When they discovered Jacob's body, daisy petals had flown into his long dark hair that he refused to what everyone else had done in his pack, he down right refused to cut his hair that he had been adamantly growing out since he was twelve years old. He couldn't bear to simply cut it despite the pack conformity that followed the transition. He loved his long hair, it was his pride and joy.
That didnt change the fact that he now laid with his back against a dewy tree. Or that he was all alone, a lone wolf always dies; but then again so do pack wolves.
Jacobs eyes? They were empty as they stared in front of him not seeing anything, glass orbs that used to be so full of life. How long he sat there for was unknown, though the daisies in his hair had yet to wilt so it couldn't have been too long. He looked peacefu, the tension from his shoulders seemed to have disappeared but it was finally at his death that he could release that anger he held so close to his heart.
It was days after the wedding, some decorations were still hanging and the plethora of flowers that Alice had place around the vicinity of the Cullen house still left a floral scent that seem to cling to the air. Bella and Edward had left for Esme Isles happier then they had ever been which in turn left someone else to find his body. Jacob was the furthest thing fron Isabella's mind, and though she was a tad dissapointed when he didnt show up to the wedding she was still so exuberant.
It was Rosalie, she didn't realize it was him at first. She didn't seem to recognize the lifeless body that was so still, so quiet. It was different then Jacob's usually tightly wound physique. The female vampire had been on a hunting trip, a small snack to lay off the edge of her hunger before she helped Alice clean up. When she smelled his rotting yet surprisingly floral scent she stopped and turned. The woods were not as magical as they were a few days ago but something still made her feel like she didn't belong in here. Here in a place that made human children want to laugh and play, a place that breathed of new beginnings and happy endings, a place were magic became reality.
In many ways it did.
His body had been still growing not yet the size of a mature shifter, he would gotten bigger and stronger only to be stopped by dainty white flower petals. Tiny but lethal, though the petals were merely a side effect, what really killed him was the root system that functured his lungs. It was the interconnected system that seem to tighten and squeeze in till oxygen could no longer reach the brain. He died in pain, for he suffocated. He suffocated on Dainty white flower petals that Isabella had oh, so loved.
Jacobs face, which was usually covered in a grin, was stained in blood. His body sagged into the earth, his limbs held weight and his fingers were covered in dirt stains, a final sign of a soul that had moved on.
Though Rosalie was the one who found him it was the wolves who took him back to their land, thanking the blond vampire through thick tears as they tried to talk through the lumps in their throats; they had come to find him and find him they did. They found him too late.
The breeze shifted slowly, almost magically bringing up dried leaves from the ground as they floated along the wind blocking the wolves from the view of there dead friend. A final gift from sympathetic fairies. But even then the magical creatures couldnt put off death fir long. The forest was a vast land of trees and just before them Jacob sat the only human to be found.
That's when the howls began, long throatful howls that turned into sobs as they shifted into their human form collapsing next to where he laid. Wolves of every color and gender hugged onto him. He was so beautiful and yet so very dead. They tugged at him and hit him, yelling for Jacob to wake up, to walk, to fight back like a man. They threatened his pride, his ego, they would threaten everything if it only made him wake up.
He.
Would.
Not.
Wake.
Up.
Rosalie watched as the shifter broke down in front of her, she blinked back tears as shouts and howls mixed with each other until it became indistinguishable.
Sorrow is what Quil felt seep into his bones as he picked up his brethren, for a second he stumbled with Jacobs weight, something he never expected to bear. Something the young wolf never expected to carry back home. But then he stood strong, ignoring his thoughts that threatened to tear him down. Quils throat was tight his field of vision was blurry.
He took a step and then another following Sam as he led the pack to La Push.
Sobbing teens and broken wolves trudged through Forks woods with depression in the air clinging to their very souls. Something so different from the pure joy that the wedding held for the towns people. For the wolves the wedding felt like just another failure, and now Jacob was dead on top of that.
At the edge of the woods stood two lone Vampire sisters who couldn't help but hear the distraught howls.
They listened and for a small second they wanted to join them. To scream about the pain that wolves so clearly felt to shout to the sky about how unfair it was. They wanted to howl to the unknown god who gave them disease, who gave them pain, who gave them suffering.
