After the game Brittany leads Lio out of the stadium and follows the boys after they made another quick stop at the shop all of them buying a hoodie and beanie, Brittany turns to Lio after they piled into the cab Puck hailed and smiles slightly. ''Where do you want to eat pa?''
Lio looks around at the boys and shrugs his shoulders chuckling. ''I am kinda craving burgers and fries.''
''I know the perfect place papa Lo.'' Puck tells him laughing, he turns to the cab driver giving him the name of the restaurant and turns back to the group he calls his family. ''Eat there or take our order back to the loft and also order something for the girls?''
Brittany raises an eyebrow and chuckles. ''San and Q will both cut us a new one as soon as they find out that we went there without them, you know how much they love their burgers.''
Puck nods his head and snickers. ''If those burgers turn into people, our asses will be single B.''
Brittany shakes her head as everyone burst out laughing and chuckles. ''Nah I don't think they will drop our asses that fast, if breadsticks turn into a woman my ass will land on the curbs tho.''
Lio laughs patting her back and hums. ''I am sure about that B.'' He turns to Puck laughing and winks. ''You will be single the second bacon turns into a boy Noah.''
Brittany shakes her head laughing and rolls her eyes. ''I know Q is craving chocolate and pickles the most, please pray for me that San won't start craving breadsticks.''
''You are fucked if she does B.'' Henry exclaims snickering, Brittany nods her head in agreement and chuckles.
''Well yeah kinda but I can always use my good bond with the manager after buying a lot of barrel wheels full of sticks during high school and ask the recipe to make it myself.''
''How much money did you spend on those barrel wheels B?'' Mike asks in amusement as the boys snicker, Brittany shrugs her shoulders and laughs.
''I don't know, she got one our first Christmas we celebrated together and one the day she turned eighteen but in between and every time we had a fight I drove past him and ordered a bunch because I knew that she would hear me out the second she had her sticks.''
Puck laughs and nods his head. ''I think you were the only teen who was allowed to call Jeff by his first name B.''
Brittany nods her head in agreement and snickers. ''Yeah I know but after helping him fix his car and giving him a friendly price even though Burt would have asked a fortune to fix his old beetle he also gave me a discount on the sticks.''
''The love of my daughter definitely intensifies as soon as someone gives her sticks.'' Lio agrees chuckling, he turns to Brittany and smirks. ''She already loved you way before your first Christmas together, but the day you came in with that damn barrel wheel you could just see her heart fly over to you.''
Brittany laughs leaning forward to pay the driver as soon as he stops in front of the restaurant and smiles. ''Thanks, we will walk from here.'' She slides out of the car after the boys all jumped out and snickers as Puck immediately sprints into the restaurant exclaiming that he needs bacon, she turns to Lio and rolls her eyes. ''Q infected him with her love for bacon.''
Lio laughs wrapping an arm around her waist and leads her into the restaurant. ''Looks like it, what do you want mija?''
''You are not paying pa, it's on me and the boys today.'' Brittany immediately replies pulling her wallet out of her pocket, she looks up at the menu and smiles as the cashier turns to her after the boys all ordered for themselves and their partners. ''Hi can I get two bacon cheddar burgers and a bacon cheese fries please?''
She holds out her credit card after Lio ordered for himself, Maribel and for her mom and nods her head as the cashier tells her the price with slightly widened eyes. She takes her card back signing the bill and steps back glancing at the boys as she hears them snicker. ''Shut up.''
''Girl just fell in love the second she noticed you have money B.'' Mike exclaims laughing.
''Girl can rid of that thought quickly.'' Brittany murmurs rolling her eyes, she pulls Puck slightly in front of her as she sees her looking over at her quite often while she talks with a colleague and sighs. ''I am not looking forward to San's reaction now that she is pregnant.''
''She will cut a bitch.'' Puck murmurs laughing softly, he turns his head to look at her and bites his lip. ''And she is coming over.''
''Oh no.'' Brittany grumbles softly, Lio slides beside her and chuckles.
''Hopefully she gets the hint with all of us standing here.''
