Space

July 2, 20:00:23 EDT

You ever wake up from a nap so good your body just feels numb. That type of slightly painful numbness that just makes you wanna go back to bed. That's the feeling our young protagonist was feeling now.

A slight groan was heard from a young man. He glanced out the window, seeing stars zoom by. Looking away he attempted to get comfortable again and go back to bed. Snapping up he pressed his face against the window. Seeing the same stars zooming by.

"What the hell."

Looking around the now identified 'spaceship', if it could be called that. It was small, he could barely sit up. There was one large window directly in front of him. The interior was padded in an ugly bright orange. There were simple armrests on either side of him, and a small control panel right under the window. The letters were large and bulky, bright green.

For the most part he could understand everything. He had no idea how he could read any of this. It was definitely the first time seeing this alien language. Reaching out to the control panel he stopped and stared at his hand.

An olive skin tone, large muscular hand, like his arms that were surrounded in a skin tight dark blue outfit. Returning his focus back to the control panel he quickly pushed some buttons. The window quickly tinted, everything outside vanishing from his sight as a dull light turned on. Dimly illuminating the inside. Turning the window into a makeshift mirror.

'I look younger. Definitely wasn't built like this though. Took me years after high school to get into fitness.' the young man thought to himself as he checked himself out in the mirror.

He looked around 16 or 17, around six foot. Toned with muscle, unnaturally clear skin, short wild black hair. The only big difference he could find were the bright red eyes that stared back at him and his long canines.

"What the hell!" He yelled to himself, seeing a tail swinging behind him. "There's no way." He said leaning in closer to the mirror. "Imma fucking Saiyan." Letting out a low empty chuckle. "I've fucking lost it."

Leaning back in his seat he runs hands across his face and into his hair. He placed his hand over his face, leaning into them. His brow scrunched up as he tried to remember what happened, but it was all a blur. Like watching a movie you've seen a hundred times on fast forward. Only being able to catch bits and pieces. Knowing exactly what was going on, but never being able to actually see it.

Taking a deep breath to calm the starting headache, he opened his eyes again. Opening his hand in front of him he focused on the power he could feel running through his veins. Concentrating on that power a small dense ball of dark red Ki formed in his hand.

"It's real." He spoke with childlike wonder.

Gripping his and into a fist, feeling the Ki absorb back into his body. He took a deep breath and concentrated. Tapping a couple of buttons a screen appeared on the tinted window. It was a recording. It showed a battle between an army of Sayains. Dozens dying left and right., the very planet around them crumbling apart.

The video cut to an older looking man. This man was a giant even through the video he could tell the man was around seven foot, a mountain of muscle. He had a full beard and short dark brown hair. His battered Saiyan armor was covered in a lab coat.

"Hello young one." The older man spoke in an alien language, a sad smile on his face.

'Did the Saiyans speak another language?'

"If you are watching this, then Sadala has fallen." The screen shook as battle cries were heard in the distance. The old man let out a tired sigh.

"Our people…" He let out a small chuckle, devoid of emotion. "They do love a good fight. We couldn't choose a king to follow and it led to where we are now." He motioned to the rundown lab around him.

"I created you knowing this would inevitably happen. You were born with the best of both factions. Brains and brawns." He gave a fond smile. "You, my son, are the last hope of the Saiyan race. Go out and recreate our once great kingdom. Like a Saiyan itself our genes will take over and dominate any species. Meaning if two half Sayains were to mate they would birth a full Saiyan. We were not meant to bend to anyone." He gave a proud smile.

"Obviously you can't just go around sleeping with women to rebuild our species. No matter how fun the task sounds." He let out a loud chuckle. "I have also downloaded the DNA of thousands of Saiyans into your Attack Ball. When you find the right planet, you can start to rebuild our once great race."

"It won't be over night, but you can achieve what we failed to do. The Attack Ball you are inside of has all the knowledge and history of the Saiyan race. Protect it, and use it to become the first King of the Saiyans." He gave another sad smile reaching out to the camera, and the young man found himself unconsciously doing the same.

"Do great things my little warrior." The sound of battle was growing louder and louder in the background. The man looked behind him with an angered face, he shrugged off his lab coat. Showing a black and red suit of Saiyan armor. The warrior/scientist muscles looked as if they could tear through the very armor that held them.

He looked back at the camera, the internal struggle was clear on his face. He was deciding if he should say something. The sound of steel being banged on was heard off the camera to the left. He snapped his to the sound. Looking back with resolution.

