Bonus Chapter 2: Memories and Unexpected Surprise.
Meanwhile, back in Sonic Prime's Dimension...
More than a few days passed since Sonic Prime's sudden transportation and Kinomoto Sakura, and Kero-Chan were still waiting for the blue hedgehog's return but grew so worried that they decided to inform their friends of the situation. Tomoyo and Shadow Prime arrived and had agreed to help find the Chaos Emeralds to try and rescue him themselves. But when they did and attempted Chaos Control, the portal fizzed out and the only thing being able to enter was a photoframe of Sakura-Chan, Sonic Prime and everyone else which disappeared.
"What is happening?" Tomoyo asked, worriedly.
"I don't understand. Why can't we enter the portal?" Sakura-Chan asked, shocked.
"Hmm...there seems to be a disturbance which is preventing us from even entering the portal like the last time. I can only guess that Sonic is trapped within the dimension I managed to pick up on, but whether or not he managed to regain control of the Rainbow Gem within his heart, something is blocking our way and unless he finds the Chaos Emeralds wherever he is right now, he's trapped." Shadow Prime surmised with a scorn expression on his face, folding his arms in deep thought.
"Hoe!? You mean Onii-Chan can't get back home?" The shocked young Cardcaptor exclaimed in dismay.
"Hai, Sakura-Chan. In the dimension he could be in, unless we or he finds whoever or whatever has caused him to accidentally use the Rainbow Gem, perhaps by the nightmare he had, he will have to find that world's version of the Chaos Emeralds." Kero-Chan said grimly. "My biggest concern is Sonic-Kun is trapped in a world where the Emeralds don't even exist."
"BangÅ..." Sakura-Chan whispered in dismay, tears beginning to form in her eyes. "So that means...We'll never see Onii-Chan ever again?"
"We can't even retrieve anything back from the world Sonic is in." Shadow Prime added, with a frustrated sigh. "Whoever is behind this certainly has targeted Sonic."
"But, Metallix is gone. Sonic-Kun defeated him with the help of Sakura-Chan." Tomoyo pointed out, worriedly. "Who would be after him, if the Phantom Ruby is destroyed?"
"Yes, Sonic did destroy it when he defeated Metallix. For now, we will have to hold onto the hope that he can return and that whatever world he's in, he'll be able to find the Chaos Emeralds there." Shadow nodded in agreement.
Tomoyo, who had also become good friends with Sonic Prime looked worriedly at her best friend before going over to Sakura-Chan who was still in silent tears, and despite that what Shadow just said did give her a little bit of hope, she still couldn't help but fear for the absolute worse. The dark-haired girl gently pulled her into a comforting embrace. "He'll come back. I know he will."
"Tomoyo-Chan..." Sakura-Chan sniffled, burying her face into Tomoyo's chest as she hugged her back. Just when she finally had been reunited with the blue hedgehog who became her friend and new older-brother since the day she saved him from drowning, and now he was living with her as part of the Kinomoto family, whatever nightmare he had upsetted him so much that he unknowingly transported hismself into a world where he can't get home unless that dimension's Chaos Emeralds are found.
Tomoyo sighed as she wished there was something that could be done, then had idea. "I know! Why don't we send him a letter to let him know we're worried? That way, we can at least let him know that we're okay."
"Hoe?" Sakura-Chan blinked as she, Kero-Chan, and Shadow Prime looked at her in confusion.
Once she explained what she meant however, hope began to fill up the young Cardcaptor's expression and she nodded, which gave her at least some comfort.
Back in Sailor Moon's Dimension-In Mazuri...
Having just left the village and remembered that they still had to find the Chaos Emerald located near the Chao Colony(the Guardians kicking themselves for not retrieving it sooner), the Blue Typhoon was now on it's way back to the Colony and passing it while using the two Chaos Emeralds they currently had to locate it's whereabouts. Though as it was getting late, they decided to rest it just near where the location of where they should find it and attempted to relax for the night.
It wasn't much to go by as the Sailor Team, Team Sonic, Cosmo, Sonic Prime and Sakura shared stories of what happened after being separated, the encounters of the giant Heartless, Maleficent and Pete, the mysterious temple and Sonic's battle against E-65 not long after leaving the place, though the teenage hedgehog couldn't stop gazing at his older counterpart whenever the older blue hedgehog looked away slightly, and despite the comfort from earlier, he couldn't stop fearing for the worst of being yelled at again for messing up and letting Eggman go.
But what shocked him and the rest of the Guardians was what Prime and Sakura had gone through as they all let out horrified gasps.
"Maleficent tried to use you by controlling you and your darkness?" Sonic asked incredulously at his older self who nodded.
"With her sleeping magic she used on Terra?" Crash added, horrified as he and Eddie shivered in fear.
Prime nodded, "For some reason, the Rainbow Gem couldn't save me and it took my Soul of Determination to let me regain control before she could even put me to sleep, and to save Sakura."
"I cannot believe it has happened. This is terrible! Maleficent is also a huge risk to the entire galaxy." Cosmo softly exclaimed, worriedly.
"Maleficent is always on our case." Sora sighed, shaking his head in anger and annoyance. "After we defeated her the first time two years ago, we all thought she was toast."
"Yeah, and we still don't know how she came back to life either." Goofy agreed, still confused over this.
"Do you think it was Pete?" Eddie asked, worriedly. That only earned him skeptical looks from the Sailor Team who all raised an eyebrow over the claim.
"Pete, bringing people back to life? Yeah right." Raye scoffed.
Serena nodded in agreement, saying. "He's a bad guy, but there's no way Pete would figure that one out on his own. He's way too dumb to even think of that."
Even Mickey said in agreement. "Even before he first met Maleficent, Pete's never been that smart, especially when it comes to bringing people back to life."
"As I said when I first fought him, if you even call it a battle, he's dumber than he looked." Sonic shrugged with one arm, thinking back of how Pete challenged him to a battle for the Chaos Emerald back in the Galar Region on Earth, and that had been way too easy.
"So, none of you even thought of how she came back to life?" Prime questioned, raising an eyebrow.
The Sailor Team flinched, then looked away in embarrassment as most of them didn't even think of that and it got slightly worse when Sonic, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails, Cream and Cheese, and Cosmo and the rest of the Sailor Team who weren't there at the time gazed at them.
"Uh, no. We were too busy trying to save Disney Castle when she and Pete tried to change history by destroying the Cornerstone of Light." Ash sheepishly replied.
"And we pretty much forgot since we also had Organization XIII to worry about." Mina added, scratching the back of her head.
"Plus all the other problems for the rest of the year and relaxing, and part of this year." Sid continued, fiddling with his claws.
Knuckles groaned, facepalming himself. "That's just great. Which means whatever way that brought that witch back to life might happen again if she's defeated to the point of no return."
"...Now that you mention it, Knuckles, it is very concerning." Kero said seriously, folding his arms which made the Guardians share a glance with each other.
Serena, feeling guilty for letting that thought slip for the past almost two years, then thought of how Bhunivelze brought some of the villains back to life, and how Hojo returned as well, plus the situation that was going on with Apsu and all of the monsters from the past were brought back, similar to how Ultimecia created nightmare replicas of Axel and Darkrai, or even how Xehanort returned, and send his heart back in time more than once and as a young man, traveled back and forth through the timelines to bring forth past-versions of himself into the future.
Her eyes widened as she suddenly thought back of how Xehanort revealed his plans to her, Sakura, Ash, Pikachu, Sora, Riku and Mickey in the Realm of Sleep in their attempts to rescue Darien and Future-Piplup.
Flash-Back: During the events of "Sailor Moon: Dream Drop Distance-Season 13-part 1...
"All this time, it wasn't really just Galaxia that Chaos used to cause all of our previous battles for four years. Queen Beryl, the Doom Phantom, the Heart Snatchers, the Dark Circus, even Maleficent, and not just with Kairi and the Princesses of Heart...everything we've been through and I never even knew about it, not even about the Silver Crystal's origins." Sailor Moon muttered in guilt after she, the very guilt-ridden King Mickey, and horrified Sakura, Ash, Pikachu, Sora, and Riku heard what Xehanort had done.