But they were busy.
Busy with the fact that they had found their mate. It should have been joyous occasion in which they could finally get their happy ever she slipped from ther hands before they could even think of touching her. They should have met her eyes when Edward interdouces them instead they were too busy looking at Edward.
They didn't find out till Bella had looked back at the crowd, a moments hesitation before stepping into the black car that would whisk her away to her honeymoon, a honeymoon that would be shared with Edward.
Her muddy brown eyes met Kate's and Tanyas golden ones.
That was it for them, their world had been completed only to be ripped away, in seconds they were completely and utterly destroyed. Irina's missing presence suddenly made so much sense to them as petals seemed to fill their lungs like empty mason Jars.
For once Katrina didn't make a joke, she just stared out into the wood: her eyes empty, her ears filled with howls. Tanya swallowed as venom tears left poisonous tracks down her face as she closed her eyes going over every blemish that resided on Isabella's face.
The howls.
The pain.
The loss.
All of this in life's cruel game.
Jacobs Blacks funeral happened while Bella was still on her honeymoon she had been happier then she had ever been.
No one let her know, nobody told her, that her best friend now laid 6 feet under the ground buried in daisy petals that erupted from his chest. Or that he laid in a coffin made of their favorite oak tree.
The same one whose branches that used to support their little bodies as they reached for the sky on hot summer months.
The same tree that stood in for absent parents, the tree that hugged them when invisible tears ran down their faces. When they taught themselves how to not feel and there only friend was that tree and each other.
No one told Isabella that her best friend and the one thing that they shared had all disappeared in a couple days she had left. In a place that she was happier then she had ever been.
The pack was distraught, Charlie cried tears behind lock doors because the boy he considered his son dies before him, and Billy Black had turned into a unrespondent Zombie.
That is when the Vampires decided to do without the treaty. When they realized that the humans and shifter alike were breaking down they couldn't simply just not do anything. The Cullens did not cross the treaty line for they were hesitant to break something so fragile. The Denali sisters on the other hand decided that a meaningless piece of paper did nothing but divide them, the wolves could barely walk on their own too sickened by their own grief to function.
When they crossed the line no one rejected them.
The wolves watched through their bloodshot eyes as the people they hated so much picked them up one by one they carried them to the bon-fire that Jacob oh so loved. It's fire was blue and green from the driftwood they found lying about. The same colors that used to amaze Jacob as a child. He used to stare in wonder until the flames died out.
His flame had died out.
Tanya and Katrina carried Seth and Leah who clutched to them, their tears soaking through the vampire's shirts as they gripped them with inhuman strength. The Vampires response was to hold them tighter to clutch them harder. Offering the only comfort they knew how. They crushed them back with their strength trying to be something tangible to tell them they knew it wasn't okay and they had indeed been wronged.
"Someone needs to call Isabella" Leah whispered as she sat down in the slightly damp sand. Her fingers trembled as she pulled her phone out, it almost fell out of her grip. Her jean shorts filled with holes and now sand didn't bother her.
The ocean raged and screamed as if it too was grieving the dead wolf. The sky was a cloudy grey that seemed to match everyone's mood. It was sour, it was cold, and despite the noise the silence was deafening, the ringing in their ears seemed to drown everything else out.
"Do you have her number?" Tanya asked the she-wolf before turning to cough. She caught a stray petal before anyone could notice and the dainty white flower that looked so out of place in this somber moment. Thus it began; the disease that killed Jacob would now affect Tanya and Katrina in a never ending loop because unlike him they could not die. They could only suffer.
"Here use my phone" Leah voice cracked as she opened her screen only to see Jacob smiling back at her, Seth was thrown over his shoulder. They looked so happy and they were so frozen in time knowing nothing of what was going to happen. This picture was taken before Bella had moved back to forks. They were young and happy, finding family in their friends.
The she-wolf closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before quickly clicking her contacts and clicking the one labeled "Human Blood Bag".
Tanya raised her eyebrow but Leah was already curling into herself. The pain was seeping off of her. Tanya could smell the sorrow, the guilt, but most of all the suppressed anger.
'Now not the time' Tanya thought to herself but as she clicked the call button on android ringing filled the air. The loud and silent air.
