Chap 2 In Plain Sight

~*~*Yougekisha, Hong Kong, China~*~*

"Pai not understand. This magazine company, why would they know anything about Professor Fujii's work?"

"He sold the O5 council on this being part of his build up for the Sanjiyan Unkara being something real in a way no one other than various Groups of Interest would take seriously. Since it is clear you lot are real it follows that these people may have been the ones helping him flesh out the details."

Yakumo knocked on the door and a young woman opened it.

"Hello, I am Fujii Yakumo and this is Ayanokoji Pai. Aguri Chen was helping my father in regards to the Sanjiyan Unkara and I wanted to see if he had found out anything new."

"I'm sorry but Mr. Aguri is not in but I am the editor until he get back from his latest information gathering project. Name's Ling Lee Ling," she smiled extending her hand.

"Honored to meet you," said Yakumo shaking her hand. "So what is his latest project?"

"Looking for the Sanjiyan Unkara's holy object, the Ningen No Zou. But I am surprised you came here to ask. Your father…"

"Is dead," interrupted Yakumo.

"What? How?"

"Professor Fujii old. Passed away. Gave Pai instructions on how to find son to continue the work."

"Nice he made sure the research continued to have such a strong Foundation," smirked Ling as she pulled out what at first appeared to be a credit card.

Yakumo narrowed his eyes as he recognized the card immediately. He reached in to his pocket and pulled out two cards. The one he normally carried and the other he had been given for this mission.

Ling frowned looking down at her orange card and the yellow and red cards in Yakumo's hand. She sighed. "Who ever came up with this watched way too many episodes of Mission Impossible."

"Pai have card too, Given by Professor Fujii," she beamed pulling out a black card. "But Pai don't know what black means."

"What in the… Did they approve this?"

Pai opened her third eye. "If you mean the O5 council no. I approved this."

Ling took a step back. "What? You mean all this time…" Her eyes widened. "Including the part about you consuming human souls?"

"What?!" fumed Paravti. "What third rate idiot came up with that?!"

Ling walked over and pulled out a book. "'A Sanjiyan Unkara will once in their immortal life devour a human soul and the one whose soul will become one of the undead and their body shall never parish.'"

"Oh that. Well that is how we make our Wu but the details are wrong. The reality is a part of the soul is removed and merged with the Sanjiyan Unkara. Figures how it worked would get twisted over the centuries."

"Would have save a lot of time it we had been told about this, but it was need to know wasn't it?"

"Yes, it puts the offer by Li Huang Song, one of the richest people in Hong Kong, to come and take care of their demon problem in prospective especially as they have this in his possetion," she said hading them a picture.

"The Ningen No Zou," frowned Paravti. "We have to secure it no matter what the cost. There is no way we can continue to let what Yakumo thinks is a Top Secret, Keter, Amida, Critical SCP to continue to be out and about in the world."

"What?! Just how much of what Professor Fujii said about the Ningen No Zou is true?"

"I have no idea what details he was privy to but I do have this," Paravti said pulling out the SCP-002 scroll case and handing it to Ling.

"I can't open this," Ling said struggling to open the case.

"Of course not, It is a red case. You currently don't have the security clearence to open it. As a member of the Supreme Council I give you permision to open it."

Ling opened the case and pulled out a scroll and tried to read it. "What is this in?"

"An old long dead lanuage. 'Translation activate'."

Ling blinked. "Oh now it is...oh my god! It's freaking reality warper?!"

"Not only that but it could easily cause a CK world ending event," said Yakumo.

Several hours later three was looking at the series of three long gash marks all over the room in the expensive house they were now in. "What in the world did this?"

"Pai's sister say Tou-Chao a very minor Creature of Darkness. Easily summoned by even non-transformed humans."

"Welcome everyone, I am sorry for the delay. I am Huang Song Li master of this household," said a woman with slightly pointed ears as she walked in.

Yakumo smiled even though his finely honed sences were saying 'there is something off about this person'. "Now, Huang Song Li, could you tell just what is going on?"

Several hours later Yakumo and Pai were in their room talking. "Possible possession, Tou-Chao running around, and Li feels off."

"What's Parvati say?"

"She think Huang Song Li not what she claims. She COD."

"Creature of Darkness. But it doesn't make sense. If it replaced the real Huang Song Li why go to all this trouble? There are much more effective ways to pull in a Group of Interest…"

"NOOOOOOOOO!" screamed a voice.

