A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Dino Charge rewrite. Again, don't be alarmed if some chapters are like the ones in canon (save for a few changes). They will be more and more different down the line. In fact, this is technically when they'll start to change drastically.

Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Dino Charge or Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.

Break the Chains That Divide

Power Rangers: Dino Charge REDO

Season 1, Episode 09: Imprisoned

Seaview Ridgeway, Amber Beach, California

June 11, 2017

Callie cheered as she picked up Tyler's bracelet. This was the thing she'd been searching for all day. Tyler was definitely in for a surprise when she returned to the base, and she honestly just wanted to see him smile.

But everything turned sour the moment she placed the bracelet inside her pocket for safe keeping.

As soon as she turned around to head back to the base, she was immediately hit in the head by a monster she didn't recognize, but clearly had a connection to Sledge, and the force left her out cold and knocked a certain something out of her pocket.

Callie didn't know how much time had passed since that moment, but she did know that her head really hurt when she finally came to. She was afraid that her forehead was bleeding, but she didn't have any way of knowing for sure.

Because when she tried to move her hands, she quickly found them and her ankles chained up.

"What's going on?" she asked no one in particular. She didn't know where she was, or why it was so dark or dirty. Her head also hurt, both from where that monster hit her, but also because her hearing aids were picking something up that her ears didn't agree with (like a high pitched sound), and she didn't know how to make herself feel better.

The voice that answered made her jump out of her skin in fear, "Are all of you humans stupid? You're my prisoner."

Fury?! What was he doing here?

Callie tried her best to not show her fear, immediately choosing to stop her struggling, "What do ye want with me?"

"Don't act so tough, human," Fury shot back. "A mere Spikeball was strong enough to knock you out."

"Don't underestimate humans," she replied as calmly as humanly possible in this situation. "It may be the last mistake ye ever make."

Fury laughed out loud, "You humans are hilarious! That's the best joke I've ever heard!"

It wasn't a joke, but Callie wisely chose to stay quiet. She knew from watching his fight with Tyler that Fury was not an opponent you wanted to mess around with.

So she just asked, "What do ye want with me?"

Fury finally cut to the chase, "Your actions tell me that you know the Rangers personally."

"Ye're wrong," Callie quickly replied, her heart beating loudly in her chest in fear. "It was just a coincidence. When humans see an injustice, they have ta stop it." She couldn't be a burden to the Rangers, not right now. Not when they had the Ptera Zord to worry about.

But Fury's next words clearly told her that he had caught her in that lie, which was funny, because all he said was, "You referred to the Ranger's Energem tracker as an 'E-Tracer'."

It was then that she knew exactly why Fury had taken her prisoner, because his logic was telling him that if she knew what the E-Tracer was, then there no doubt that she knew how it worked and how to build it.

He was wrong, though. She did not know how to build it (she was an artist, not a technician), but she was the one who made the initial sketches. Despite how flawed Fury's logic was, she still had to be careful, because she did know exactly how to make it work.

Nevertheless, she chose to drop the act, and sternly told him, "I won't tell you a single thing, Fury."

Fury's demeanor immediately turned into what reminding Callie of a bully or an abusive partner, "You'd be surprised, human. I have rather creative ways of making you talk."

In spite of her inward panicking, Callie somehow managed to keep her composure, "We'll see."

Kendall glanced up when the five Rangers returned from searching the city for Callie later that evening. The pizza had gotten cold, which was sad but understandable considering that none of them felt like eating or sleeping ever since Kendall told them the news about Callie five hours earlier.

She couldn't blame any of them for not wanting to rest. She felt the same way, because Callie was definitely not the person to leave someone else hanging, especially that someone was a group of Rangers that she had allied herself with.

As soon as Kendall looked at their faces, she knew how their search went, "I'm guessing you didn't find Callie." Silence as the five just put their Energems back in the crystal beds and their Chargers in the docking stations. She then asked, "Any clues as to where she could be?"

"No," Tyler finally spoke up.

"Just this," Chase held up a yellow surfboard keychain, the exact one that he had given her.

As Chase placed it inside his pocket, Kendall's mind immediately got to work, "Interesting. Where did you find it?"

"Seaview Ridgeway," Riley said. "Why?"

"So, the keychain fell out of her pocket," Kendall ignored him. Not on purpose. Her mind was just on a roll, so it was easier to ignore him until she was done. "But if she just left, say for home, then why'd she leave it behind? She must've been attacked by...of course...it makes sense."

"Ms. Morgan?" Shelby asked, her and the other four concerned.

