Chapter One: Prologue

I don't own Digimon or Harry Potter

"Well, today was certainly a fun day. It was nice to have some of the others come to the Digital World again, I almost forgot what it was like having them around." Daisuke Ainsworth, the Digidestined of Miracles said with a smile as she walked out of the school and began heading for home as the sun was setting in the sky.

She had russet red hair done up in a short ponytail, around her neck was a pair of circle goggles, she wore a pink t-shirt that had a fearsome looking dragon on the front breathing fire in the air, a blue jacket with fur around her neck and flame designs around the bottom of the jacket, a blue skirt with tight black shorts under the skirt and she wore red and white converse shoes and fingerless gloves.

In her arms, her Digimon partner Veemon, currently in his In-Training form, Demi-Veemon looked up at her with a bright smile. "Yep, yep. And we made new friends with Yolei and Cody and their Digimon." He chirped.

"And we had our first encounter with the Digimon Emperor today." Daisuke continued, stopping at the lights waiting for the green light to cross. "He needs to be stopped before he can enslave the entire Digital World."

"Don't worry Daisuke, I'll protect ya from him. Nobody's going to hurt my best friend and partner." Demi-Veemon chirped cutely as he puffed out his chest earning a giggle from the ten-year-old girl.

"Thanks, Demi-Veemon, I feel safe with my big strong dragon around." She said kissing his forehead as she crossed the street and headed for her family's apartment.

Soon they had arrived, and Daisuke kicked off her shoes at the door as she opened it. "Hey, I'm home!" she called out.

"Welcome home squirt." A beautiful young woman greeted as Daisuke stepped into the living room. The young woman had wild and spiky magenta hair and light brown eyes wearing a purple top with a jack o'lantern which seemed to move its mouth as if it were laughing on the front, a short black skirt and leggings and leather fingerless scale like gloves on her hands.

This was Jun Motomiya, Daisuke's cousin who attended a boarding school most of the year, but she was home now due to it being the beginning of the two-month holiday she had before going back for the new year.

She currently was reading a very thick tome while scribbling something with a quill onto a piece of parchment. "How the heck does Professor Snape expect me to stretch this essay out to 15 inches?" she mumbled under her breath. "I swear sometimes that guy loves making my life difficult." She stopped upon noticing the Digimon in her sister's arms who was looking at her with wide and curious eyes.

"Are mom and dad around?" Daisuke asked, not noticing Jun's curious gaze aimed at Demi-Veemon.

"Uncle Alexander in his study and Aunt Natsumi is reading a new book, why?" Jun answered, closing the book gently.

"I need to tell you all something and introduce you to someone." Daisuke answered.

"Right…this have anything to do with the baby dragon in your arms?" Jun asked with a raised eyebrow.

"More or less." Daisuke answered, making her sigh.

"Alright, I'll go get them." She told the young girl before she walked off to find her aunt and uncle.

"Are you going to tell them about the Digital World and about me Dai?" Demi-Veemon asked, looking up at her curiously.

"I have to Vee; I can't lie to my family and believe me when I tell you that they've heard crazier things and it will help us when we need to stay late at the computer lab." She assured him.

"Okay, I'm with ya Dai." He chirped with a smile before both heard a small explosion coming from a room down the hall. "What was that?" Demi-Veemon asked with wide eyes watching purple and green smoke billow out from under a door before it opened.

"That would be my father, probably working on some new-fangled potion." Daisuke answered, rolling her eyes fondly as her father stumbled out of the room coughing a few times.

"Okay, must have stirred that potion one too many times." The man said before coughing out some sparkling mist and running a hand through his short spiky russet red hair, the same colour of his daughter's hair. "Hey starlight, when did you get home?" he then asked, noticing Daisuke sitting at the table smiling at him.

"Just a few minutes ago." She answered before blinking and then giggling. "Papa, do you know you've got cute puppy ears on your head now?"

