Chapter 6– Another year down

[Skill Leveled Up: Object Creation] Lvl 3

I waved away the message, my hands busy with holding my new creation.

It was a thick steel chain over 10 meters long with each link 5 inch wide. Even I would not be able to break this, let alone a low-class devil. Especially the stray devil that I've captured, who doesn't seem to have enough brains to use anything but his strength and his freaky long tongue, from which it spat globs of poison. Well...it used to spit poison but that was before I ripped his tongue off.

I'd found this thing stalking us when me and my minions were playing the most noble game of hide and seek. Issei would've most likely died from the stray's attack had he not unlocked some badly designed red glove and punched off the devil. He'd managed to survive just long enough for me to get there and save his puny life.

But now that I had this tier 2 being in front of me, I couldn't let it go without some experimentation, can I?

Low-class stray devil

Race: Stray Devil

Tier: 2

Level: 132

Demonic Power: 4000/4000

Stamina: 6750/6750

Health: 7500/7500

Stats

Strength: 144

Speed: 106

Dexterity: 125

Endurance: 135

Constitution: 150

Mental: 10

Spirit: 80

"W-what is this!?" The tired Issei screamed, running to hide behind Irina.

"This is our new companion for the rest of the day." I replied with a snicker as I started binding the unconscious stray devil in chains.

"Wow!" Irina exclaimed.

"Why!?" Issei whined.

"Now now, Issei. If you are really serious about becoming a scientist then you have to do this kind of stuff."

Suddenly the boy looked more determined than I've ever seen him. "...You are right, Mikael-san! I must do this."

The boy started walking towards the devil, still shaking like a leaf. I picked him up by his scruff and dropped him back to his place.

"You don't need to do anything right now issei." I said, still binding the stray with the steel chain. "Just stand there and watch me."

After that, I ignored my useless minions and went about satisfying my curiosity. I woke up the devil, letting it test it's strength against its bounds while making careful observation. It thrashed around, trying to break the steel links but ultimately failing. I still got what I needed though.

The devil could exert more than 14,000 Newton of force when lifting, so the maximum weight he could lift would be around ...1440 kgs? If we take gravity as acceleration. So 1 stat in strength could lift 10 kgs in tier 2.

I was happy to note that the Increase in strength was consistent. Tier 1 had 5 kgs per stat, and tier 2 10 kgs. So tier 3 should logically be 15 kgs per stat right? Or if the strength was doubling in every tier, then 20 kgs per stat.

Well, it seems the time to know my true strength has finally come. I hadn't got any chance to test it since my tier upgrade, so I was definitely excited for it.

As it turned out, I was wrong. My maximum strength was much more than I'd theorized. I could completely lift a maximum of 6900 kgs, or 15200 pounds, or 6.9 tons or 7.6 Us tons.

I was stunned. This kind of strength...it shouldn't be in the hands of a 6 year old, god or no god. I could literally pick up cars and throw them around. Hell, I could probably lift an elephant with sheer strength.

But then I realised, I was just a fish in the ocean. Just a tier 3 being with 230 strength. What could my mother lift if she tried to?

...What can a god? it was a scary thought.

Worst, I actually had an idea about their strength and speed now. The difference in tiers was substantial but consistent. Tier 2 was twice as strong as tier 1, tier 3 was thrice as strong as tier 2, and I'll bet anything that tier 4 was 4 times as strong as tier 3. The difference increased more and more with each tier. So I crafted an accurate enough stat sheet, that gave me an idea of what I was going to face.

For tier 1= 1 stat is 5 kgs

For tier 2= 1 stat is 10 kgs

For tier 3= 1 stat is 30 kgs

For tier 4= 1 stat is 120 kgs

For tier 5= 1 stat is 600 kgs

For tier 6= 1 stat is 3600 kgs

For tier 7= 1 stat is 25200 kgs

For tier 8= 1 stat is 201,600 kgs

For tier 9= 1 stat is 1,814,400 kgs

For tier 10= 1 stat is 18,144,000 kgs

So if I calculated this correctly, and I knew I did (Increased intelligence helped a lot), then mother should be able to lift around 17 million kgs. Almost 20k US tons.