Curious wolves sluggishly turned their heads in the vampires direction which Tanya rewarded them with a sad smile, the beauty of sad smiles was the soft yet suppressing feeling it delivers. A hopeless feeling that made the wolves wince. With that smile the wolves immediately knew who she was calling.
Then the phone clicked, a soft giggling voice answered in a breathless tone. She sounded so happy so joyous and now Tanya would be the one who had to break it. Why did she have to break it to this human who suddenly had all her dreams come true, and in turn made of of Tanyas dreams come true.
"Hello?"
Tanyas voice caught in her throat and she couldn't stop the petals that escaped her mouth.
She shook her head avoiding eye contact with the wolves and if her heart still beat it would be pounding from pure happiness from hearing Isabella's voice.
Eye contact got her in this predicament anyways, if only she never met Isabella's eyes then she wouldn't be feeling like she was suffocating.
"Hello Isabella, my name Tanya Denali, we met at the wedding. I am currently borrowing 's phone at the moment." Tanya breathed her voice shaky those who were inhuman but to Isabella it sounded confident and absolute.
There was a pause and Isabella sighed.
"Hi Tanya, Is there something I can help you with?"
Tanya sensed a slight tone of jealousy in her voice that made her wait a few seconds before Leah nudged her leg. The vampire looked down and the wolf gave her a nod to continue.
"Theres...There's been a death Isabella" Who was Tanya to deliver this news? she had no right. She did not know Jacob and she scarcely knew anything about Isabella. She should be hearing this from a person who was close to them. But all of them were indisposed.
The steady grip of a wolf's hand on her shoulder made her take another breath. She looked back to see it was Leah who held her shoulder. The wolves were now standing ready for the backlash that Isabella was bound to have.
"Charlie?" Bella whispered almost panicky.
"No! No, Not your father." Tanya quickly corrected her, the vampire's eyes widened in shock.
"Who Tanya." Bella softly commanded, something she hadn't done since she had come to forks. She never commanded anybody of anything. But Tanya didn't know that as she tensed up.
"Jacob Black." Tanya whispered another cough made her close her eyes in pain. Petals now layed idly on her shoes, it looked like an array of splatter paint marks.
The vampire could swear she could hear loud thumping heart beats and intakes of breaths as the phone clattered on Bella's end, the shakiness, the hyperventilation.
Then the phone was picked up.
"We will be back soon" Edwards' calm voice filled her ear and it took everything in Tanyas being to not crush the wolf's phone in her hand.
"Take care of her." But the phone had already clicked off when she said those words but she said them anyway. Slowly she brought the phone from her ear softly handing them back to Leah who pulled the vampire down to the grown rubbing her back.
Tanya caught her sister's eye from across the fire and the pain that was held there was indescribable. The fact that Kate was just sitting there looking helpless told of her pain.
They didn't question where Irina was, knowing their sister she would be home breaking down in their room. She dealt with her pain with familiarity, she surrounded herself with comfort items. It was simply her way.
Right now they were on wolf territory and for once the smell didn't seem so bad. Not in comparison to the raw sorrow that hung in the air. The wolves scents
Nobody talked, nobody said a word, for the wind and the ocean howled their anger. The clouds told of their depression and slight drizzle from the rain suddenly told them it was okay...it was okay to cry; and so they did.
The beginnings of tears ran trails down their faces. It made wolves eyes puff up and the venom tears from the vampires had them hissing in pain as the tears met their lips.
They cried until the sun set.
They laid in the damp sand until the sun rose and with it they did too.
They walked home Vampires, humans, and shifters alike... walked home.
The vampires, the cold ones, whatever they were called walked back to the Cullens house. Rosalie clutched her husband's arm as she watched the Denali sister walk off the driveway. She was suddenly reminded that death was an untamable force that could take anyone at any time, but she already knew this. Emmett gripped onto his wife tighter, his eyes watery but tears never fell. He was raised in a way where showing his emotions was a taboo. Something that was not fit for a man like himself.
Alice looked away guilty as the sister stared at her in fury. Alice had known this would happen. SHe knew that hearts would break and that people would die. She was at fault, but at the same time who could blame her for picking a future that benefited her the most.
When the pixie vampire opened her mouth to speak she was cut off by the vampire who usually rivaled Emmetts childish behavior.
