Hades
A boy who looked like Ron, led the first years up to the Gryffindor common room. Harry Potter and his friend were close behind Hades, Artemis and Ares. Zeus tried to keep his distance. The boy (Percy) faced a portrait of a woman and spoke the password; Caput Draconis. Hades was first inside. It was a round, spacious room with scarlet and gold hangings and a lion over the hearth. He raced over to the fireplace and his shoulders slumped. Hestia wasn't there. He supposed that someone had to keep Olympus running! Most of the first years had settled on the red sofas. Hades joined Zeus reluctantly. Harry and Ron also sat there.
"I hope you don't mind me asking," Harry started (directing the question at Hades) "but why are you named after the Greek Gods?"
"Our parents worshiped the Gods like a religion. They thought it would be good luck if they named us all after them." Hades made up on the spot.
"And Black." Ron said excitedly," are you related to the Sirius Black?"
Hades almost laughed to himself. 'No' he thought, 'why would I be related to my son?'
"No, Zeus Poseidon and I had the same surname... but we never knew it. Our parents died when we were young. We chose our identities."
Ron turned sheepish and Harry looked like he could sympathise. The only thing that was really on Hades' mind was how relieved he was that Demeter wouldn't be allowed to sit next to him at breakfast and lecture him about the importance of cereal.
Over by the bookcase, Ares had made his way into the 'I gloat about everything I've ever done' crowd. This consisted of all of the girls who fawned over every romantic thing invented and the boys who often put their non-existent assets into everyone's brains and tried to flirt with people even though they were (supposedly) only eleven. For once Hades was relieved that Artemis was in this vicinity. She started to slap Ares whenever the 'crowd' was distracted. She had already started a girls only group, who would've almost made Thalia Grace jealous.
"I'm sorry, but I need to go and check on my irresponsible cousins," she told her new-found friends.
"Hey Artemis."
Hades supposed that the magic of turning the thousands of years old Gods to 11, also affected their choice of speech. Zeus wasn't the most talented when it came to thinking of his daughter as his cousin.
"Hello Zeus. Hades. I see that you are now inferior to me." She smirked and strutted away. How Apollo could live with it, Hades would never understand. He also wondered why Apollo was put in Ravenclaw seeing as- if that was possible- he had less intellect than Ares. At least Ares could plan out a plot to cause the biggest war in history!
Apollo
Apollo had absolutely no idea why the hat had put him in Ravenclaw. All it had said was; Music. Ukulele. Prophecies. Hmm, you don't care what happens to anyone else apart from your sister, you have no ambition and no bravery whatsoever. Quite clever. Never mind, RAVENCLAW!
He could understand why Hephaestus would be in that house; he was the God of engineers of course! Why would he be in any other house!?
Athena was wisdom herself! She was Ravenclaw.
But Apollo could barely get into the dorms themselves! The doorknob was shaped as an eagle and it kept spouting random philosophical questions before you could go into the rooms themselves! He supposed that each time he went near the door, Athena would have to be there.
The dorms were serene, with the ceiling like the one in the Great Hall, glittering with the constellations. The walls also reflected the stars. Apollo spotted... Corvus. The crow. Before he could begin to tear up about Koronis, Athena walked over and punched him in the arm.
"Nice surname." She teased. Apollo knew what she meant.
'Why does my sister get all of the references?' He thought. While his sister scouted through the woods like a good little wild thing, Apollo sat in his palace of the sun while listening to podcasts, watching HephaestusTV and talking to the Nine Muses! He couldn't find anything to do with Woods! [AN: Apart from Daphne]
The head of Ravenclaw (Chester) called everyone to attention.
"First years, I would like you to go to your dorms and settle down. Lessons start after the weekend and I need you to be ready for your first night in Hogwarts. If anything is wrong, come to me and I will try to sort it out. Goodnight!"
Apollo wandered to dorm seven. His dorm. It may have just been by coincidence, but seven was his lucky number and maybe, just maybe, that was sign from the fates. A sign of good luck. He highly doubted it.
After settling down on one of the beds, he looked into his trunk. It seemed like everyone else's apart from the fact that it had the initials A.W on the front. After everyone else had lumbered into the room like they had no means to stay up much longer, Apollo changed and fell asleep almost straight away, hoping for a dreamless nap. Or at least no demigod dreams. Soon enough, he was deep into the realm of Hypnos.
