Chapter five

'Do you know what does surprise me Harry?' Kingsley smiled, 'That you still have your parts.'

Harry looked puzzled, 'I don't get what you mean.'

'After hearing you shagged dozens of woman and men, I figured your friends would have hexed those parts off. That was a dangerous thing to do, who knows who those people could have been. But when did you figure out that you liked men?'

'It made me forget,' Harry glanced down at the diary again, then at Charlie, 'The men were better, so I just did.'

'That's good to know Harry, so I might get a turn with the saviour,' Charlie grinned then laughed at Ron who's face went bright red and his jaw dropped. 'See if he's as good in bed as he is with everything else.'

Harry's breathing got heavy as he stared into Charlie's eyes and forgetting everyone was watching them, then Harry grabbed his head and pulled Charlie to him and their lips met in a passionate kiss.

'You had to say something didn't you Kingsley,' Ron huffed as he scowled up at the minister.

'What did I do?' Kingsley stood up and faced Ron.

'I do not want to watch what they get up to, my brother and my mate.'

'They would have started sooner or later Ron, I just gave Harry the slightest of nudges. I'd seen the looks Charlie gave Harry when Bill was getting married. Why do you think I explained what Sirius and Albus said. They knew Harry was gay back when he was fourteen, he just never worked it out. But then was not the time to discuss any ones sexuality.'

'They don't look like surfacing anytime soon by the look of this kiss, we're not going to get any sense out of either of them.' Hermione smiled over at her friend.

'Did you just drop in to see how Harry was or was there another reason?' Arthur asked.

'Mainly for Harry, but also to find out about the aurors. We need more, the two with me are the only two left, the rest died during the fighting. Harry always said he wanted to be an auror, he told me once that you wanted to as well Ron, still interested?'

'Definitely and I know Harry will even if his lips won't leave my brother's to tell you that.'

Harry and Charlie slowly moved apart but kept staring at each other and not taking any notice of anyone in the room.

'Harry,' Kingsley said then patted his shoulder, 'Harry, eyes off Charlie for a minute.'

Harry slowly turned his head and looked up, 'Um, yeah.'

Kingsley chuckled, 'Aurors, do you still want to be an auror?'

'Yeah,' Harry shrugged, 'It's all I ever wanted to do. But you know,' Harry shrugged again.

'It'll work out and if you still don't talk a lot, these two behind do enough for everyone.'

'Don't worry Kingsley, I'll get Harry's mouth working,' Charlie smirked making Harry go red.

'Charlie,' Molly scolded then slapped the back of his head.

Harry chuckled, 'That might work,' he said softly.

'Oh there's my boy. But I'm telling you now Harry, nothing is going to happen until you put some bloody weight on. I think I'd split you in two.'

'Charlie, you might ignore your mother, but you won't ignore me,' Minerva said sternly in her voice she used to intimidate the students.

'Sorry Minerva, but you haven't been my teacher in years and if mum doesn't scare me, no one will.'

'Why?' Harry said softly as he stared at Charlie.

'Why, I think you need to give me more than a why.'

'Why do you like me?'

'Well let's see,' Charlie leaned back, 'Your damn cute Potter, my sister told me you were a great snog and from what I've heard about these people that visited you, they seemed to like your size,' Charlie chuckled again as Harry went bright red with embarrassment, 'Why did you let them do that, people you didn't know? I know you said you wanted to forget, but they could have been his supporters for all you knew,' Charlie saw Harry chew his lip as he shrugged, 'Oh, I see Potter.'

'See what, I don't get it Charlie,' Ron stared between his brother and mate.

'Considering you've known Harry longer, it's a wonder you never worked it out. It's a wonder Kingsley never worked it out, being an auror who is supposed to be the best.'

'I worked it out Charlie and we are the best, never forget that.'

'I didn't, so just tell me,' Ron said.