Kendall swallowed the lump in her throat, "This is my fault. I'm the one who told Callie to get the E-Tracer back by herself. I'm sorry, I should've told her to wait for you."

"Who do you think Callie was attacked by?" Chase asked, his voice stained with anger. No, Kendall realized, no just anger. It was mixed with desperation. What most would call a protective streak...

Kendall took a deep breath, before answering, "Fury."

An understanding immediately swept over the group, and fear started to be replaced with anger, and sorrow with determination.

"The E-Tracer," Shelby realized. "Callie's the only one who knows how it actually works. She's the one who made the sketches."

"She not tell Fury anything," Koda reassured them.

"We know," Riley replied. "Because we know Callie. The goofball who's loyal to a freakin' fault."

"Yeah, but we also know Fury," Tyler reminded them.

"Which is why we need to save her as soon as possible," Chase agreed.

"It's true," Shelby explained. "Eventually, Fury's temper will get the best of him, most likely when he'll get tired of Callie keeping her mouth shut, and he will. Eventually, he will get physical with her."

"We can't let that happen," Tyler decided, partly on behalf of Chase's sanity. He could clearly see how hard the Kiwi was taking all of this.

Koda saw Kendall yawn, and asked her, "You okay, Kendall?"

The others turned to her as she replied, "Yeah, I'm fine. I've just been working double time on a project."

"You should probably take a break," Riley gently told her. "Overworking yourself is not healthy."

"I can't," Kendall told them. "With the Zandar Treasures exhibit this Friday, trying to find five lost Energems without the E-Tracer, Fury now in charge of the Ptera Zord, and Callie now being kidnapped by Fury, can you really blame me?"

No, they could not. They were all stressed to the max right now. The exhibit would be stressful enough (imagine putting together an entire set full of antique artifacts that had been loaned to you), but throw in the other three, and you had a solid recipe for disaster.

Kendall continued, "As you guys already know, Callie shared some ideas with me, hoping that I could bring a couple of them to life." She unhooked five brand new Chargers from her machine and held them out to the Rangers. "One of those ideas is called Dino Drive."

"Dino Drive?" Tyler asked, as they each took one of the new Chargers and studied.

"Yes," Kendall nodded. "According to Callie, it's a new armor mode that's supposed to have enough energy to power up the Megazord by itself, so your regular Chargers can focus all of their own power on strengthening you guys. At least, in theory. I haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet, so it's still a prototype."

"You are amazing, Kendall," Koda commended her, patting her on the back rather roughly. She knew it was a gesture of affection, but sometimes, Koda didn't seem to know his own strength. She found herself smiling at him in return, regardless.

"Awesome," Tyler found himself smiling. "Fury won't know what hit him."

"Let's hope so."

Kendall was about to continue, but their conversation was interrupted by a phone ringing. They all checked their pockets, but their own cells were silent. The atmosphere immediately changed when they realized that the sound was coming from Callie's messenger bag (which she left in the base).

Chase was the only one brave enough to check to see who was calling. He did not speak a word as he showed the others the Caller I.D., and they all immediately took in a sharp breath of stress-filled worry.

Seán McLoughlin.

Chase bravely pressed the answer button, ready (but also not really) to talk to Callie's sole guardian, "Hello?"

"Who is this? Where's Callie?" came Seán's frantic voice, and Chase did not have to heart to tell him the truth, that Callie had been kidnapped by an enemy of the Rangers.

The others were surprised that Chase was able to stay so calm, "This is Callie's friend, Chase. Don't worry, she's at my place. We have a group project we need to work on, and she's currently sleeping before we pull an all-nighter."

Seán was quiet, before asking, "When do ye think ye'll be done?"

"Not sure," Chase admitted. That part was true. "Hopefully the day after tomorrow. I'll try my best to keep you posted, but you know how Callie gets when she has a project." Also true. Once Callie got started on a project, it was difficult to get her to stop and take a break.

Seán lightly chuckled, "Very true." He paused again, "Alright, Chase. I trust ye. Keep her safe."

"I will, I promise," Chase quietly replied, before letting Seán hang up. Chase sighed as he lowered Callie's phone from his ear, before he quietly told the others, "We have until the day after tomorrow to find Callie. Seán's really good at hiding it, but I can tell that he's very worried right now."

"Don't worry, Chase," Tyler vowed, "we'll find her."

Kendall's cellphone suddenly started to ring, and she picked it up. After a few moments, she thanked the person on the other end before hanging up. She then turned to the Rangers and said, "The Zandar Treasures have arrived. Time to unload."

