ROUND TWO

SHANG SUNG

The Emperor wants an update on the tournament, so Shang Tsung makes his way to his private study. There is an infinity mirror in the study so that he can speak with the Emperor at any time. There is a desk, a red and gold carpet with the Mortal Kombat sigil on it. The mirror rises up out of the floor and Shao Khan's image appears in the mirror.

"How goes the tournament?"

Shang Tsung is nervous about what he should tell the Emperor. "It goes well my Emperor…We are winning. Soon you will have your prize."

"And the other project?"

"We will know the location of Sindel's tomb soon enough." His image vanishes and the mirror lowers back into the floor.

SONYA BLADE

Sonya kisses Johnny before following the acolyte to her match with Kotal. "This Kotal guy is strong, be careful."

"I will." She follows the acolyte to the spiked pit beneath the bridge and is joined by Kotal. She runs at him and leaps into a flying kick. Kotal sticks his hand out grabbing her leg and swings her over his head. Sonya sticks her hands out and grabs the sides of the spike she is about to hit stopping herself. "That was close." She grabs her gun with one hand and shoots Kotal in the chest three times.

He hits the ground releasing her leg. "Well that was easy." She says and turns to leave, but before she does, a sunlight shines on Kotal, healing his wounds. He stands up and looks at her. "Our fight is not over female warrior."

"Holy shit"

She tries to shoot him again, but an unseen force rips her gun from her hand. Kotal crushes the gun and charges her. She ducks a punch and leaps up into a spinning kick. He back hands her. She blows dust into his eyes and he howls in pain as Sonya breaks his knee. She drop kicks him, straddles his body and places a knife to his throat.

"YIELD!" She commands, YIELD!"

"Kill me woman…I would rather die than live with the shame of this defeat."

"Yield my love for me." Sonya looks up to find Jade standing in the doorway to the pit.

"Jade is that you?"

"It is…now yield."

He looks at Sonya, "I yield."

JOHNNY CAGE

Johnny was overjoyed to see Sonya emerge victorious from her fight with Kotal. It was just before lunch he learned that his opponent would be Princess Mileena. Like Goro and Kotal, Mileena has fierce reputation as a tournament fighter. As they are eating Smoke joins them. "Welcome back." Liu Kang says.

"Thank you." He looks at Sonya, "And thank you for defeating Kotal."

An hour after lunch Johnny meets Mileena in the courtyard. Before he enters the courtyard, Raiden stops him, "Johnny Cage."

He smiles, "Raiden you can just call me Johnnny."

"As you wish…Mileena hates to be compared to her sister Kitana…It will enrage her, use it."

He nods, "Angry fighters make mistakes." After thanking Raiden he enters the courtyard. "Anyone ever tell you that you look Kitana?"

She rips off her mask and roars showing her Tarkatan teeth. "DIE!" She screams leaping at Johnny. He knocks her out of the air with a green energy bolt. Mileena hits the ground hard and Johnnny runs at her leaping with a flying knee. Mileena rolls away as he lands cracking the ground. Johnny tries to stomp her, but she rolls away from each attack. Mileena sticks her hand down and catapults into a cartwheel.

She lands on her feet, balls herself up and rolls across the ground like a ball. She knocks Johnny off his feet and unrolls drawing her sais. Johnny hits the ground, rolls over, and flips off his back. He hurls green bolts at Mileena, but she teleports into a kick, hitting him in the chest. Johnny stumbles backwards and leaps up into a spin kick, knocking her sais from her right hand. She leaps at him again ready to stab Johnny in the chest.

He drops to his back and sticks his leg up, catching her in the gut. He swings his other leg across and kicks Mileena in the face knocking some teeth free of her he leans to the side dropping her. Johnny stands up and kicks her in the face four times alternating feet. On the fifth kick she grabs his left leg and bites it.

"AAAHHH!" He yells. He bends down and stabs her in the eyes with two of his fingers. She releases him bellowing in pain. She channels her jinsei through her sais and fires bolts of purple energy at him. Johnny dodges the attacks even with his injured leg. Angry his eyes glow and then his body. He slides forward making shadows of himself and uppercuts her so hard that her head comes off. Blood splatters him as her body convulses, falls to its knees and hits the ground.

Johnny had never killed anyone in his life. Nor had he ever wanted to and yet the rage over took him. The power filled him and he finished her. He sits on a bed in the healing center, Sonya is at his side. "Are you alright Johnny Cage?"

He looks at Raiden, "No I'm not fucking alright! I just killed a someone!"\

"Not someone something. I told you before…Mileena was a clone forged by magic from Kitana and the blood of a Tarkatan. She was not human."

He stands up, his leg had been healed hours ago. "Maybe you can dismiss life so easily…" He replies pointing his finger in Raiden's chest, but I can't!"

"Even to defend the earth, yourself, or the woman you love…"

He looks at Sonya, "I love you and I'd die for you." He looks at Raiden, "Fuck you!" He says and walks away.

LIU KANG

When Liu Kang learns that he is to Reiko, he sees his chance to avenge Kung Lao. He meets Reiko in the throne room. Shang Tsung and Raiden are the only ones present. Shang sitting on his throne and Raiden standing at his right.

"So…" Are all the words that come from Reiko's mouth. Liu roars and leaps into flying kick. Reiko leaves his feet and his back. Then Liu flips sticking his left leg out. He lands on his right knee attacking with his left leg. Reiko rolls to the side and gets to his feet the same time as Liu. He hurls fire balls at Reiko, who dodges them.

Reiko slides into a shoulder attack, but Liu flips over him, lands his on his hands and mule kicks Reiko in the back. He hits the floor, rolls over and pulls out his Warhammer. Liu leaps and comes down on the shaft of the Warhammer. With a shove Liu flips off and faces Reiko, who swings his hammer. Liu dodges all his attacks and counters with a flaming punch.

His punch goes through the hammer's shaft and strikes Reiko in the chest. Reiko stumbles back, throws the pieces of his hammer down and attacks with a series of punches, kicks, and combos. Liu dodges all his attacks and counters with his own combo. He hits Reiko twice in the face, four times in chest, and a spinning kick to the face. After Reiko hits his back, Liu summons a fire ball and kills Reiko with it.

Shang Tsung stands up, "Flawless victory."