'He didn't care if one of them were a supporter and they killed him. It wasn't just to help him forget, it was so he would die.'

Harry grabbed his bottle to take another drink but Charlie took it from his hands and placed it out of his reach.

'Enough Firewhiskey Harry, just tell me if I'm right?'

Harry lowered his head and held the diary to his chest but nodded at the same time.

'Everyone, I'm going to take Harry upstairs, we need to talk,' Charlie pulled Harry to his feet and then dragged him up the stairs.

'Just talk Charlie, Harry isn't well enough for anything else,' Molly called after them before she looked back at Kingsley, 'Was he really going to let someone do that?'

'Yes, he's depression just got too much for him to handle. How did you talk him into coming here Minerva?'

'First he cried, then I just said he doesn't need to talk but he couldn't stay inside his parent's house. If he wanted to keep going back in and get a small glimpse of their lives, then he should. But the main thing I said was if he stayed there we'd find him dead and I asked him not to let any of us find his body.'

'That's why he needs all of you, he has to be watched. But I think Charlie just might be able to get through to him. It's a good thing that Charlie mentioned he'd had a thing for Harry for a while now.' Kingsley said.

'I might not like the fact that Harry couldn't resume our relationship, but at least I know Charlie doesn't want Harry just for who he is. If I have to lose him to someone, then I'm glad it's Charlie. That might make our brother settle down a bit, don't you think?'

'You might be right Ginny, but I'm not looking forward to watching them two snog all the time. I kept seeing Charlie's tongue,' Ron grimaced.

'I don't think any of us have a choice in the matter. But I think it's going to be very amusing. Harry's so quiet normally, now it's just more so. He's also not one to talk about his feelings or what he does in private, like when he dated Ginny. Charlie is the complete opposite to Harry. He's anything but quiet, talks about how he feels and what he does in private. How many times has Charlie told us about some bloke he's shagged and what he does, not something any of us want to hear and not something I want to hear about my best friend,' Hermione said and saw Molly, Arthur, George, Ginny and Ron nod who all knew what Charlie was like, nothing like Harry at all.

'Since Charlie took Harry upstairs, I thought I'd let you know Ron that if you want to start an early auror training, I'm setting one up. We can't afford to wait until Hogwarts reopens and considering what you, Hermione and Harry were able to do and stay hidden, you don't need to worry about your N.E.W.T.s. Now Hermione, I know you don't want to be an auror, even though I wish you would. But if you want to go visit any department, I'll get a letter ready for you. I might not know everything, but I know that what you've done and been doing for years would have you passing your N.E.W.T.s easily.'

'Thank you Kingsley,' Hermione gave him a smile.

'I'm in Kingsley, but Harry, I think he needs time before he gets back into fighting dark witches and wizards.'

'I know and I'm not expecting either of you start now. Not just Harry, but you need some time too Ron. Rest, spend time with Hermione and your family. It's the first time in years that you three haven't had Voldemort to worry about.'

'He makes sense Ron, you should take some time as well, we all should take some time, maybe a few months,' Hermione squeezed his hand.

'Yeah, alright, because I could do with some time, maybe it will help Harry if we can relax together.'

'Maybe if you start having a normal life, he will see that and realise he can as well,' Arthur said.

'What about his mother being pregnant though. He's probably blaming himself for that, so I don't think he's going to get over that any time soon,' Hermione looked up at Professor McGonagall, 'Do you know if Professor Dumbledore knew about the Potters because he never said anything to Harry professor?'

'He only knew they wanted more children. Sirius never said anything either, so maybe they never told anyone. I saw Lily about two weeks before she died, she wasn't showing, so it must have been early on in the pregnancy. Now since you two and Harry are not returning to Hogwarts, you can call me Minerva. I am not your teacher anymore or you're headmistress.'

'That's going to seem strange…Minerva,' Ron blushed, 'Sounds strange.'

