To TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: Thanks and sorry for the wait of my other stories. I'm quite interested in what sort of ideas you have in mind that could help with this story, and I'm glad that you're like my new story so far. Yes it's going to be quite interesting.
To danielman21: I'm sorry that this isn't your requested story since I'm admittedly stuck on that, but I'm glad you like this new one so far and I hope you'll enjoy what's more to come.

Chapter 2: A Few Slight Problems.
While Sonic and his family and friends were settling in for the night after Yacker, Cutie and Speed, before going to bed, were offered some food of fruit which the three Wisps enjoyed, all around the world things were...quite interesting with many reactions. In Station Square, people, humans and Mobians, seeing random types of Wisps, all stared in shock, confusion, fear and interest. The children thought the little aliens were cute, but their parents steered them clear away from the small creatures who, curious yet seeing the fearful or suspicious looks, simply just flew around with most hiding in panic and confusion, some wanted a closer look but decided to wait until morning, and the rest were in places that were away from the city and, confused and afraid, took shelter in trees that didn't have Mobinis and wished for Sonic to come.
Of course, the reports of the aliens appearing didn't go unnoticed as News broke out revealing them, yet even the reporters were baffled that this wasn't like the terrible invasion of Black Doom and his army, or the Hybrian attacks in Clocksworth Town or other parts of Mobius. This was heard in reports in G.U.N who were also trying to figure out the situation with the new planets spotted in the sky.
As of this moment, Team Dark were in Commander Tower's office in HQ as Shadow, Rouge, and Omega, with their experiences and having been the first to notice the first tale signs of Wisps, actually managed to calm them down and Topaz was very impressed to which she half-decided that there wasn't much of a need of panic just yet, were re-confirming what they told the older man of their reports from three months ago.
"So there is no explanation of how or why these aliens have come back to our planet or began to spread out?" Tower questioned from behind his desk.
"No, sir. We have reason to believe that this is a mysterious matter, and we know for certain that Dr. Eggman is not responsible this time due to his death three months ago." Shadow reported. "Unfortunately, the only way to communicate with these Wisps is for Miles Prower's translation device."
"Knowing Sonic, if he's seeing this, he'll be looking for a way to figure out what the problem is and how all of this happened. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Tails have already talked to some if they're in the same area and doing their own investigation." Rouge stated.
"Scanner analysis complete: Wisps are in a state of confusion, fear and curiosity. It is believed they do not know what has happened either." Omega reported.
"I agree with Omega. They may be alien but these, Wisps you say, seem to be more afraid of us and I have to admit, they are very cute." Topaz commented.
The Commander sighed, nodding as he clasped his hands in front of his face and leaned on the desk with his elbows. "Given your reports three months ago and it was agreed these aliens' existance should not be made public, we must fully investigate the situation and if some of these Wisps have gone rogue, it will cause a wide-spread panic."
"The only time they are truly dangerous is if they lose their power, the Hyper-Go-On, and transform into Nega-Wisps, according to Prower and Sonic, who has more than enough experience with them." The black hedgehog reminded.
"Where is Sonic now?"
"He is at home with his relatives and friends. I briefly spoke to him after he returned from his usual run earlier this afternoon."
"Perhaps speaking to Sonic is a top priority? In spite of me annihilating Dr. Eggman has failed." Omega suggested, still rather annoyed that it had been the Nega-Mother Wisp and not the robot himself that had finally put an end to the evil scientist who, unknowingly to them, may still be imprisoned in the Prison of Evil or has finally learned his lesson enough to be passed on for the Afterlife.
"You're still upset about that?" Rouge groaned, placing a hand over her face. "It's not Big Blue's fault that Eggman's last plan got himself killed, and put it this way, everything's been peaceful now that he's finally out of the picture."
"I wanted to annihilate Dr. Eggman myself." The robot grunted.
"We need to do something about this." Topaz sighed in exasperation, copying the white bat, while Shadow and Tower both shook their heads.
"While Dr. Eggman is no longer a priority, Sonic knows more of these aliens than the rest of us, along side Miles Prower." The Commander agreed with Omega's suggestion, then gave out his order. "Shadow. Contact with them in their home or if they're not there, find them and question them or Sonic's relatives on what they know about the situation, but don't arrest them. Just speak to them. Rouge, speak with Knuckles and see if he noticed something else unusual. Topaz, Omega, analyze the situation and monitor the aliens and see if there is any change in activitiy. We can't afford in a wide-spread panic, but we will not shed any blood if we can help it."
"Yes, sir." Shadow, Rouge and Topaz saluted.
"Affirmative." Omega agreed.
Just as Team Dark moved out, the Ultimate Lifeform paused, feeling like he should tell Tower about the Wisps' innocence. The black hedgehog turned to face the human man and informed him. "Just so you know, Commander, it was Eggman who had caused fear into the Wisps, and Sonic has calmed them down and saved them, as well as saving our lives through out the universe. He would never forgive you if you give the order to have these aliens destroyed or captured. They are nothing like the Black Army."
Tower frowned and stayed silent for a few moments, before questioning. "You believe that these aliens wish to see Sonic?"
