FIRE AND BLOOD
PETYR BAELISH – THE RED KEEP
"Lord Baelish come forward!" Pycel commands in a loud voice at court.
Baelish smiles on the inside as he humbly walks through the courtiers to the Iron Throne. All he had suffered and endured, bought him to this point. His only regret was that he was unable to win the heart of the woman he loves. A part of him held out hope to win Catelyn Stark from her husband. Baelish is an ambitious man and he has a plan to make Catelyn Stark nee' Tully a widow and become her husband.
The first part of his plan had come to fruition. He takes a knee as King Robert stands up, "Petyr Baelish…Lord of the Fingers…I name thee Master of Coin to the Crown. Rise."
He stands up from one knee, "I thank you your Grace for this opportunity. I shall not fail you." After court Baelish meets with Jon Arryn, who gives him the finance books for the realm. Before Robert's ascension to the throne, the treasury had seven million gold and two million in silver. After it had two million gold and one hundred thousand silver.
"What happened?" Baelish asks going over the ledger.
Jon sighs, "The King is not frugal. He throws a feast and a tourney for the name days of each member of the royal house. Whenever a foreign diplomat or noble visits he throws a feast."
"And the Queen? I see no expenses for her."
"She gets a monthly allowance from her father Lord Tywin Lannister."
"How much?"
"Ten thousand in gold, which she spends on servants, clothes, and food. I need you to come up with a budget and then find a way to make coin for the crown."
Baelish has several good ideas and after a long day he goes to his room in the palace. He lays on his pillow staring at the ceiling. His suspicions about the Queen and her children confirmed after seeing the Prince at court. They were not fathered by Robert. The final piece to his plan to bring down House Stark.
ELIA
Even though she did not completely understand her daughter's magic, Elia did her best to support her daughter. Elia and Dany's visions helped them to prepare for the future to win back the Iron Throne for House Targaryen. Though at times it seemed Dany was more powerful than her daughter. Elia's gifts are being able to see the future, influence the minds of others, and resistance to fire. Dany could resist fire, see the future in the flames, hear the thoughts of others, and she could perform blood magic.
Dany's first feet of magic came when she used it to heal Prince Doran of gout that began to inflict his body. Then she used blood magic to bring a woman and her still born baby back to life. "As powerful as I am Auntie. Aegon is more powerful than any Dragon Rider or Targaryen that has come before him." She said to Elia one day.
All she did, Elia did for House Targaryen and the memories of her dead husband and sister by choice. The children were getting older. Dany was now eight, her daughter Rhaenys is ten and six. Oberyn's brood was getting older as well. As such Rhaenys, Dany and their cousins attend meetings with the adults to help forward plans for House Targaryen's return to power.
"Let us begin." Prince Doran says starting the meeting in his solar.
"Petyr Baelish Master of Coin must die." Rhaenys says speaking up before anyone else can say something.
"Why?" Elia asks looking at her daughter.
"He is a threat to House Stark and his machinations will lead to a war between House Lannister and House Stark." Dany says speaking up.
"Machinations? That's a big word for you." Tyene says teasing.
Dany looks at her, "Shut up."
"Enough!" Oberyn commands. Rhaenys explains in more detail what she saw could happen.
Doran sighs, "We've been putting most of the treasury into strengthening our military."
Rhaenys interrupts him, "It won't cost us one gold Dragon. We send word to Aegon and he will handle it."
Dany grunts, "He probably already knows."
AEGON WINTERFELL
The time had come and everything is ready for Aegon to turn stone into gold. A deer had been hunted, killed, and bled dry of its blood. Then Aegon cuts his hand and adds some of his blood to it. Then he mixes it with water and pours it over the three piles of rocks. The rocks go from the size of a man's fist to his head. The piles are ten feet tall each in a three, sided pyramid. The base of the stone pyramid is twenty feet.
Aegon stands on a wooden scaffold overlooking the piles of rock. He and his uncle pour the blood over the three rock piles. Then he climbs down from the scaffold and dips his cut hand into the fire. Aegon closes his eyes pouring his mind and heart into what he wishes to do. Then the rock piles burst into a blue fire. As the fire burns the stones, it turns to gold. Aegon opens his eyes to look upon the stunned faces of his Uncle Ned, his aunt Catelyn, His Hand Jon Connington, and his cousin Robb. The gold is placed in a special vault that was built for Aegon.
After Aegon rests, he meets with his Uncle, Aunt, Cousin and Hand. "Let us begin. I am sorry Aunt Cat, but your friend Petyr Baelish must die."
"What?" She asks in shock. Baelish had sent her a letter telling her of his success and asking her if she needed anything to let her know.