It all made sense now; Chaos really was the true enemy and now it's back-up power was inside of Xehanort, who was chosen by the dark God of Destruction, like how the Moon Princess herself was chosen by Cosmos, the Goddess of Light and Harmony, who has been killed by her counterpart 5,000 years earlier.
Tears formed in her eyes as she struggled not to cry. "Why!? Why did all of this happen!?"
Xehanort smirked cruely at the young heroes' despair, horror and guilt, unaware that he was just Chaos' pawn despite that the evil enitity had been dead for two years. "Yes, Moon Princess. They were all my doing. While Galaxia freed your enemies from the past, I used the evil fairy to find seven pure lights for me, just as I prepared thirteen vessels and other chosen dark warriors to fill with pure darkness."
End of Flash-Back:
"...Maybe Xehanort traveled back in time and somehow managed to revive her by somehow using the power of Chaos." Serena somberly suggested, causing all of her friends and family to gaze at her in surprise. She sighed in guilt, before getting up from her sitting position and excused herself, heading towards her and Darien's room.
"Huh? Serena?" Sora asked, confused and worriedly.
"Serena..." Darien murmured, feeling the need to cheer his wife up, but had no idea how to do it for once, lowering his gaze in guilt, knowing that she was blaming herself for him sacrificing himself to save her.
Sonic, while having his own guilt problems with what happened today, felt worried and being the hedgehog that he was, quickly got up and hurried to follow his close friend despite some of his friends' protests. Both Prime and Sakura gazed on worriedly before sharing a glance in concern, knowing that their two friends needed some time before they could talk to the Moon Princess and Hero of Mobius.
"Serena's been feeling so down lately, I'm worried that she could end up blaming herself for everything that has happened even after the war was over." Amy Andreson sighed, feeling terrible for her best friend's situation.
"Hey, it's not her fault." Shrek pointed out, sighing. "I thought we'd all finally could catch a very long break after she beaten that Bhunivelze guy."
"I'd say that like Bhunivelze and Solaris, it could be that somebody else doesn't like us and that somebody could very possibly be the Ascians since they're immortal." Buck theorized.
"But Serena does have a good point." Rena stated, lowering her gaze. "Maleficent was used by Xehanort, so it would make sense that Bhunivelze might have something to do with her coming back to life."
"But why her? I thought she was only used to get to Kairi and the other Princesses of Heart." Amy Rose asked.
"Maybe we should talk about that later and figure out how to beat Maleficent without her coming back." Ellie suggested. "Jenova and Yunalasca came back and this was after Bhunivelze, Chaos and Xehanort died."
"Hmmm...You're right. I wasn't here at the time, but there could be some sort of evil force that might be related to all of the ressurrection happening in your world." Prime said seriously. "Either way, there's always evil out there waiting to strike when they get the chance."
"Yeah, we learned that one the hard way." Ash groaned, slumping a little over the reminder, before sighing as he scratched the top of his head. "But that's kind of one of the reasons why I chose to become a member of the Sailor Team in the first place."
"Pika..." Pikachu nodded in agreement.
"I also figured out something else." Crash spoke up, raising up a paw.
Everyone else looked at him in surprise, wondering what he had in mind over the situation...
Only for the blue-eyed possum to point at Prime's feet. "Prime's shoes are pretty different to Sonic's."
An awkward pause.
Aside from Eddie who blinked in realization at this as well, and Sid and Donkey shared a confused glance while Brooke tilted her head, puzzled along with Cosmo, Cream and Cheese, the rest of the Sailor Team, Knuckles, Tails and Amy Rose all groaned in disbelief while falling onto the floor anime-style.
"Hey, they do look like Sonic's shoes, only more cooler styled." Donkey remarked after seeing the same thing.
Prime sweat dropped while gazing at his soap shoes that he has had for a very long time and shrugged. "Oh, you mean my soap shoes? Yeah, I had them since my adventures when I first fought against Shadow."
"Soap Shoes?" Eddie asked, dumbfounded.
"You mean those shoes are made out of soap?" Crash asked, shrugging.
"How can those shoes be made out of soap and you don't slip on them?" Sid asked, very confused.
"That's...not why they're called soap shoes." The blue hedgehog muttered slowly, unable to believe that the three Ice Age animals had no idea about this given how long they have been members of the Sailor Team and Guardians of Light.
"Uh, what?" Donkey asked, just as confused.
"It's the 2G Hi-Speed Shoes for the full name created by Tails, I honestly don't know why he called it the Soap Shoes for short. During the space colony ARK, I used it a lot for grind on the rail in high speed without them getting burned. In addition, they are specifically made for the grinding maneuver, there by ensuring high-speed movements on Grind Rails." Prime explained.
When Sid, Donkey, Crash and Eddie looked cluelessly at Tails, the two-tailed fox shook his head while saying, "He means my other self in his world."
"Oh." Sid realized, while Donkey fully understood with interest.
"Whoa..." Crash and Eddie both breathed in awe.
"That's really cool. It's like you don't need the Flowmotion Power to grind in any kind of rails, huh?" Sora remarked, referring to his, Ash, Sakura, and Serena's ability as well as Riku's since they learned it during their Mark of Mastery Exam.
Prime nodded, and explained. "I remember that when my Tails said, "This Soap Shoes name is based on a company name 'Soap' product the shoes for grind rail and sports thing"."
"Man, I wish I could've met the Tails you knew, Prime. It sounds like such an amazing invention, even though Sonic's Power Shoes never burn out when he grinds the rails himself. They're more amazing than I thought." The eight year old cub remarked, thoroughly amazed as where everyone else.
"I think we should call them Hi-Speed Shoes instead of Soap Shoes. It sounds cooler." Crash suggested.
"Yeah, the Soap Shoes sound lame." Eddie agreed.
Tails and Prime both gave the Possums a dull look before sharing a skeptical glance with an eyebrow raised each.
Just then, light shone above the group as they looked up in surprise, the Guardians, Cosmo and Prime looking up in shock to see strangely a portal appear from nowhere, similar to what Knuckles saw days ago when Prime landed on top of Sonic.
"What's going on?" Ash asked in alarm.
All of the sudden, something small fell out of the portal and hit Sid right in the face which caused the sloth to cry out in in alarm and pain.
"Ow!" Sid yelped, the force of the item's landing made him fall off his seat and crashed onto the floor, much to Brooke's alarm as she hurried to help her boyfriend up.
"Sidney! Are you alright, handsome?" The female sloth asked worriedly, while her true love groaned.
"What was that?" Riku asked, blinking in confusion.
"What's this?" Namine asked, puzzled as she noticed the item that began to slide off of Sid's face, which she quickly caught and held gently in her hands. Seeing that it was a small photoframe. Curious, she turned it around and found, to her surprise, something that she recognized instantly. "Sakura, Prime! Look at this!"
"What is it, Namine?" Sakura asked as she, Prime and everyone else gathered.
"I think this came from Prime's world." The former Nobody of Kairi explained.
"What? From my dimension? How can that be?" The aforementioned blue hedgehog asked, before noticing that the frame itself looked familiar.
"Take a look." The white/blonde haired girl replied, handing the photo over to the older Sonic who took it and true to her words, he found that it did come from his dimension, his new home world which made him gasp softly before holding a small expression of sadness.
In the photo was Sonic Prime himself, with his world's version of Sakura, a bit younger than Sakura of this dimension, alongside Tomoyo and Kero, the counterparts of Madison and the Guardian-Beast, alongside Li's counterpart Syaoran, and even both Meilin's counterpart, Meiling, and Saki-Chan's family, her father and older brother Touya, Tori's counterpart, all smiling as the blue hedgehog had his arm linked around Saki-Chan's waist with him posing with a thumbs up and a wink and his adoptive younger sister copying him with her beautiful, gentle smile.
"Prime, are you okay?" Sakura asked, worriedly as she noticed her friend's expression.