"That was Ling Ling," said Yakumo. Moments later they all found Ling Ling holding a bloody figure on the floor. "Mrs. Huang!" exclaimed Yakumo.

Yakumo touched the side of her neck. "She is still alive. Pulse seems to be still strong."

"What are you doing in the master's study?" asked the butler as he and the rest of the household ran into the room.

"Keeping the lady of the household from bleeding to death, Mr Chou," scowled Yakumo as he looked over at a wall and pointed, "And I would say why she was attacked has something to do with what ever is in that previously hidden safe."

"Boy, something sure wanted in there real bad," said Ling Ling looking at the claw marks.

Several minutes later everyone was watching the video tape of the camera that had watched the safe, "If there doubts this stop them. Clearly Tou-Chao involved," scowled Pai as the video showed three claw marks appear in the floor and then hit Mrs. Huang.

"Let's go back over that room," Yakumo said.

Back in the room with the safe Pai looked around. "LOOK!" she yelled. Everyone stared as three deep gouges appeared and approached them.

"SHIT! It is the Tou-Chao again," yelled Yakumo.

"Yakumo, LOOK OUT!" yelled Pai as the thing plowed right into Yakumo nearly tearing him in half. Pai jumped to Yakumo's side and opened her third eye. "Sorry Yakumo but we need something that cannot be killed to deal with that Tou-Chao and who ever is behind it," said Parvati as a beam of light from her third eye and a ball left Yakumo's body and entered the eye a mark appearing on his forehead.

Yakumo stumbled to his feet the pain largely gone, the wounds rapidly closing. "Hey, you missed," he taunted.

The marks denoting where the Tou-Chao was turned and headed right for him. Pulling his sidearm Yakumo waited until the marks where mere feet from him and emptied the side arm into what he hoped was the thing's head.

Moments passed and the marks didn't move. "I think I killed the damn thing."

"It was like a freaking nightmare," said Ling Ling.

"Nightmare. Yes that does describe what has happened here very well," said a soft voice from the entrance.

"Mrs. Huang! You should not be up," exclaimed Ling Ling as Yakumo ran over to the tottering woman.

"Ling Ling is right. You can barely stand," said Yakumo as the woman slowly moved her way to the safe.

"Everything started when my husband acquired this katami through the black market."

"A katami?" asked Parvati, "That means keepsake or heirloom."

"Yes, the item in this case from the Manchu dynasty," said Huang-san throwing the safe open.

"Good grief," muttered Yakumo.

"The Ningen No Zou!" frowned Parvati.

" Huang-san, we can gladly buy this and take it away," Yakumo said walking toward the safe

Chou stepped in front of Yakumo. "I cannot allow you to take the statue of the Sanjiyan Unkara."

"Take? We are merely claiming what is ours. Or can't you count?" growled Parvati pointing to her third eye.

"The stutue is Kaiyanwang Shiva's."

Parvati laughed. "There is one group of Sanjiyan Unkara above even Kaiyanwang."

Chou promptly paled. "No. You're all gone." Moving incredibly fast he grabbed the statue and ran.

BANG BANG "You killed my husband you murdering thief," said Mrs. Huang holding a gun in both her hands.

"No," groaned Chou as he fell forward. "The Supreme Council is gone. It's dead."

"No, but you are," said Parvati pointing her staff at Chou.

"You think I am alone? There are others in this very city. We will…"

"Die," said Parvati coldly. "Rei-Syou!" The lightning shoot out and coiled around Chou but this time the body it was coiled around turning into a burnt corpse. Parvati turned her eyes cold and hard as she looked at the woman called Huang Song Li. "Mind telling us how and when you replaced the real Huang Song Li and just that the hell has been going on?"

~*~*Site (redacted), Hong Kong*~*~

"A very through report, Agent Yakumo or rather SCP-001-A," said the director.

"What containment cell do you want me to report to, sir?"

"None, SCP-001-A. Your loyalty to the foundation and your new abilities make you perfect for some of the more dangerous missions. Beside based on what Chou said at best we have a Group of Interest that has allied itself with the agents of this Kaiyanwang Shiva. Besides a little trip to the Wanders Library confirmed that the Sazan Collective Protectorate is real and it did found this version of the SCP Foundation. For good or ill "C7" is now a real designation."

There was a knock at the door. "Enter."