"It is a logical explanation, sir. He deeply cares about them, just as he deeply cares for humanity, Mobians and Mobinis, especially his friends and family. If anyone can possibly solve this mystery, it would be him." Shadow nodded, before taking his leave to find Sonic and question him.
Left alone for the time being, the Commander sighed, gazing at the report which had a photo of Sonic and his friends from the time after the Black Arms crisis on it, but only eying on the teenage blue hedgehog who held his trademark thumbs up, grin and wink, being the carefree Mobian that he was. Despite that time the back-then fourteen/fifteen year old didn't destroy Devil Doom, Sonic still fought to protect the planet alongside the forces, his friends, and Shadow despite the black hedgehog had amnesia and questioned his own trust back then.
Yet given what Shadow had said, how much Sonic risked his own life for others without regards of his own safety, most of the time at least, since the boy had a heart much more precious than gold. Despite being a male Mobian, with the past in his own childhood, Tower saw Maria within the hero of Mobius, having loved life even though the late girl never got to experience it, and she had sacrificed herself for the sake of Shadow's life.
Perhaps the teenage hedgehog can see within these Wisps what Maria could see within the Ultimate Lifeform, and neither should be judged.
'I hope you will solve this problem if we fail to do so, Sonic. You have saved this world for half a decade. There should be more people like you and all of your friends on the planet.' Tower thought to himself.
Still, it was better safe than sorry to monitor these new aliens...even if they do seem to be harmless and quite small...and admittedly cute, like a Chao.
The next morning back in the Mystic Ruins, Sonic and his family and friends were up and early eating breakfast with Bernadette's delicious pancakes which even Yacker, Cutie and Speed really loved, enjoying the tasty soft round flat hot cakes and sweet maple syrup that was just like in Sweet Mountain.
"So, where are we going first today to find the Wisps?" Star asked, curiously.
"I was thinking of checking out Station Square first before we go for our flight across the world and the other planets. Good place to start and I'm worried that the people might get the wrong idea already if they're around." Sonic explained, and the three cute aliens nodded in agreement, babbling something in their Wisp language.
"Yacker, Cutie and Speed say that it's a good idea. That bright light could have spread all of the Wisps to many places while some may have hopefully stayed behind in their world." Tails translated.
"I agree. Who knows what would happen if we leave without checking out the city first." Sir Charles said.
"I'm more worried about what the government would do, and how Shadow's going to handle this." Sun shuddered a little, remembering what the ultimate lifeform has told him months ago. "Don't get me wrong, Shadow can be a bit of a jerk, but I like that guy. He...well, I guess we can both relate to each other considering how we came here in the first place."
While those around the tangerine hedgehog held sympathy for him, especially Sonic considering how his brother came from his quills and emotions, the Wisps were very puzzled and gazed at the blue hedgehog who smiled softly and said. "It's a long story."
Before the conversation could continue, there was a knock on the door which had the family and friends confused, with Amy asking. "Huh? Who could that be?"
"I'll get it." Tails volunteered, getting up from the seat and racing to the door as he and his family and friends wondered who would be visiting them at this time of the morning.
When he opened the door to greet the visitor, maybe one or some of their friends like either Cream and Cheese and maybe Mrs. Vanilla, the visitor that stood in the doorway made him greatly surprised and...maybe a bit worried.
"Huh? Shadow?" The nine year old cub blinked, bewildered. "Uh...Hi."
"Good morning. Is Sonic here? I would like to speak to you and him." Shadow greeted back firmly.
Tails gulped nervously all of the sudden, sweat dropping a little and his insides all freezing up. If Shadow was here, which was unusual for the black hedgehog to come by, that could only mean one or two things. The youg fox found himself unable to speak, or even think except for the problem that was going on right about now.
"Hey, Tails. Who is it?" Sonic called out, before the blue blur raced over to see what was going on when he, his parents, uncle, other brother, four friends and girlfriend were met with brief silence. When he did and found that his little brother was frozen stiff and turning pale, the teenage hedgehog looked to see who it is and blinked in surprise, if not suspicsion. "Shadow?"
"Ah, good. You're both here. I need to ask you a couple of questions regards to what happened earlier last night." The Ultimate Lifeform nodded, notably surprised himself, but then he figured that the younger hedgehog's relatives were still here and the cobalt hero wouldn't miss the opportunity to spend time with his parents and uncle.
Sonic raised an eyebrow. "You couldn't have just called? What's this about? Not everyday you come over unless it's important or we invite you to a party."
"It's about the Wisps. They have appeared suddenly in Station Square." The Ultimate Lifeform responded, ignoring the comment from the teenager.
Sonic froze on the spot with a soft gasp, his heart plummeting into his stomach, a wave of fear washing over him and Tails who covered his mouth with one hand. Oh no...if Shadow was here, and the Wisps had already appeared in Station Square and not just Yacker, Cutie and Speed, that meant only one thing. People were already panicking, and G.U.N... They had sent Shadow in and quite possibly to question Sonic and Tails before taking them into custody, and now he was scared for the Wisp' safeties, and given Spirit's idea of fun, everybody in Mobius would be in danger too. This was already getting worse.