The sun was going down as Kendall and the five Rangers had just finished unloading the crates of artifacts for the Treasures of Zandar exhibit from the loading docks onto the museum floor.

Riley was looking at a painting of a knight, "Wow, this exhibit has the Stone of Zandar?" The others looked at him as they all continued to move crates around.

"What's that?" Shelby asked, curious.

"Well, if you believe the legend, it all started when this knight, Sir Ivan," Riley motioned to the painting he was standing next to, "found the Stone in a creek." He was a skeptic when it came to stuff like this, but some people actually believed it to be history, so he was intrigued as to who was right.

"What happened next?" Koda excitedly asked. He loved story-telling with a passion.

Riley continued, "Well, according to the legend, three hundred years ago, the young Prince Colin of Zandar was being escorted home by Sir Ivan. After traveling for several miles deep into the forest, the prince demanded that they stop for water."

Shelby cut him off, "Ugh, seriously? Just because he's a prince, he can't say 'please'?" She did not like royalty, like princes or princesses, or any other cheesy romance stories with main characters that were royalty, mostly because romance stories like that just either sexist or unrealistic, often both.

Besides, the only girly thing about Shelby Watkins was that she liked the color pink. That was it. She was a tomboy, through and through.

Riley cleared his throat, quietly noting how Tyler was smiling at Shelby's rant, "That's not the point, Shelby. The point is that while they were stopped, the knight noticed something shimmering in the creek. He reached out and picked it up, before giving it to the prince. Just then, they were attacked by a mysterious figure that wanted to claim the Stone for themselves. The prince never saw Sir Ivan after that, so the Stone of Zandar is now the only remaining witness to that day. Or so the legend says." He shrugged.

"You think it's just a legend, mate," Chase told him, "but to the people of Zandar, it's a part of their history."

Riley thought about this, before nodding, unable to deny the truth in Chase's words.

Meanwhile, Tyler had gone back to checking the contents of the crates, and he found a beautiful gold ring that once belonged to a former king of Zandar that he found himself interested in. "Wow, look at all this stuff. This is treasure that an explorer can only hope to find on an expedition."

"You would be into this stuff, Mr. Adventurer," Shelby teased, as she held a beautiful diamond tiara in her hands. "I mean, look at this tiara. It's worth a small fortune. Do you know how many people that can feed? But some selfish princess keeps it in a box, just in case she wants to wear it to the grand ball. What a waste," she mocked as she placed the tiara on her head.

"So you dislike those kinds of stories too?" Tyler asked, a smile on his face.

"'Too'?" Shelby asked. "Why do you hate them?"

Tyler chuckled, "Shelbs, I grew up with a mom and a sister who are both the toughest women I know. They may need help sometimes, but they are certainly no damsels."

AKA: I learned at a very young age to always drink my 'respect women' juice.

Shelby smiled back, before putting the tiara back inside the crate.

Kendall tapped on her clipboard, "Alright, enough chit-chat, Rangers. It's time to put this exhibit together. Let's start with the Stone of Zandar. Box 15c." The five turned to the said crate and surrounded it. Before they could touch it, Kendall warned, "Be careful with it. It's one of Zandar's most valuable treasures."

However, the moment the five Rangers lifted the crate, the box began to glow a bright golden light.

"What in the world?" Chase asked, as the five cautiously placed the box back down on the ground.

"Our Energems!" Koda exclaimed, and the six noticed that the five Energems were glowing as well, from under their owners' shirts, each in their own respective colors. "What going on?"

"No idea..." Tyler said, as the glowing subsided. "But it looks like it stopped."

"Try lifting it again," Kendall quietly suggested as she walked closer to the crate. The Ranger went in to lift the box again, but a strong surge of energy burst the crate open, causing the six to shield themselves in brief fright.

As the six regained their composure, Riley asked, "Everyone okay?"

"Yeah," Shelby replied, she and the other four slowly approaching the crate.

The six looked inside to see something surprising, something none of them was expecting.

"The Stone of Zandar is..." Shelby breathed.

"The Gold Energem," Tyler finished.

It was nighttime now. After organizing all the crates, the six had immediately rushed to the base to check if what they were seeing was true.

"Unbelievable," Kendall said as she took the Stone out of the transmeter. "It's authentic. This is the real Gold Energem."

"Welcome back, my old friend," Keeper said, before explaining. "I haven't seen it since it bonded to the pteradactyl 65 million years ago."

"But how did it end up in Zandar?" Chase wondered.

"Zandar's in Europe," Shelby remembered, "and lots of pteradactyl fossils have been found there."