Alexander blinked and quickly held his hands up to his head and felt the two new furry appendages sticking out of his hair. "Well, there's something you don't see every day." He muttered softly before glancing at his butt to see if he had grown a tail as well but to his relief there was no tail.

"Oh Alexander, not again." Another voice muttered followed by Jun laughing as she and an older woman walked into the room.

This was Natsumi Ainsworth néeMotomiya, Daisuke's mother and she had short and spiky purple hair with golden brown eyes which her daughter shared, she wore jeans, boots and a white blouse and a choker around her neck with a star pendant attached to it.

"Do I need to ensure you have constant supervision when making potions, again?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips while looking at her husband who sheepishly giggled.

"Sorry dear." He spoke.

"Next time, why don't you follow the instructions rather than experiment with ingredients you don't know how they'll react with each other." Jun told her uncle as she sat at the table and turned to Daisuke. "Alright squirt, out with it. What's this you need to tell us?"

"Well first, I would like you all to meet someone." Daisuke said, holding Demi-Veemon up in her hands she smiled at her family. "This is Demi-Veemon, say hi."

"Hello." The cute young dragon cheered, waving his tiny arms at the three humans who all blinked and looked at him in shock.

"Demi-whatmon?" Jun asked. Natsumi and Alexander shared a look before sitting down either side of their niece.

"Okay, well I suppose it all started yesterday after school." Daisuke said beginning her story, she started with how Kari got an email from her brother Tai saying he was in trouble and how it led to her being dragged along to the computer room meeting some other kids along the way along with what happened after they had entered the computer room.

"Wait, so you're saying a computer shot out three lights and you caught one and it turned into some weird device that then sucked you into the computer?" her father asked with wide eyes.

Daisuke nodded and slowly she pulled out her Digivice from her pocket and showed it to her family. "Yeah, I've only had it for today and yesterday but from what I know so far it seems to be very important." She explained.

"Yep, Daisuke uses it to help me Digivolve." Demi-Veemon chirped.

"Slow down, Vee. I need to tell them how I met you first." Daisuke chided her partner gently; she cleared her throat and her parents and cousin waited for her to continue the story which she did.

She explained how she and the others ran into Tai after entering the Digital World and learned more about what was going on in the world and how someone named the Digimon Emperor was threatening to take over the entire world by enslaving all the Digimon.

"How horrible." Natsumi whispered feeling sympathy for the Digimon while Alexander crossed his arms with a dark look in his eyes, memories from the past surfacing about when another evil human tried to take over the world as Daisuke finished her story.

"So, to clarify, you now have to help some other kids and their…Digimon right?" Jun asked and Daisuke nodded. "To save another world from some crazy tyrant who is trying to take over that world all while balancing your schoolwork and normal life?"

"Pretty much. I thought I would tell you so that you didn't worry too much." Daisuke explained.

"Well, we're going to still worry now you've told us." Natsumi told her daughter, she then sighed gently. "But…knowing how stubborn you are, I know trying to stop you from doing this won't work."

"Just promise us you will be careful." Alexander said softly. "And I also would like to meet these friends of yours when you have time, I want to make sure they're able to help you."

"Sure, thing papa," she chirped with a smile.

"Just one more thing Daisuke," Jun said, crossing her arms. "How are you going to keep control of your powers while in the Digital World, no doubt it'll be a stressful time saving a whole world."

"I can handle it, it's not like when I was seven years old when those Digimon attacked us." Daisuke replied.

Demi-Veemon blinked and looked up at his partner. "What do you mean, Dai?" Daisuke looked at her cousin with a frown before she looked at her partner.

"Well, it's kind of hard to explain. But I'll do my best." She told him.

*Flashback: Daisuke, Age 7*

Daisuke hummed to herself as she sat in her bedroom sitting on her bed reading a new storybook her mother had bought her, this one had actual moving pictures thanks to the spells used by the one who made it. But she was told to never show it to anyone because it would get them in trouble with other people of their kind.

