Season one case fic. Sam is mourning and getting used to hunting again, and he worries that he can't do a good enough job watching Dean's back, especially since they're chasing something with a penchant for decapitation.

Can Sam and John make peace and take care of little Dean together. We'll also see Jim, Bobby, and Caleb.

Sam wakes up one morning to find that Dean has disappeared. He soon realizes he will have to undergo a veritable fairy-tale quest to find his brothers and the tasks he is given are designed to be failed. Set in early season 5.

This is a continuation to "Stepping into the light of fire". It is revised and I hope better as a result. Thank you for your private messages. The story is like a Supernatural soap opera.
