THE CHOSEN ONE AND THE PRINCESS

LUI KANG

Lui Kang to his own surprise found friendship in Johnny Cage. He is very skilled and powerful with his Jinsei. Sometimes they spar together and have a mutual respect for one another. Then there is Sonya Blade who had finally activated her Jinsei. Now all the Champions fight with their jinsei powers. Lui is training with Kitana and after they are done he asks her a question. "Princess Kitana…You are a Princess of what?"

"I was a Princess of the Realm Edenia. Then Shao Khan challenged our realm to Mortal Kombat and we lost ten tournaments…Shang Tsung was champion of Outworld back then. Edenia was merged with Outworld and I was adopted by the Emperor. Now I am Princess of Outworld."

"How did you end up here training warriors against Outworld."

"I use to fight for the Emperor and Outworld. During the seventh tournament of Outworld and Earthrealm…I faced the Great Kung Lao…He showed me mercy and that act of kindness awakened me from a spell I was under…I remembered who I really was and how my mother Queen Sindel died. I left Outworld and started helping Lord Raiden train Champions for Earth."

"How did your mother die?"

She smiles from beneath her mask. "Another story for another time."

Later Lui goes to the main hall for evening meal. Jax is there sitting alone away from the others. He is upset about his arms and refuses to speak with Sonya. He sighs and walks over to him, "May I sit?"

"No! Go away!"

"You are angry because of your arms?"

"Look man…I said go away!"

"As you wish."

"He blames me." Sonya says as Lui sits down. "Thank you for trying Lui."

"You are welcome." He looks at Johnny and Sonya sitting side by side. "The two of you are couple now?"

"You could say that."

"Will you marry?" Shojinko asks.

"What about you and Kitana?" Johnny says changing the conversation. "I see the way you look at her."

Lui smiles and after eating he heads to the yard to train before going to bed. The next morning finds Lui sparring with Shujinko. They use hands, feet, weapons, and Jinsei, but because of his abilities, not even Lui Kang can best Shujinko. "Well done Shujinko…Well done Lui Kang." Bo Rai Cho says.

"I lost Master."

He nods, "Sometimes Lui Kang you have to lose in order to win…Do you understand?"

"Yes Master I think so."

"Next! Johnny Cage and Sub Zero!"

Shujinko stays to watch, but Lui Kang leaves to meditate. When he arrives at the meditation room Kitana is there. He watches her for a while. Her hair is free of the braid and her mask is off. "You may join me if you wish Lui Kang." She says without opening her eyes. He does and as time passes, both Lui and Kitana start glowing. Then they both see visions of moments from their lives. Lui Kang sees all the times she killed for the Emperor. Then he sees the Great Kung Lao and the mercy he showed her.

KITANA

Kitana breaks meditation and looks at Lui Kang. "What was that?" He asks.

She does not answer, but stands up looking at him the whole time and then leaves. She walks through the temple and ends up at Raiden's Sanctum. There is a door, but mortals are not allowed to enter. "Raiden…I need to speak with you."

The door doesn't open, he walks through it phasing like a ghost. "Princess Kitana what may I do for you?"

"I was in meditation when Lui Kang joined me. As we mediated our souls became one. I saw visions of his life and he saw ones of mine."

"May I?" He asks reaching his hand out. She consents and he touches her forehead. His eyes flash with lightning as he reads her thoughts. "While on the Astral Plain Your soul touched Lui Kang's soul."

"How is that possible…I am over ten thousand years old?"

"On the Astral plain time does not matter and all souls exist their until it is time to take on flesh…You and Lui Kang are connected. Your destinies intertwined…It happens that is why certain people fall in love at first sight. As you are in love with Lui Kang."

"I that is…It can't be true."

"Deny it all you want Princess…It is true."

For the next few days she tries to ignore Lui Kang, but it is hard. Then one day she goes to his room and knocks. "Princess…I…"

"May I come in Lui Kang?"

"Yes please."

She sighs, "When we meditated together. I felt a connection to you."

"And I you."

"I sought Raiden's wisdom and he told me that our destinies are intertwined…"

He interrupts her by kissing her, "I love you."

"And I love you."

THE NINJAS

BIHAN

Bihan discovers his jinsei power after Johnny Cage. He has the power to summon and manipulate ice. So he takes on the name Sub-Zero. He and his fellow Lin Kuei do not interact with the others. Sub Zero as he now calls himself can manipulate ice and create it. His fighting skills greater than his fellow Lin Kuei.

"Sub Zero a moment of your time." Raiden says.

"Lord Raiden."

"Bo Rai Cho's allies in Out World have learned that the ninja Yamato of your clan fights for Out World…He has killed your Grandmaster and taken his place."

"My brother?"

"Escaped he is safe."

Sub Zero tells Smoke and Cyrax as they now call themselves. "We should go and find Kuai Liang." Smoke says.

"No for now my brother must look after himself. If any of us face Yomato show him no mercy."
