Hello, everyone!

This is the new and improved story!

Sorry for all the mess with all the poor grammar.

However, I remember at one point where my account was going on the fritz back then.

It was really hard for me to go back and fix mistakes since it wouldn't save the attempts.

But, don't worry I found a way around it.

My whole body pulsed as trembles of pain shot through my body like a lightning rod. My vision began to fade as I stared up to the sky grabbing onto nearby rocks with a tight grip trying to keep myself grounded. Even as the summer sun towered in the sky I shivered feeling colder than I ever had. A tear fell down my face as a sharp pain resonated through me. It hurt so much and it was to the point where I couldn't even breath.

'I failed again,' I thought, tears falling like a waterfall, 'I didn't make it to the top this time'. It got darker and darker with each passing second and before I fell back into the abyss I could have sworn a figure was towering over me. 'I'm sorry Sans. I broke my promise,' and the last thing I heard was the sound of laughter.

'Nighty Night, Frisk.'

RESET

I gasped awake, I was breathing hard and my body ached so much it felt like I had run a marathon just the day before. I wiped the sweat from my brow as I looked over at my clock to see the time.

It was 1:45 AM. It wasn't unusual for me to wake up at this hour, ever since I left the underground I've been having one nightmare after another. They were always different but had the same theme. Death.

Sometimes, it was about me dying in the most horrible and cruelest of ways, or sometimes it was about me killing every monster in the underground. It hurts my heart to think that in my dream I had killed so many people, even the people I held so dearly to my heart.

But lately, I have been having the same dream over and over. Being surrounded by darkness, feeling pain I had never imagined, and feeling as if someone was watching me as I suffered. I could almost feel their amusement on some nights.

Getting out of bed and into my own personal bathroom, Toriel thought it best that I have my own bathroom when we moved to the surface. Since she and Asgore had so much fur, she wanted me to have my own since I didn't shed as much and didn't have to clean as much as they had too.

Going on autopilot, I instinctively went through my nightly routine of watching my face then grabbing the cup by the sink. I placed the cup under the facet and poured myself some water before drinking it. Allowing the coolness of the water to calm my nerves. I used to go downstairs to get water but I always ended up waking one or the both of them in the process. After doing it so many nights in a row they started to get worried so I thought it best to start drinking from the sink so I wouldn't bother them. Though I should just consider just keeping water bottles in my room, but I kept forgetting to get them.

After drinking a bit of water I placed the cup gently on the sink as I looked up at myself in the mirror as I do every night. And every night I get the same results, 'despite it all it's still me,' I thought to myself, though I don't know why. It seems that I expect there to be someone else looking back at me, someone that I really don't want to see, though I don't know who nor do I ever want to find out.

I observed myself for a moment as if trying to find some difference in my appearance but nothing. Well other than the obvious, of course, I'm a lot older now than I was after leaving the underground, I have the same round face and squinty eyes, with hair slightly touching my shoulders; however, I am a bit taller now. Though still short for the average 16-year-old. But, still even though every thing looked the same, I look a bit more mature then I did back then. So as far as I can see I'm still the same as always.

I sighed as I grabbed my laptop and earphones on top of my desk before making my way back to the bed. I knew that I wasn't going to get any sleep tonight so I started to watch the anime's Alphys recommended that I watch a few weeks ago.

~Next Morning~

Hearing the alarm go off I swiftly reached over to turn it off sighing sadly, 'I was on the best part!' I thought, looking longingly at my computer screen; however, I knew I was going to get in trouble if Toriel saw me using it at this time. Getting up to start my day I calmly got ready even though it was the beginning of summer vacation. Toriel and Asgore thought it was important for a family to have breakfast together.

Because they were gonna be very busy during the break since they wanted to leave the school open for a daycare, summer camp, and summer school. I thought that it was a little much for them to do that all at once but Toriel was always determined. Luckily monsters and a few curious humans, who wondered what it would be like to teach monsters, will be there to help them. I walked to my closet to get my absolute favorite striped blue and purple shirt, that reminded me so much of my childhood, though it was more of a long sleeved shirt rather than a sweater. With a pair of MTT brand blue Jeans, that MTT gifted me for Christmas last year, they were the comfiest pair of jeans that I own. So I was happy when he decided to give me five pairs because I wear them constantly. With a pair of black sneakers, Papyrus got me for my birthday, before making my way downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen to already see Toriel cooking breakfast, while, Asgore was sitting at the table reading today's articles as he often did every morning.

