OLD VALYRIA
AEGON
After the tourney Jon boards the Northern ship Sea Wolf, to sail to Dorne. Waiting aboard ship is Lady Brienne of Tarth and her father Lord Selwyn Tarth. Jon smiles because he is able to drop the name Jon and take on the name his mother gave him; Aegon Targaryen. He speaks with Selwyn and Brienne before heading to his cabin to get settled. As the ship heads for open water, Aegon returns to the main deck where Brienne and her father are waiting.
"Lady Brienne, please take a knee." She obeys with a single tear going down her cheek. "Lady Brienne of Tarth. You performed admirably in the Tourney. Your skill has not gone unnoticed and if things had been different, you and I would have faced each other in the last match. That being said, I Aegon the Seventh of his name…Son of Prince Rhaegar and Lyanna Targaryen nee' Stark; by the blessing of Princess Elia Targaryen nee' Martell. The Prince that was Promised, the true King of the Andels and the first men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm. Knight thee Ser Brienne of Tarth and a member of my King's Guard."
He taps her on the left and right shoulder. "I Lady Brienne of Tarth do swear an oath before these witnesses and the gods old and new. That I will keep your council, watch your back, and if needs be give my life for yours. My sword is yours to command from this day forth until my last, you Aegon Targaryen are my King."
Everyone on deck claps and cheers, "Arise Ser Brienne."
"I am so proud of you." Lord Selwyn says hugging his daughter.
They feast that knight in Brienne's honor. The next morning after breaking their fast Aegon speaks in private with Brienne. "As the first of My King's Guard you should know what is going on. We are sailing first to Dorne to pick up my Aunt, my sister, my second mother, my Uncle, and a few cousins. Then we are heading to Old Valyria."
"If you were going into the seven hells, my place is at your side my King."
He smiles and nods in approval, "When we arrive in Old Valyria my Aunt Daenarys, my sister Rhaenys, and I will go ashore alone and before you protest hear me. There is something we must do before you and the others join us. The stone men that live there are under a curse and I intend to heal them from their Grey scale."
He can tell she has questions, but Brienne doesn't ask them, "Also my supporters include; Houses Martell of course, Stark, the Stepstone Lords, and most of the crownland Lords. As we speak my Aunt Catelyn and Uncle Eddard are traveling home to Winterfell. Along the way they will stop at Riverrun and get the support of House Tully. My Aunt Elia promised House Tyrell my hand to Lady Margaery. I am not bound by that promise as I am in love with my Aunt Daenarys and we intend to marry. Queen Cersei's children were fathered by Ser Jaime. I mean them no harm and a plan is in place to see to their safety when the time comes. But Cersei must answer for the crime of trying to sell Lady Lysa Arryn into slavery.
Lord Tywin must answer for sacking King's Landing during the Rebellion. I intend to strike after my seven and tenth name day. My Hand Jon Connington is on his way to Astapor to buy, the Unsullied. Do you have any questions or advise for me."
"Many but the most important my King is about Ser Jaime Lannister. He murdered your Grandfather. Will there be justice?"
"Do you know what they called my Grandfather?"
"Yes."
"My Grandfather was the Mad King and he had his pyromancers make tons of Wild Fire and hide them in the Catacombs beneath the city. He believed that a sacrifice of Fire and Blood of that magnitude would turn him into a Dragon. Jaime Lannister is a hero and I intend to treat him as such."
"As you command."
"Do you have any advise for me or do you disagree with any of my plans?"
"There is one suggestion your grace. You should appoint a Master of Justice for the smallfolk. I have heard many stories of Smallfolk taken advantage of by their Lords and Knights. They have no one to turn to for justice."
"A marvelous idea Lady Brienne…It shall be my first decree." After speaking with Brienne Aegon speaks with Lord Selwyn, who pledges his support. The trip to Dorne takes two weeks and when they arrive a fleet of Dornish ships is waiting and on the pier are Elia, Rhaenys, Daenarys, Oberyn, Obara, and Tyene. They board a long boat and row to Aegon's ship.
"Mother." He says hugging her. He greets the others and saves Dany for last. "I've missed you."
"And I you."
"I got this for you." A servant hands Aegon a crown of winter roses, "Your champion presents m'lady with a crown of flowers and names her the most beautiful woman in the world." They share a kiss and then the Dornish party gets settled. "Captain signal the fleet, we leave now."