"Namine's right. It's a photo that Saki-Chan, our friends and family and I took a month ago, after I learned to control my Chaos Force." Prime explained, showing the photo to his sister's counterpart with slight hesitation. When the thirteen year old Cardcaptor looked, she gasped in shock and surprise, making everyone else also look and all gaped in surprise as well.
"Wow! It is me! Only she's the same age I was last year!" Sakura exclaimed softly in awe, seeing a mirror-image of her slightly younger self. "There's even Madison and Kero! Li, Dad, and Tori! I mean... Syaoran, Tomoyo and Touya."
"You're right. Just like with Sonic and Prime!" Madison agreed, stunned in amazement.
"Hey, I'm in it too!" Kero stated excitedly upon seeing his own counterpart, identical to him, before he grinned smugly over the looks. "He looks super cool just like me."
But when he noticed Syaoran, he grumbled with an annoyed look. "And that kid's in there too. It would've looked nicer if he wasn't in it and I wasn't secretly hiding in Tomoyo's bag."
"Oh, Kero!" Sakura scolded.
"AH!" Kero then cried out when he saw Meiling and groaned. "And that little girl too! Why is she in there?"
"Kero, that's just mean. Meilin's a cool friend." Lusie scolded as she glared at the Guardian Beast in false form.
The Guardian Beast pouted and folded his arms, protesting. "Even as a teenager now in our reality, she's still a little brat that gets on my nerve. She doesn't even have any magical powers."
"Oh, come on. There are some of us that don't have magic powers either, and we can do a lot of stuff even without Keyblades." Ash pointed out in annoyance, his hands on his hips. "Besides, Meilin helped us out a lot and is cool to hang out with once you get to know her."
"He has a point." Diego agreed with a nod, but Kero still didn't look convinced.
'Some things really don't change in some realities.' Prime thought to himself when he heard this, having been told by Saki-Chan about Kero-Chan and Meiling's constant rivalry in his reality.
"You guys look so happy in there, Prime." Rini remarked, smiling at the very heart-warming scene in the picture, seeing how close both Prime and Saki-Chan looked.
"It's so sweet and adorable." Amy Rose cooed, her eyes sparkling.
"You're right, Rose." Kairi agreed.
"Yeah. We sure are..." Prime smiled sadly, as realization formed in his mind. "The others must've contacted Shadow to find the Chaos Emeralds to try and get me back home."
That surprised the Guardians and Cosmo, with Cream asking with some hope. "So that means they're coming to bring you back, Mr. Prime?"
"Chao, Chao?" Cheese squeaked.
"Hmm...Maybe, but there was something off with the portal. Almost like it can't stay open for long and..." Prime was cut off when something else emerged from the portal, making him and the others look up again and saw something float out from the portal which, as soon as they looked, it closed up on it's own, much to their shock.
"Hey, it's gone!" Brock cried out, while Misty caught what appeared to be a letter in an envelope.
"What's this?" Misty asked, then realization formed and she gave it to the blue hedgehog, saying. "I think this is for you, Prime."
When Prime took the letter and read it, finding that it was in Japanese, he nodded in agreement and after handing his family photo to Sakura who held it carefully, he immediately and carefully opened up the letter and began reading it. What he saw made his heart sink slightly and sighed.
In the letter, it read. "Dear, Onii-Chan. Are you alright? I hope you're safe and looking for a way to come back home. I'm so worried about you, Kero-Chan and I asked Tomoyo-Chan and Shadow-Kun to find the Chaos Emeralds so we would could try and enter the world you accidentally traveled into when you had that awful nightmare. But we can't, because Shadow and Kero-Chan say that there's a disturbance in the portals because something's blocking our way in and stopping you from returning. Shadow-Kun thinks that something or someone's targeting you, but we don't know who's behind it ever since Metallix and the Phantom Ruby are gone.
Kero also said that when you had that nightmare, something happened that made you begin to lose control of the Rainbow Gem, and even if you could control it again, the only way for you to come back is you find the Chaos Emeralds in that world, wherever you're in, and we can't even get the photo or this letter sent to where you are back either. I miss you so much, Onii-Chan, it's been days now since you've been gone, and I wish I could go to that world to bring you home. Please come back safely, I love you.
-Sakura-Saki-Chan."
"I knew it." Prime sighed, disheartened.
"What's wrong?" Diego asked, becoming concerned.
"Even with the Rainbow Gem not being messed up, I'm trapped here unless we find all of the Chaos Emeralds." The blue hedgehog explained, scratching the top of his head. "Saki-Chan and the others asked Shadow and they found the Emeralds there, but all they could do is send the photo and this letter, because something's disturbing the portal they have no idea of what or who."
"What!?" The Guardians and Cosmo all gasped in shock.
"Oh, great!" Manny grumbled, realizing what this meant. "Just when we had all of the Emeralds and the answer right there, not only we have another problem to worry about, Eggman made us lose most of them."
"Just great...Eggman just had to attack us at the wrong time and made Prime's only way back home impossible." Knuckles groaned, face-palming himself.
"Sonic and Serena aren't gonna like this..." Ash muttered worriedly, knowing that both of his friends were going to be blaming themselves for inadvertently delaying Prime's return home even though it all had been Eggman's doing.
Especially Sonic who was already having a hard time as it is.
Prime sighed, blaming himself for causing his own imprisonment as well as causing the Guardians to get attacked by Eggman who ended up forcing Sonic to use Chaos Control, which was distrupted by his own brief loss control of the Rainbow Gem, just like how Rinsler's Corridor of Darkness messed it up as well.
But that left the question on who had sent him here via the nightmares and keeping him trapped in this dimension.
Meanwhile, Sonic had followed Serena into the latter's bedroom and peered through the door, seeing his friend sitting on her bed with a guilt-ridden expression, making him even more worried.
"What's wrong? Why are you sad?" The teenage blue hedgehog asked as he approached with a concerned shrug, feeling deja vu emerge.
"I haven't done much since this all thing started. All I've been doing is messing up and not protect our friends." The sixteen year old Moon Princess began, trying hard not to cry even as tears began to leak in her eyes. "I didn't even about how Maleficent came back to life, or how to stop it from happening again even though I don't like killing, but a lot of times there's not much of a choice. Some leader I make."
Sonic lowered his gaze, feeling his heart sank. Like him, his close friend had been feeling down again, and this was like how they would talk about their problems on their first adventure together and how he had cheered her up and while he felt terrible with the situation going on now, he felt worse when Serena was blaming herself over his mistake in letting Eggman go. Then again, slips like this always happen despite what Prime said and he just hoped that they would learn from this in the future.
"Hey, now. No tears." Sonic gently comforted his friend, taking a seat next to Serena, and carefully wiped away a tear from her eye with his finger.
Still feeling awful, Serena couldn't help but softly smile at her friend's comfort, gazing at the blue hedgehog who, like with Shrek, Ash and Sora, had become a close brother to her, like how Sakura, Fiona, Tifa, Aerith, Amy, Raye, Lita and Mina, and even Rini and Lusie despite the two being her daughter and granddaughter from the future were all like her sisters, just like her real brother Sammy and her real sister from the Moon Kingdom Kaylie despite the two princesses being reborn with new families in the present.
"Thanks, Sonic. Sorry about that. It's been so stressful and crazy ever since Apsu started attacking us with her own army and all that. Same old thing with every new evil." Serena replied.
"I know how that feels, sis'. To tell the truth, I'm feeling bad for everything that's been happening with Eggman, and I've been trying very hard to not make any kind of mistakes." The fifteen year old hero replied, shrugging a little in sadness. "Or like how...how Prime lost everybody but his Sakura back in his world. I'd never forgive myself if that ever happened."
"But it wasn't your fault, and it wasn't Prime's fault either. Eggman obviously just doesn't know when to quit." Serena pointed out, sighing herself. "It's so sad that there are a lot of people in the Realm of Light that want to cause trouble and be evil even without having powers like Xehanort. Beckett was one of them and even that guy was somehow brought back to life and he still wanted to take over Earth."