"We don't care to hear your excuse Alice. What's done is done" She coughed shoving the floating petals into her pocket so they wouldn't litter the ground. Kate was awkward like that she too was taught that emotions were weak, that they were not needed for a warrior. She was better than that and yet here she was, coughing up Isabella's favorite flowers.
Suddenly the house felt too big, too perfect for the rage they felt. They stayed in the driveway making their feet dig into the gravel as the gravity of the situation sunk into their bones.
"He was a child." Esme breathed and her hands collapsed together in an attempt to stop them from shaking.
"Barely of age." Rosalie whispered to the wind as her mind brought images of his dead body. His beautiful hair. His empty face.
"And she will not recover from this." Alice said just as softly before turning around so that she was facing the driveway. The others followed her actions. All of them sitting quietly waiting.
No one questioned who she was talking about.
It was clear whom she was talking about.
There was no way in this life or the next that Isabella would ever forgive herself for missing her best friend's funeral or let herself heal for being the cause of his death. She would blame herself for eternity if that meant he could come back. Perhaps he would come back in another form but he wouldn't be the same
Did she know? Know that she was the cause of his death? She had to know, not even a vampire could hide flower petals for long.
"Does she know she was the cause?" Katrina asked the silent vampires who were all stuck in their own thoughts. Her eyes were glazed over as she stared at the gravel.
"She doesn't, the wol- Jacob. Jacob ran to Canada when he first saw the symptoms." Rosalie sighed, twisting her curls.
"Do we tell her?" Esme asked as she picked up a stray rock and looked at it with a distracted interest.
"Yes." Tanya and Katrina said at the same time.
"She will find out either way." Alice said.
"Lying isn't the way." Kate agreed even though she hated the pixie with all her heart.
"It never is." Tanya sighed, crushing a rock in her palms.
It wasn't long before they smelled burning rubber and the squeaking of wheels. How they managed to get here so quickly was beyond the Cullen's and the Denalis paygrade. But they had to be sitting there just waiting for at least a day not that they noticed.
The car slid into the driveway with little to no grace whatsoever. The Denali sister worried for half a second about Isabella's safety, but it was quickly subdued as Bella jumped out of the car in a panic. Only to stop as she saw all the vampires sitting like children on the gravel pavement.
"I missed the funeral." She said to herself in disbelief, her face fell and all the rushed feelings disappeared.
Tanya was the first to react, catching the human before she fell to her knees on the gravel that would for sure cut her knees. The human clutched the vampire she barely knew she sobbed. Katrina rose next shooting Edward a look as he stood there in shock.
They stayed like that for a while. Kate rubbed comforting circles on the back of the distraught human. It was when he calmed that she asked the question.
"How did he die?"
The silence was deafening as the Cullen's exchanged glances.
The Denali sisters scoffed at them. Was it normal to be so uneasy about keeping secrets in their family? Was this normal? For if it was, it wasn't normal. They wouldn't stand for it.
"It's complicated and involves a bit of background information." Kate sighed as she squeezed Isabella's shoulder.
"I have all the time in the world," Bella said impatiently.
The vampires got comfortable.
"A long time ago in early Japan there was a god who hated the beauty of a lossed love" Kate whispered.
"The god had no gender but its number one job was to feel the pain of humans, it got tired of feeling miserable all of the time"
"So they gave humanity a disease that made their feelings become tangible."
"The Japanese called it Hanahaki Disease.
Hana, meaning flower and Haku, meaning throw up.
They threw up the flowers that their lover favored. It would start out as petals, for humans they were covered in blood and for vampires they were as dry as could be. But that was only stage one, stage two is when the pain would intensify."
Tanya cut in as she saw Kate hold in a cough, Edward grabbed Isabella's hand in comfort.
"The second stage no longer played with petals instead they would cough, throw up and gag whole flowers and buds of flowers. They would suffer for a little longer as the roots grew and grew, puncturing their lungs and filling their esophagus in a mighty fell swoop. The god disappeared after the first case. They were shipped back into the oblivion of space, punished for not doing their job properly. But the disease continues to spread."
Kate cleared her throat, "Bella... Jacob Black was simply another victim of forgotten gods' failure. He died from an unrequited love."