"At least we know it's not in the wrong hands," Tyler said, a happy and relieved gleam in his hands.

"Yes, but our job of protecting has only just begun," Keeper explained.

Kendall reached under the lab table and pulled out a silver briefcase and opened it to reveal three batches of replicas of all eleven Energems, "Fortunately, Callie has us covered there. She so very graciously, painstakingly made all of these fake Energems out of saltdough last week."

To be honest, Callie always had them covered, something they were always grateful for. She thought of everything, quite literally. Must've been a side effect of how observant she was.

"I'm thinking about using one of these copies in the exhibit," Kendall admitted, "just in case."

"A wise choice," Keeper agreed.

"And when it comes time to pack it all up and send it back to Zandar?" Riley asked.

"I'm still working through that part," Kendall replied. "But one of the things I am certain of is that...if Fury gets his hands on this," she held up the Gold Energem, "then he would have unlimited power over the Ptera Zord."

"Then, you right, Keeper," Koda agreed. "We hide it."

"Or," Tyler spoke up, "we could tell Fury exactly where it is."

The others looked at him in utter confusion.

"Why on Earth," Riley asked, "would we do that?"

Tyler's voice went soft as he replied, almost pleading with them, "Look, guys, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I have a plan, and it may be the only chance we have to save Callie before it's too late."

He was being honest, but he couldn't help but notice that saying such a thing made the other relax significantly. And he understood why, as right now, any hope concerning Callie was welcome.

"Alright," Chase chose to trust Tyler.

Shelby turned to the Red Ranger with a knowing smile on her face, "Are you thinking what I think you're thinking?"

Tyler shot her a smile, "Yeah, good thinking."

Callie had lost track of time a while ago. How long had she been here? She had also stopped struggling against the chains that held her against the wall hours ago, and had just let her head pound away in pain, hoping it would go away in time (it had not, at least not yet). There was no guarantee that she could actually break free, and even if she did, she was definitely no match at all against Fury, her captor.

She could still feel Tyler's bracelet in her cardigan pocket, which brought her mind to a more positive route.

Surely the Rangers would get her out, right? It was currently her only bane of hope that she had.

But that was assuming that they knew she was missing.

Did they even know that she was missing, or were they blissfully unaware?

Callie tried her best not to let this fear grow, knowing that it could possibly lead to her becoming the Host of an Inner Monster, but it was very difficult.

She just felt so alone...

Old Deboth Castle, Amber Beach, California

June 12, 2017

Wrench had stolen the old medical equipment from the abandoned laboratory, on Fury's request. It was weird to see Fury so humble, but it was honestly the right punishment for him, considering that he so selfishly ruined their chances to permanently claim the Energem tracker from the Rangers.

He just finished setting it up, when Fury entered the room with the empty Ptera Charger.

"You ready yet?" Seems Fury was still impatient. At least he wasn't trying to give orders he had no authority to give.

"It's all set up," Wrench confirmed, and Fury handed him the Ptera Charger.

Fury sat down in the chair as Wrench hooked the Charger up to the machine, before doing the same to Fury.

Once done, Wrench turned to Fury, "Ready?"

"Just do it," Fury said, and Wrench started up the machine. The energy being inside Fury immediately formed, seemingly in more agony than during the same process yesterday. But nothing was happening with the Charger. "Why isn't it charging?!"

"That thing inside you!" Wrench deduced. "It's blocking the energy transfer!" The prescence started to exert some control over Fury, forcefully shutting down the lab equipment itself.

"How-?!" Fury was confused and surprised. He wasn't expecting to lose control over that being so quickly. "Please, give me the Charger, Wrench."

"But it's not even half-full," Wrench told him, but held out the Charger anyway.

"Hopefully, it's enough," Fury said as he took the Charger back. "It has to be. Otherwise, I'm no use to Sledge or any of you..."

Fury walked out of the room, stewing in how hopeless everything in his life was becoming. He stopped when he walked by the theatre and seeing something on the screen, and Poisandra and Curio watching it.

He entered the room, asking, "What's going on here, Poisandra?"

"Oh hey, Fury. We're watching the latest episode of my favorite Earth show, Glitz World," Poisandra replied, both she and Curio incredibly cheerful. "And before you order...sorry, ask me to turn it off, just remember that you have no authority anymore, so I have seniority."

"Would you like to stay and watch it with us?" Curio offered.

Fury cleared his throat, "No thanks. I have to pass, because I still have work to do, unlike others."

It was meant as a jab that Poisandra was probably relaxing on the job, but she was unfazed.