"Baelish still has feelings for you."
"As a friend."
He shakes his head, "He wants you for his wife and will do anything to make that happen."
"How?" Eddard asks with an edge of anger in his voice, "She is my wife!"
"He used Lady Arryn's Arryn's obsession with him to become Master of Coin…Tonight your sister plans to collect on her favor by sleeping with Baelish…Her husband has gone hunting with the King. He will use the Queen's secret to start a war and he plans to use Lady Arryn to poison Lord Arryn."
"We have to stop him!" Ned says banging his fist on the desk.
"And we will." Aegon looks at Jon, "Jon as my hand I want you to travel to Braavos and hire the Faceless Men."
"With all due respect my King. Braavosi ships pass through White Harbor to either restock or drop off merchandise…I don't need to go all the way to Braavos."
"Well if you can make contact with the faceless men through a Braavosi Captain do so…but I still want you to head East to Braavos and find the Company of the Winter Rose. Tell them that the Prince has need of their services…Then travel to Astapor…I wish to buy the Unsullied…The Masters of Astapor are training four thousand men with another four in eight more years…I wish to buy these and the other four. These troops will make the core of the Dragon Army…House Targaryen will have its own army."
They discuss other matters and then Jon prepares to leave on his journey. A few weeks after enough gold has been melted down into coins Aegon travels as Jon Stark with his Uncle and Cousin to White Harbor. They give the gold to Lord Wyman Manderly to build a fleet of ships for the North.
JON CONNINGTON
Three days after arriving in White Harbor a merchant ship stops to pick up supplies on its way home to Braavos. Jon buys passage and sails to Braavos. "Valar Morghulis." He says to an elderly dark, skinned man.
The old man nods and smiles, "Valar Dohaeris."
"I wish to give a name to Red god."
"Speak the name."
"Petyr Baelish Master of Coin. He serves the Iron Throne."
"A man cannot give you this name."
"Why not?"
"Petyr Baelish has a paid for our protection…We cannot give him the gift."
Disappointed Jon sends a message to his King about Baelish through an agent. Then he finds the Company of the Winter Rose Led by Torrhen Snow. The Company of the Rose are descendants from a group of Northerners who left Westeros after King Torrhen Stark bent the knee. They swore only to return when the Prince that was Promised came forth.
Jon finds the Commander of the Company of the Winter Rose"My name is Jon COnnington."
"I know who you are. What do you want?".
"The Prince sent me…He has need of your services."
"What Prince?"
"The Prince that was Promised born of Fire and Ice…The Son of Prince Rhaegar and his second wife Lyanna of House Stark."
TORRHEN SNOW
The burly Northerner travels with four men to Westeros to see if the Prophecy has truly come to pass. Meanwhile Jon Connington heads for Astapor to purchase the Unsullied army. Torrhen is six and half feet tall, built like a wrestler and wields a broad sword. His hair is bright, brown, and he has blue eyes.
After a week at sea they arrive in White Harbor. When Torrhen leaves the ship he drops to his knees and kisses the ground. "Old gods I have returned to land of my ancestors." He says and then they immediately leave for Winterfell. As they travel a hawk follows them. AT the halfway point they are met by Lord Eddard Stark and his company of five men.
"Welcome home Lord Snow."
"Lord Stark…An honor to meet you. Your reputation is known to me."
"As is the reputation of the White Rose. Come my nephew awaits you at Winterfell."
To prove he is the Prince Aegon stands on a fire pyre and it is lit. His robe burns, but his body does not. When the flames die out Torrhen and his men drop to one knee. "The Prince that was Promised. My King." The next day Torrhen leaves to bring his men across the Narrow Sea. Meanwhile a man is sent to the Capital with a message for the Spider. Since the Faceless Men can't touch Baelish Aegon plans to use Blood Magic to kill him. All Aegon needs is a lock of Baelish's hair or a piece of cloth from his clothes.
BAELISH
It was so easy to manipulate Lysa Arryn. The sex with her is a bonus, but she is not the woman he wants. Baelish increases his power by learning the secrets of his clients through the whores that work for him. He owns the best brothels in Westeros and Essos. As he walks up the hallway a woman bumps into him. "Begging your pardon my Lord."
"Stupid…" He sighs, this woman is beneath him. "In the future watch where you are going."
"Yes My Lord."
Later he notices that his tunic had been torn. So he changes clothes before meeting with the small council. A month later Petyr is making his way to Lysa's Quarters, the King had gone hunting again. He stops in the hallway grabbing his heart with his left hand and leaning against the wall with his right. "This…c…an't…be…I…I…" He falls to his knees leaning against the wall and dies.
