LOVE AND FIRE
DAENARYS
Dany had seen many possible futures when it comes to man who would one day become her husband. The one person she was in love with now, is the one person she did not see in the flames. Dany and Rhaenys had waited at Castle Black for Aegon, Elia, Lord Stark, and Mormont to return. The plan is to travel with them to Winterfell and then to White Harbor.
The more time she spent with Aegon the more she came to love him. When he returned they speak a few times in private before leaving three days later. "Are you sure Uncle that you will not come with us?" Dany asks.
"I vowed a vow to the Watch. And because of you all House Targaryen has a future. Because of you all I can see and I grow stronger everyday." They hug him and leave.
Many of the Northern Lords leave the same time to return home. Daenarys travels with Aegon, Lord Stark, Elia, Rhaemys, Jon Connington, and Lord Wyman Manderly who travels by Wheelhouse because of his size. At noon they stop to eat midday meal, but do not make camp. "Where are we?" Rhaenys asks.
"Near Queen's Crown." Lord Stark replies looking around.
After they eat the company moves on. They stop to make camp two hours before sunset. Dany had just finished setting up her tent when Aegon walks up. "May I speak with you in private."
"Yes." She replies and they walk away from the others.
"I have something to tell you…I.." He takes her hands, "I was afraid to love you., because I cannot see pass us getting married. I cannot see our children and that frightens me…"
"You are afraid of another mad King."
He nods, "Yes. That is why I am hesitant."
"I wonder if that is the reason I cannot see us marry."
He sighs, "I have another confession…You couldn't see us because I was using my magic to block it."
"Why would you…" The hurt is in her voice and she turns away from him. "…How could you?"
"I was hoping you would choose one of the others you saw in your visions…But every time I look at those possible futures…I get jealous and angry…" He touches her shoulders as her back is still to him, but she shrugs him off. "I am sorry…and I want you to be my wife."
She looks at him, "Truly?"
"Truly."
They hug and share a kiss, then return to the camp. The next morning after breaking Camp Daenarys rides up to Rhaenys, "I spoke with Aegon…We are to marry when we come of age."
"Truly?"
"Yes truly." They hug, "I am happy for the both of you. Did he see something in the fire?"
"Yes and he was blocking our visions concerning us being together."
"What about the Tyrells?"
"If Aegon asked me, then I am sure he has a plan to deal with them." After eleven days of traveling they reach White Harbor.
AEGON
After saying goodbye to Dany and the others Aegon speaks with his Uncle in private. "I have asked Daenarys to marry me."
He doesn't say anything, but Aegon patiently waits for a response of some kind. "She is your Aunt." Ned finally replies. "Besides Princess Elia already promised House Tyrell."
"She may have promised, but I did not. And I have no intention of marrying into the family of the man who caused my father his life and the war."
VISERYS
He had traveled from city to city, trying to convince the Nobles of each to support his claim to the Iron Throne. Because of Viserys' family name some of the Nobles he encounters have him a guest in their house. They use him to increase their own social standing and make promises, but eventually Viserys shows his true colors and he is thrown into the streets.
As time passes his reputation spreads and he becomes known as the Beggar King. Eventually Viserys ends up on the streets of Meereen begging for food. He is lying in an alley trying to escape the sun when he hears footsteps. "Oh how the mighty have fallen." A male voice says.
He looks up, "Who are you?"
"My name is Nyre…I am a Priest of the Lord of Light."
"Ah yes one of those fanatics."
"Fate smiles on you Viserys Targaryen…R'hllor has use of you. Come with me."
Nyre takes Viserys to the new temple. He is given a bath, new clothes, and food to eat. As Viserys eats Nyre sits by watching him. "What do you want?"
"I have everything I want and need…What do you want?"
"For you to leave me in peace." Nyre stands up and leaves the dining hall. A few days later Nyre comes to Viserys' room. "What do you want now?"
"I'm surprised you haven't left yet."
"I'm making plans."
"To do what? You were not meant to rule…Your destiny lies elsewhere."
"I was born of royalty! What do you know of my destiny?"
"Born a Prince. Now a Pauper. Come with me I wish to show you something."
"There is nothing you have that I want to see." Nyre stands there staring at Viserys and after a few minutes he follows Nyre. He takes him to a room with a large fire burning, in a fire bowl.
"Look into the fire and tell me what you see."
He rolls his eyes, "I see fire."
"Keep looking."
The fire starts to wave and flicker, then Viserys starts to see places and people in the flames. Suddenly he sees himself and then the wall. "This is a trick."
"No trick…I told you. R'hllor has need of you." Then Nyre waves his hand at the flames.
Now Viserys sees himself and his sister. She is marrying a Dothraki Lord. The image changes and he is at a feast of some kind holding a sword. He points the sword at his sister. Then the Dothraki Lord stands up and joins Dany. He rubs her swollen stomach and nods. His men grab Viserys and he falls to his knees as Viserys watches himself die.
He looks at Nyre with teary eyes, "Why did you show me this?"
"No one knows what they will see when they look into the fire, but what you saw…was things that may happen or will happen."
Viserys stays with the Red Priests and Priestesses of R'hllor, learning their faith of one god. The days turn to weeks, the weeks months, and the months years. After two years Viserys accepts the faith of R'hllor. "There are those who teach that our faith is the only true faith and all other gods are false. Those who do not accept our faith must be purged by fire. This is not so…We do not force our beliefs on anyone."
"They must come to believe of their own free will as I have."
"Yes."
"If this is so…What are the other gods…What of the beliefs of others?"
"We respect the beliefs of others, but the seven, the drowned god, the old gods, will fade into nothing. R'hllor is the future." When Viserys reaches a point in his training he is given a red jeweled amulet called the heart of R'hllor. The men wear it on a chain around their necks that go down their chests. The woman wear the jewel in choke collars.
"From this moment on you will receive training in the deep arts of our faith." Nyre says to Viserys.
"I am eager to learn. For the first time in my life I feel at piece."