Sonic sighed as he leaned back a little, using his hands to support him while gazing at the ceiling. "Yeah, it's too bad. On the other hand, some people just don't care about anybody but themselves. Sad reality, isn't it?"
"Yeah...But at least good things did happen, like how we all met in different sort of ways." The Moon Princess sighed, smiling a little again as she gazed at her close friend fondly. "Remember when we first met? Long after you helped me out a little in Scala Ad Caelum?"
"How could I forget?" The blue hedgehog smiled back just as fondly, gazing at his friend in return. "We just told Prime about it the other day. The day you saved me from crash landing after Chaos Control got messed up with that Corridor of Darkness that Rinsler made. Man, we had such crazy adventures back on Earth."
Flash-Backs: During the events of "Sailor Moon and Sonic: Galar Conquest-Season 21"...
First Meeting...
Sonic was screaming as he fell, not sure how he ended up from Eggman's Base with Amy, Tails and Knuckles to falling from the sky, night still being there and panicked as he knew he was in for another hard and painful landing. Or so he thought.
"I'm coming!" Sailor Moon called out, using the Fly Card to expand the Moon version of the Card's wings to grow on her back and giving her the power to fly once more. She held out her arms hoping to catch the blue hedgehog that she strongly felt was familiar to her, and deep within her heart sensed that he was a friend to be trusted.
The leader of the Sailor Team successfully caught him and held the startled and stunned younger teen who softly gasped, finding that his landing was softened and she held on before descending for a landing, crouching on her knees while the Fly Card's power eased to return to it's card form, her wings vanishing as she and Sonic panted at the close call, before the two gazed at each other up close for the first time. Their eyes widened as, unbeknownst to each other, recognized each other.
To Sonic, he was seeing the Moon Angelic Princess that was the true Hope of Light of the Universe, only her outfit was different, but her ruby jewels in her hair, the said long blond hair with two buns on her head, and her beautiful face with just as beautiful blue eyes that gazed at his own emerald green eyes back with stunned surprise of her own.
To Sailor Moon, she was seeing the blue hedgehog that was like Mickey, Donald and Goofy, only with five fingers instead of just four, the red and white shoes with the gold buckles, the peach chest, muzzle and arms, his beautiful green eyes and rather handsome and cute face with the long quills on the back of his head, two on his back which she was mindful of, the one who gave her back her Keyblade and encouraged her to not give up before vanishing.
Not to mention they both had the strange dream of seeing each other in Serena's Station of Waking the previous day back in the Fairy-Tale World.
"It's you...!" Sailor Moon and Sonic unexpectedly said at the same time. "You're...Huh? Wait, you remember me?"
Blinking in confusion as they somehow remembered one another despite never meeting personally, the two teenagers sweat dropped a little before they looked rather sheepish.
"Uh, sorry." Sailor Moon muttered, embarrassed. She then asked in confusion. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks a lot." Sonic replied, a bit embarrassed himself, but grateful for being rescued by the beautiful teenage human girl.
"Don't mention it. I can't believe it's really you. You're the guy who helped me out." The Moon Princess replied, smiling softly, then asked. "Why did you do that?"
"Well, aside from a bad guy I was fighting against to keep you safe since I heard a little bit about you from your friend Galaxia, who I met by the way, I don't need a reason to help out other people." The hero of Mobius responded.
Despite the confusion on what he meant and how he knew Galaxia, the way he said it made her feel even more comfortable, knowing that he was definitely one to be trusted. He was much like Mickey, Ash and Sora, in more ways than one.
"Well then, thank you. I'm Sailor Moon, leader of the Sailor Team and one of the leaders of the Guardians of Light. Do you have a name?" Sailor Moon replied and introduced herself.
Sonic smiled back and introduced himself. "Yeah, I got a name. My name is Sonic the Hedgehog, hero of Mobius and leader of Team Sonic and originally the Freedom Fighters."
In the Ukbuut Cave of Galar...
When the Sailor Team, Gloria, and Tails emerged in the cave and were confronted by the Ukbuut that were native of the underground of Galar, they weren't expecting Sonic to appear safe and sound as Tails embraced him, while most of the group were stunned in confusion and bewilderment.
"Hey there, guys. It's okay, these spiders are all friends." Sonic greeted, only to flinch slightly when Sailor Moon, having been worried about him, raced over and picked him up, hugging the blue hedgehog.
"Oh, Sonic! Thank goodness! I thought the giant spiders were gonna eat you by sucking all of your blood! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Sailor Moon wailed, bursting into tears with a mixture of relief, happiness, fear and sorrow, inadvertently squeezing her newest friend in a tight embrace.
"S-Sailor Moon! Please, let me go!" Sonic grunted, feeling like he was being hugged by Amy while feeling touched that his newest friend had been really worried about him, and, frankly, after the scare of being trapped on the spider web earlier before the two Ukbuut that freed him and showed him that these creatures were all vegetarians, he'd been scared himself.
Dealing with the Dynamax-Snorlax...
"Whoa-whoa-AHHHH!" Sonic screamed as he slipped on the giant pear that rolled towards the giant Snorlax's mouth and screamed louder in terror when he fell in along with the humongous fruit...and the giant Pokemon's mouth closed shut with the blue hedgehog trapped inside, much to everyone else's horror.
"SONIC!" Amy Rose screamed in devastation.
"NOOO!" Sailor Moon screamed, devastated.
"SONIC, NO!" Tails wailed.
"Oh no! Sonic!" Ash exclaimed in horror.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed in dismay.
The rest of the group, including Team Rocket on the ground, were all horrified to see Sonic get eaten by the giant Pokemon while Knuckles, distraught and angered, stood over the mouth where his friend had fallen in.
"Hey, you fat giant mutant-panda or whatever you are! Spit Sonic out! He doesn't taste good!" The red echidna demanded furiously. "You can't just eat him!"
Within the mouth, the terrified Sonic was struggling to not get chewed up as he screamed in panic and terror, not having planned this out at all, holding onto the massive tongue for dear life while slowly sliding dangerously closer to the giant throat, scared beyond belief.
"Help me! HEEEELLLLP!" The blue hedgehog screamed, hoping that his friends could hear him.
Then, the effects of the giant pear that strangely had the Snorlax to, as Gloria theorized, Dynamax, the effects were reversed as it somehow jumped before landing hard once again, making the local new-sheep like Pokemon flock to yelp in fear and alarm, before it shrank and transformed back into it's original shape and form, the giant tree and flower field on it's stomach disappearing as Sailor Moon, Ash, Amy Rose, Pikachu, Tails and Knuckles all yelped and blinked as Snorlax was back to normal.
To everyone's relief and surprise, during the reversing process, Sonic emerged halfway out from the mouth, gasping for air, alive and in one piece, panting and coughing.
"Sonic!" Sailor Moon and everyone else exclaimed in surprise, shock and/or huge relief to see him still alive.
"You're alive!" Knuckles exclaimed, bewildered with a sweat drop yet secretly relieved.
"Y-Yeah...Just barely. Can you help me get out, please?" Sonic responded, just as relieved by the miracle that he has survived.
His older friend held out a hand which the blue hedgehog took and was pulled the rest of the way out of the large Pokemon's mouth, and sighed in relief.
"Man, I never wanna go through that ever again. I thought I was a goner for a moment there." The fifteen year old sighed as he and Knuckles jumped off.
"Sonic!" Sailor Moon cried out as she and the others slid off before they and the rest of the group hurried over. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit shaken but I'll be okay." Sonic reassured, smiling softly.
The sixteen year old girl smiled, saying with feeling. "What a relief!"
Facing Butch and Cassidy...
"You know these two clowns?" Sonic asked, sensing a familiarity with both the motto and the duo's team name.
"Like Jessie, James and Meowth, they used to be members of Team Rocket, but these two didn't get fired, still stayed rotten, and the Team Rocket organization changed their name to Rocket X." Sailor Moon explained while glaring at the two bad guys.
"Plus they were Team Rocket's even worse-than-rotten-crooks rivals." Ash added.