"Well, unlike you, furball," she shot back, "I can afford to take a break. I'm not at the very bottom of the command chain." Fury immediately shut his mouth after this.

"How's your prisoner?" Curio asked, genuinely curious.

"Keeping her mouth shut," Fury truthfully relayed. "She's really starting to get on my nerves."

Just then, the screen returned to the show after a commercial break, and the announcer started to speak, "Before we return to our scheduled program, a special announcement! The Stone of Zandar has it's grand opening exhibit this Thursday, and at noon today, there will be a rare, special appearance from the prince and his new bride in order to help launch the exhibit. And the princess will be wearing the Stone itself!"

The three were caught off-guard when the screen showed the Stone of Zandar.

"The Gold Energem!" Curio realized.

This was Fury's chance to get an Energem and regain his position as General, but in order to get the mission, he had to humble himself to his most hated rival: Poisandra.

Just as he was about to, however, Poisandra surprised him, "Fury, can we trust you to retrieve the Gold Energem?"

"Yes!" He bowed deeply.

"Alright, we'll give this mission to you," Poisandra told him. "We'll give you another chance, in return, however, for being nicer to me from now on."

"The princess will be wearing the Stone itself! Tune in today at noon, only on Glitz World!"

Kendall, Riley, Koda, and Chase were watching the television set that was in the base.

"Yes! Our fake story make it to TV," Koda exclaimed. This was part of their plan. They needed to lure Fury out. As Tyler said, it was probably the only way to save Callie without placing her in even more danger than she already was.

"Yeah, good job, Ms. Morgan," Riley said. Kendall was the only one who could pull the strings to make this happen. All the Rangers had to do was ensure Tyler's plan's success. "Let's just hope Poisandra catches it."

"I heard her say to Curio that she never misses an episode," Chase quipped, before turning off the television set, just as a crash sounded in one of the caves.

"This is the WORST!"

"And now for phase two of the plan..." Riley said.

Shelby walked out into the main area, trying to hold up her very dressy, fluffy, pink strapless ballgown, and stumbling in her heels. Her hair was up in a tight bun, with a small veiled hat on the side of her face that hid her face just enough for her so that she wouldn't be recognized, and a silver tiara on the top of her head. She also had elbow-length, satin gloves on, and the Gold Energem was tethered to a black cord around her neck.

There was no smile on her face whatsoever, as it had been replaced by an angry frown, but nevertheless, Shelby looked like a princess, so it was a mission complete on that front.

"Wow, you look..." Chase trailed off.

"Like cotton candy!" Koda finished with a big smile on his face.

Shelby immediately shot them all a death glare, "I can barely breathe. And my feet feel like they're getting chomped on by alligators." She paused. "No way, uh-uh. I refuse to be a whiny," she took off one shoe, "spoiled princess," and she took off the other shoe.

Chase sassed, "Well, it sounds like you don't have to pretend."

In response, Shelby angrily threw one of her shoes at him, but he caught it easily.

"But Shelby, you have to," Koda tried to encourage her.

"Yeah, we know you hate this," Riley quickly jumped in. "But remember who we're doing this for."

He sincerely wasn't trying to guilt-trip her, but him reminding her of Callie's situation significantly calmed her down. It was like last night, when Tyler admitted that his plan was solely to save Callie. Before, they are all apprehensive of telling Fury where the Gold Energem was, but when the Red Ranger had explained why, they had all becoming more willing to go along with his plan.

They would definitely do the same for anyone on the team, but right now, the Rangers were united in their goal to save Callie.

"Yeah, you're right," Shelby's glare was replaced with determination. "Who knows what she went through last night? Being all alone in who-knows-where..."

"Let's try not to think about that," Chase quickly jumped in, obviously not wanting himself to spiral down a path he would be unable to get out of. "Let's focus on the plan for now."

"Fair enough," Shelby respected Chase's wish. "Don't worry, guys. I'm more than willing to take one for the team, but can I, at least, wear flats instead? It's really hard for me to walk in heels and look natural."

Kendall simply smiled and handed her a box of pink colored flats. Shelby gratiously took them, and as she was putting them on her pained feet, the doors of the base opened to reveal Tyler, dressed in a polished, red military suit with a blue sash that had several medals pinned to it, black dress pants, black dress suits, and white cloth gloves on his hands. Tyler's hair was combed over and his diguise to avoid being recognized was a fake mustache. Judging by his posture, he was definitely embracing his role as the prince of Zandar.