The gentle aliens were all going to be captured or worse, and Sonic and all of his friends and family were going to be put into jail for the rest of their lives due to this. People may see them as traitors and...Oh, Chaos. What a mess!
"Shadow...Shadow, please. Let me explain...! I know what's going on, and the others and I were gonna try and fix up this mess tomorrow, but you gotta understand and give me a chance, please!" Sonic pleaded, already beginning to hyperventilate. "Just don't...don't arrest us! Please, I-I beg you!"
Shadow sighed, kicking himself for inadvertently scaring his rival who would have thought of this and having half-correctly guessed that G.U.N was already in on this. "I'm under orders to not arrest you or Tails or anyone else, Sonic. Just to question you on the situation. That is all."
Still shaking slightly, Sonic and Tails, who was still a bit nervous, both sighed in huge relief. The older brother placed a hand to his chest. "Don't scare me like that, man. I almost had a heart attack. Tails was right about the whole panic thing and the government already in on this."
"If G.U.N are on about this, then I have a bad feeling the Wisps are gonna be put into more danger." The two-tailed kit muttered.
"I take you're going to solve this problem and what is happening." The black hedgehog stated.
"Yeah. See, Yacker and the other Wisps, or most of them as far as they could tell, weren't even planning on coming here. The whole idea came from one of the newer Wisps named Spirit who's a Jade-Ghost alien, and he, the other two new cute Wisps named Cutie and Speed, had mentioned, decided to, 'liven things up'." Sonic made the air-quote when he said 'liven things up'.
"By bringing all of the Wisps to Mobius and dragging their world as well as the other four Eggman captured back into our orbit?" Shadow raised an eyebrow skeptically, folding his arms.
Sonic and Tails nodded, before reluctantly allowing the black hedgehog to come in, which surprised Amy who demanded what the Ultimate Lifeform was doing here only to be calmed down by her boyfriend, Sun who felt a bit chilled but relaxed when his older friend gave him a look that no one was in trouble, Star who was stunned, Yacker who had Cutie and Speed behind him just in case despite that the curl-headed Wisp was familiar with the black hedgehog, despite only meeting him briefly, Jules who narrowed his eyes suspiciously, Bernadette who almost dropped the jug of maple syrup, and Uncle Chuck who held his own suspicions.
After Shadow explained his reasons for coming here, Sonic and the others told the older hedgehog what he and everyone else heard, from the three Wisps' arrivals to everything the gentle aliens had said, that Spirit became rebellious to the point of attempting to bring everyone together and had called Mother Wisp and Yacker dumb for letting Sonic himself and Tails return home after their last visit two months ago, and that the two along with Amy, Sun and Star planned on finding the Wisps across the planet and the other planets and talk reason into Spirit and the other Wisps.
"It wasn't their fault, Shadow." Sonic quickly defended the little aliens who nodded in agreement, despite that the light-yellow alien and the cobalt alien both still looked guilt-ridden for failing to stop Spirit. "I can't help it that they adore me that much that some of then wanted me to come back or stay. This whole thing started when Eggman built that stupid amusement park of his."
Shadow just scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You always end up being worshiped without even trying. Sometimes you're far too nice for your own good, Sonic."
"Hey, you know me. Whenever there are people in trouble, I come running to help them. And where there are bad guys causing trouble, I go beat them up to teach them a lesson or two." The blue hedgehog shrugged.
"And if there are robots causing damage, you go smashing them." Sun couldn't help but lightly tease.
"Exactly." Sonic lightly chuckled as did Tails, Amy and Star while the adult blue hedgehogs shared uneasy glances.
"And what is your plan for a head start?" Shadow asked.
"Checking out Station Square before we go. I wanna calm everybody down before they all get the wrong idea." Sonic answered.
The black hedgehog nodded, agreeing with the logic for once. Earlier on his way here, he had passed by the Wisps which were quite a lot considering, some recognizing him, and they felt a bit at ease despite his glances at them. He paid no attention to the aliens except keeping an eye on certain ones that may cause trouble, but made sure they steered clear from the citizens and visiting tourists who gave the aliens and the black hedgehog odd glances, and unsurprisingly, the children seem to be curious of these cute little ones.
"People do seem to be uneasy, but humans usually are. The Mobians aren't so sure as I checked, but I could tell that the children are very curious with these aliens. So far there has been no damage, but it would be a good idea for you to calm everyone down." Shadow informed.
The hero of Mobius and the others shared glances before the sixteen year old nodded, "Not surprised. These little guys are very cute. Maybe I should head to town straight away before things get worse."
Suddenly Shadow's communicator went off, making him excuse himself politely before answering. "This is Shadow."
"Shadow! We have a situation! There are Jack'o green like aliens that are causing mischief all over the place! And I think they're possessing not just pink-spiky aliens into attacking some of their own, but citizens too!" Topaz's voice shouted from the device, making the Ultimate Lifeform wince at how loud the female agent's voice was.
"Oh no!" Tails, Amy, Star and Bernadette exclaimed while Sonic, Jules, Sir Charlse and Sun gasped, and Yacker, Cutie and Speed all gaped in shock and horror.
