XxxX Hinata POV XXx
The trip to the mural was fast. Despite her being about 30 minutes early, Itachi seemed to be even earlier. He was leaning against a large tree, eyes closed, and arms crossed. Soaking in the sun, she assumed.
She quietly sat next to him, about a foot between them. It seemed to be an appropriate distance? She was not the best judge, as both Naruto and Sasuke were always in her space.
The weather was lovely; the cicada sung, the breeze was gentle, and the air smelled of moss. It was tranquil, and a lovely time to be outside. She sat back, leaning against the same huge tree.
Itachi drooped against the tree slightly, his breathing becoming quiet. Ah, he must have fallen asleep, she smiled. The poor man probably came right from his mission! It wouldn't be bad to leave him sleep for now.
The sun rest against the horizon, painting the sky with beautiful color. If only she could capture the moment, the beauty was so vivid it threatened to overtake her heart. Then, the colors shifted, the clouds becoming dark, and night taking over. So many stars, the sky was anew.
How long had it been? A few hours at least. Any longer, and her father would be angry.
Ah. He was already angry. Going home was scary. Being in the same place, no where to hide… Perhaps she would stay here a bit longer, and selfishly enjoy the peace. She yawned, a bit tired from the day. She would go before she felt too sleepy… She looked over to Itachi, who's chest steadily rose and fell. Plus, it would be a shame to wake him so early.

He had not meant to fall asleep.
The sky was dark, but the moon and stars shone. By the moons position, it seemed to be about midnight. Damn it. When was the last time he slept so long? Or so heavily? God, years. Although the mission was heavy on mind and body, he never felt fatigued enough to slumber. Yet, it had been hours. Hinata must have left, seeing how late it was.
Then, he felt the weight on his arm. He looked down, seeing her petite body leaning against him, her head against his chest.
Oh.
How… Did she touch him without him waking? How did she get so close?
Originally, he has his eyes closed when she approached. A test. He wanted to see what she would do when he seemed vulnerable. When she sat next to him without a word, he kept still, curious of her actions. He had expected her to kiss him, touch him, something. Yet, she maintained a respectful distance, and remained silent.
The warmth of the air, the buzz of the summer, lulled him to a peaceful state. Perhaps, just perhaps, Hinata's presence had something to do with it as well.
Odd.
He was never able to sleep peacefully around Izumi. She was always restless, it made it near impossible for him to sleep in the same space as her.
Hinata moved slightly, her nose scrunching up. She must be dreaming, cute.
Carefully, he scooped her up into his arms. Why was she so light? Winter wind would easily sweep her away, and she would be lost to the great snow. Although the thought was worrying, he needed to stop.
Hinata was a Shinobi, and had already proved herself stronger than most thought. Despite her age, her chakra control was great, as was her awareness and taijutsu. Luckily, she did not need to face war as he had. She did not need to grow, nor forcibly learn how to survive.
It was time to take her home.
Hinata slept so soundly in his arms, even as he jumped rooftop to rooftop, he had to wonder if perhaps she was under Genjutsu.
No, there was no way. She was… Simply sleeping peacefully.
He snuck passed the guard, and landed by her room. Why did he know her room? Itachi was always thorough.
In her room, was her cousin. He sat at the door, legs crossed, eyes closed.
"I thought something had happened to her." Her cousin spoke, white eyes opening. The veins around them buldged, showing he was using his kekkei genkai. As they both knew, was forbidden in the Hyugga compound.
He admired his cousins love for her. It seemed to be the type of love he had for his sibling, protective yet gentle. Ah, what was this little twinge of jealousy he felt in his chest? Nothing, he assumed.
"We had fallen asleep. Do not worry, she is fine." He placed her down onto her bed gently, watching as she curled up into a ball. Cute.
"As an adult, you should have made sure she was back home on time."
"Yes."
"Bring her back on time."
It felt like he was being lectured by a civilian father.
"Hn."
He turned heel, and left. There was nothing more to say.
Soon, he was in his room. He was supposed to meet Izumi after Hinata, but now it was too late.
Hinata… He thought back to her sleeping face, and the cute curve of her lips. Her scent wafted around him, making him blink. He smelled his shirt, surprised it smelled faintly of lavender.
Then, the guilt. If Hinata could leave her smell on him after only a few hours… Izumi must as well.
Guilt? He felt guilty? She was a child. Yes, promised to him, but he did not need to actually feel obligated to their relationship until she had matured-
She was already mature.
Shonibi aged faster.
He took off his shirt, tossing it to the side.
He would need to break things off with Izumi sooner then expected. But… How? …When? All he knew is, the guilt of having a lover was not something he was going to live with.
Itachi was a faithful man.