"I love you Lucas, make the clan of NewDawn proud." He said with a giant smile, turning around with a battle cry as ripping and tearing was heard.

"Lucas." He whispered to himself.

Lucas whipped the tears that he hadn't noticed were shed. A beeping sound went off and Lucas looked back at the screen. It opened to show Earth and her protectors.

"The Justice League."

Orbit, Earth

July 6, 00:20:49 MT

Four days had passed, and most of that was trying to figure out as much about Earth as he could and any useful information about what the Saiyans were like here.

The Saiyans seemed to be the only aliens/people from the DBZ Verse. They seemed to be a very old race, similar to how Krypton was. And all powerful supergenius warriors. Except half the people wanted to stick to their roots of bloodthirsty warriors. While the other wanted to grow and evolve.

That's what caused the civil war in Sadala. Their culture and technology was completely different from what little was known about the Saiyans. The one main technology that was now missing is the scouters. Or more accurately they still had them just missing the ability to calculate a person's power level.

Which was understandable, seeing that in the show all the technology used by the Saiyans were stolen from other races or given to them by Frieza.

From what Lucas could tell about Earth it was set in the Young Justice Verse. It seemed that canon had barely started. They had just finished infiltrating Cadmus and were now just waiting for Batman to put the team together.

Lucas' best bet would be to try and get on the team. Wasn't much else he could do. He would have no connections on Earth. And there was no way he could take on The Justice League and win.

This would give him time to get connections on Earth, maybe even with a few powerful heroes. It would also allow him to practice with his powers and have a more secure base than he would have alone. Giving him the opportunity to come up with an actual game plan.

And if he was being completely honest, who wouldn't want to hang with the Heroes of the DC. They weren't only iconic but extremely beautiful. Just thinking of Wonder Woman made his Saiyan blood boil.

"Calm yourself Lucas." He muttered to himself letting out a sigh.

The Attack Ball shook slightly as it entered the Earth's orbit. Hitting a few buttons the Attack Balls course changed slightly for America. From the course Lucas was on it looked like he'd land somewhere in Arizona.

"Great, of all the places to land and it's in some desert." Lucas mumbled to himself.

He doubted his Saiyan physiology would even be affected by it in the slightest, but it was the principle. Why couldn't he have landed in Metropolis or something.

Lucas was brought out of his thoughts when the Attack Ball crashed. He had barely even felt the crash. The ship really was an incredible piece of technology.

The pod hatch opened and Lucas took in his first breath of fresh air since being 'reborn' was probably the best word. Looking around the giant crater he was now in, Lucas could see the new crystalized glass glisten in the moonlight.

'Forgot they did that.' Lucas thought to himself floating out of the giant crater.

'I've never felt so good in my life.' Everything about Lucas had been turned up to a hundred. His strength, speed, and sense.

Floating just over the crater he could see it surrounded by The Justice League. Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern were floating above him. Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and Black Canary were on the ground.

Lucas' face was set in a neutral scowl, his Saiyan blood all ready preparing for battle. Even if he himself knew he stood no chance. Lucas still only wore the skin tight blue under suit. His tail flailing around proudly.

"Hello." Superman said with a friendly smile, floating a little closer. "My name is Superman, we are the guardians of this planet. Do you understand us?"

"I do."

Superman smiled slightly, about to speak again before he was interrupted by Batman. "What are you doing here?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Lucas spoke, annoyed. "I crashed." 'Damn, I'm really gonna have to work on my anger after this. My Saiyan blood just wants a fight to break out. Gotta keep my cool.'

Batman grunted, not looking pleased at all. Lucas began to descend, a few of the heroes tensing up as he landed in front of them. The ones that could fly joined him.

Lucas looked around him, the movies and shows really didn't give these guys credit. Even the ones without powers looked terrifying. For the most part they all wore the same suits as the show, except for the underwear on the outside.

'Thank god, I always hated how that looked.'

Lucas felt something brush against his mind. He immediately uses his Ki to protect his mind, not entirely sure if it would work. Mainly just going off instinct. The look on the Martians' faces showed that it was working. Not many people could feel when something was brushing against their mind, let alone defend against it.

'Seriously are all Superheroes also Supermodels? This is gonna be fun.' Lucas thought with an outward smile, staring at Wonder Woman.

"You can stare all you want, boy, but if you even think of touching, you will lose your hands." Wonder Woman said with a smirk.

Lucas chuckled, not taking his eyes off WW. "Are all women on this planet this beautiful and fiery?" Lucas said smirking, loving the confidence this body held. Diana smirked but said nothing.