"Hey, Topaz, tell your men not to hurt them! I'll be right there!" Sonic quickly yelled at the communicator by yanking at the black hedgehog's arm.
"Let go of my arm, faker!" Shadow hissed, yanking it back in sheer annoyance. He then reported to Topaz. "We'll be there as soon as possible. Shadow out."
As the black hedgehog hung up, Sonic, not paying attention, quickly stood up to make his way out into the city when Speed suddenly flew over and ranted at him while waving his arms with a determined look on his face. While he couldn't understand what the Wisp was saying, he didn't need Tails to bring out his translator to tell what the little alien was trying to say, given the Jumper Wisps' power of teleport.
"You wanna take me there with your teleporting power?" The blue hedgehog asked, and when Speed nodded, he smirked. "All right! It'll be way a lot quicker than running for once!"
"I thought you couldn't understand what they're saying." Sun blinked, surprised that his brother managed to get that.
"I don't, but I know body language and speaking through the heart when the occassion calls for it." The hero of Mobius shrugged.
"Sonic, wait! I have something that might be more usual in case I'm not there for translating and, I hope it'll work better than this." Tails spoke up quickly, gesturing at his Miles Electric before hurrying over to his lab to get something.
When the group of hedgehogs waited in confusion and impatience, while the Wisps were confused, the young fox came back with a few black and silver like watches that looked just like a communicator, and placed it around Sonic's right wrist just behind and under his glove.
"Huh? Is this...?" The blue hedgehog trailed off as he gazed at the new communicator.
"It's a Wisp-O T4 Tele-Watch and Communication Strap. Or WCS for short. Not only it's a communictor we can keep track with each other like G.U.N have, including Shadow, but it can also, in theory, translate what the Wisps are saying much better than the Miles Electric. I built them a couple of weeks ago. You can have it in translating mode where whenever the Wisps speak, it will voice record and translate it into English, or you can read it if you want. Don't worry, I made sure it's not in binary code this time...or so I hope it can work. I haven't fully tested it out yet, so...yeah." The little cub explained.
Sonic whistled, very impressed, before carefully covering the new device under his glove's cuff. "Sweet. Makes things a lot easier."
After Tails showed Sonic how to turn it on and which mode to press, the blue hedgehog decided to test it out and said to Speed. "Alright. Take it away, Speedster!"
Speed nodded, liking his new nicknamed, which was expanded to his name but it sounded cool, and spoke in Wisp language as briefly as possible. When Sonic tested it out, the results were atonishing.
"(Firing away, Sonic!)" The WCS spoke in an automatic, child-like voice, translating what the cobalt little alien said.
"Hey, this baby works better than the old translator." Sonic remarked in glee.
"I guess it's to do with how he had to re-do the Miles Electric back then instead of building a translator from scratch." Amy suggested, making Tails giggle in slight embarrassment but even he was proud of his own work.
"(Wow, this is so cool! I really like that Tele...whatever it is.)" Cutie said in amazement and the WCS translated what she said almost easily.
The pink hedgehog nodded in agreement, gazing at her new friend. "Me too! It saves Tails having to do all the translating."
Once this was settled and his family and friends wishing him luck as he promised them that he will be fine while Shadow just watched, the hero of Mobius turned to Speed once more and nodded. "Welp, let's go, Speed! To Station Square!"
"(You got it! Here goes!)" The cobalt alien said, and like all Wisps before, he dissolved into energy and flew right into Sonic's body which the blue hedgehog was well prepared for given his experience. While his parents and Star cried out in alarm and Sun gasped, Tails, Amy and Shadow, the latter two never having seen this display before, calmed them down.
Sonic stood ready, feeling the urge to get to one place instantly, to leap high than ever but not like when it was using the power of the Orange-Rocket Wisp, but like to just be from one place to another, being so hyper like he would whenever he freely teleported by using Chaos Control either with the Emeralds or when he's Super Sonic. All he wanted to do was...
"JUMP!"
Shouting that word, the cobalt hedgehog transformed into a cobalt-blue like beam and jumped high through the ceiling and vanished, similar to Chaos Control, much to everyone's shock and awe.
"What the...where did they go?" Sun murmured, almost speechless.
"Most likely Station Square. The Jumping Wisps have the power to teleport to places almost instantly of their choosing. Speed had just lended Sonic his power to 'jump' from here straight to the city." Tails explained, placing his own WCS on his left wrist. "I'm gonna go prep the X Tornado since it could use a bit of a run."
"I'll will be there as well." Shadow announced, taking out a familiar crystal which made everyone gasp in surprise.
"Where did you get that Chaos Control?" Amy asked, surprised.
"I found it during a mission the other day." The black hedgehog simply answered, before chanting as he didn't want to waste anymore time. "Chaos Control!"
Before anyone could protest, the Ultimate Lifeform disappeared.
"Hmph! Grumpy and rude as always." The thirteen year old pink hedgehog pouted, folding her arms while looking away in sheer annoyance.
"Is he always like this?" Sir Charles asked, baffled.
Tails just giggled nervously, while Jules shrugged, Bernadette sighed, Star shaking her head in confusion, and Sun scratched the top of his head as he said to his new uncle. "I think you should be asking Rouge about that, Uncle Chuck. She knows him better than the rest of us."