Shelby's breath got caught in her throat when Tyler came in. She had to admit that Tyler looked really handsome.

Tyler tossed his hat over to Koda, who easily caught it and placed it on top of his own head, and asked, "Awesome, isn't it?"

"You do look good, mate," Chase complimented. "Both of you."

Shelby had gotten her flats on by this point, and she faked a curtsey, "Thank you, kind sir." Chase managed a smile, despite his concern for Callie (and to be honest, that's all Shelby wanted).

"Alright," Riley stepped in, "Shelby's ready. Tyler's ready. Everything's good to go. So let's get out there."

"Ladies and gentlemen," Chase said, "may I introduce to you, the prince and princess of Zandar."

Koda saluted the two and the rest of them clapped, as Shelby took Tyler's arm, the two of them getting into character.

After putting the final touches on their plan, the Rangers were ready to put their plan into action. It was noon now, and several reporters, paparazzi, and different media outlets had gathered outside the museum for the arrival of the prince and princess of Zandar. For the sake of the plan, each of them had diguises so they wouldn't be recognized and assumed their positions.

"Anything?" Riley asked his teammates over his ear piece that was connected to his Dino Comm. He was dressed in a sleek black suit, with a white dress shirt and black tie, wearing black sunglasses. His role was to act as the prince and princess's security detail.

"All clear," Chase said from his end into his Dino Comm. He was dressed as a paparazzi member, complete with a fake beard.

"No Fury," Koda relayed, from up a tree in the area. He was their lookout.

"Coast is clear on our end," Shelby said from the limo. "Ms. Morgan will be driving up any second."

"Prince of Zandar, huh? I've never even heard of Zandar," a paparazzi member said, looking at one of the museum's fliers. "Apparently, it's a country in Europe."

Soon, a limo pulled up. Kendall came out of the driver's side, dressed as a chauffeur, before crossing to the other side of the limo and opening the door for Tyler and Shelby.

"There he is!" a woman squealed as Tyler stepped out first, waving to the crowd as he did so, the cameras immediately starting to go off. He then offered a hand to Shelby, who took, and he helped her step out of the limo herself. The two then began to walk down the red carpet.

Shelby blushed when she heard someone say, "She is so beautiful!"

"Maybe, I should take your arm?" Shelby suggested, whispering to Tyler.

"Uh, okay," Tyler said, nervously, as he let her take his arm. The cameras continued to snap pictures.

Shelby was nervous, there was no way to deny that.

But she eased up when a waving Tyler calmly whispered, "Smile, Shelbs, and everything'll be okay. I'm right here."

Her smile got wider and she began to follow Tyler's example, waving at the people, even if she was still shy. She decided that it was part of her character, and continue to play that card.

As she Shelby did so, a voice yelled out, "Can we get a kiss?"

Shelby was happy to oblige as she placed a quick kiss on Tyler's cheek. Tyler was caught off guard but tried his best to hide his smile from Shelby. The two of them were both flustered, and Shelby whispered to the only Ranger with a camera, "Chase, if you got a picture of that, I'm going to kill you."

Chase only chuckled, making it clear that he did get a photo of that kiss. He didn't have to be an expert in, or like, romance to know that what Shelby felt for Tyler was clearly mutual on Tyler's side too.

Speaking of whom, Tyler and Shelby were approaching the podium, and they were getting nervous.

"What do we do now?" Tyler asked Shelby.

"I don't know, Fury should've shown up by now," Shelby whisperd back through her smile, before pushing Tyler towards the podium. "Use Riley's story."

Tyler looked at the painting of Sir Ivan protecting the young prince from a strange looking monster behind him, trying to figure out what to say. He turned around, breifly coughing, as he decided to take Shelby's advice and use what Riley told them last night, "T'was 800 years ago, when the knight, Sir Ivan saved Prince Colin, my ancestor, from an evil, hideous, vile beast..."

Suddenly, as if on cue, Fury burst through the painting, roaring, "Surprise!" He knocked Tyler back, demanding, "Give me the Energem!" He cut Shelby's necklace off her neck with a simple swipe of his sword, causing her to stumble back. Fortunately, she was caught by Tyler, who immediately moved back, creating distance from Fury. "With the Zord and now this Energem, you Rangers are finished!"

He then use his sword to create a cloud of lightning. When it disappeared, they realized that it was Fury's method of teleportation, much like Curio's cloud of stars.

The area had been cleared, due to everyone else running as far away as they could. Tyler brought out his Dino Comm, the others gathering around him, and he said, "Ms. Morgan! He's taken it!"