I had trouble imagining that kind of weight. She could literally smack away a tank by accident. And there's no vehicle she couldn't pick up. Cars, SUVs, buses, trucks, trains, even freaking aeroplanes!

It was ridiculous.

For the first time in my new life, I had a glimpse of what made a god, God.

And it was frightening.

For the next few days I spent my time worrying about the future. In a year I'll be going to America, and mingle with the Greeks. And all the myths and stories that I'd took to reading suggested they were one of the biggest assholes out of all the mythologies.

And I wasn't even at the level of a demigod yet!

Just thinking about it gave me a headache.

Thankfully, Issei was there to provide a good distraction.

Issei Hyoudou (Red Dragon Emperor)

Race: Human

Tier: 1 (Mortal Tier)

Level: 6

Stamina: 70/70

Health: 60/60

Stats

Strength: 5

Speed: 6

Dexterity: 6

Endurance: 7

Constitution: 6

Mental: 9

The Red Dragon Emperor. I've read a lot of stories of that being— stories of how even gods stayed wary of the beast, of how powerful it was, and of course, of its legendary rivalry with the white dragon Emperor.

And I couldn't care one bit.

It was sealed, and while the Longinus sacred gear did empower the user drastically, I doubted Issei was ever going to be a threat to the gods. It was universally known that the sacred gears were defective, and quite limiting. Even the most powerful longinus user was only able to use around 65-70% of the original source's power. And considering the limitations of human body, even if Issei came out as some absolutely monstrous genius (doubtful), he will still only be around an Ultimate-class devil's level, or even pushing slightly, at peak-ultimate class level.

Which was good enough for me to promote him from my junior minion to senior minion. But that was it.

I did start involving him and Irina in my training, but other than that, I kept the whole thing a secret.

I'd wanted to tell mother, but she was too busy with devils vs exorcists stuff so I refrained. Apparently the city's guardian, Cleria Belial, was having a steamy love affair with an exorcist, and was foolish enough to reveal it to the world.

Like seriously, why? Why would you do that? As far as I knew devil and angels/exorcists were equal to vampires and werewolves. Even a kid should know not to be friendly with each other publically.

Not this kid though, it seems.

Time passed in kuoh without any major event. I felt like I was on an extended holiday compared to my previous 6 years of my life. There was no threat to my life, and after my research into tier difference was done, I found my schedule being too empty. Of course, I still kept up with practicing my skills, but I needed something new to focus on.

At November 5, my birthday came, turning me to seven. And the first to wish me was...my system.

[Happy Birthday: You are now 7]– Spirit increased by 20

It could've been a bit more upbeat but hey, I appreciated it alright? Especially the spirit points. Over the last few months, my spirit grew by 50 points in total, without adding my own system points. So perhaps spirit increases with age plus the use of your power? Logical.

The rest of the day passed as usual for me. My mother seemed more excited about my birthday than me, and I was just happy to see her so thrilled.

Birthdays had lost its shine to me a long time ago, but for my mother this was the first time she will have an opportunity to properly celebrate it, so for her sake I did my best to look as excited about it as her.

We went shopping, had lunch in a restaurant, brought a massive 7 pound cake, and just generally had a lot of fun.

When evening came, our limited guests appeared for my birthday.

Only two people were invited though, Issei and Irina. Also, we had an uninvited guest in the form of Azazel. But we couldn't turn him away now can we?

I was quite satisfied with this arrangement. It was a quiet affair, but I can confidently say that we all enjoyed the evening, and I made sure to shower my mother in compliments for making it happen.

Late in the evening though, we all sat in the living room with full and satisfied tummies, grasping for any topic of conversation. I decided to reveal Issei's status.

"By the way, Azi. What do you know about the red dragon emperor?" I asked casually.

The man looked guarded for an instant before flashing an interested smile. "Why my young friend, I know quite a bit if I do say so myself. Why the sudden interest?"

The man was trying his best to appear calm, but I could pick up the slight tension in his shoulders. Why was he being so defensive?

I shook my head, not caring about his business. I waved at issei, indicating him to reveal the glove. "Issei here, is the new red dragon emperor. As my prime minio–ah, I mean, my good friend...it is my duty to help him."