Yacker and Cutie shared a glance, the former waving his hand at his sister to indicate that he had no idea either.
As true to Topaz's words, the city was beginning to go into a state of panic. Mischief Jade-Ghost Wisps were making such a mess in a very naughty and playful manner, posessing cars and making some fly and go through walls and other cars with people nearly crashing and screaming, possessing the Spike-Wisps who tried to ignore them but couldn't escape on time and were chasing after some Cyan Wisps with others trying to stop them, White Wisps who tried blocking them with trash can lids but were hit and crashed to the ground while defending some Mobians and Humans who were greatly surprised by this, and a couple of Jumpers, on the Jade-Ghosts' sides, jumping away while another couple lured everyone back to safety.
By this time, Sonic reappeared via his own Jump and landed in the middle of the street where Speed flew out of his chest and hovered next to him. Needless to say the duo were quite shocked to see the mayhem all over.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelped while Speed cried out in a squeal that sounded like a scream, the WCS translating everything the small alien was saying in automatic voice mode since reading it all would take too long.
"(OH NO!)" The Jumping Wisp exclaimed, his eyes wide in dismay.
"Oh man! This is gonna be harder than I thought it would!" The hero of Mobius exclaimed in dismay with a sweat drop, unable to believe this was happening.
Speed frantically scratched the top of his head in panic, crying out. "(This is a disaster! I knew Spirit's idea was a really bad one! We gotta stop all of the Jade-Ghosts and the other Jumpers!)"
"Right!" The sixteen year old hedgehog nodded, narrowing his eyes. As much as this was going to be difficult, he had to at least try and save everybody while getting the Wisps to behave themselves.
Sonic and Speed then quickly raced across the streets in hopes of saving the rest of the Wisps that were in trouble, the humans and Mobians that were caught in the crossfire of mischief, the former being the fastest thing alive as he ran in high-speed while gathering many naughty aliens that were just out to play and follow Spirit's example of living things up way too much. Some of the Jade-Ghosts tried to possess him, making him scream in fear, but to his surprise Speed flew beside him and conjured up some sort of barrier that blocked their attempts and then spun around to make them dizzy.
As the stunned blue hedgehog skid to a stop, staring at Speed in awe while the Jade coloured aliens looked like they were seeing stars despite not having visible eyes, Speed folded two arms while placing two tentacles on his hips with a glare.
"(What's wrong with you guys!? Can't you see you just nearly tried to possess THE Sonic the Hedgehog who's everybody's hero? What are you thinking following Spirit's dumb idea, huh!?)" Speed scolded angrily, which Sonic managed to hear through the WCS's translator.
"(Huh?)" One of the Jade-Ghost Wisps muttered as it and the other four aliens that the hero of Mobius scooped up and their cobalt brother wisp stopped them from possessing stared at him in shock. Every detail of Sonic did no justice. "(He's Sonic the Hedgehog? The hero who saved Mama and our older brothers and sisters from that bad man Baldy Nosehair?)"
Despite being admittedly angry with the Wisps that did all of this just because they didn't want to be cooped up waiting for him and Tails and just followed Spirit's bad example, Sonic smirked with a thumbs up. "Yep. That's my name, don't wear it out!"
"(Wow! I thought you were taller and understand us now. But you still look so amazing!)" The second Jade-Ghost Wisp squealed before it flew around the blue hedgehog who raised an eyebrow and flinched a little. "(I can't believe you're the Sonic the hero! This is so cool!)"
"(Will you come back with us and stay forever, please please please please please!?)" A third Jade-Ghost Wisp squeaked, it and the other Jade Wisps hovering around.
Sonic, hearing this, groaned while sharing a glance with Speed who facepalmed himself, before the teenage hero shrugged with a sweat-drop, feeling a case of deja vu. "Here we go again..."
"(Guys, Sonic and Tails can't live with us. This is their home too, and not only you're all following Spirit's really bad example, but we don't know anything about their world and you're making all of these humans and Mobians scared.)" Speed scolded once more.
"Your brother's right. Look, I'm sorry for not visiting sooner and I really wanted to come, but we can't just teleport freely like you guys, and not only that, you have to be more careful when it comes to Mobius and it's people." Sonic agreed, giving them a firm but also apologetic look.
Despite the major disappointment that the blue hedgehog couldn't live with them, he did sound apologetic for not visiting and had wanted to visit, the Jade-Ghost Wisps shared a glance before they, Sonic and Speed heard more screaming and turned to see more Jade-Ghost Wisps and even the Star-Beam Wisps, which the blue hedgehog was stunned to see for the first time, creating all kinds of ghostly-beams like they were mixing up their abilities and even began chasing after two human guys and a human woman as well as White and Cyan Wisps who tried to keep them safe.
"Hey! Knock it off!" Sonic yelled, now very annoyed as he and Speed, who gave the Jade-Ghost Wisps another angry look, quickly hurried to save the people and behaved aliens.
