Hinata was exhausted. She had already emptied her coffee on the long ride over. She had to be up at four just to hope to be on time.

She walked in and introduced herself to the front desk. At first, the attendant at the counter was dismissive to her. They changed their attitude once they saw what she had been hired for. Again it seemed her clothes made her look lowly. Her sister had gotten up to style her hair, pulling the top half back and clipping it with her accessories. She wore her nicest blouse and pencil skirt, but next to everyone here, she looked cheap.

She was provided an ID and keys and shown to an elevator that would take her to the floor with her pass card.

Hinata made a small prayer in the elevator that the day would either end swiftly or go smoothly. Neither could hope for more than a brief moment.

She stepped out of the top floor and looked toward the very clear executive office.

"Hyuga Hinata." She was greeted by the man who interviewed her. She bowed as soon as she stood up straight. She was handed a thick binder. "You will want to memorize this."

Hinata nodded.

"Here is your phone." He handed her a smartphone that was brand new high end made her second-hand 5-year-old phone look like a brick. "His schedule is in it. It needs to be updated in real-time. If anyone asks him about meetings, you wait until he prompts you to tell him his options. If he doesn't, he doesn't want to schedule something, and you say nothing." He took a breath. "He rides the elevator with you, his sons, and no one else. Everyone knows this, but if someone does not, you ask them to get off." She blinked at him. "Under no circumstances does he not know about everything that is happening. If he doesn't, it is on you."

Hinata nodded, bewildered as he listed off other basics. When he took his lunch, what he wanted, who to have it delivered to, how he had his coffee when it should be refilled. She didn't leave until he did.

"He will call you at any hour of the day, and you answer if he tells you you need to be somewhere. You need to be there under an hour, it doesn't matter if it's 3 in the morning." Hinata opened her mouth and closed it immediately.

"What?" He asked.

She feared for the worse. "I live over an hour away."

"You will need to fix that." He told her flatly. "Find an apartment nearby. He practically lives here."

She pierced her lips together.

"I will be with you today, but tomorrow you are on your own." He told her. "Good luck."

Hinata let out the air she was holding as he turned from her and headed for the head's office.

Hinata quickly followed his heels.

He knocked and stepped in. "She's here, sir."

Hinata looked at the stern face man behind his desk and bowed fully. "Hinata Hyuga, sir."

"I know." The director told her flatly.

Hinata forced eye contact. Lowering her head the slightest to tell him she understood.

He snapped his fingers. "Review."

Hinata looked at the man beside her, and he pulled his phone out, and she quickly did the same, opening the same app he did. "You have..."

"Not you, her." The director snapped.

Hinata flinched and nodded. Quickly skimming the structure. "You have a meeting in 15 minutes with the development team and then another after with the head of Uzumaki Inc., lunch with ...Itachi." She wasn't sure why it was only a first name. "Then you are to be in here until 4 when you have a report from the finance department."

"Stocks." He commanded.

The man who interviewed her closed the app she was in and opened another. She rattled off the numbers.

The director eyed her silently with steel eyes. To be honest, as intimidated as she was, he seemed impressed. She was used to her father's cold eyes. This was nothing in comparison.

"Hmm." He looked at his computer screen. She looked to her right for guidance.

The man showed her to a different door then they came to the left of the office. Once, he had closed the door behind him. "This is the desk you will spend most of your time at." He explained. "When you are not accompanying him to meetings or where he tells you to be, you don't leave here."

Hinata noticed a box of personal items that hadn't been removed. "That's mine." He explained when he caught her glance.

Hinata pierced her lips together. "I am replacing you..."

"I'm moving to a different department, better than being fired." He told her with a softness he hadn't had before. "I won't lie to you. This job is hard. It's the hardest thing I have ever done. I thought the pay was worth it, but I didn't do well enough."

If she wasn't scared before, she was now. This man was much older than her, likely ten years under his belt and better schooling.

He glanced at her up and down. "I have no clue why he hired you, and to be honest, I don't think you will last a week."

Hinata wouldn't be offended, neither did she.

"I'll give you the best piece of advice you'll get. He is always right. It doesn't matter if he says the sky is purple. You say yes, sir." From the look on his face, it may have been advised that he didn't follow.

Hinata nodded.