"Yes My King." That night Aegon dresses in black and red, the colors of House Targaryen. Then he regales everyone with stories of the Tourney. They laugh, talk, and sing. The voyage is long, allowing Aegon and Dany to spend quality time together. Aegon makes time for Rhaenys his mother, and cousins as well.
"So Ray are there any young men I need to vent."
"She has eyes for Ser Ryon Allyrion of Godsgrace." Obara says teasing.
"Ser Ryon Allyrion…He rode in the Tourney a good man…I approve."
"I didn't know I needed your approval brother."
He smiles, "You did."
They joke, they jest, they play word games, Cevass, and spar to pass the time away at sea. The ships are well stocked, in fact three ships are filled to the brim with supplies to be shared by the whole fleet. Two miles from broken continent of Old Valyria Aegon wargs into his pet eagle Orion. "What is he doing?" Brienne asks. This is her first time seeing the King warg.
"My brother is a Warg Lady Brienne…His mind can leave his body and enter that of an animal's. He can see through Orion's eyes."
Brienne walks up to him and waves her hand before his white eyes. "Can he hear us?"
Aegon smiles, "I can hear you Lady Brienne." He replies searching the broken land mass that is now several Islands. He searches the largest one noting where the Stonemen are and what they are doing. Aegon returns to his body, "Dany, Ray, and I are going ashore first." Before Lady Brienne can protest Aegon touches her shoulder, "Before you protest Lady Brienne…We go ashore because we must and you will not survive what will happen, but we will."
An hour later, the three Targaryens go ashore in a rowboat paddled by four men. When they reach the shore Viserys is waiting wearing the robes of a Priest of R'hlor. "Viz?" Daenarys asks barely recognizing him.
"It is me little sister." They embrace one another.
"It is good to see you Uncle." Aegon says.
"I foresaw you coming here and decided to meet you all."
Viserys helps Aegon carry a bucket of wood inland and then they wait for the row boat to get out of range. Aegon pours oil over the wood, they light it, and cut their hands dripping their blood into the fire. They hold hands and chant in Old Valyria. The fire belches and streams up in a ball of fire. The ball of fire expands across the broken islands of the Continent. The fire burns their clothes away and curse of Grey Scale on the Stonemen. From all over the large island the stonemen come and bend the knee to Aegon.
"Who are you?" A man asks.
"My name is Aegon Targaryen. I am the rightful King of the Andels, the first men of Westeros."
"And you are our King and we will be whatever you need us to be."
A signal is sent to the fleet and the men come ashore with food and clothes for the former stonemen. Ships are sent to sail between the Islands collecting the rest who insist on meeting Aegon. They all pledge themselves to him out of gratitude. Some are warriors, others are former slaves, servants, and cooks; there are three thousand in all. After everyone is clothed and fed, Aegon asks Oberyn to sort them out into groups to serve House Targaryen.
While Oberyn handles that, Aegon makes his way to the ruins of the Old City. "This is it. The armory." Using his blood Aegon opens the door. Inside are weapons of all kinds made of Valyrian steel. There are also Valyrian steel ingots for making weapons and molds. The weapons are loaded onto wagons, pulled by horses. It is Rhaenys who finds the treasury room, filled with bars of gold, silver, jewels of every kind. There are also scrolls and books in the treasure chamber.
While the bounty is being loaded onto wagons and taken to the beach, Aegon, Rhaenys, Daenarys, Viserys, Brienne, and several others leave the city and head for the old Dragonpit. "What is this place?" Brienne asks.
"A Dragonpit for the Dragons of the Riders." They find six Dragon eggs buried under the hardened molten rock. "Brienne bring the horse." Aegon commands. He takes three eggs, black, red, and green. Then he cuts his hand and slathers the blood over them. Then he slits the horse's neck and places the eggs on the dying horse's body. They place wood around the horse and set it all on fire.
All night the fire burns and burns so bright and hot. As the sun rises the fire dies out and all that is left is a pile of ashes. Aegon smiles as the three Dragons emerge from the ashes. The black Dragon crawls out of the ash and towards Aegon. "You shall be Rhaexor after my father."
The green Dragon crawls to Rhaenys, "Jaehak for my brother." She says.
"Rhael for my mother." Dany says holding the Red Dragon in her arms.
"What of the other three eggs?" Viserys asks.
"To be kept for our descendants. Those who are worthy of them." It takes three weeks to load the cargo onto the ships. Extra ships are sent for from Dorne, the Reach, and the Stepstones to carry the cargo and the people Aegon uncursed. Once the ships are loaded they fleet sets sail.