Trusting his speed, the hero of Mobius Spin-Dashed into a newly created giant moving star that was giggling and was surprisingly soft like a giant marshmallow while Speed used his power to safely teleport the other Wisps and the three people from the road to the side near a building. Sonic then managed to kick the giant star back, causing it to stumble and nearly lose it's balance. The blue hedgehog sped around it and scooped up a couple of Mobians, a parrot and a rooster, moving them out of the way so that they wouldn't be squashed flat like pancakes.
The naughty Jade-Ghost Wisps and Star-Beam Wisps, two each which made a grand total of four in a group, were stunned to see Sonic in action, seeing his heroic deeds made them feel a bit disappointed in spoiling their fun but were quite amazed to see his ability to fight a giant marshmallow star(1) even though it wasn't meant to hurt anyone. Speed, and the three Wisps, two Cyan and one White, along with the people whom both the cobalt alien and the cobalt hedgehog had saved once Sonic placed the two Mobians in a safe distance, shocked to see this happening while relieved that the hero of Mobius had come to the rescue, shared glances before one of the Cyan Wisps had an idea and flew over to Sonic who was facing the Star-Marshmallow which managed to get back up and while it only had two beady eyes, it stomped around like it was a baby.
"Ugh! As much as this big guy's surprisingly cute, strangely familiar and somehow created by the Jade-Ghost and Star-Beam Wisps, this is ridiculous!" The blue hedgehog complained, now getting really worried that this might not end well.
"(Sonic! Here!)" A voice called out, startling the teenager who glanced to see a Cyan Wisp fly up to him and spun around while pointing at the giant Star-Marshmallow. "(Use my power to make this thing go away! The Laser can shrink it until it's back to normal! Other Wisps powers can cancel out each other's when they're not combined!)"
"Say what!? Are you serious?" Sonic exclaimed, his eyes wide as he felt worried even more, now that he was burrowing the Hyper-Go-Ons to cancel out the other Wisps' powers. "Not sure I like that idea, little guy!"
The Cyan Wisp, surprised that the blue hedgehog can understand him and not seeing that he had a new translater Tails gave him, just ranted on pleadingly and urgently. "(It's the only way! I'll be fine, promise!)"
Sonic felt uncomfortable, memories flashed before him as the last time he let the Wisps let him burrow their powers; by that time, Eggman had sucking up all of their energy to power up the Mind Control Weapon and how scared the blue hedgehog had been. When he first heard about it, he thought they would die and it terrified him a lot, then he saw the real results of it which them becoming Nega-Wisp was so horrible, then came Yacker's death when the cutest little alien sacrificed himself just as Sonic risked his life to save him, before his wish upon the Chaos Emeralds brought the bravest Wisp back to life.
Then came the battle against the Nega-Mother Wisp who had eaten up Eggman who was transported into the Prison of Evil due to being too cruel to even be in the Underworld, before Sonic transformed into Super Sonic to restore her to normal, having been briefly gobbled up himself but managed to use Chaos Control to get out and escaped from suffering the fate. Plus during the visit to Planet Wisp a month after that, the time when he first encountered the Jade-Ghost Wisp, he'd been terrified and mistook them for misplaced Nega-Wisps that didn't heal, only to find that they were just mischief.
That mischief now, he realized, had began to increase for the sake of them and the other younger Wisps in seeing him and Tails again as well as taking the risks of exploring all worlds and forcing them to unite together. Still, as Sonic wished he didn't have to do it and felt guilty for burrowing Speed's powers to get here, he realized that there wasn't much of a choice this time in order to fix things up.
"...Okay! Let's do this!" He finally agreed, and leaped back along with the Cyan which seemed to know him, maybe being one the Wisps he saved in the past, to avoid in getting stomped on or grabbed.
To his and the other behaved aliens' bewilderment, the Star-Marshmallow then went over to a small toy store and picked up a baby-sized teddy bear before hugging it, making the blue hedgehog, the Wisps and even the bystanders all sweat drop at the scene, and to their shock it somehow grew bigger and began towering over them.
"This is like out of a bad parody horror movie!" Sonic exclaimed, before turning to the Cyan Wisp and said. "Ready when you are!"
The Cyan Wisp nodded before it flew into the blue hedgehog's chest and he felt the familiar power he felt just three weeks ago in the White Space during the Time Eater and Cormain crisis.
"LASER!"
Sonic transformed into his Laser form and zipped his way up to the giant Star-Marshmallow and bashed and hit the overly cute giant thing created by the Jade-Ghost Wisps and Star-Beam Wisps, and while the Star-Marshmallow attempted to swat him away like a fly, the blue hedgehog with the power of the Hyper-Go-On kept going and making sure no one got hurt and no buildings or cars were damaged. The Star-Marshmallow tried to grab him and even flailed it's arms around which created raining shiny stars which seemed to distract people who were amazed by this, but scared on what it could do. With one final hit with a Laser-powered Homing Attack, and the 'monster' shrinking smaller and smaller, the Star-Marshmallow was finally defeated as it gave a wail before falling and the four Wisps that created it flew out of it, dazed and defeated.
With that job done, Sonic returned to normal with the Cyan Wisp flying out of his chest and hovered beside him as did Speed and the other rescued Wisps. To their and everyone else's surprise, the Star-Marshmallow thing just laid there, the size of a hand-sized toy. Finding it a bit more familiar, the blue hedgehog approached with great caution and slowly picked it up to examine it.