"Their motto sounds more lame then Jessie, James and Meowth's." The blue hedgehog remarked dully.
"What's this? Did these say their names were Biff and Cassidy?" Knuckles muttered, bewildered.
"I thought that guy said his name was Barf." Sonic remarked with a smirk, his hands behind his back.
"I keep hearing him say his name was Bark." Sailor Moon commented.
"Like Knuckles and pretty much most other people, I keep hearing Biff." Ash added.
Butch nearly stumbled over in sheer insult and annoyance, before angrily protesting. "The name is Butch! Not Biff, or Barf or Bark! BUTCH!"
That only amused Sonic as he said teasingly, "Yeah, it's definitely Barf. What kind of name is that, anyway?"
"IT'S BUTCH!" Butch shouted at the blue hedgehog.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Keep trying to correct yourself, Blake." Sailor Moon replied sarcastically.
Sonic glanced at Sailor Moon who shrugged and shook her head, saying. "It's a long story."
In the Goof Mansion in Disney Town...
"Ooh, it's not as creepy as the ShinRa Manor or Lavender Tower, but it's spooky and dusty enough." Serena shivered as she and the group wandered into the Mansion that Goofy was to inherit by his late Uncle Goof.
"Y-Yeah, I'll say." Sakura shivered in agreement, and Rena, Gloria, Rini, Lusie, May, Misty, Tiffenie, Sid, Donkey, Crash and Eddie were all in agreement, the two Possums gulping nervously. Everyone else, some of them a little bit uneased, seemed to be cool, calm and collected. Yet no one saw that even Knuckles was wiry of this place.
"Are you sure this place is safe?" Knuckles asked, stay on his guard for anything to jump out on them.
Shrek smirked and teasingly asked the Guardian of the Master Emerald. "Oh, don't tell me you're afraid of bad ghosts?"
The red echidna flinched before glaring at the green Orge, masking his nervousness. "Me? I'm not afraid of anything!"
Just then, a coffin that was up against the wall suddenly opened up to reveal a Mummy poking out, scaring the wits out of those who were already on edge and even startled everyone else. Even Knuckles screamed in fear and Sonic yelped.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelped, not having expected that to happen.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Serena shrieked in terror and hid behind the blue hedgehog along with Amy Rose and Tails, shivering in fear.
"It's okay! It's just Manny the Mummy. Uncle Goof named him a long time ago." Goofy reassured, calmly putting the normal-unmoving Mummy back inside the coffin.
"Manny the Mummy?" Sid blinked, puzzled and amazed as he glanced back and forth between Manny the Mammoth and the Mummy. "I didn't know a Mummy was named after you, Manny."
"Oh, neither did I. I feel very humbled." The aforementioned Mammoth muttered in sarcasm.
"See? There's nothing to be worried about. It was just an old display popping out unexpectedly. It's normal." Sonic reassured his adoptive little brother, self-proclaimed girlfriend and new friend, who had her hands on his shoulders while she still whimpered, seeking out his safety and comfort.
At the Chao Colony of Galar...
Everyone was admiring all of the adorable Chao that strangely lived here on Earth in secret, with Serena getting a personal closer look to one and petting it, making it giggle and squeal in delight and she giggled while Sonic smirked, his hands on his hips.
"They're the sweetest little things I've ever seen. Too adorable." Serena said happily, all ga-ga over the cute creatures that were new to her.
"Chao are the most gentle creatures in all of Mobius, depending on who they bond with. Wild Chao live in Colonies like this and even they can sense who can trust and be friends with." Sonic explained, as this felt like he was in his home planet, making him feel even more eased since reuniting with his best friends.
"You've seen Chao Colonies before, Sonic?" The Moon Princess asked, curiously.
The blue hedgehog smirked. "Sure did. I even have a friend named Cream who has a Chao as her best friend that she named Cheese. They're the cutest duo I've ever met, and her Mom's really nice."
"I wish I could met them. They sound so sweet." Serena stated, smiling warmly.
"I'm sure that someday you will. When we find Mobius, maybe you guys can come and visit. I'll show ya' all of the cool places I've been to." The hero of Mobius offered.
"Really?" She asked, excitedly.
Sonic winked with a thumbs up. "You bet!"
The two then laughed and smiled before sharing a fist-bump at the promise.
Their Heart-to Heart conversation...
Serena, feeling depressed over the situation, had wandered off alone to sit on the grass hill with the stars and full moon out, hugging her knees until Sonic approached, asking what was wrong and she admitted her depression over what was happening lately, and that the previous adventure, one that had Cloud and Tidus being the heroes to save the Realm of Light this time, made her believe that the well-earned peace wasn't peaceful after all.
"I really thought that after Bhunivelze, Chaos and Master Xehanort were defeated, that the Realm of Light was really in peace for a long time. But...everything that's happened lately just keep on coming and coming and now this happened. Megan was right; Peace is really fragile that it can crumble easily." Serena said, feeling so upset and began to tear up.
She tried not to cry, placing her hand over her face in guilt. "Even worse, you, Tails, Rose and Knuckles got involved with us, and even when Rinser and the Brotherhood of Sins are gone, I have a horrible feeling that the Ascians will find out about you guys and try and get the Chaos Emeralds for themselves, or worse, target you to get to me. I'm so sorry, Sonic...It's all my fault. I'm such a lousy successor of Cosmos. You got dragged even into the War against Bhunivelze and Chaos all because of me, and you were risking your life to protect me from Solaris when you didn't have too..."
"Don't cry, Serena. It wasn't your fault." Sonic whispered, feeling awful to see his new close friend cry and blame herself, reaching over to gently wipe away a tear that slid free, making her gaze up at him while lowering her hand. He smiled softly. "Eggman and Solaris were the ones that got me involved into the war you guys were facing, even though Egghead didn't know at the time either. But when I first saw you guys, deep within my heart, I wanted to help you. I wanted to join in your fight to help you to beat Bhunivelze and those guys. What makes me feel bad is that I wasn't allowed to even do that, and I had to focus on keeping Solaris away from you and to save Elise's heart."
Sighing, he scratched the top of his head as he admitted with a look of growing guilt himself. "What I failed to do was prevent you from dying, and it was a miracle that not only I saved Elise and brought her back to life, but Sakura, Ash and Sora managed to somehow have their tears ask Cosmos, your mother, grandmother and father from the Moon Kingdom to bring you back to life too. I didn't know, and I was still busy fighting Solaris, and all I saw was that you closed up Kingdom Hearts and I knew that you stopped his number one Godly Idiol. I'm sorry for not saving you when I should've, Serena."
"Oh, Sonic..." Serena muttered tearfully, then she brought him into a warm embrace which he, surprised at first, returned longingly and the two friends that have quickly bonded since they first met in person leaned each other's arm, the bond they shared growing stronger than ever. "I made that choice to sacrifice myself, because it was the only thing I could do...I was the one who failed to save many that day; Galaxia sacrificing herself, and having to rescue Darien and Kairi while stopping Sora from disappearing, which I still have nightmares of once and a while and I don't want him to disappear. I...I don't want to lose anymore people that I love...!"
"I know what that feels like...You're not alone on that, sis." Sonic replied, closing his eyes as he felt the sibling love towards his friend and felt it coming from her as well. "It's going to be okay. This time, I won't let anything happen to you. Not because you're a Princess or the chosen of Cosmos...but because you're my friend. I want to keep you safe, and make you feel happy."
Serena felt so touched by her friend's words, a friend who had become a new brother in her life. She wanted to protect him too, and let him be just as happy, and the fact that he had made her feel happy made her begint to feel better, her confidence she slowly gained over the years renewed. It was because of Sonic the Hedgehog that she vowed to lead the Sailor Team, the people she loved dearly, to continue to hang with all of the Guardians of Light as possible and now she wanted to add Team Sonic into the family.
"Thank you, Sonic." Serena whispered, smiling tearfully.
"...No problem, Serena." The blue hedgehog whispered back.