The news seemed to shock the two adults. Even mother sat up bolt straight.

"Is he now?" The fallen stared at Issei with a newfound interest. "You don't mind if we take a look, do you?"

I'd already taught issei to atleast consistently be able to activate his sacred gear. A gesture from me and a red gauntlet suddenly covered his right hand, with a green emerald light shining from its centre.

"Honey, when did you find this?" Mother asked me as she came to sit beside us.

"A couple of months ago. There was this low-class stray devil who attacked us. Issei unlocked the gear then." I replied.

My mother's eyes widened in alarm before narrowing down at me.

"Why am I hearing this only now?" She asked, not angry but more... sad and disappointed?

I had no idea why they were making such a big deal out of this... was boosted gear more powerful than I realised?

"Ah...you were busy with the devils and exorcists...so I didn't want to disturb you about the boosted gear..." I replied hesitantly, unsure of their reactions.

"Oh love, that's not what I meant." She suddenly gathered me in her arms, hugging me tightly. "Why did you not inform me about the stray devil? You could've been hurt, kael. And I always have time for you, you should know that."

'Ahhh! Now that made sense.' I winced slightly, realising exactly what my mother was worried about.

"It wasn't that big of a deal, mom." I replied, before quickly following as she opened her mouth to retort. "But I promise I'll tell you if anything like this happens again."

My mother tried to give me stern eyes but failed miserably. She then simply sighed, burying my face under her. "You had better remember your promise, young man."

I heard Issei and Irina snickering besides me but I didn't turn. They will pay for that later, oh yes they will.

"The Red Dragon Emperor, the dragon of domination...Ddraig." Azazel muttered, his hands grasping Issei's gauntlet.

Suddenly the emerald lightly started twinkling brightly, and I felt an enormous pressure envelop the room. By the cautious looks on both the former angels, I was willing to bet they did too.

I quickly focused on the glowing red gauntlet.

Holy mother of God...this being was the true monster. He was a tier 9 being, The elder God tier . So what I was looking at right now was at the level of the elder gods of all pantheons. I wondered how a fight between him and Thor will go. Or him vs Zeus.

Damn.

If I ever reach this level, then I'll know for a fact that I stood around the peak of this world, looking down at the rest of the world like roaches at my feet.

How does he feel though, I wondered, being stuck in the hands of a dumb 6 year old mortal. Such a cruel fate for a powerful being. But it told me that even when I stood at the very peak (I definitely will), I should make sure to have a good head on my shoulders. I, for one, would never accept the fate of being a tool in the stands of someone like issei. I'd probably screw all of my users just to be petty and give a last fuck you to god.

Actually, what was stopping it from doing exactly that?

The presence seemed to have disappeared completely after just a few seconds, making the status disappear.

"The Welsh dragon." Azazel intoned. "Said to be equal to some of the strongest gods in the planet. The after-effects of the fight between him and his rival, the Vanishing dragon, were felt by the entire world."

The fallen looked at Issei grimly. "You must be prepared, young man. The white dragon emperor is your rival and will wish to kill you. And as you are now, I have no doubt he will. Let's just say he is already quite strong for his age. Perhaps even in the same league as your friend here." He waved at me.

"Don't worry, Issei-kun." Gabriel smiled reassuringly at seeing the shaking issei. "With all of us helping you train, I'm sure you will learn fast."

"B-but.. I don't want to fight." Issei whined. "I want to learn science and do research!"

I looked at Issei proudly before patting him on the head. "Don't worry, Ise. Irina and I will protect you."

The girl in question beamed at me happily as I included her in our discussion. Poor girl had been looking like a kicked puppy for quite some time now, what with all of us lost in our own thoughts and conversations.

"Yes!" The girl pumped her hands excitedly. "We are the heroes who will save the prince!" She then looked Issei up and down before glancing at me, and then back at him. All her excitement started to melt down slowly. "But..but he is not the prince, kael. You are!" She complained before her eyes glint with reluctant determination. "I guess the heroes also need to save helpless beggars on the road sometimes."

A startled laugh escaped me, along with Azazel's unashamed Snickers. Poor Issei didn't know if he should look angry or embarrassed. He settled on pouting.