"What the...?" Sonic muttered, before realizing why this looked so familiar. "It's one of the new Lunina Toys from the Toy Store!"
"(Lunia Toys?)" Speed and the other three Wisps asked, puzzled and curious.
"Yeah. I know you guys don't have any of this stuff back at home, but toys are what little kids play with from the time they're born 'til they grow up to say about my age or even Tails'. The Lunina toys are just a brand of new product for kids and I think it's something to do with the Lunina Event or whatever that's supposed to happen soon. Can't remember, so I think you'd better check with Tails." The blue hedgehog explained.
"(Ooooh...)" The Wisps breathed in awe, before they and Sonic heard more squealing and found the very trouble-making Wisps hovered over along with the ones that Sonic and Speed scolded earlier, with many people, those who were protected by the nicer aliens and the hero of Mobius, staring on with uncertainty, though some did hold some angry looks which made the blue hedgehog now become worried.
'Uh-oh...' The sixteen year old thought, knowing that not only were the Wisps were in trouble, but he was in big trouble himself. He made a quick survey to find that while they did make a mess, it wasn't as catastrophic as he thought it would be. What the naughty Wisps did was extremely minor compared to attacks from the Iron Empire, Eggman's robots, and the Black Arms army, and quite possibly the Dark Gaia monsters as well.
Gulping nervously while keeping on a brave face, Sonic began as calmly as possible. "Everybody, please remain calm and let's chill out a little. Before you go and accuse me for these aliens being here on Mobius, most of them are not evil or dangerous. Some of them are just mischief and wanted to play really roughly and don't understand the trouble they're causing. They're nothing like the Black Arms that attacked several months ago. They're very gentle and have such good hearts and I can tell that some of you were even saved by them from the ones that started all of this."
Speed and the three Wisps that helped out, along with other many Wisps who, coming out of hiding and had helped out a lot of people that caused confusion and awe, all squealed and nodded in agreement with the hero of Mobius.
"Even if that is true, Sonic, how do you know they're not tricking everybody?" One man demanded.
"If you let me explain, this all thing started a few months ago when Eggman kidnapped them for his Interstellar Amusement Park and plotted on using them to take over the planet. My best friend Tails and I stopped him when the park exploded and that got himself killed. I saved these aliens and I could tell that they were just as scared. The reason they show off their powers to me is because it's their way of showing off their gratitude. They even took back their planet and the other planets he brought over back to where they came frome. The only reason they're here now is because, well, some of the newer Wisps decided to try and make everybody like each and being a little too rough with their idea of fun." He told them.
"Mr. Sonic's right. All of these Wisps just want to be friends and play. They don't want to hurt anybody." A familiar, sweet little girl's voice spoke pleadingly, causing Sonic and the Wisps and everyone else to see Cream hurry over with Cheese and Vanilla. The seven year old rabbit girl looked on. "Please don't be mad at Sonic or the aliens, everybody. They didn't mean to cause problems."
"Cream? Mrs. Vanilla and Cheese?" Sonic blinked, surprised to see them here, then felt relief when he saw Shadow skate his way after doing his work in helping out other people, along with Topaz and a few other soldiers who were attempting to calm the people of humans and Mobians down, and the familiar sight of the X Tornado which hasn't been used in a while after Tails fixed it up, which the plane landed and the two-tailed fox, Amy, Sun and Star hopped out along with Yacker and Cutie who flew over and gave the gathered naughty aliens a good long lecture for their bad behavior.
"Hello, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Sun, Star, and Shadow. It's so good to see you again." Vanilla greeted. "We heard and saw what was happening and decided to come and see if we could help, and I know my little Cream would never behave terribly or lie."
'That's Cream for ya. Always sweet and perfectly honest. I hope that doesn't change when she grows up.' The hero of Mobius thought fondly over his youngest friend's honesty and pure heart. Plus he was relieved that some of his friends were here to help him out explain the situation.
"Everyone, Sonic and Cream speak the truth. The situation is under control and the damage is minimal, and unless any of you have any objections, there were no serious injuries or casualties. Any questions?" Topaz spoke up with authority she was trained to do, while siding with the Sonic Heroes who all mentally thanked her for her assistance.
"A very pretty light yellow alien helped me find my Mommy and my dolly." One little Mobian Cat girl piped up optimistically, pointing at Cutie. "Like that one. So pretty and cute!"
Cutie blushed slightly before looking away shyly.
"(I think she likes you and the other Swirl Wisps, Cutie.)" Speed commented half-teasingly, then burst out laughing when his sister looked at him in annoyance. The Jade-Ghost Wisps attempted to laugh, only to earn another glare from Yacker and the other Wisps who made them quieten down.
"(No laughing from the...uh...something gallery?)" One of the White Wisps trailed off in confusion.
"(All of you and Spirit are in big trouble when we get back home after we help Sonic to find him and stop this nonsense, and Mama will certainly be angry with all of you.)" Yacker informed the trouble-making Wisps who, sharing a glance and seeing how much Sonic put into helping everybody with most looking quite annoyed with them, and thanks to the WCS Tails invented, could understand them. Even the hero and his friends looked quite disappointed with the Jade-Ghost Wisps and the Star-Beam Wisps, they all now felt guilty and squirmed slightly like scolded children.