A hateful god is what the Japanese thought was the problem but in Tanyas opinion perhaps it wasn't a forgotten god's fault, it was the body's way of dealing with indescribable pain, because everyone knows that both the mind and body are connected. They acted together.
Bella trembled as realization crossed her face. She clutched her ears and her heart started its long loud march.
"He died because of me." Bella said in awe. "I'm a murderess"
"Welcome to the club: Rosalie said too low for the human to hear. She gave her a sympathetic smile.
"Not helping" Esme growled at her before turning back to Bella and comforting her.
"You are not a murder Bella" She tried to reason with the small girl.
"She isn't a murder but she is the cause." Tanya said blandly, stepping away from the human as Bella reached for Edward.
"He didn't suffer long Isabella," Katrina tried to reason. "It's rare for anyone to survive past three months but there are some cases that last to 18 months and considering he is a shifter-"
"You're saying too much Katrina"
Irina made her presence known as she appeared at the edge of the forest.
It was too much pain to be gone for too long. She should have never left in the first place. It only made the flowers worse. So here Irina was, in front of the girl who hurt her the worst. But more importantly to keep her sisters in place. She had her alone time, wallowing in pity in the room that the Denali sisters shared. She was done feeling sorry for herself, besides she did love a little bit of pain.
Bella smiled at the vampire remembering the magic trick she performed only to stop, forming a shocked expression as more daisies left Irina's mouth and the vampire couldn't care less about them. She wasn't her sister, she could care less if the flowers littered the ground.
"Worry not silly human I wont die from this" Irina cast Isabella a look as the human face turned green.
"Oh god I think I'm going to throw up" Bella murmured, bending over her ragged breathing filled the vampire's ears.
"Oh! Billy!" Isabella cried her head shooting up only to meet Irina's lifted eyebrow. She looked down once again in embarrassment.
"I can't process this information," Bella mumbled.
"Of course you can't darling you're only hum-"
"Don't treat her like a child Edward, she isn't one" Tanya growled at the pretty boy.
Perhaps it wasn't a great idea to start an argument right now because tensions were high. Isabella was breaking down. Also all three Denali sisters were holding back coughs which were more painful than can be described.
If they were human their faces would be red and they would be breathless but instead they stood aloof acting as if they could care less that their mate was clinging to Edward like her life depended on it.
It hurt not to be wanted.
Right?
Right.
No it felt like being smothered in lava or laundry clips keeping their eyelids open to watch their lives end or to just begin.
"Right, I apologize." Edward turned somber.
"It's fine." Isabella deliberated for a moment absorbing the worried looks in their faces "Can you take me to the Oak tree?" She turned to Edward, her face brightened for half a second.
He looked as if he was about to agree with her when Kate jumped in.
"They used it for his casket" She refused to lie to her mate and easing her into this wasn't going to make this may be less difficult. The Denali sisters were different from the Cullens; they didn't dance away from their pain; they accepted it and dealt with it the best way they knew how.
Bella stopped talking after that.
They eventually brought an emotionally distanced Bella to the border. No wolves were there to patrol it. They didn't even move when they smelled them walking across the border to the graveyard.
Isabella had expected it to be dim and gloomy but despite all of the bodies that laid there, dead and unmoving, forever, it breathed life. Flowers bloomed, the grass was healthy and the sun peaked from the clouds illuminating it perfectly. So much life in where so much death resides.
"Did you know he believed in reincarnation?" A voice came from behind them, a deep raspy voice.
It was Billy Black with Jacob's favorite flowers in his hands, deep yellow marigolds. His emotions weren't there. His face was empty, a living dead.
"I did not" Bella whispered and suddenly it was just Bella and Billy. The vampires disappeared in the wind or perhaps they were never there at all.
"Then it's true you never did love him." Billy sighed.
"Not the way he wanted me too." Bella whispered as she spotted the freshly turned dirt a couple of feet in front of her.
"There's no helping it then." Billy sighed. He laid the flowers on his grave. "Perhaps in the next life he will have a better life."
"Perhaps not a better life, because he had a good one. Perhaps better luck" Bella said quietly.
"Here is to hoping he will have better luck" Billy bowed his head to his dead son, Bella did the same.
"To better luck." Bella said.