"I know," Kendall told them, from the base. "The GPS is still active. He's...in the mountains for some reason. At Seaside Quarry."

"It must be a temporary base for his operations," Shelby deduced.

"Maybe," Kendall cut in, "but it's the exact same location that Callie's Dino Comm signal happens to be in. I picked it up, just now."

Tyler smiled, "Mission accomplished. Let's go, guys."

"Good luck," Kendall said, before she hung up.

Unknown Location/Seaside Quarry, Amber Beach, California

Callie woke up to Fury stomping through the cave, his heavy footsteps getting louder and louder until he burst into the section Callie was in.

"Ha! I told you, puny human, that I would be victorious!" Fury boasted, showing her the Gold Energem. "Your so-called friends made a mistake! They revealed the location of this Energem by accident, and now they're done for! And now, you are going to tell me how to build another Energem tracker, so Sledge can find the rest!"

But he immediately paused when he saw her wearing a confident smirk.

"Why are you smiling, human?!" he demanded.

"Because this is irony at its finest," she calmly explained. "Ye said once that I'm an idiot, when ye're the one who can't tell whether an Energem is real or made out of saltdough."

Fury quickly took a second glance at the Energem in his hand, "What?! It's fake?! Why should I believe you?!"

Callie still remained unfazed, "Maybe because I'm the one who made it? Yes, it's a fake, ye gobshite."

Fury clenched his fists in anger and he threw the fake Energem down on the ground in anger, causing it to break into pieces, "I don't know what that word means, human, and I will destroy you, but before I do, I must take care of your Ranger friends first!"

Callie watched with mixed emotions as he raced out of the cave, leaving her alone.

On one hand, she was hopeful, because the fake Energem was clearly an attempt on the Rangers' part to rescue.

On the other, she was worried, because she may have screwed that plan up by telling Fury the Energem was fake.

City Plaza, Amber Beach, California

Kendall quickly called them back over the Dino Comm, when she saw movement in Fury's position, rather quick movement, "He's headed back for the city."

Tyler, Chase, and Koda were already there and fully morphed by the time she said this, "Don't worry, Ms. Morgan. We're on it." They had anticipated Callie telling Fury the Energem was fake. In fact, they were counting on it, because they were taking a page from Callie's book and reading the emotions and reactions of the person they were trying to manipulate.

The Rangers made Fury believe he had gotten the real Gold Energem, and like they planned, he had gone straight to Callie to rub it in her face (it seemed; nonetheless, they had Callie's location now). Callie would tell Fury that it was actually a fake, causing Fury to return to the city in order to get his revenge on the Rangers. While Tyler, Chase, and Koda kept Fury busy, Riley and Shelby would then sneak into Fury's temporary base and rescue Callie.

At least, that was the outcome they were hoping. Right now, they were in the hardest phase of them all: the last one, keeping Fury occupied. The trio needed to keep Fury busy long enough for Riley and Shelby to succeed, and who knows how long that would take?

Koda suddenly shushed the two when he heard a loud screeching, "Sounds like big eagle..." The three then looked at the sky, as the screeching only got louder.

"That's no eagle, Koda," Kendall told them over the Dino Comm. "Fury's summoned the Ptera Zord."

As if on cue, the said mechanical dinosaur appeared and started blasting the city.

"We need some fire power," Chase suggested. Koda nodded in agreement, and the two stepped up.

"Summon Zords!"

"Para Charger, Engage!"

"Stego Charger, Engage!"

The duo's respective Zords went toe-to-toe with the Ptera Zord, which starting shooting at Stego, immediately attacking them with a lightning strike. The Para Zord used its tail to fire multiple shots at the flying zord in order to protect the Stego Zord from further damage.

"Thank you, hotshot," Koda said.

"Don't thank me yet," was the Kiwi's reply. "It's coming back."

"You Rangers will pay for making me look like a fool!" Fury yelled from within the Ptera Zord, which flew back around and charged at the other two Zords, this time transforming into its own Megazord. "Joke's on you now, Rangers! I have my own Megazord, and I will use it to destroy you!"

He was at the controls, and as long as it remained that way, he was unstoppable.

"It changed..." Tyler said in awe.

"Ptera Charge Megazord," Koda breathed. "It look very powerful."

"Deal with this, Rangers!" Fury roared, as he motioned the Ptera Charge Megazord to blast the city.

"We destroying the entire city!" Chase cried out.

"Not if we can help it," Tyler stepped. "Dino Charger, Ready! Summon T-Rex Zord!"

"T-Rex Charge, Engage!"