"(Sorry, everybody.)" The naughty Wisps whimpered.
Sonic sighed, shaking his head in disappointment, but was forgiving as always. "It's fine. Just don't do it again, okay? Mobius isn't like your own home, or even places like the ones you also visited."
He then smirked apologetically and added, "And hate to say it, but all the sweets, sugar and candy here don't come for free like on Sweet Mountain. Besides that, after you guys did today, we have rules that kids that behave badly don't get any sweets for a while until they behave themselves."
"(That's a good idea. We should do that too.)" One of the White Wisps remarked, liking that logic. The Mobian girls all giggled while Tails, Sonic and Sun tried hard not to laugh, Shadow held a ghost of a smirk, and even everybody else, still wirly, were surprised by this and all held different expressions of confusion, interest and amusement.
"(I think we should help in cleaning up the mess, and you all start with what you did here by returning all of things you took or fixing up whatever you broke. Or else Speed and I will take you back home and you won't be playing for a week, and you don't want to get into any further trouble around here.)" Yacker added sternly to the naughty Wisps who shrank back, sweat dropping before they nodded and quickly hurried to return all of the toys they took, picking up the stuff that were dropped and even attempting to apologize to the people whom they scared.
"I think your message was very clear, Yacker." Tails remarked, a little smugly.
"Chao, Chao." Cheese agreed.
The curl-headed Wisp waved his hand in front of his face, saying. "(Well, somebody's gotta try and keep an eye on all of the babies when Mama can't or she's busy on the other side of our home doing the same.)"
"I know that feeling. At least partially. But let's face it, it's not easy looking after kids." Sonic chuckled, shrugging.
"I try not to be naughty." Cream stated, a little sadly. The response she got was a gentle rub on the head by the blue hedgehog who smiled at her fondly and he bend down on one knee to her height of eye-level.
"Cream, you were never naughty. You're one of the sweetest kids I've ever met besides Tails. Not to mention very brave and caring too." The hero of Mobius assured. "Compared to me when I was a little kid, you're an angel."
"Really? What happened when you were little, Mr. Sonic?" The seven year old girl asked, curiously.
Sonic blushed as the crowd, deciding that the situation was handled and that there were no real damage, decided to hesitantly help to clean up the mess while still being wiry with the aliens, and thus left while leaving him and his friends alone for the time being.
"Uh...I accidentally broke my Mom's favorite vase and immediately punished myself by going into my room, pretty scared that she, Dad and Uncle Chuck would get mad at me. Even when they forgiven me when they saw how upset I was with myself, and didn't give out any punishments or weren't even that angry, I felt terrible for a week." The hero of Mobius admitted in a whisper, blushing in embarrassment.
"Ouch." Sun winced. To think that Sonic was usually happy-go-lucky and cheerful, that even as a child the blue hedgehog still had that fear before five months ago. Maybe there were still hidden fears and secrets the hero of Mobius wasn't willing to share.
Suddenly the orange hedgehog was glad that he had the knowledge of a teenager instead of a kid, because he certainly felt that being a kid was a lot harder than it sounded and even looked.
"Oh, please. What you did is nothing compared to what's happened today, and Dr. Eggman's actions were much more severe than accidentally breaking a vase." Shadow scoffed.
"Shadow!" Amy and Star scolded angrily.
Despite wanting to give his own words to the black hedgehog, Sonic bit his lip due to not wanting to upset Cream or the Wisps, and didn't want to get a scolding from Vanilla who was like a second mother to him, so he instead gave his rival a raspberry by sticking his tongue out as he stood up.
"Guys, I think we should keep on looking around and helping out in case there are more misbehaved Wisps causing more trouble." Tails suggested before an arguement would break out.
"You're right. I'm gonna go and see if I can help the Spike Wisps and-" Sonic was cut off when they heard a loud scream coming from down the street, causing the blue hedgehog, his friends, Shadow and Topaz to look up ahead to see more Spike Wisps attempting to free more of their types from the Jade-Ghost Wisps, even though there were some of the latter that were actually attempting to help and even more of the Jumping Wisps trying to teleport them back to Planet Wisp, and to the group's surprise, Charmy who was laughing, Espio who stared on in shock, and Vector who had been the one screaming and was now on the ground with a large bump on his head, the source of the young bee's laughter.
"I guess there's more complications already." Star remarked with exasperation.
"Don't worry, I can take care of this." The hero of Mobius reassured, before speeding off to help the Chaotix with their slight problems, leaving his friends to share a glance before they decided to help by either going with Sonic or spreading out to help with the clean up job.
Looks like they might be at this for a while.
A/N: Not the best chapter, I'll admit it, but I will try to make it better for the future chapters.
(1) The Lunina Toy brand is kind of based on the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and despite that I'm not a big fan of the Mario franchise or it's related media, the Luma's in those two games are cute and the music's fantasic.
The next chapter will hopefully see Sonic and his friends, including a certain Knucklehead, to really begin their adventure.