"Well, good morning my child. How did you sleep?" Toriel asked once I entered the kitchen, wearing a long-sleeved purple shirt and a dark blue skirt that went down to her ankles. She didn't wear shoes as was her preference since her feet were much too large to fit any, even MTT offered to make her a pair. "Good. Morning Mom," I lied, I never grew out of being quiet so everyone was pretty much used to me being quiet and nonchalant. Or giving short answers instead of having long conversations, so everyone makes sure to include me even though I don't say much. Since I don't really involve myself all that often, but this just shows how grateful I was to have everyone in my life. Though I wish I wasn't like that, wishing I could be more open with everyone, be more active but they understood so they never pushed me or tried to force me to speak when I wasn't ready to.

I was so grateful and loved them so much that thinking that I could ever hurt or even kill any of my friends makes me sick. "Go ahead dear, the food is almost ready so why don't you take a seat until its done," I nodded walking to the dining room to see Asgore waiting patiently drinking tea wearing a blue shirt with yellow flowers and a pair of grey shorts with no shoes on.

"Good morning young one," Asgore said smiling lovingly as he put his paper to the side so he could read it later. I smiled back, "Good morning Dad," I said softly, grabbing the tea packet so I could make some tea for myself. I found that most human children thought it strange that I would drink tea since it was uncommon for them as their typical drink of choice was juice or soda. "I'm it took longer than I expected," Toriel says as she enters the room looking apologetic as she brought in their breakfast on a large tray. Which looked absolutely delicious with a mountain of pancakes, eggs in a large bowl, and a pile of bacon on it's own separate place, it looked mouth watering. Since, Toriel and Asgore were large monsters they would eat larger portions so that meant there was a guarantee that I would have a large helping for myself. In addition, not only was there amazing food right behind it sat one of Toriel's delicious pies, "I had to wait until the pie was ready to be taken out of the oven," she said as she lowered the tray on top of the table.

"Nonsense dear come and let us eat," Asgore says while I shake my head smiling to show that it was alright. Since usually when I come downstairs the food was always on the table at any given meals. Toriel takes pride in knowing that anyone who sits at her table already has food on the table so they can start eating.

We had a peaceful breakfast just the three of us though I found myself being distracted as my mind continuously wandered to the dream from last night. "You alright dear," Toriel asked a bit concerned. "I'm fine. Just tired," I said smiling, trying to cover up the distress I was feeling. "If you're sure," Toriel says going back to her meal. 'I can never tell her' I thought sadly, 'I can never tell anyone. They'll probably think the worst of me and maybe think that there was something wrong with me.'

After eating such a delicious breakfast in addition to the super tasty raspberry pie then I helped Toriel clean up. When I finished cleaning up then ran up to get my gym bag before coming down and saying goodbye to them, "where are you going dear?" Toriel asked, "oh that's right you're going out with your friends today," she warmly gave me a sweet bear hug that never failed to make me feel warm and safe. "Well be careful dear," Asgore says as he sits reading the paper in his large armchair in the living room. "I will! I love you!" I said as I ran out the door.

Today, I am going to be hanging out with Papyrus and Undyne at her new gym she created. Undyne is a trainer who humans immediately acknowledged to be very strong, so many people all over the world, famous or otherwise, come to train at her gym so they could get stronger. However, Undyne's training was no joke as many would quit half way through because of how serious and painful her training was. When she thought of training it was through hard and gruesome training sessions that are made to push someone to their limits so it can break them. So with the help of Undyne, build themselves back up again as a new and improved fighter and with better morals. Even if there was the occasional talk of super awesome warriors that shoot lasers out of their eyes.

She likes to give Papyrus and I free lessons and for us, it was a lot of fun since sometimes she likes to put it in a form of a game of sorts for us. And since Alphys and her are together she likes to tweak the gym up a bit with machines and equipment that can handle the brut force that Undyne was famous for. It also helps when she and Papyrus train together because when the two train together, they will more than likely take it to the extreme. So nothing can get broken or destroyed because of their antics which everyone was thankful for.

My happy smile, of seeing my friends that day dimmed, as a skeleton wearing a blue sweater came to mind, knowing full well he will be there as well.

Sans.