''Hi.'' The girls murmurs shyly looking at the group of boys surrounding the blonde who captured her interest.
''Or not.'' Lio murmurs rolling his eyes, Brittany sighs looking at the girl and smiles kindly.
''Hi is there something wrong with our order?'' She asks ignoring the obvious flirty smile hearing the boys snicker, the girl shakes her head and smiles shyly.
''Oh no it's all good they are currently working on your order.''
''Alright, thank you.'' Brittany replies, she raises an eyebrow as she continues standing in front of her slightly inching closer and takes a small step back. ''Can I help you with something else?''
''Well this may sound weird seeing we never talked before, but could I get your number?''
Lio's eyebrows raise in surprise at the obvious girl and shakes his head in amusement glancing at his future daughter in law curious how she will react, Brittany shakes her head looking at the girl and sighs. ''Look I am flattered but not interested at all.''
She runs her left hand through her hair showing the girl her engagement ring and smiles slightly shaking her head as she opens her mouth to say something. ''Look I am not trying to be harsh here, but there is only one person on this planet carrying my heart and that is my fiance.''
She bites her lip as she sees the girl blush bright red and leans back against the wall as she hurriedly walks away, she holds her hand up and glares at the boys. ''No word.'' She tells them, Lio turns to her and smiles slightly.
''You did good mija.''
''You would kick my ass if I would react on her flirting pa.'' Brittany tells him snickering.
''Well duh, but you do know that your heart is with two people right now right?''
''Yeah I know pa, but I rather not tell a complete stranger that San is pregnant.'' Brittany explains shrugging.
''Wise choice B because I think I saw her during one of my classes at UCLA, she knows Santana.'' Mike tells her rolling his eyes, Brittany hums softly and chuckles.
''Exactly because of that, San will graduate soon but I don't want to be the reason she is stressed at school because of some chick giving her hell.'' She looks at the boys as their order number gets called through and sighs. ''Can you guys please go and check the bag for a phone number?'' She smiles gratefully as Henry and Sam immediately nod their heads and walks out of the restaurant knowing Lio, Puck and Mike will follow.
Puck turns to look at her and raises an eyebrow. ''Think the girls, mami and mom are back?'' Brittany shrugs her shoulders pulling out her phone and opens the online reservation she made for them, she smiles slightly as she sees that they checked out an hour ago and nods her head.
''Yeah they checked out an hour ago.''
''You can see that on your phone?'' Mike asks curiously, Brittany nods her head and laughs.
''Yeah I made the reservation with my email and San has access to it.''
''Good call on us checking the bag B.'' Henry exclaims as he walks out of the restaurant with Sam, Sam nods his head in agreement and chuckles.
''She dropped her number on the bill, we asked for another one and threw that one away.''
Brittany takes one of the bags from him and sighs softly. ''Thanks guys.'' She nods her head to the other side of the street and chuckles. ''Let's go.''
Fifteen minutes later.
After walking through different alleys and joking around, Brittany follows the boys up the stairs with Lio right beside her and laughs as Puck pushes Sam against the loft door. ''Don't use Sam to know Noah.'' She tells him shaking her head.
''He was in the way.'' Puck exclaims snickering, Lio shakes his head and laughs loudly.
''God you all are still as crazy as you were back in high school.''
''That will never change pa.'' Brittany tells him snickering as she follows the boys into the loft after Maribel opened the door, she leans down kissing her cheek and winks. ''Hey ma, enjoyed the spa?''
''It was amazing mija, you even booked different treatments for all of us.'' Maribel exclaims smiling happily, Brittany hums walking into the living room dropping a kiss on all the girls heads and leans against the couch behind her fiance leaning down to peck her on the lips as she looks up at her.
''Well yeah everything for my family.'' Brittany murmurs looking at all the relaxed smiles on the girls faces, she reaches out running her hand over Q's bump and smiles slightly. ''I knew Q and San would appreciate a bit of mommy to be pampering, Cedes and T would love a good foot massage and you and mom would love a complete relaxing massage so I booked just that.''