Pai entered a tadpole like thing curled around her neck a single eye in its mouth. "Pai and sister been going over archive. Think you have several efforts at creating artificial Wu." Pai pulled out a note book. "SCP-0103 your SCP-096, the Gray Wu; SCP-0157 your SCP-076, SCP-0250 your SCP-963, and SCP-1500 your SCP-1060."

"What about what is around your neck?" asked Yakumo.

"Oh that is a COD-0129, a Fei-Oh," beamed Pai. Pai shook her head and her third eye opened. "Don't work they are fiercely loyal to members of the Supreme Council and those who serve them," commented Parvati as she scratched the thing's chin. "We have a member of COD-0120, Shunkai in containment. I recommend Euclid, Vlam, Warning. Security level I leave to the O5 counsel as they have a better gauge of that than either of us do. Our main order of business is to find the COD-GOI Chou alluded to and if, as I suspect, they are a threat shut them down. I also recommend we keep the Gibbering Ossified Cretins out of the loop. The last thing we need is those morons messing with things they don't understand and making them worse."

Parvati paused. "The Serpent's Hand and Chaos Insurgency are more dangerous. They are both stupid and crazy enough to go and do something insanely stupid with an Sazan SCP more so than the GOC is. The rest...well they run the range from annoying to problematic."

~*~*A day later, Hong Kong*~*~

"So left over magic lead us here, Yakumo?"

"Yes, Right in front of the Royal Soala hotel." Yakumo looked up. "The top floor is bathed in the energy."

"Pai count 32 floors."

Yakumo merely nodded as they made their way to the elevator. Getting in he reached for the panel and frowned. "What the...? The controls only go up to the 30th floor."

"As sister feared. Powerful perception filter needed to hide this."

"If she means the discrepancy I agree," said Yakumo knocking at the bottom of the panel. "The buttons are likely hidden behind this emergency fire panel."

"We at the GOC noticed this too," said a man stepping on to the elevator.

"Hello brother," said Ling Ling coldly. "SCP-001-A and SCP-001, this is my brother Steven Long."

"Figures that one of Hong Kong's more famous experts in purification and exorcism worked for the Global Occult Collocation," commented Yakumo.

"Pai confused. She thought GOC stood for Gibbering Ossified Cretins."

Steven Long frowned. "Wait a minute, did you say SCP-001-A and SCP-001?"

"I thought you would have reacted more to the 'Gibbering Ossified Cretins' comment," said Yakumo.

"We are use to the contempt the Foundation has for the GOC. I assume the 'girl' is SCP-001 and you are SCP-001-A."

"Pai not just any SCP-001, She 'C-7'," smiled Pai. "Agent Yakumo is SCP-001-A, Pai and Parvati's Wu."

"What?"

"It's interesting what you can do with a little piece of flesh colored cheese cloth and some spirit gum," said Yakumo pulling of the cloth covering his mark.

"Since our efforts to keep you morons uninvolved failed spectacularly looks like we stuck with you Gesu. Do try not to do something totally moronic like you did with SCP-1609. I doubt even combined we have enough amnestics to hide the fact that thanks to you stumble bums there isn't a Hong Kong anymore," said Parvati.

Steven Long stared at SCP-001. "You've got three eyes."

"Thank you, Agent Obvious. You going to tell us the sun will freaking rise tomorrow?"

Yakumo stepped between Parvati and Long. "Look, I know they can go off and do something idiotic but I thought our goal was to confirm your suspicions that thsi COD cell might be doing human sacrifices in attempt to free Kaiyanwang Shiva whose agents are passing off as the Scarlet King."

Parvati grumbled and then narrowed her three eyes. "You there," she said pointing at a man with her staff. "What do you know of the top floors?"

Yakumo looked and gasped. "SCP-1504 - Joe Schmo?"

The SCP blinked his eyes. "You can see me?"

"What? Of course we can see you. The perception filter doesn't hide the fact you are there just what one does is not normal," fumed Parvati.

"Peanut butter."

"What? Why kind of off the wall response is 'peanut butter'?"

"You can actually hear what I am saying!" laughed the man running up to the four in the elevator.

"Parvati, this is SCP-1504. His perception filter works differently. It is like he isn't even there. Or that is how it normally works."

"But I heard the weird response as well," said Ling Ling.

"So did I. What gives?" asked Steven.

"Who cares. You know how long I have wanted someone to actually talk too?"

"Parvati, he may be of help. He was able to walk away from the location he was contained at which had such a mammoth containment breach they had to set off of the low yield on site nuke. He can also disrupt electronics."

