SHANG TSUNG

OUTWORLD – THE FORTRESS OF SHANG TSUNG

Outworld is a savage realm inhabited by the Shokan, The Osh-Tekk, the Centaurians, the Tarkatans, and Numans(a human like race). Of the races of Outworld the Shokan and the Tarkatans are the most feared. The Emperor depends on these two races the most as they bring him the most souls to consume. The Emperor's most powerful servants include Shang Tsung, Skarlet, Mileena, Reiko and Goro.

"The time has come…Reptile go forth and summon our warriors for Mortal Kombat!" He salutes and leaves. As Reptile is leaving Mileena enters the throne room. "Princess Mileena…To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?" Jade is nearby listening.

Mileena is a hybrid clone of Princess Kitana. Using her blood and that of a Tarkatan female Shang Tsung created a perfect weapon and daughter for the Emperor. "Quan Chi wishes an audience with you."

"By all means show him in." Like Shang Tsung Quan Chi is a sorcerer, but not of Outworld. Quan serves the Lord of the Netherrealm. He has snow white skin, black eyes, and wears fearsome spiked armor. "Quan Chi."

"Shang Tsung."

"To what do I owe the honor?"

He is not alone, a yellow garbed Ninja Specter is with him, "This is Scorpion…If you will allow him to fight on behalf of Outworld and face the Lin Kuei Ninja Bihan…and withdraw from the Tournament after he wins I will give you a thousand souls of the Netherrealm."

"A thousand souls? What makes you think he will win?"

"Scorpion is the greatest warrior in the Netherrealm…One hundred thousand warriors have fallen to his blade, his spear caster, and his specter fire."

"Very well I will allow it."

"One more thing Shang Tsung."

"What?"

"I require Sub Zero's soul and body."

"We have a deal."

REPTILE

A mile from Shang Tsung's fortress and the flesh pits is the living forest. Few residents of Out World can venture through the living forest of man eating trees and live. Reptile is one of them. Reptile was taken from his home realm of Zeterra while he was still in his egg. Shang Tsung has lied to him making him believe that he is the last of his kind and is originally from Out World.

After leaving the Living Forest Reptile enters the Black Mountains. A few Numans live in the mountains which offer protection from the more aggressive races of Out World. After leaving the Mountains Reptile enters the Great Desert where the Tarkatans live. As a servant of Shang Tsung's the Tarkatans would not dare attack him or deny Reptile entrance to their city.

As he walks through the city he notices that there are few Tarkatans in the streets. So he heads for the Arena of Blood. The Tarkatans make a path for Reptile as he makes his way to the arena. In the arena Baraka the leader of the Tarkatan race is fighting five other Tarkatans. Tarkatans have huge teeth, spikes growing out of their arms, pointed ears and skin that ranges from pale yellow to grey. Baraka's skin is pale bright yellow. He wears a white and red vest like shirt and pants.

Reptile watches as Baraka impales one Tarkatan fighter on his blades and spins into another slashing his neck. "FINISH THEM! FINISH THEM! FINISH THEM!" The onlookers chant. He shoots a blade from his arm at one of the Tarkatans. He finishes off the fourth Tarkatan by bighting his throat out and the last he dices into eight parge pieces with his blades.

"Reptile…Shang Tsung's pet lizard. What do you want lizard?"

"Call me lizard again…And I will melt you with my acid spit. The time has come Shang Tsung gathers the chosen."

JADE

Ebony of skin, curvy and beautiful, Jade is a former warrior of Edenia. She was shown mercy in the Edenian tournament by Reptile. Queen Sindel suggested her as a bodyguard for Princess Kitana. Now she is a bodyguard for the creature Mileena. After hearing Shang Tsung give a mission to Reptile, she leaves for the great grass plains of the Osh-Tekk.

She arrives at night and sneaks into the camp as the Osh-Tekk are nomads. From shadow to shadow she sneaks until she comes to the tent of Kotal; her lover and ally. As Jade sneaks into the tent a blade is placed at her throat, "I know your aura, your smell, your presence from a mile away."

"Is this the blade you wish to use on me my love."

He withdraws the dagger, "The blade I wish to use will only give us pleasure."

"I come to tell you Shang Tsung has called the chosen…It is time."

YAMATO

His name is Yamato Kin, but prefers the name Sektor. He is a red ninja of the Lin Kuei. After Bihan and the other ninjas left to train in Mortal Kombat. Sektor killed the Grandmaster and took over the Lin Kuei. Using ancient magic he enters Out World and Shang Tsung's fortress. Shang Shung is in the flesh pits performing his sick twisted experiments.

"I'm impressed human…You sneak into my fortress…pass my guards and into my flesh pits." The floor and walls are covered in bio-metal. There are huge tubes with clear green liquid in them. In the liquid are floating hybrids of Tarkatan and Shokan, Centaurian and Shokan; on and on it goes.

"My name is Sektor and I am the new Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. I have come oh mighty Shang Tsung to pledge myself to your cause…All I ask in return is that you give me the bodies of the Lin Kuei who fall in the Tournament, give me their dead bodies with their souls still trapped within."

Shang Tsung turns to face him, "You intrigue me human…Very well I agree, but I have already promised the soul and body of Bihan to another."

"Who?"

"Quan Chi the sorcerer of the Netherrealm. His warrior Scorpion fights this Bihan."

"Then I will challenge this Scorpion to mortal kombat."

"The laws of Mortal Kombat are absolute…You have sworn to fight for Out World…Scorpion is sworn to fight for Out World…If you fight one another then Earth Realm will be free of Kombat for ten generations…I cannot allow this."

"I know of another human of great skill…Grant him the power of the Jinsei force and he will fight for you."

SHANG SUNG

Six days later the Out world's chosen ones stand in Shang Tsung's throne room. "He's late." Mileena says to Shang Tsung.

"He likes to make an entrance. Prince Goro will be here."

Already assembled in the throne room are Scorpion, Reptile, Mileena, Jade, Baraka, Reiko, Skarlet, Kotal, and Sektor. It starts out as a whisper, then a roaring chant of his name. "GORO! GORO! GORO! GORO! GORO!" Shang Tsung feels a tinge of jealousy. When he was Champion his name was cheered and chanted but he did not receive the accolades Goro did. The doors open and in walks the Champion of Mortal Kombat Prince Goro, General of the armies of Out World and Ruler of the Subterranean domain of Skokan. He has the medallion of the Champion around his neck. His seven Shokan wives are with him and the Shokan honor guard.

"Welcome Prince Goro."

He bows out of respect to Shang Tsung who was a former Champion himself. Goro arrogantly looks at the chosen. "We seem to be missing a chosen one oh mighty Shang Tsung."

"He will be here shortly…I will collect him myself."