The two leaned back, with bright warm smiles revived as the Moon Princess gently gave her new hedgehog brother a gentle kiss on his head, making him blush in embarrassment as the two chuckled, before they let each other got and then gazed at the beautiful night sky with renewed hope and determination, Serena leaning back slightly with her hands supporting her, and Sonic having his hands on his hips, their friendship just as strong.
The final battle against Rinsler...
Sailor Moon, having wished with all of her heart with the Silver Crystal and the Chaos Emeralds to save Sonic after he risked his life to save hers and had been on the brink of dying, with Cosmos' advice and the power restoring him to full strength, now floated beside him as they both had transformed by the combined powers.
She was now Ultimate Sailor Moon, her attire similar to her first basic form, only the shoulder pads were golden like when she was Sailor Cosmos, her fuku skirt was golden, dark blue and red, similar to both her Super Attire and Eternal Form, the back bow red with glittering gold tiny pieces of jewels, styled in a similar fashion of her Super Form, her boots now red with golden linings on the front and back to the heel with the top parts same as her Ultra form, her long glove's long cuffs red and gold with the golden wrist bands replacing the red ones, the front bow similar to Sailor Cosmos's as well with her transformation locket shaped like a Chaos Emerald with a heart and Crescent Moon in the middle with seven rainbow gems surrounding them, her neck-choker red and gold, similar to her Eternal Form as well, her Tiara glittering with rainbow gems on the outside, and her earrings combined with two emeralds hanging below the crescent moon.
Even the pearls on her head were much like in her Sailor Cosmos form, but glowing in light yellow. She had a golden aura surrounding her body which grew out wings like the Fly Card, glowing in beautiful golden light. Her sailor's shoulder pad was cobalt-blue with three golden linings on both sides.
Sonic floated beside her, his fur colour changed from cobalt blue to shining gold which a golden aura also surrounded his body, his three large quills expanding to five and sticking upward above his head, and his eyes changed from Emerald Green to a shining orange-slight red. As many times before in his own adventures through-out three years, he had transformed into Super Sonic.
"Ready to take him down, Sailor Moon?" Super Sonic asked, ready for the final battle.
"I'm ready when you are, Sonic." Ultimate Sailor Moon replied firmly, determined to end this battle and save the Realm of Light once and for all.
The two held hands, combining their powers as they exclaimed together. "Let's do this!"
Ultimate Sailor Moon and Super Sonic then charged straight towards Rinsler-Abomatis, who attempted to stop them, but the combined powerful light of Love and Friendship by the Silver Crystal and Chaos Emeralds blocked the dark energy and even evaporated it, much to his horror, unable to believe what was happening.
"What!? This is impossible!" Rinsler-Abomatis exclaimed.
"You can't beat us, Rinsler! Is that the best you can do?" Super Sonic shouted, as he and Sailor Moon held out free hands to block the attacks with ease.
"We won't let you win, you monster! As long as we have each other and all of our families and friends with us and within our hearts, true love and friendship will always be the real power to drive away cruelty, greed and darkness!" Ultimate Sailor Moon declared, narrowing her eyes with renewed determination, not just because her oldest friends and family had helped her out once more, but her strong friendship and bond with Sonic has given her new hope and strength.
While the Moon Princess summoned her Keyblade which transformed into a new form that resembled to both the Cresent Moon, her Eternal Form's staff and the Chaos Emeralds, she and Super Sonic powered up which spread huge light, much to the amazement of everyone including their friends down below as they watched the display in awe, and to the absolute horror of Rinsler-Abomatis who felt fear strike into his dark, cruel heart.
"MOON..." Ultimate Sailor Moon began chanting.
"...CHAOS..." Super Sonic continued.
"NOVA!" The two heroes shouted, powering up and charging like a huge beam of light, zooming straight into the giant monster's chest as their combined finishing move spread through out his body, causing Rinsler-Abomatis to roar and grunt in pain and sheer agony, feeling his power weakened and his life fading away.
"NO! NO! How can this be!? I cannot...lose to...a mere Moon Child...and an insignificant...blue...Hedgehog!" Rinsler-Abomatis grunted and struggled, just as he began to evaporate by the power of light of the Silver Crystal and Chaos Emeralds, the absolute fear and terror and realization that he is ultimately finished engulfing him. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
As the light engulfed him and spread through out the area, Rinsler-Abomatis vanished without a trace, ultimately destroyed and banished forever. As the light faded when the Guardians of Light, Gloria, the rest of Team Sonic, Leon and the legendary Pokemon, with all of the forced Dnaymaxed-Pokemon in all of Galar shrinking back to their natural shapes and sizes, gazed up in awe and concern, Ultimate Sailor Moon and Super Sonic floated there, the former's Keyblade returning to normal as she and her friend gently descended to the ground, panting in exhaustion but still alive.
They then de-transformed back to normal, with Sonic, with strained strenght he still had, focusing his inner power to ensure the Chaos Emeralds that emerged didn't fly away and scatter across Earth again, managing to keep them around as they gently dropped to the ground. He and Sailor Moon, who felt exhausted but not to the point of dying, gazed at each other with warm smiles, as she nodded tiredly at her newest and dearest friend. The blue hedgehog responded by giving her a tired smirk and a thumbs up.
Around a week or two after returning home to the Fairy Tale World...
Serena and the Sailor Team couldn't believe their eyes as they gazed at the unexpected but very welcoming visitors that came to Duloc, thanks to the new link they and the rest of the Guardians had created for the Fairy-Tale World, Destiny Islands, Disney Castle, Twilight Town, Land of Departure, Radiant Garden, Midgar, the Pokemon World and recently now Mobius, with Sora, Riku, Kairi, Namine, Mickey, Donald and Goofy having come over to help said visitors to arrive.
Team Sonic who smiled warmly and after the surprising and happy greetings, Sonic asked something that was just as surprising.
"Hey. You guys got room for four more Guardians of Light?" Sonic gave them a wink and thumbs up.
While the Sailor Team were bewildered over this request with Tails, Amy Rose, and even Knuckles nodding, Serena, feeling like her world has become better and brighter with new dear friends deciding to spiritually stay and despite her worries, felt that they can hang out together regardless.
"If that's what you wanna do even though it's gonna be dangerous, sure!" Serena nodded happily.
"We're used to facing danger, Serena. We're more than ready." The blue hedgehog reassured. "Those dumb Ascian guys won't even know what hit them."
The Moon Princess smiled, and declared. "In that case, welcome to the Guardians of Light, Team Sonic."
While Sonic's group cheered and so did the Sailor Team even though they would have to inform Master Yen Sid first, Sonic and Serena both leaped into the air and happily shared a high-five, cheering. "YEAH!"
From this day forward, the Guardians of Light had become bigger and more cheerful than ever despite the future dangers that may lie up ahead, but the friendship they all shared along with their new friends, and newest guardians, was burning just as bright and strong as ever before.
End of Flash-Backs:
"I guess life just keeps on going all crazy for us, no matter where we go or what we do." Serena remarked, shrugging as she and Sonic both remembered the good times, the bad times, the scary times, and the emotional times of their first adventure together.
"Yeah, but it's totally worth it. I think the less crazy was when you, me and Shrek saved Far Far Away from Artie's magic-hating old man." The cobalt speedster replied.
"Actually, I think the less crazy adventure I had was when uh..." The Moon Princess trailed off, trying to remember which of her previous adventures were slightly less crazy, before realizing that each and every one of them were just as crazy in different was, and muttered with a sweat drop. "You know what? Never mind. I've lost count."
Sonic chuckled, and gently patted his friend on the back, reassuring. "Don't worry, Serena. I'm sure you'll figure that one out."
Serena smiled warmly at her friend, as the two shared a sibling embrace. "Thanks, Sonic. For that and cheering me up."
"Anytime, sis. Feel free to ask." Sonic replied, and blushed a little when his friend gently kissed him on the head, really glad that Amy Rose wasn't there to see this, or else he'd be squashed flat like a pancake with that hammer of hers. Or worse, Serena being mistaken to dump Darien for her which didn't make sense since the Moon Princess and the Earth Prince were deeply in love and have a family to bond with Rini and Lusie to be born someday in the future. Plus, he...well, he still wasn't certain of his own feelings with his self-proclaimed girlfriend.