''It was amazing honey.'' Susan murmurs after taking a sip of her wine, Brittany chuckles walking around the couch and kisses her cheek.
''Yeah I can see that mom, you are close to falling asleep.'' She smiles slightly as Puck holds one of the bags with food out for them and turns to Santana. ''Burger babe?''
Santana immediately sits up moaning softly at the smell and nods her head. ''God you are spoiling us mi amor.'' She murmurs softly as she takes her burger out of her hands, Brittany chuckles taking out her own burger and grabs the fries she ordered for them to share. She holds the bag out for her mother and winks.
''Dig in before you fall asleep mom.'' She turns to Santana and kisses her head as everyone thanks her softly. ''Dig in babe.''
''Did you all..'' Quinn starts.
''Order the burger well done?'' Brittany asks chuckling, she nods her head and smiles. ''All burgers are well done.''
''Awesome.'' Quinn breaths out taking a huge bite, Brittany shakes her head laughing softly and leans back taking the fry Santana offers her. ''Thanks love.'' She murmurs softly.
Santana smiles happily munching on her own fry and cuddles into her side, Puck looks around laughing softly as he sees everyone enjoying their food and turns to his best friend smiling. ''I think we made the right decision B.''
Brittany nods her head in agreement and laughs. ''We sure did Puck.'' She wraps her arm around Santana placing her hand on her invisible bump and runs her thumb over her belly button.
''Now that we are all together again, let's talk a bit.'' Maribel announces after whispering with Susan, she laughs as everyone turns to her in confusion and looks at her daughter and future daughter in law. ''Wedding talk.'' She tells them.
Brittany swallows the bite she just took and tilts her head. ''What about it ma?''
Santana giggles as she sees her mami rolling her eyes and nudges her fiance. ''I think they want to know the date babe.''
''Oh.'' Brittany murmurs smiling sheepishly, Santana laughs and turns to the group.
''We would like our little one to be there with us and I want to fit in my dress, so we both agreed on 19 September.''
Brittany nods her head in agreement and glances at her with a small loving smile. ''That is also the day we met.'' She chuckles as everyone coos and takes a sip of her beer, she places her empty food container down and looks around at the group. ''We will plan more soon but there is one thing I want to do before.''
''What is it honey?'' Susan asks tilting her head in confusion as she sees her sad smile.
Brittany bites her lip intertwining her hand with Santana's and gulps thickly knowing she doesn't know it yet either. ''I want to visit dad.'' She runs a hand through her hair as she sees everyone look at her in shock and sighs sadly. ''He sadly can't walk me down the aisle but as weird as it sounds, I kinda want to introduce San to him.''
''That doesn't sound weird at all mi amor.'' Santana whispers softly, she intertwines their hands and lifts them up to her lips kissing the back of Brittany's hand. ''I would love to visit him.''
''When do you want to go honey?'' Susan asks smiling sadly.
''Next weekend ma, Mike and T will run the studio that day and it's the only weekend San has off, the weekend after she has that meeting with Alicia.'' Brittany tells her softly, she leans back against the couch pulling Santana in her arms and smiles sadly locking eyes with their parents. ''I would love it if you, Mari and Lio would join us.''
''Only the two of you?'' Maribel asks smiling lovingly, Brittany slowly nods her head and sighs.
''Yeah well us, Q and Noah.'' She tells her softly. ''As much as I love our group, during moments like this it gives me a bigger possibility to flee.''
''Since the beginning of high school the four of you.'' Sam points at the four friends sitting on the couch. ''Have a much greater bond, we are all friends but you all are more like family and some things are better done with family and we completely understand B.''
''Yeah girl, no need to feel sorry we all understand.'' Mercedes adds with a loving smile.
Lio stands up walking over to Brittany and kisses her head after kissing his daughters head. ''We will be there B.''
''We will all book a hotel room near, don't plan anything for that weekend honey because you need a complete free schedule.'' Susan adds as she walks over to her daughter, she kisses her forehead and cups her cheek smiling lovingly. ''It will be hard but also so worth it sweetheart, I am so proud to see that you are finally allowing yourself to visit him.''