The mentioned Zord landed from out of the sky, ready to take on this opponent. "Time to team up, Rexy! Activate Dino Charge Megazord: ParaStego Formation!"

Once the Megazord was formed, the trio transported into the cockpit, with Tyler in the middle, Chase on his right, and Koda on his left, exactly how the Zords were currently arranged.

"I don't like fighting an ally," Tyler said, reluctant to do this. Even if the Zord was in Fury's possession, the Ptera Zord was still a Zord that belonged to the Dino Charge Rangers. It wasn't meant to do any sort of evil.

Kendall called them again, over the Comm, "Guys, none of us were expecting Fury to control an entire Megazord. It's dangerous, but you have to try the new Dino Drive Mode."

"Understood," Tyler said. "We're willing to take the risk."

And not just for Callie this time. This time, it was also for the sake of Shelby and Riley's half of their current phase.

"Right!" Koda nodded.

"Let's do this!" Chase said.

"Dino Chargers, Ready! Dino Drive: Activate!" On top of their colored spandex, the three each gained a silver chest piece.

"Wow, I feel charge of strength!" Koda exclaimed. "Kendall, you very smart."

Kendall laughed it off like she didn't deserve the compliment, "I just hope it gives you the boost you need."

"It will. Let's go!" Chase exclaimed, using the Para Zord to fire more shots at Fury.

Fury retaliated with a simple levitation and a lightning strike. With a kick to the chest, the Rangers stumbled back.

"Ptera Zord: Saber Slash!"

The Rangers blocked the attack with the Stego Sheild.

"Stego Punch!" At least, it got Fury off of them for a mere three seconds.

"Para Zord Blast!" Chase exclaimed, firing more shots at Fury, who easily blocked them all with the black cape the Ptera Charge Megazord had on.

"Ptera Zord: Saber Slash!" A direct hit to the chest.

"Damn! He's so strong!" Tyler exclaimed.

Fury landed in front of them, charging up for another energy strike. "I told you Rangers I would get your Energems someday. Today is that day!" Fury said.

"Our defenses are down," Chase informed. "We can't take another hit."

"We have to finish this now," Tyler decided, mentally apologizing to Shelby and Riley. "Koda, throw your shield at Fury!"

Koda obeyed, his full trust in Tyler's plan, "Stego Shield, Block!"

He did so just as Fury fired his lightning attack.

"Ptera Lightning Bolt!"

The Rangers struggled to hang on.

"Cannot hold on for much longer!" Koda exclaimed.

"Yes, you can, Koda!" Tyler fired back. "Just trust me!"

Kendall called them again, "Sensors indicate that Fury's Megazord is running on power."

"That's exactly what I was waiting for," Tyler exclaimed. "It's our only hope." It is what happened last time, against Puzzler, after all. He turned to Chase. "I need you now, hotshot!"

Fortunately, Chase got the hint, "Para Zord Blast!"

The shots fired finally caught Fury off guard, as he finally sustained some damage.

Eventually, Fury changed the Ptera Charge Megazord back into the Ptera Zord. "I'm almost out of energy! I'll return, Rangers, with a full Dino Charger, ready to finish you all!"

The trio watched Fury fly off in the Ptera Zord.

"Did we win?" Koda asked.

"No," Tyler replied.

"But we survive," Koda pointed out, confused.

"Surviving and winning are two completely different things," Tyler explained. "That cat has more lives. He'll be back before we know it."

"In the meantime," Chase cut in, "let's hope that we gave Riley and Shelby enough time to save Callie."

Original Kyoryuger Episode: Brave 9

Original PRDC Episode: The Royal Rangers

Note: Inner Monster Irony in this Chapter: N/A

The subplot with Julian will be moved to a later chapter, and it will still be Shelby focused, I promise, because in the context of the current arc, it doesn't really make sense. Also, Fury being demoted and forced to be humble will come back later. I have something in mind for that.

Just to make it clearer for those of you who didn't understand: Callie was captured by Fury due to her accidentally outing herself as a Ranger ally to him in 1x07 (Double Trouble). It's a case of 'Reality Ensues', and it's where I was leading the entire thing the whole time. Also, Callie's hearings aids picking up that high pitched sound will be important next chapter.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please review and tell me what you think!

A/N: Do review, please. If you guys have any ideas you want me to consider adding, please PM me. A preview for the next chapter:

Season 1, Episode 10: "Break Out"

"With their numbers dwindling, the remaining Rangers can't make any more mistakes. Easier said than done, because the real Prince of Zandar appears with a bone to pick with them stealing his identity."