She didn't leave that grave site for weeks.
Jacob and Bella hadn't talked for a long time before she was married. He ran in hopes she wouldn't see him in pain, and she was oblivious to it all. It was her worst regret not fighting harder for him to stay.
But time moves on. People move on.
So Bella moved on. She walked right back into Edwards arms and he welcomed her back warmly.
"The sisters greeted her politely and she couldn't help but smile at them, something compelled her to do so. But she still felt a hole inside of her and nobody would ever fill it. This isn't a fairy tale.
Get it out of your head right now, this will not end happily.
People don't just suddenly become better. The process of becoming better takes pain, and sorrow.
The facade that Isabella is playing is making it worse. A simple goodbye won't make the grief go away, and grief just doesn't go away.
It stays forever and perhaps one day it becomes so familiar you forget what it is. Guilt doesn't go away and for Bella that would always be locked in her mind.
Guilt is a sensitizer. Much like bee stings, the more times you get stung by a bee the less you feel it. The more time you get used to it you no longer feel it when it stings you. Then one day they sting you one last time and the venom becomes too strong and you die from a single bee sting.
A needle on a camel's back.
That's all that Bella had that was truly hers.
Her mind was her own and inside it she kept prisons full of her regrets, her guilt, her grief.
It didn't go unnoticed to her when the Denali sister opted to stay in the Cullens guest house. Or whenever they tried to cough, the flower petals would sometimes escape. But she was too locked up in her own grief to put two and two together. Grief does that.
Whomever said that love conquers all? They lied.
It's grief that chews the inside of innocent minds. It is death that brings people together.
"Bella" Tanya waved her hand in front of the human trying to bring her out of the day dream she was in.
"Tanya" Bella snapped out her day dream with a bit of frustration.
"Bella" Tanya sighed, handing her a glass of water. The human was dehydrated and malnourished and she was doing it to herself.
"Tanya" Bella pushed the glass away. How could she take care of herself when she was the cause of so much anguish?
"Are you trying to kill youself?" Kate asked as she sat on the kitchen counter a few feet away from where both Tanya and Bella sat.
Bella didn't comment, she looked away to the immaculately clean counter.
"You do realize that you are living in a house full of vampire who simply will not allow you to kill yourself." Irina walked in gracefully and pushed the water back in front of Bella.
"I'm not thirsty" Bella growled, her head pounded when all three of them pestered her like this.
"I'm not in the mood to deal with what you want-your body to be." Irina scoffed, slamming the water down.
"You. Are. Dehydrated Isabella Swa-Cullen, Cullen." Irina winced at the last name but kept at it. Baring her teeth at the human.
"You are so fucking pushy Irina, I said that I am not thirsty." Bella slammed her hands down onto the table. She met Irina's stare but didn't back down.
"Don't lie to me and I won't be so pushy." Irina growled.
"Just drink the water Bells" Kate sighed
"Please?" Tanya added.
Bella ended up drinking the water much to her dismay.
"Why are you guys even still here?" She looked around only to realize that none of the Cullens were here.
"What can we say we've become attached to you" Kate laughed shooting the human some finger gun action.
Bella huffed, she wished that Edward was here instead of hunting with his family.
"Now should we argue about food consumption?"Irina grinned as she held up a loaf of bread.
"No just feed me you pushy vampire" Bella growled but secretly she was amused
The vampires froze, all of them stopped breathing as coughs rose in their throats. They hid it the best they could, trying to make it not look as painful as possible.
"Does it hurt?" Bella asked
"In comparison to the root of the problem.. No. It doesn't compare." Irina whispered
"Right" Bella hung her head, she assumed they were in deep pain when they coughed. Of course they weren't.
"You guys do know that I won't love you back, right?"
"We do." They nodded as they moved around the kitchen preparing Isabella's lunch.
"Then why stick around?"
They paused.
"You know that Jacob is never coming back right?" Irina said softly
Bella winced "Yes".
"Then why do you still mourn him?"
"Touche" Bella laughed a sad laugh.
"Don't ask simple questions Isabella, we'll only over complicate them."
She shook her head in amusement.
"Speaking of questionssss, How was Edward at sex?" Kate smirked as she moved onto Isabella's lap raising her eyebrows at her.