Parvati smiled. "Mr. Schmo."

"Joe, please."

"Alright, Joe. Can you cause this elevator to go to the floors whose buttons are hidden behind this panel?"

"Yes. Yes I can," said SCP-1504 putting his hands on the panel. The doors closed and the elevator started to move.

"Ling Ling..."

"I've worked with dangerous SCP most of my career. I am not going to put off by a bunch of Chaos Insurgency want-a-bes."

The elevator stopped moving and the doors opened. A bunch of trench coated people with crab masks turned clearly startled.

"You have two choices," grinned Parvati. "Either step aside or," she continued twisting the top of her cane allowing a harpy like creature to come out, "become Takuhi chow."

The figures just stood. "Hey, a member of the Supreme Council gave you two options and standing around like rubber necking tourists wasn't one of them," yelled Yakumo.

"No," hissed a voice as a demonic looking creature stepped out of the shadows. The Supreme Council is gone. The real Foundation is gone. All that remains is Kaiyanwang Shiva, the Scarlet King."

"All praise the Scarlet King," responded the crab masked people.

"Oh a COD-1120 - Ryouko, how cute," mocked Parvati. "Chaos Insurgency want-a-bes? More like Children of the Scarlet Moron want-a-bes lead by a Genu fool."

"Scarlet King? This involves the fucking Scarlet King?" asked Steven his eyes widening.

"Fucking?" laughed Parvati. "I said he was my fiancee not my husband and from what I learned he hasn't exactly been faithful. Breading with humans of little note. Ha. Though I must admit the offspring are impressive. Especially SCP-999."

"What?" stammered the Ryouko. "You lie. Our human sacrifices..."

"Did nothing," shot back Yakumo. "The Anubus guardian wiped out your little trip to Site-001."

"Besides we have secured SCP-002, the Ningen no Zou. Even if you could somehow get pass the golem guardian you have no means to wake Rip Van Wrinkle," mocked Parvati.

"LIES. ALL OF IT. Slaughter all but the mouthy Sanjiyan Unkara. Even if she is not the fiancee of the Scarlet King we will be richly rewarded."

Moments passed. "What are you waiting for?" screeched the Ryouko.

"We serve the Scarlet King and we will not risk harming what may be one of his preordained brides."

"FOOLS I will do it myself," yelled the Ryouko as it charged the elevator.

"Protect the possible future bride of the Scarlet King!" yelled one of the masked men.

"TRAITORS. IDIOTS." yelled the Ryouko as the masked men rushed to restrain him. "Don't you understand what she claimed to be?" it roared.

"I do," said Yakumo. "A member of the Supreme Council who has authority over any Kaiyanwang even the Scarlet King!"

The battle stopped as everyone looked at Yakumo.

"She is above the Scarlet King?" whispered one of the masked men.

"ARRGGHH," roared the Ryouko. "You drooling degenerates! The Supreme Council is the ultimate ruling body of the Sazan Collective Protectorate who delegated much of their authority to the SCP Foundation. She and all who serve her is the enemy of the Scarlet King!"

The masked men loosened their grip as they started to argue among themselves and the Ryouko again charged the elevator. "Your three friends are merely future sacrifices for Kaiyanwang Shiva."

"Guess we have a Dimwit Award Winner," commented Parvati. "We need to wrap this up. I am getting tired and Pai will be more a hindrance than help."

"Three..." muttered Joe a wicked smile growing on his face as he ran straight at the Ryouko as the masked men started to come to blows and then started to shoot each other.

"What magic is this?" screamed the Ryouko as Joe gave the thing a good upper cut knocking it back.

"Hey Supreme Council member your bird thing looks hungry."

"I like your thinking, Joe. Takuhi, look tenderized Ryouko. Lunch time!"

Between Takuhi and Joe the Ryouko stood no chance. After all how can you fight two foes when can't even realize one was even there?

Moments later the four were going over the remnants of the battle. "Found one but I don't think he's going to be around long," said Joe.

Pai went over to the man. "Ryouko said human sacrifices."

"Of course. They are in a side room," gasped the dying man pointing. "It is only fitting that my last act is to help shepherd the rise of the true ruler of this world, the Scarlet Queen."

"Pai not understand."

"I see it all now. You, you are the Scarlet Queen. And I am honored to have died in your presence serving you," finished the man as he died.