She turned the page in the book when she heard something shatter in the other room. "Get away from my niece you monsters!" she heard her uncle shout.

"Papa?" she whispered dropping the book before rushing to the door, she slowly opened it and her eyes widened seeing her father being grabbed by several large and scary looking ghost like creatures while Jun was lifted into the air by another one as the older girl struggled.

"Stop squirming you little runt!" the ghost shouted before howling in pain as Jun bit down on the ghost's arm, she was dropped and ran over to Natsumi who had just walked out of another room.

"Get them!" the other ghosts shouted; Alexander managed to kick one ghost holding his leg away before he was knocked over by another.

"Papa!" Daisuke gasped loudly; she covered her mouth in fright as she saw a ghost look towards the door.

"Hey, someone's in there!" the ghost shouted, Daisuke stumbled back before she dove under her bed to hide as the ghost pushed open the door and began looking around. "Where are you kid, you can't hide from me."

Daisuke whimpered quietly, holding her hands over her mouth to keep herself from making a noise as the ghost floated around looking for the girl. "Go away, please go away." She begged before the ghost turned, it then dived down under the bed and grabbed the girl who screamed as it dragged her out of the room.

"Let my cousin go, you jerks!" Jun shouted as she struggled as more ghosts held her arms and legs.

"Daisuke!" Natsumi shouted, struggling to try and reach for something in her clothing.

"Let me go!" Daisuke shouted as the ghost holding her growled.

"Stop squirming or we're going to eat you all for lunch." The ghost threatened unaware of Daisuke's eyes beginning to glow completely gold.

"Leave my family…alone!" She shouted and a powerful gust of wind slammed into all the ghosts throwing them against the walls as she and her family were released, her parents and cousin sharing a shocked expression as the girl stood up as several pieces of furniture gained a golden aura and began floating and attacking the ghosts chasing them all out of the apartment.

Daisuke then fell onto her butt as her eyes stopped glowing before Alexander scooped her up in his arms. "Papa…hm...wh…what happened…I feel…tired…"

"It's okay starlight, you'll be okay." He said softly, looking at his wife he nodded, Natsumi nodded back helping Jun to her feet before Alexander carried Daisuke off into a room and his wife and Jun followed him inside, the door then glowed brightly before it vanished from sight leaving a blank place on the wall.

*End Flashback*

"And that's what happened when the Digimon invaded Odaiba years ago." Daisuke said softly.

"Whoa…that's awesome." Demi-Veemon cheered.

"And dangerous, Daisuke didn't wake up for the rest of the day. So, you can see why we're worried about her going to the Digital World." Natsumi said.

"Don't worry, I'll keep Dai safe." Demi-Veemon promised, puffing his chest out proudly as the older woman giggled softly.

"That's comforting to know. Now Daisuke, even though you'll be with others and Demi-Veemon we still want you to be careful."

"Thanks for understanding guys." Daisuke said softly. "I'll be careful as I can be, I promise." She then walked to her room holding Demi-Veemon in her arms as her parents and cousin shared a look and did not speak until she closed the door to her room.

"Let us hope she doesn't have another accidental outburst of magic. While I have faith in our daughter, there is still a risk." Alexander said softly.

"We'll have to hope when she gets her letter when she turns eleven, she'll learn to control her magic like all children her age." Natsumi said.

"And if she needs help, we'll be there for her, always." Jun said with a determined expression. "No way my cousin is going to be isolated and alone if something happens."

"Spoken like a true Motomiya." Alexander said softly, hugging the girl. "Now come on, let's get dinner started. Hopefully, these ears of mine will go away on their own before I have to go to work tomorrow."

"If not, you could always have me do the potion brewing next time." Natsumi cooed with a teasing smile making her niece laugh while her husband pouted and looked away earning a laugh from his wife.