Just then, there was a soft knock on the door, making both Serena and Sonic to let go of each other and flinched slightly, looking up to see that it was Amy-Mercury and Tails who looked rather worried. Very worried in fact, making the two quickly become concerned.
"Ames? Tails?" Serena blinked in confused worry.
"What's going on? You guys look like you've seen a ghost or something." Sonic asked, shrugging.
"Serena, Sonic, this is very important. We need to show you something." Amy-Mercury began, slightly guilt-ridden.
"Prime's got a letter from his friends in his world and...it's not good news." Tails added, making the Moon Princess and the hero of Mobius even more worried.
Ten minutes later...
After Serena and Sonic followed Amy and Tails to rejoin the group, they were told of the situation regarding the photo which the two close friends were quite stunned to see that Sakura, Madison and Kero's counterparts were exactly like them alongside Prime, and the letter which made the situation of their current problem even worse.
"WHAT!?" Serena, and Sonic both exclaimed in horror.
"You can't get back home unless we find the rest of the Chaos Emeralds and figure out who's behind the disturbance of the portals?" Sonic asked, feeling his heart sink as his guilt for the situation that has happened became even worse.
"Correct." Prime nodded grimly. "Shadow thinks whoever's caused this might be targeting me, even though there isn't anyone else I know that would do such a thing."
"Maybe it's a new enemy that wants to use the Rainbow Gem and your world's Chaos Emeralds or something?" Serena suggested, gravely worried.
"You know, that does make kind of sense. Every time we think we've beaten the bad guys that come attack us, a new one we've never heard about but know about the Silver Crystal, or Kingdom Hearts or whatever always try to attack us." Ash realized, now that he and the others thought about it for a second.
"But if that's true, why didn't they get the Chaos Emeralds in Prime's world and how could they be making Prime lose control of the Rainbow Gem and send him here to our world?" Sakura pointed out, worriedly.
"Well, whoever it was, it surely has their eyes on Prime. What if they think we're weak or something?" Shira shrugged.
"Maybe it was Apsu?" Eddie suggested, fearfully.
"No way, dude. That lady may be crazy, but she wants to take over our world, not beat Prime." Crash pointed out.
"But we don't know just how powerful Apsu really is." Cosmo stated worriedly, her hands held together. "For all we know, she could manipulate with Space and Time and could be the cause of Sonic Prime to become trapped here."
"But I thought that was Ultimecia's thing since she wanted control the Time Compression." Casey stated, shrugging.
"Maybe it's the Ascians? They're immortal and they can do a lot of bad stuff, and the only way to beat them is the power of light, especially from the Mothercrystal in Hydaelyn." Lusie suggested worriedly.
"I don't think so. The only thing that can counter-attack the Rainbow Gem is the Phantom Ruby, but I destroyed it when I defeated Metallix. Either way, this is very serious." Prime responded.
Sonic lowered his gaze in sheer guilt, his ears drooping as the realization of how much he messed up sank in so deeply he leaned against the wall below the window, feeling uneasy and sick to the stomach. He caused Chaos Control without heeding Prime's warning, he stupidly ran off to investigate what he thought was Infinite which was impossible, and he let Eggman go just hours ago.
'I'm so stupid. Stupid, arrogant, ignorant, overconfident, cocky, impatient, and simple-minded. It's all my fault. If I hadn't used Chaos Control in the first place, Prime wouldn't have lost control of the Rainbow Gem and we wouldn't have lost the Chaos Emeralds. It's because of me that he's trapped here. We gotta get them back, or else he's stuck for the rest of his life.' The blue hedgehog placed a hand to his face, feeling so terrible right about now.
"Sonic..."
Gasping softly in sudden fear when he heard his own voice, the voice that also belonged to Prime, speak up, Sonic glanced up and lowered his hand when he saw his older self stand in front of him as the older Sonic, along with everyone else noticed the younger Sonic look so terrible that they all looked so worried, none more so than his best friends, including Serena, looked guilt-ridden himself and apologetic.
"Uh, P-Prime..." Sonic began, feeling humiliated in showing off his sudden fear which he couldn't help that he tried to hide, shaking a little while hoping that his friends weren't noticing, as he then apologized. "Prime, I'm so sorry. Look, l know that I never should've used Chaos Control get us out of Eggman's trap, and I never should've let him go earlier today. I should've kept a better eye on him when my friends and I came back home. It's all my fault that you're-"
"No, Sonic. It wasn't your fault." Prime gently cut him off, surprising him and everyone else. The older Sonic sighed. "It's my fault that all of this happened. What you did is nothing compared to the terrible mistakes that I made. If I hadn't let Eggman and Mecha Sonic go, everybody in my old world would still alive, I wouldn't have put Saki-Chan and my new family into danger, and then I wouldn't have ended up trapping myself, and have your world's version of Eggman to try and get to me, and you wouldn't have lost the Chaos Emeralds. I made this mess, I'm responisble that your new mission to stop Apsu was interrupted, and that...that I made you guys scared and doubt yourselves, when I was just trying to make sure none of you would go through what I went through. For that...I'm deeply sorry."
Sonic was shocked when he heard Sonic Prime say all of this, but when he heard that part of the former accidentally scaring all of them, he could hear the 'especially since I scared you when I didn't mean to' in his friend's voice, but it wasn't spoken out loud. There he saw and was reminded of, was an alternate version of himself, Sonic the Hedgehog, who had lost almost everything because of the horrors Eggman Prime and Mecha Sonic had done, and the mistakes for foolishly believing they would turn over a new leaf.
Something that Sonic now knew with a heavy heart that Eggman would never do either, because like his Prime self, he could die evil as he had become evil at some point. The teenage blue hedgehog had been so scared of the older blue hedgehog, scared of being yelled at, that he forgot that, different lives or not, they were both the forgiving types, never to hold a grudge.
So all Sonic could do was gaze at Prime, before hugging him which surprised the latter and everyone else who once again felt a bit awkward in seeing this, yet Prime sighed as he returned the embrace.
"We'll find those Emeralds, Prime. We're gonna figure this all out, stop whoever's keeping you trapped here, and get you back home. I promise." Sonic whispered with a determined vow.
"And I promise to help you guys while I'm here. I'm so sorry for making you lose your confidence, Sonic." Prime whispered back. "I didn't mean to, and, you don't have to worry about what happened today. You did great and, well, I messed up when Maleficent attacked us earlier."
"Hey, now. If there's one thing nobody can stop no matter how hard you try, everybody always makes different kinds of mistakes. That's part of life." The younger blue hedgehog pointed out with a soft smile, and his friend returned it, knowing that he was right.
Serena and the rest of the group could only gaze on worriedly over the two blue hedgehogs, as the situation has steadily gotten even worse. Yet they were all determined to keep on finding the Chaos Emeralds, and to figure out who was responsible for the kidnapping of Prime and leaving him trapped here in their world.
Later that night after dinner, everyone went to bed since it has been another exhausting day. Despite the new information they learned from Saki-Chan's letter, it only made their determination on finding a way to get Prime back to his world even stronger, especially when they had another new mysterious enemy that was preventing him from leaving, while Sonic, still feeling a bit terrible, calmed down but was determined to try harder in not making anymore mistakes regarding Eggman.
Yet while the teenage blue hedgehog was sleeping, feeling at ease that his older self wasn't furious at him for what happened today, Prime, unable to sleep, had placed the photoframe on the bedside table between the two beds and could gaze at both the sleeping Sonic, and the photo of himself and his new family, the feeling of homesickness creeping in. Saki-Chan was greatly worried about him that she sought out Shadow's help, only for their trail to rescue him go cold.
'Saki-Chan...I'm sorry. I'll try to get back home as soon as I can, I promise. I just wish I could send you a letter to let you know that I'm okay. I love you. I miss you so much too.' Prime thought in sadness.