"Back to the matter at hand." Batman said, sending a glare at the laughing Flash. "Why are you here?"

"If you hadn't noticed human, there aren't many habitable planets. Let alone ones that are enjoyable to live on." He said eying Canary this time.

'Jezz, Saiyans were never this lustful. Were they?'

Batman continued to glare at Lucas, He dropped his smirk, calming his new Saiyan behavior. He took his focus off Canary and focused back on Batman.

"My name is Lucas NewDawn. I come from the planet Sadala. My people are called Saiyans."

"And where exactly is planet Sadala and your people?" Green Lantern asked, being the one with the most knowledge of space.

Lucas looked over at the Lantern. His blood boiling, the want to kill coming out of nowhere. I guess it made sense. The Lanterns said they protected the Universe, but it could be seen as ruling.

"The Saiyans were never under the Guardians' rule, Lantern." Lucas spit the word Lantern like it was the most vile thing his mouth had tasted.

"What?" Hal said, flabbergasted. "The Guardians do rule anything, they protect the universe." Lucas laughed at Hal.

"Is that what they call it?" Hal growled slightly, he held the Guardians very highly. He took a step forward, his ring glowing slightly brighter.

"Okay, I think that's enough." Superman said, stepping in between the two. "Son, where is your planet? Maybe we could help you get back to it." Superman said with a disarming smile.

"I've heard a lot about you, Kryptonian." Lucas said surprising Superman. "You and I are very alike." Superman easily caught on to Lucas' empty smile.

"When did it happen?" Superman asked.

"Five months ago." Lucas told him, having learned about it himself while in the pod.

Batman's expression didn't change as he continued to analyze the information. He looked over at Diana and she immediately understood what he was hinting at. She stepped forward, lasso in hand.

"I doubt this is the proper place for that." The Saiyan said with a cocky smile. His body still tensed in preparation for battle.

Diana scoffed. "This is the Lasso of Hestia, it will force you to speak the truth. If you truly mean this planet no harm, you will allow me to use it on you."

He already knew what it was, who wouldn't, but his instinct kept him on alert. The Saiyan took a breath before walking forward, meeting her halfway. She wrapped it around his wrist and it began to glow.

"What is your name?" Lucas felt the pull of magic. His Ki flared, automatically defending him from it.

'I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I don't think there is Ki in the DCU. So it makes sense it was able to combat it.' He quickly settled his Ki. allowing the magic to take effect.

"My name is Lucas NewDawn."

"Why did you come here?"

"I had nowhere else to go." Lucas said truthfully, the pain showing in his voice. The strange connection this body had for it's 'father', being shown by the magic of the lasso.

"What happened to your people?" Superman asked.

"They killed themselves, and our planet." The Saiyans Ki flared in anger. "My planet has been in a civil war for a very long time. And my people are very powerful. The final battle destroyed my planet and my people with me." Superman and the Martian gave him sympathetic looks, both knowing the pain of losing their people/thinking you were alone.

"How did you survive?" Batman asked.

"My father was the leader of one of the factions. He sent me off the planet, as a last ditch effort to save our people. My pod has all the knowledge our species has ever gathered. As well as an entire codex of DNA. That will allow me to resurrect my people when I find a suitable planet." Superman was now staring intently at the young boy. His story wasn't that far off from his own.

The last son of Krypton stared at the Dark Night intently. He let out an annoyed grunt without even looking at him. Already knowing Superman had made up his mind about the whole situation.

"We can help you get situated." Batman started, stopping uncomfortably close to him. "We'll get you a place to stay and some credentials that will allow you to blend in with the populace. And some money to help you get by."

"No." Lucas cut him off. "I don't take handouts. I'm a Saiyan, if I must get help, I'm going to work for it."

Batman and Superman looked at each other. Seemingly having a mental conversation. And seeing as Manhunter was here, it was very likely.

Lucas knew Batman would put him on the team. He was an unknown, seemingly powerful one at that. He would rather have him on a team that he could monitor 24/7. It would allow him to gauge his abilities and test how truthful he was being.

It helped that he was still a child. This would've been a lot harder if he was an adult. There would've been no chance to get on the team. The League would've been a lot more hostile and not as trusting.

'The perks of youth.' Lucas thought with a mental smirk.

"Fine." Batman finally spoke. "I may have something for you."

'This is it. The beginning of my journey. A life of action, with death waiting around the corner at every step of the way. My new life in the DC verse. This is gonna be fun.'