"Now now, Irina-chan. Don't be mean." Mother admonished her but her own lips were twitching in amusement.

"I wasn't! I'm just telling the truth! I heard it hurts sometimes but I didn't know what it meant." She then pointed at Issei's red pouting face. "Now I know!"

The laughter ensued again and poor issei finally broke.

"Fine!" Issei snapped, standing up with his red gauntlet raised. "I'll learn how to fight! And study too! And do research! I will do everything and show you all!"

"Yay, you show them Issei." I cheered casually. "I mean us. Show us."

"I believe in you, Issei-kun." My mother nodded with a kind smile.

"Well... I think I can help you with your goal...it's only fair afterall." Azazel spoke with a sneaky little smirk. His eyes looked at Issei like an exotic Pokemon just wanting to be captured.

"Don't worry, Issei-kun!" Irina bellowed. "Exo-egro..urgh...exorchist Irina and her trusty knight Mikael will keep you safe! Yes!"

I looked at the girl critically. "She's a little confused but she's got the spirit. You have nothing to worry about issei."

I can't lose my minion to some stupid rivalry now can I?

The rest of the evening passed in gift-giving. Issei gave me a small diary to write down my 'research work'. It was actually quite a thoughtful gift and I geniunly thanked him. Irina got me homemade sushi and chicken dumplings that her mother (a chef) specially prepared for me. Plus as an apology for not being able to attend my birthday, they'd given me wagyu beef strips (hella expensive).

Suffice to say, it was one of the most tastiest dinner I ate in my life.

I had the least expectations from Azazel but the fallen's gift pleasantly took me by surprise. He gave me three books on demonic magic; Hypnosis magic, Concealment magic, and defensive magical barrier.

Where he got books on demonic magic, I had no idea.

Out of these three, the defensive barrier was what excited me the most. If I had something like this against that dragon tail smack, I probably wouldn't have been almost dead from a single strike.

Gabriel didn't give me any gift but I knew she had one; she was just too shy and uncertain to give it to me in front of everyone. Which seemed stupid to me. I mean even if she just gave me simple cloth or something, I'd be more happy than recieving all of the other gifts combined.

I waved good-bye to our guests by the time sun completely set down. It was time for my mother's birthday present.

She looked nervous as we sat in the now empty living room, a wrapped gift longer than my body layed on her lap.

Just looking at the size and shape of the glittering white box, I already had an idea on what it was.

She took a deep breath and pushed the box towards me. "I cannot think of any other way to give you this. ...Happy birthday, Mikael."

I didn't tear open the gift like I did with others, instead taking my time to slowly and carefully unwrap it. It was a wrong decision though, cause mother started anxiously biting her nails.

I tsked in annoyance. "Mum, relax. Even if it's just an empty box I'll still love it, just cause it's from you."

A smile lit her face up. "It is definitely more than empty air, so I can rest assure that you will like it, yes?"

I laughed aloud, shaking my head. "Sure mom, whatever."

As I opened the unwrapped box, my sight was greeted by a 6 feet long shining metal. I stood transfixed, absolutely shocked at what i was seeing. A luminescent white spear graced my eyes, thin and slick like a regular spear, but it's body was pure white in colour. A stormy blue coloured 10 inch long blade was fixed on its top, and even from above I could see it's razor sharp edges glinting like a rhodium in the dark.

'observe'

[𝗨𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 (𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻)]

I swiped away the stupid info. How dare the system place this majestic weapon in 'common' category. Especially something my mother created! Because let me tell you one thing:

It was beautiful.

"...Wow." was the only word that escape me as I traced my finger along its smooth body. With anticipation beating in my chest, I grasped the spear's at the middle and hefted it up. I could instantly feel the difference in weight. The thing was heavy. Not heavy as in '1-2 kgs' heavy, but atleast '10-15 times the weight of an average spear' heavy. My previous weapon weighed around 3 kgs. This one, was most certainly above 30 kgs.

And it felt absolutely 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 in my hands as I twirled the 6 feets monstrosity in the air. The white body became a blur as my hands expertly spun it in place, while it's blade created a wheel of bluish light around the white disk.