'I'm sure you will adapt Mr. Weasley,' Minerva smiled, 'What about you Ginny, are you going to finish your last year? You will go straight into seventh year.'

'I have to Professor, I'm hoping to play quidditch and get spotted by a scout.'

'Then I will tell you that you will be the new captain of Gryffindor since Harry is not returning. But you will receive all that information when the time comes. Now I should get back to Hogwarts, still lots to do.'

'I'm glad you were able to talk Harry into coming here. If he was going to listen to anyone, it would be you, he always liked and respected you. Hopefully now he will realise he doesn't need to be alone,' Hermione smiled again.

'He knew I was serious, none of us would have liked to enter that house and find his body and I knew one of us would have. If he needs anything, let me know.'

'We will Minerva and thank you,' Arthur said.

'Since I'm not sure how long before they will be back down, I should go, got a world to run.'

'Before you go, since you said these two aurors are the only two left, which one will be our boss?' Ron grinned.

Kingsley chuckled, 'This is Malus and Terence and as for what you asked Ron, I'm still working on that. They have only been aurors for two years, one year of that they were still training. So for now I'm acting as head auror until you lot join and I assess who would be suitable.'

'I don't want to sound rude or anything, but only a year as a full auror. I remember Mad-Eye and Tonks telling us that the first year after training is still training really.'

'Technically, yes it is. It takes three years after the initial first year to become a full auror. Now even though you and Harry never did seventh year, you have been using more advanced spells than what your N.E.W.T.s require, so you two probably have more experience than Malus and Terence. You definitely have more when it comes to going up again dark witches and wizards. I saw how good you lot were when you were only fifteen. You six were holding your own against twelve of his worst death eaters. Harry only surrendered because they finally overpowered you using dark magic, something you lot never use. Malus and Terence have never been up against people like that, that's also why they survived. They weren't at Hogwarts, they were keeping an eye on the muggle prime minister. You three have faced a lot of death eaters, dark magic and dark spells over the years and not once did you ever use anything like that.'

'I've used it,' Harry said quietly as he walked back down with Charlie, but everyone noticed Charlie had his arm around Harry's waist.

'When?' Kingsley stiffened slightly, but so did Charlie.

'I used two unforgivables that night,' Harry shrugged then sat down still clutching the book, but his shirt was closed.

'Harry, open your shirt, it needs air to help heal.'

Harry looked at Mrs. Weasley, then undid his shirt, before looking back down at his mother's diary.

'Are you going to answer me Harry?' Kingsley asked.

'First was a goblin and a death eater that was to get into Gringotts, then Carrow for spitting at McGonagall.'

'Which unforgivables since the Carrow's are dead?'

'The imperius and cruciatus curse, I would never use the killing curse, it killed my parents, it killed Sirius.'

'You know the use of an unforgivable is a life sentence in Azkaban,' Kingsley said and all Harry did was shrug, 'Don't you care about that?'

'Not really, my life has always been shit anyway.'

'Whatever you did up there with Harry Charlie, doesn't seem to have helped,' Ron said watching his friend.

'I tried to get him to talk, he refused which pissed me right off. But I figured Harry might need more time,' Charlie looked up at Kingsley, 'You're not going to send Harry there, are you Kingsley, it was war?'

'And that is the only reason Harry will not be punished for using those curses. Even though I wasn't minister during the fighting, I used the imperius curse on a few snatchers. They had two young girls cornered and they weren't using spells on them if you get what I mean. So I used the curse because there were still a lot of death eaters around me. I didn't have time to try and disarm and bind them. So I worked on a new law about the use of unforgivables during the battle of Hogwarts. Sometimes in the heat of war you can't help using spells you normally wouldn't. So Harry, can you promise to never use them again?'

'I won't,' Harry shrugged.

Kingsley shook his head and saw the others around the kitchen all thought the same as him. That Harry just needed time to learn to live with everything, including the knowledge that his mother died while she was pregnant.
