck in the back on knock-out Jackson duty. Which she wasn't going to lie she may be enjoying a little more than she should. However, right now their main focus was figuring out where the hell they were supposed to hide Jackson.
At Stiles' suggestion Scott and Buffy glance at each other both of them agreeing without words that that was a bad idea.
"Not with my mom there." Scotts says "We need to take him somewhere where we can hold him long enough to figure out what to do with him. Or long enough to convince him he's dangerous." Scott sighs before something occurs to him, something he knew Buffy would probably not even consider but it may be their only shot, it was the only place he knew might still be empty. Turning to face the blonde he sighs "What about your old house?" He asks making the blonde freeze "Your mom left it to you in the Will right?"
Buffy freezes at that, she had not even been to her old house since the day she moved back to Beacon Hills, yeah it may be hers, well technically her dad's till she turned 18 but she still had the keys "I um...Scott...I..." As she begins stuttering Stiles glances back at her through the rearview mirror, he had been the one still watering the plants at that house so he knew what was freaking her out. It was the fact that the old Summers house still had a bunch of her mom's stuff everywhere, it's the whole reason she hadn't been able to go there.
"I still say we kill him." Stiles says drawing the attention off Buffy who sighs running a hand through her hair.
Scott turns to Stiles in disbelief "We're not killing him."
"God!"
Buffy sighs as she sits in the backseat of the car, as much as did not want to go to her old house...it was their best option, she knew Stiles well enough to know he would suggest something that would get him in a lot of trouble to protect her but there was no way she was going to let him steal a police van "Head to my old house. We'll need chains. A lot of them."
At her words Scott nods while Stiles finally tears his gaze off the road and glances back at her, Scott had no idea just how much of Buffy's mom's stuff was actually there but he did, the place still smelt like Joyce "Are you sure?"
"Not even a little."
Buffy inhales tightly as she stands outside her old house, she hadn't been here in years, one: because it was in the middle of the freaking woods and two because...of well the obvious. Pulling her key out of her back pocket the blonde gulps as she moves her shaky hand towards the door.
"You sure about this. We can still steal the van?" Stiles suggests as he walks up behind her while Scott carries Jackson out of the jeep, a bag of chains thrown over his shoulder.
"No." Buffy whispers before finally placing the key in the door, she sighs before turning the lock and pushing open the door.
The second the door opens Scott moves inside heading to the basement while Buffy stands there motionless at the doorstep unable to move inside.
"Hey." Stiles whispers drawing the blonde's attention "You got this." He promises before reaching down entangling his fingers with hers.
Buffy squeezes his hand tightly trying not to hurt him as she does, holding onto him she takes a deep breath before allowing Stiles to lead her inside the house she had grown up in. While most of it was dusty and still in boxes Buffy knew her mom had been staying here on and off every time she was dealing with new art dealings. And the place still smelled like her perfume.
Inhaling the perfume Buffy lets out a small gasp as tears fill her eyes, she hadn't smelled her mother's perfume since the accident and it felt like she was here with her.
"Hey, hey." Stiles whispers spotting Buffy's face, he knew this feeling, he had dealt with this when he had found a box of his mother's old stuff a few years ago, wrapping his arms around her he allows her to rest her head on his chest as tears spill down her face.
She had been so strong since the accident hadn't cried or fallen apart but being surrounded by her mother's things, in the place where she grew up...it was killing her.
"McCall!"
Stiles and Scott who were in Buffy's old living room both continued pacing back and forth in a panic as they try to think of a plan, they had maybe a couple of hours till they had to be at school, wince at the sound of Jackson screaming from the basement now finally awake "I'm gonna kill you!"
Stiles groans, this was very bad, how did they keep getting sucked into these horrible situations? "What now?"
"I don't know." Scott admits as he continues pacing, it wasn't like he had ever been in a situation like this before, glancing around the room he had spent a lot of his childhood he frowns as he spots the third member of their three musketeers missing "Where's Buffy?"
"Upstairs, her old room. She needed to get away from all the boxes" Stiles tells him before sighing, Buffy had barely been able to breathe the minute they had stepped inside of this house, it was cruel of them to do this to her, she had grown up here, all of her mom's stuff had been shipped here, it was like throwing all the grief Buffy had been burying right in her face.
Sighing Scott glances up the stairs in worry before peaking down at his watch, they didn't have long before sunrise and then they would be expected at School, at least one of them had to be there, otherwise if all three of them were missing Snyder would be on a damn mission.
"Go." Stiles says suddenly, when Scott frowns the human sighs "Jackson's locked up. I'll be fine. I know this house like the back of my hand...and you're failing four classes. Go home get ready. I'll call you if anything happens."
Buffy sighs as she locks the front door after having to sneak into Jackson's house to get him some clothes, leaning against the locked door she just couldn't believe that this was her life right now, they had literally kidnapped someone and were holding them in a freaking basement.
Their lives had become the worst horror movie ever.
Pushing herself away from the door the blonde heads into the living room only to snort at the sight of Stiles' head hanging off the edge of her old couch, drool dribbling down his face.
Walking over to him she smirks down at his snoring face "Wake up Stiles!" She screams in his face making Stiles scream and throws himself off the couch landing on the floor, as he lands on the white carpet Buffy chuckles "Ah, I feel better about being in this house now." She laughs before jumping onto the couch and tossing him the bag of Jackson's crap.
Stiles glares at the blonde in annoyance before sighing as he spots her glancing around at the walls where there were still a few photos up, the one that caught his eye though was of her him and Scott back when they were like 5. Buffy was hitting Scott with a newspaper while Stiles laughed cheering at the fight.
Glancing back at the blonde he jumps back onto the couch watching her closely for a long moment "You okay?"
"Yeah." She whispers shaking her head as she forces herself away from the photos before offering her best friend a weak smile, she didn't want to admit it but being here it felt like a lump of coal had been dumped on her chest "I just...ugh...this place gives me the wigs. Plus this whole Order thing..."
Stiles sighs as he watches her before he groans, why did he have to be such a great friend? "Why don't you go to school? Look I'll call Deaton and Giles and find out what I can."
"Stiles-"
Sighing Stiles places a hand on her knee and turns to face the clearly worried blonde "Go. You're already behind. Jackson's locked up, I'll be fine."
