Chapter 24: Save Our Planet!

One Saturday morning, the team sans Emma were enjoying a day in the park. The Armada had been exceedingly quiet recently, not that they were complaining. It was rare that they got a moment of quiet, and they intended to enjoy it for as long as it lasted.

"Hey, why couldn't Emma join us? She never misses a chance to enjoy nature."

"She said she had something else going on, but she'd join us later."

"That sucks. Its not the same without her."

"That's true-hey, what's all this?"

The gang suddenly found themselves among a rally of some sort. A couple of people ran through the crowd, handing out flyers and pamphlets while chanting "Save the planet!"

"Woah."

"No kidding."

"Do you guys think this is what Emma was up to?"

As if the universe itself was answering Gia's question, the pink ranger ran up to them, smile as wide as usual.

"Hey guys, what do you think?"

"This is why you couldn't hang out? Impressive!"

"I'll say. You've got T-Shirts and everything!"

"Thanks guys. I've been working hard on this all month, what with this being the first project they're letting me be in charge of and all."

Everyone's eyes went wide with shock.

"Really? They're finally letting you take charge?"

"I know, right? Those pictures I took of that waste site really got the word out, so they're letting me take charge of something bigger. Next Saturday, we're organizing a huge beach cleanup. The local beach is a mess, and the plastic can cause real harm to the sea animals. Can I count on you guys to show up?"

"Of course!"

"Anything to help a friend!"

"Sign me up."

Jake rubbed his head, taking a deep breath.

"Gee, I don't know. I've got practice, and with school starting up again..."

"Please, Jake? I really want to make a great first impression?"

Emma gave him the biggest Puppy Dog eyes she could muster before before Jake cracked a smile.

"Ah, what the heck, I'm in!"

Emma squealed happily before giving everyone a big hug.

"Thanks, guys! I could really use the support."

"Don't mention it. After all, as Power Rangers it our job to protect the planet."

"Right. Some days its fighting giant bugs, sometimes its fighting the dreaded plastic monster!"

Everyone laughed at Jake's over the top movements as he mimicked said creature. This was going to be fun!

Up above Earth's atmosphere, the Armada was still reeling from the missile attack. While the mother ship and most of its fleet had been repaired, a good portion of it had to be scrapped in order to keep them afloat. The crew was starting to get restless. Just then, Prince Vekar stormed onto the bridge, ecstatic over his brilliant new plan.

"Have no worries, my underlings! I have come up with the most brilliant plan ever!"

"Terrific, sire. What is it?"

"I'm glad you asked. You see, I've been observing the Earthlings, and I've discovered the best way to rid ourselves of them: Allow them to destroy themselves!"

He then marched over to the main console and pushed a few buttons, pulling up a screen showing multiple examples of pollution.

"These humans are so obsessed with progress and power, they've foolishly neglected their natural environment, allowing their toxic waste to pollute and destroy it faster than we could ever hope to. So, if they wish to be their undoing, I propose we help them! Bigs, Bluefur!"

Stomping onto the bridge were two unique aliens. The first looked like a mutated slug, while his companion looked like Bigfoot himself. Levira hummed, impressed.

"The famous Pollution Brothers. Interesting."

"Indeed. Their toxic influence has paved the way for many of our conquests in the past, so don't screw it up!"

"Fear not, Prince Vekar! Those puny humans won't stand a chance once we land on Earth!"

"Yes, and those Power Rangers will fall faster than The Goseiger Galaxy!"

With that, the two teleported down to the planet, leaving Vekar cackling in excitement.

"Get ready folks, because its showtime!"