''I can't always keep running away from it mom.'' Brittany murmurs softly with a sad smile, she reaches up tapping the necklace her dad gave her after the first dance competition she won and gulps thickly. ''I know he is looking down on us and is proud as hell, he also knows what is going on in my life but saying yes to forever with the love of my life without visiting him just feels wrong.''
''You don't have to explain sweetheart, I completely understand.'' Susan tells her softly, she kisses her head once again and bites her lip. ''You also gave me the perfect reason to give you this.'' She murmurs softly, she holds her hand out asking Maribel for her purse and takes it thanking her softly.
She sits down on the table after clearing it and rummages through her purse, she takes the small velvet box out of the hidden pocket and holds it up for her daughter. ''I walked around with it for years but didn't find the right time to give you it, I knew you would appreciate it but that you wouldn't really catch up on the meaning behind it.'' She tells her softly.
Brittany frowns in confusion slowly taking the box from her and leans back against her fiance as she feels her arms wrap around her waist, she flicks it open with her pointer finger and looks at the necklace.
Susan reaches out tapping the heart pendant and bites her lip. ''Turn it around honey.''
Brittany reaches out turning the heart pendant around and gasps softly as she sees three fingerprints imprinted on it with a slightly faded old family picture, she runs her thumb over her dads name and sniffles. ''Mom.'' She chokes out.
''That was the last picture we took together and thanks to all of our hospital files I also had access to our fingerprints.'' Susan tells her softly tears filling her eyes as she sees the emotions on her face. ''Your dad is so, so proud of you Britt-bear and if he was with us right now we could see that brilliant smile on his face and not just on old pictures.''
Brittany reaches up to pinch the bridge of her nose to stop the tears and shakes her head as they still stream down her cheeks, she leans forward holding onto the necklace and tightly hugs her mother. ''I love it mom, thank you.'' She whispers softly.
Santana sniffles softly her fiance's emotions always getting to her and slowly runs her hand up her back as she hears her choke out a sob, she wipes away her own tears and looks around at their family noticing everyone look at the two blondes tears clear in their eyes.
Susan pulls out of the hug cupping her daughters cheek and wipes away her tears. ''The day you walk down the aisle you will carry him with you, he might not be able to walk you down in person but he will always be near you sweetheart.''
Brittany sniffles allowing her to put the necklace on and kisses her cheek. ''Thank you.'' She breaths out softly, she wipes away her tears and gulps reaching up her neck to touch the necklace. ''I love it.''
''You are so, so welcome sweetheart.'' Susan murmurs softly, she looks at Santana and smiles lovingly. ''Dad will love San just as much as I love her honey, he knows she is the one for you.''
''I am sure he does.'' Brittany murmurs softly voice filled with tears as she intertwines her hand with her fiance's, she runs her thumb over the back of her hand and smiles sadly. ''He will also love our little bean.''
Susan laughs tearfully and nods her head. ''He sure will honey, if he was here you wouldn't even have the chance to spend time with your little bean because he would have him or her on his arm the whole time.''
''Little bean will love all the bedtime stories you will tell him or her about your dad mi amor.'' Santana murmurs softly as she pulls Brittany in her arms, she kisses her shoulder softly and smiles lovingly. ''Little bean will grow up just like you because I am sure you will do the same your dad did, I might need to hold you back as soon as our little one has a game or a contest because you would be jumping on that stage in pride.''
Brittany laughs softly as she cuddles into her and hums. ''Yeah I think I will love.''
Susan smiles lovingly watching the two of them cuddle on the couch her daughters hand coming up to cover the non visible bump again and turns to look at her best friends. ''They will be more than alright.''
''They sure will be Susan, the two of them against the world.'' Maribel agrees.
''The four of them mi amor.'' Lio corrects softly, he nods his head to the couch as he sees Puck and Quinn both scoot closer to their best friends the four of them talking about their future and smiles lovingly. ''The four of them share such a great bond that nobody can break, they are becoming parents together and I am sure it won't take long before Puck goes down on one knee.''