"KATRINA!" Her sisters slapped her on the head
"What! You said he was a virgin I was simply wondering if-"
"Oh god shut up, shut up!" Bella threw her hands over her ears.
"What!" Katrina looked actually shocked, she truly didn;t understand why everyone was screaming at her.
"It was Amazing" Bella blushed.
The vampires turned to her in slow motion. Their facial expressions ranged from amused to almost laughing.
"Stop it! Katrina if you laugh I will refuse to eat that sandwich."
They turned around quickly hiding there suppressed giggles
Bella shoved the sandwich in her mouth and ate angrily even as her face blushed red, the red didn't stop there it seemed to spread onto her whole body.
For a second they were happy and content in each others presence, for a moment everything was perfect.
Then it wasn't.
"BELLA" Alice launched herself through the house's open window.
"She is eating Alice if she chokes I will decapitate you" Irina growled at the pixie who looked away guilt poured off of her.
"Right, sorry." Alice fiddled with her thumbs as she waited.
"Bella love?" Edward called as he entered the house more casually then his sister but still eager.
"Edward Cullen I really don't care for you but if you interrupt Bella while she is eating I will circumcise you" Kate gave the male vampire a sweet smile. He raised his hand up and slowly went to sit on the couch.
"Like I said, pushy vampires" Bella murmured.
"Speak up Isabella it's unbecoming to mumbled" Tanya laughed
"ItS uNbEcOmInG To MuMbLe" Bella murmured right back.
"You are absolutely insufferable." Tanya put her head in her hands.
"Thanks!" Bella jumped up and walked over to Edward who pulled her into his lap.
The motion had the sisters gagging. They hadn't gagged before, not on the petals, something was different.
They stumbled out of the house fear in their eyes as they spat out a whole flower.
It was only going to get worse from here.
The daisies were in pristine condition and they glowed in the mid afternoon sun. Soon they wouldn't be able to talk. Soon it would become unbearable to be anywhere near or away from Isabella. They would feel like they were on fire but they would never die.
"Fuck." Kate whispered as she dropped the flower.
Fuck was the right word, but it seemed to simple to be conveyed the fact that they were royalty fucked.
They simply just wanted to be there for Isabella, they didn't want to feel pain every time she went to him.
"Are you guys alright?" Alice peeped her head out. She reminded them of a bundle of nerves.
"Yup, we're just dying slowly," Kate laughed.
"Ah, I see."
The sisters could guess why Alice was so bundled up with nerves. The little pixie saw the future, she saw what could happen, the good and bad and every little thing that she did could affect the future in some way. She would know if she messed up. She would know if she had made the future turn bad because she quite literally saw it unfold in front of her.
All gifts like Alice's were a curse, to be in charge of something so flimsy and try to tame it was an impossible task that almost made the Denali sisters pity the pixie. But they didn't because Alice knew what she was doing when she allowed Bella and Edward to get married.
They looked away to her and into the forest that had glowed on the wedding night. Of course the glowing was from the fairies but to make the whole forest glow was a great price to their magic. Which led to the dullness that the forest looked like now. Muddy, Brown, and wholly unappealing. Alaska was better than this. They missed the snowy grounds that they could hide in. They missed the trees that used to freeze to the point where they would break.
They missed home. Except now Isabella was home, but Bella was pain. To see her dying on the inside, and for them to be quite literally dying all over again.
How could they ever pick between this pain? Because even though they were in pain it was addicting. It felt so right, yet so wrong. But perhaps it would get better. In a world that was full of pain was it even plausible for it to get better? The sisters didn't think so, but hoping was everything.
It had to get better.
A/N:HI YOU CAN THANK SAIYON FOR THE UPDATE. ALSO THE LONG HAIR JACOB IS FOR DONUT. I really struggled with this chapter and truthfully But fuck it I'M TIRED. AND I WANT MY PRIZE. I KNOW HALF OF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT BUT THAT'S OKAY. I'M OKAY. ARE YOU GUYS CRYING? I'M CRYING. FUCK WHY DID I KILL JACOB. I hope you guys enjoyed the new additions to what I added. This took a lot longer than I had expected too and I apologize for that. The Japanese God isn't historically accurate. I made it up FYI.
Anyways, forever yours,