"Do you like it?" My mother's expectant yet anxious voice reached me. "I wished to give you a proper weapon for a long time, the normal spears are simply unsuited for you. It took me a while to create it exactly as I envisioned it, and I couldn't quite imagine the weapon in your favourite shade of white and stormy blue, but I hope you still like it."

"I love it." I stopped spinning my new weapon, and slammed it down on the floor. What I did not expect, but should have, were the large crack-marks my 35 kg weapon created on our tiled floor.

"Oops?" I winced, glancing at my mother.

She sighed in exasperation, but I can see the pleased smile tugging on her relieved face.

I layed the spear down on the sofa, and approached my mother.

Without any preamble, I bent down and hugged her tightly. "Thank you, mum. Truly thank you. For everything."

Her arms enveloped around me as she laughed before replying teasingly. "Two hugs in a single day? My, I think you are starting to fall for me, dear."

"Way ahead of you, mother. I fell for you seven years ago."

She laughed, rubbing her chin to my head affectionately before tightening her arms around me. "Oh I love you so much, you sweet silly child."

"Love you too, mom." I replied honestly, without any hesitance.

Why did it always feel difficult to say these three words to my parents in my previous life? Why did they ashamed me? Made me cringe.. Made me hesitate... The joy these simple words could bring was truly unfathomable. I could see this now on my mother's face. The sheer happiness and joy that spread through her, the aura of warmth that enveloped me. I could feel it.

I promised to myself that this won't be the last time I said those words. I promised that this won't be some rare words i spoke once in a year. No, my mother deserves all the love from me, and if these three simple words could brighten my mother's whole day, then it was my solemn duty to proclaim my love everyday.

"I love you." I murmured in her ears.

I don't know when we fell asleep, but the next time i opened my eyes, it was to see a bright new day, with me and my mother entwined upon the couch.

I didn't know it then, but these moments would keep me company in the darkest of times.

AN: A little shorter than usual cause most of my time went on editing this thing, which has been a massive pain in my ass. I've been having a lot of troubles with capitalising 'i's especially Issei's name. Hell, I've been having a lot of trouble ridding the errors this app forms. I edit the chapter, then come back to see all the errors in place back again.

I don't know what the problem is, but I'm thinking of posting my chaps on some other sites as well; like webnovel or something...to see if the problem is from my side or the app's. Maybe it's cause I'm using phone version.

So if you see any errors pls point them out, I'll quickly edit them out.

Anyway, how was the chapter? The longinus won't be as much of game-breakers in this fic as they normally are. Everything's got a limit and power-cap (It's a gamer fic, I have to quantify them), hopefully this isn't a turn-off for anyone.

Bearticguy7: He won't be forming a team for quite a bit (He'll be too strong) but when he does there'll definitely be those he has rescued or feel true loyalty for him. Creation is going to be a big aspect of the story later on, but remember; He's gonna leave for Olympus very soon so won't be getting too much chance to explore the world. I'll be probably add some subplot like that later on though, so don't worry.

Lord Shiva: If you mean Dxd canon then no, he'll be hell of a lot stronger than a satan...but I have some very interesting plots for it to not be boring so it'll for sure hit some sweet spots.

EvsVsz: He won't be exploring his demonic power very deeply for some time, but when he does, I'll definitely add some demonic aspect to him don't worry. Thanks for your suggestions, I'll keep them in mind when I do write that plot.

nirmtheworm14: Dude, don't feel sorry for reviewing multiple times. In fact, I urge you to keep continuing, they help a ton. Anyway I hope this chapter was better. And yeah, his sexual life will be explore in depth (wink) once he hits puberty so you'll be seeing quite some action.

rotam: Hopefully this was a better experience. Let me know if you prefer this one or the previous one.

juantu1: No, not yet. Brave saints hasn't even been created yet. It happens only after the peace treaty, and our mc will definitely have a hand in their creation. Plus even if dulio was an angel, he wouldn't be tier 9, but tier 6. He's a 10-winged seraph and only gets 12 wings when his balance breaker is activated (that's when he'll be tier 7). He may have stalled crom and for that his spirit (raw power) will be in tier 9 but not his base self.

Well that's it. Pls follow and review cause you wouldn't want to miss the next arc.

There's just one more chapter left in Japan before he goes to America, so be tuned!