As he thought about his younger sister, he also thought about how he had been putting Sakura in danger as well and felt terrified of losing her too. Suddenly there was a chill running down his spine as, not sure why he could sense it or even hear it somehow, he felt Sakura's sudden distress and softly gasped, sitting up straight.
"Sakura?" Prime whispered, and, feeling the sudden need to check on his friend while checking to make sure that Sonic was sleeping peacefully, free from nightmares, he silently got out of bed and left the room, walking down the corridor of the Blue Typhoon, finding Sakura's room and as he opened the door slightly, he could hear her distressed whimper and groans, his worry increasing.
As he gazed into her bedroom, Prime's heart stopped for a moment when he saw Sakura toss and turn in her sleep, muttering his name slightly and making him hurry towards her to help her wake up from whatever nightmare she was having.
Sakura stood along with her friends, on a dark battlefield where all of the joined Guardians of Light and Cosmo were heavily defeated, badly injured and most of them unconscious, but all thankfully still alive. She was badly injured herself as she clasped her Star Staff, panting heavily as floating above them, was a dark figure with a glowing eye she'd never seen before, wearing some kind of mask, glowing in red aura and to her horror, was holding the older Sonic by the neck as he struggled to free himself, badly weakened as well.
"No...Prime!" Sakura exclaimed, tearfully as she could only watch helplessly while the evil enemy was choking the life out of her close friend.
"S-Sakura...Run, Sakura..." Prime choked, gazing at his friend weakly, his life fading away right before her eyes, and it terrified her.
"Let him go!" The young Cardcaptor pleaded the evil being who simply just laughed darkly.
"SoNiC pRiMe...YoU aRe MiNe NoW..." The dark being declared evilly, squeezing the life out of Prime who grunted and choked, struggling weakly to escape but was unable to do so...
Sakura tried to approach but a dark blast sent her flying and she crashed onto the ground, her strength spent and as she heard Prime scream out her name, she weakly looked up and gasped in horror as he screamed in agony, being covered with dark red and black particles while the being laughed.
"PRIME! NOOOO!" Sakura screamed, reaching out for him, but by then...it was already too late. She couldn't do anything to help him except watch him die before her eyes...
"Sakura! Sakura, wake up! You're having a nightmare!" Prime cried out, shaking Sakura by the shoulder.
Gasping awake in alarm, Sakura sat up quickly while unknowingly startling the blue hedgehog who stepped back a little and gazed at her worriedly as she panted, covered in cold sweat with a look of absolute fear and to his concern, tears leaking from her eyes. Whatever terrible dream she had must have involved in something horrible happening to him considering how she was crying out his name. So he climbed onto her bed and gently pulled her into a comforting embrace, with Sakura, coming to her senses and seeing that she had just had a bad dream and feeling the hedgehog's warm hug, muttering his name as she began to fully wake up, and hugged him back while beginning to cry.
"Oh, Prime...I...I saw you die right in front of me...! It was horrible...!" Sakura sobbed, crying on her friend's shoulder with her tears slightly damping his fur.
"Shhhh...Sakura, it's okay. It's going to be alright. It was just a bad dream. I'm here..." Prime whispered in a soothing voice, gently rubbing his friend's back to comfort her. "Don't cry."
The young Cardcaptor continued to cry despite trying hard to stop, too afraid to let go of the blue hedgehog in fear that he would just vanish and leave her heartbroken. Prime continued to comfort his distraught close friend, gently rocking her back and forth while carefully kissing her on head. While he wished he could do the same with Saki-Chan who was probably unable to sleep as of this moment, he felt like this was how he comforted his adoptive sister when she was very little, back when she cried in his arms, that he cheered her up, and she, feeling better, cutely begged him to sing for her which warmed his heart so much that his strong feelings for her grew stronger to the point that he didn't want to leave her world. At that time before he had been forced to return to Mobius Prime due to Eggman Prime, despite that he missed his other friends, Sonic Prime had wanted to stay, leaving him torn.
It took a little while, but eventually Sakura began to calm down, sniffling a little before relaxing with a sigh, as she and Prime gently and reluctantly let go and smiled, the latter gently wiping away her tears.
"Thank you, Prime. I'm sorry that I woke you up." Sakura replied gratefully.
"It's fine. I couldn't sleep anyway, and somehow I sensed that something was wrong, so I came in to check on you." Prime shook his head with a soft smile.
The young Cardcaptor/Keyblade Master sighed, before lowering her gaze as she explained. "We were all fighting this dark being. I don't know who he was, or where he came from. He looked like...an evil Mobian, but it was too dark to see what he really looked like. Except that...he had this weird looking mask with a red eye, glowing all black and red, like particles of the bugs in the Datascape. He defeated us, and was choking you. You told me to run, and I tried to save you, but I couldn't...All I could do was watch you...disappear..."
While Prime was shocked and horrified to hear Sakura have such a horrible nightmare where he died, by the hands of a being that he somehow knew who it was, he thought to himself while gently rubbing his friend's back once more. 'Infinite...But how can that be? I destroyed the Phantom Ruby, and the Infinite in this world died when Mephiles fused him to become Solaris in this world...unless it's someone else that looks just like him.'
Deciding to worry about that later as it was still pretty late, Prime focused on comforting Sakura. "It was just a dream, Sakura. It's going to be alright."
"Right..." Sakura nodded, wiping away the rest of her tears and while she felt guilty for having the older blue hedgehog to come to her, she felt better knowing that he was safe and sound, and alive. Though she couldn't help but feel like it was another one of those prophetic dreams that always lead her towards her future trials. For now, the fact that his presence was more than enough to reassure her that he was alright and had cheered her up.
"You want me to sleep with you to make you feel better?" Prime offered, making his friend surprised as she gazed at him.
"Prime, are you sure it's alright? I-I mean, you don't have to and, I'm not a little kid anymore." Sakura asked, feeling embarrassed despite that, as of right now, she would feel better if he did stay for the night.
"Don't worry. I don't mind. Plus I think it would make us both feel better." The blue hedgehog replied.
Blinking, the thirteen year old girl sighed as she said in realization. "You really miss Saki-Chan, don't you? You're worried about her just as she's worried about you."
"Yeah...that and, I'm really worried about you too, Sakura. Not because you and Saki-Chan are the same, but because I failed to protect you today and...after a nightmare like that, I want to make you feel better, knowing that you can relax with me around, and you don't have to feel jealous or anything. I care about you like I care about Saki-Chan, but in a different way. You're both my dearest friends, two existing in different realities, just like me and Sonic." Prime admitted and explained.
Sakura smiled, and even though she wasn't as close to Sonic like Serena was, she was beginning to understand how both her Moon Princess friend and her counterpart felt towards both Sonic and Prime. The more time she spent with him, the more she grew to love him like another brother.
"You're my really close friend too, Prime. I want to help you whatever way I can." She replied, and he smiled in return before they shared another sibling-like embrace.
With that, they settled into the bed with the covered draped gently over their bodies to their waists, and in each other's arms, Prime then began to sing the lullaby he always sang to Saki-Chan and what Sakura heard on his first night here in this dimension. Despite feeling like a small kid, Sakura relaxed instantly and while she wanted to stay awake to hear the rest of the beautiful song she first heard just days ago, the thirteen year old girl began to drift off to sleep, safe and warm within Prime's arms.
By the time the blue hedgehog finished singing, his friend was deeply asleep, free of nightmares and smiling in her sleep. Prime smiled warmly.
"Goodnight, Sakura." He whispered, laying down next to his newest close friend, finding that he was finally drifting off himself and while he still missed Saki-Chan and was worried about the current situation, for now, they both felt at peace and before he knew it, he was fast asleep himself.
What tomorrow would bring was anybody's guess as they hoped they would get the Chaos Emerald before their enemies did.
A/N: Sorry that they didn't get straight to locating the Chaos Emerald, but I promise you that the next chapter will do so and hopefully it won't take as long, but neither Sonic245 or I are certain of that, but I do thank my friend as we both work hard on this story together.
